It's been a few days since I've filled my queue, but I have a minute between Halloween and multiple children's birthday parties, so I'll do my best!

Brooks, like a good boy, is up bright and early to deliver the newspaper...along with a couple of notifications! Yay!! Another wedding in the works! Unfortunately, I suspect I won't be on rotation for it, but don't worry, as with Redwood Harbor, I plan to take some posed pictures for an album!

Jasmine was up before Shorty of course so she had a little fun before taking care of Ephraim. It's a weekend so everyone is home...well, off of work.

I guess Story Progression didn't take my que when naming the Garrett's new LO. Jill, Joe, Blake?? One of these things is not like the other! Oh well, it's a solid name. And I try to stay away from renaming babies born to SP unless I absolutely need to for keeping my sims straight. I may be alone in this, but my gameplay feels more immersive to me the less I interfere.

With Shorty still asleep and Jasmine again in need of some cheering up, it was time to fulfill at least one small want of hers. Take Ephraim and Brooks for a walk!

It was super cute, but it didn't take long before everyone was all sweaty and miserable. It is summer after all, and I do have my tempest settings set to a sub-tropical climate for St. Bernie!

Oh no! And Ivy is expecting their child too! I really hope this doesn't turn into another weird Korey and Angela situation where Freddie starts hooking up with all of her friends!

I've been keeping fangirls in mind even more than usual lately and this song means so much to me. I feel like it really captures experiences that I've had or am currently having and it feels so good to sing it. This is quite a personal cover for me and it's acapella but I wanted to post it because I think it's one of the best I've done.

♡ Episode 12 | New Islander &Pool Party | GENEVA ISLAND

♡ Autumn woke up and talked with Sean in the morning before she spent time with the other islanders making breakfast. She was once again feeling confident for staying loyal to herself and her new friends. At the pool party, she was feeling elated the entire time and enjoyed every second with them.

♡ Judi spent the day relaxing and chatting with the other Islanders as she enjoys the atmosphere of being around other party people. She is starting to get bored in her relationship with Rowan because of how stable it is, and she is considering getting to know Justin more. At the pool party, she was energized from being in her party element, and later she flirted with Justin in front of Sean.

♡ Jasmine woke up depressed about Blakes leaving, and also about their unamicable breakup. When meeting Bleu, she didn’t like her because she is nervous for more drama and love triangles. At the pool party, she was still feeling upset, and when Sean insulted her for moving on so fast, she insulted him for constantly being negative.

♡ Bleu entered the villa and spent one-on-one time with each boy as they made a three course meal for her. She first met Sean as he made her a tortilla wrapped veggie-dog, and while she was fine with the meal, she was instantly uncaring towards him because he is very full of himself (probably has to do with his awful mood about being at the Villa). Next, Justin playfully made her some veggie dumplings, which she actually liked, but she didn’t like that he is annoying and her first impression was just too strong to overcome during the conversation, leaving her uncaring, once again. Finally, Rowan made her some vanilla cupcakes for dessert, her first impression of him is that he is unreliable, but she wasn’t completely uncaring towards him, and it was the only conversation that didn’t leave her feeling upset. At the pool party, she was uncomfortable because she is not enjoying the villa so far.

♡ Rowan woke up hungover and spent the afternoon eating and feeling better. He was chosen by Bleu to make dessert for her, made vanilla cupcakes, and was attracted to her. At the pool party, he was confident from drinking again, and just generally enjoyed the party.

♡ Sean goes to bed tense and wakes up tense, having nightmares every night about his looming fear and dread. He spends the entire day in a foul mood that sways from tense, to furious, and back again. He is not able to concentrate on love as much as he had hoped he would be able to without the distractions of work. He made Bleu tortilla wrapped veggie dogs when they first met, and his mood made it hard for them to connect. At the pool party, he couldn’t enjoy himself. When he saw Judi flirt with Justin, it made him upset because he is friends with Rowan. Later, he started to insult Jasmine for choosing Justin over Blakes when they were official.

♡ Justin spent the morning with everyone in the kitchen, but especially with Jasmine. Now that Blakes has left the villa, there is a lot of room for them to grow their relationship, when she isn’t too upset about it. He playfully made veggie dumplings for Bleu when she arrived, and spoke with her the most at the pool party, but his first impression is that he dislikes her. Most likely because he is nervous for more drama to unfold.

i check out and read a lot of these books for free via my local library by using the libby app (you can even add your friends' library cards to gain access to libraries in places you don't live). when i'm feeling like reading via audiobook, i use libro fm!

look, no one HAS TO read diversely. no one is going to be reverse fahrenheit 451'd and locked in a room with no fanfic and only books and not let out until they work their way through the entire literary canon. but reading, and reading widely, and reading diversely, is what teaches people to form their own opinions and question the things they are told. it's why they hang up stuff like "READ READ READ!!" in grade school classrooms.

we live under systems that increasingly benefit from going unquestioned. no, of course reading ASSASSIN'S APPRENTICE by robin hobb is not going to dismantle these systems tomorrow, nor probably even in our lifetimes. but doing it will help set up a world capable of doing it in the future. and until further notice, we are all part of this wretched world. might as well read a good story while we're here.

anyway, i'm reading THE WEST PASSAGE by jared pechaček and the new cmq book this week.

I'm doing silly little girl covers again. This song just carries so much emotion I feel it whenever I sing it. Every song on the fangirls soundtrack just captures something and the more I find out about it and the more I listen the more clever I think it is.

The second cover is acapella, it's taken from a video of me performing it. I have never posted an acapella cover before and obviously it's really exposing to all the flaws in my voice and all my emotions even more than with the piano so I feel a bit more vulnerable. I just think this song and this musical are so important and I want them to be heard as best as I can perform them so please be kind.

I also now have a complete Edna costume!

Of course she missed him, otherwise Jasmine would not be in bed with him, something Blake was most likely more than aware. Her whole body was burning with need, driving her almost wild with desire. No one could make her feel like Blake did, something Jasmine hated. The woman hid behind pride and ego, confidence always wore thickly, except when she was in his bed. Jasmine's back arched as Blake pressed himself between her thigh. "If I'm not getting anything, so are you," she teasingly said. Couldn't he accept her in his bed for all that it meant? Jasmine wasn't a fool, she knew Blake also had his own pride. "I'll say it only if you also do." This wasn't just a favor he was doing her, this was also his own need, what he also craved. Jasmine would give an inch if he gave one, or so she convinced herself. "I need," she murmured, not daring to add the you he wanted to hear.

"Say you missed me,” he rasped, low and coaxing. As if their answer matter. Their presence in their bed was already an answer, a humiliating kind of proof—he’d always held the leash, even after years apart. But he needed confirmation. Needed it voiced. He wouldn’t move an inch or give them an ounce more until they bled the words out of themselves, offered it up in a pitiful stripe of vulnerability. "Say you need me," he whispered, pressing his thigh deeper between theirs, grinding them to the mattress. "You’re not getting anything until you say it."
