MELBOURNE | I love trying new things, but whenever I'm at @sunda_dining there are a few favourites that I have to order. 💯⁣ ⁣ One is these egg noodles with XO sauce, chicken cracking, and pepperberry. It does all sorts of wonderful things to your taste buds with a disparate blend of textures and flavours working together wonderfully. 🍜⁣ ⁣ It's a fantastic example of how head chef @genghiskhanh blends Asian flavours with native Australian ingredients. 👍⁣ ⁣ Fusion definitely isn't a dirty word when you have a meal at @sunda_dining. Some may say that the dishes here are a symphony of flavours and textures, but I think a remix is a more appropriate word. Nick Link's History of Hip Hop (Part One)

Run DMC

In an attempt for content on my blog about hip hop I am going to talk about hip hop. In installments I will discuss hip hop acts that shaped my love for the medium. To begin I will talk about Run DMC.

These guys were my first introduction to hip hop. I was about 5 or 6 years old when I saw and episode of Reading Rainbow that featured Run DMC. I believe it was from 1986, I was five at the time. That was the point in my life I knew I loved hip hop, I couldn't get over how it sounded. It was new and fresh and exciting, even for me at that young age. These are the guys responsible for bringing hip hop to a person like me. These guys put hip hop on the map. Some of my favorite tracks are Rock Box, Beats to the Rhyme, and Mary Mary. They had such a positive message, which attracted me to them as a child. As a teenager my love for Run DMC was rejuvenated by the Jason Nevins remix of It's Like That. One of my favorite things about Run DMC is that they rocked just as hard as any rock band. And they knew it. Run DMC also had a hand in making some of my other favorite artist famous, but I'll talk about them some other time.

So that's it, the first look into my love of Hip Hop. More to come.
