For the Youkai AU, one of the posts said that Ortho tells Master to consider them like a "security system". That's why I think household spirits for them. For Octavinelle there's no octopus Youkai that I could find, but there is a youkai that cries a lot. Personally wondering if one of the youkai will be the 8 ft tall youkai that people are talking about now because of the new resident evil game.

Oooh, that fits Ortho so nicely! And Zashiki Warashi also brings good fortunes and luck so that’s a nice bonus for the master. 

Maybe if we can’t make it based on the oceans and etc, we can focus on water yokai? Like rain or something. Lol, so whenever Azul cries, it’ll rain. 

There is a malevolent female yokai that is 8 ft tall (hachishaku-sama). Maybe one of the Diasomnia bois could be one but without the malevolent aspect. By the way, I recommend checking out the enemies and ghosts in the Fatal Frame series and this one blog called Saya in Underworld for Japenese horror stories, curses and ghosts
