15. How do they speak? Is what they say usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first?

He tends to just speak his mind unless it's something like a mission brief. People regard him as really honest because of it

40. How sensitive are they to their own flaws?

Not very, if he ever is he just hides it well. People often go to Jax as a source of comfort or direction and he's self conscious about the image he has and honestly kinda scared that he'll let them down

G. What trait of theirs bothers you the most?

Not sure if I would consider it a bother, but like any good soldier (or former soldier) he was very obedient and followed his orders and it was that blind obedience that almost got him killed :3 Since then tho, he's been a lot more outspoken and will outright refuse to follow an order if he thinks it's bullshit

H. What trait do you admire most?

Swap out blind obedience for unwavering loyalty and you got a mf that will imprint on you like a baby duck once he knows you enough. He's also very versatile but that's just more of him being a tryhard nerd

HI EVERYONE! Today, I'm super, so very excited to share with you AIME! So, I do understand Hazbin Hotel won the poll, but I'm extremely attached/adoring of this TADC OC (and my only TADC OC eheh... :'D). But that's okay! I'm only sharing the oc for now, maybe some art of her every once in a while or in different AU's. So, here goes! Put a lot of work into the design, super proud.

Top left is from one of my old styles (I still use it from time to time), to right is also older, and bottom, again, is most recent.

Aime has a rather complex yet simple personality. So buckle up babes, because this is about to get DEEP!

Aime is from The Amazing Digital Circus. She was 21 when she first got to the circus. So basically, she's the youngest one there.

She gets easily angry. Like PISSED. She'll glare at you across the room and you know your in for it. Anger issues~...

She has a cool but lovestruck personality. So like, Aime will just be casually leaning against the wall, rolling her eyes at whatever Caine says. But she also sometimes acts a bit obsessed. Again, lovestuck gal here. She wasn't always like this though. In the beginning, when she first got to the circus, Aime was curious and easily flustered. Now, she's harder to crack and built up her whole new self after hanging around everyone.

Aime is originally welcomed in by Jax (who actually treated her really well! She got the pranking gig down now!). Before Pomni came into the picture, she, Jax, and Kaufmo had their own little band of goofballs who just went around pranking and cheering up in a way. Once Kaufmo left, she did rather miss him. A lot. But like her other friend, she'd rather bottle it up. For his funeral in episode two of TADC though, she does go up and quietly places down a small locket including a photo with her, Jax, and him making silly faces at the camera. Aime then sets it next to Gangle's drawing and mumbles a quiet, 'Thanks,' and again, quietly, walks out.

Treats Caine like a father. This was part of her original story. And I'll still keep it! Aime is the kind of person to also manipulate others to get what she wants. She became close with Caine for that reason, but eventually it turned into a father-daughter like relationship. She suggests adventures all the time for everyone, and is practically the queen bee.

Aime also doesn't like the idea of leaving the circus. she said, 'Here, we can be who we want to be!" (incorrect quote). She likes being Aime instead of herself. She likes the people here. And she's scared that if they find the exit that's all gone.

She also sorta has a thing for Jax? Like, I really don't want her to be that oc, which is why I'm including this not as the first thing. Except she does have a crush on Jax. I originally planned her to be going around making it obvious to everyone, but I'm thinking she only does accidentally or when she's acting defensive. But their relationship is complicated. Again, at the beginning for her it was like love at first sight. She loved the personality, loved the act. Anyhow, she was lovestruck (told you ;P). After Kaufmo started acting more crazed, she became nervous and drifted away from that group, residing in Kinger in Gangle. But Jax did stick with him, resulting in Jax and Aime drifting apart. But at the same time though, they were getting closer. More just them time. No Kaufmo. So, they were mischievous on their own. Jax did name her! Aime, he said, was pretty. And unique. And stupid too. (another incorrect quote). Aime said, meh, okay.

Though she did still start hanging around the crybaby and crazy bug-obsessed chess piece more. She loves how silly they are, and it's her beat. She doesn't really care for the others much. She thinks Ragatha's a tryhard, and flirts with Zooble. Zooble's her flirt target because they're so difficult to get to. And Aime occasionally likes talking to Bubble about weird little things :3

So, Aime doesn't like Pomni. She hates Pomni. Boo, Pomni, she says. Aime is mostly just jealous that she isn't the newbie anymore. All the attention is diverted to Pomni instead. Aime is the 2nd newest character besides Pomni, and even though it's been a whole year since she got there when the newbie shows up, she's still pretty jelly. On top of the fact Pomni is obsessed with the exit, which is what Aime's against.

Aime's whole trauma-fear-thing was what I was talking about before. About leaving and losing everyone and being a whole new her. Don't think that needs too much elaborating.

Aime is based off of a puppet for lore reasons. But she also changed up her appearance a bit like Zooble every episode.

P.S: Aime is tall! Like, Jax tall! But an inch shorter.

(This all may be edited later but for now I'm wiped out and tired, heh.)

Episode 1: Appeared as hostile towards Pomni, tense when exit is mentioned. She goes down with Kinger and Gangle after Zooble and acts overly dramatic upon it. This is also because she has a feeling Kaufmo abstracted and is truly too afraid to face it. Once Jax comes down and slightly mentions Pomni running and All that, Aime heads up to block Pomni from getting help. Pomni tries to get help from Aime with her arm, causing Aime’s arms to get glitchy too: with the two of her watch, it’s gone. Pomni is shocked and manages to slip past. Once Kaufmo comes down to where they are, Aime’s eyes narrow as Jax mentions it’s Kaufmo. She seems vulnerable for a minute before glaring at Jax. Jax only gives her a look, offering no sense of comfort.

Episode 2: Aime’s hostility grows more this time. She starts off in Pomni’s dream as one of the evil shadows. She fakes sad and whines the whole episode at the fact Zooble is ditching again. At the kingdom, she notices Caine in their leader and declares herself the righteous queen through a series of technicalities and being Caine’s “daughter”. She is crowned and goes on to help the others anyways. She rides in the backseats of the truck and is the one who throws Pomni out the window. In this episode, Aime and Jax are a lot more close and sinister against Pomni. When Gummigoo’s ‘poofed’, Aime’s expression softens as she sees how much Pomni cared about him. She knew what it was like to just suddenly loose someone right as you finally had them. Later when Kaufmo’s funeral is announced, Aime walks off pretending to be too busy looking for Zooble. Eventually she interrupts and says something very short and leaves a locket there.

Episode 3: Aime’s hair is down this episode from being underwater. When holding her breath, Aime’s clothes and hair switch colors and she sprouts a flower on her head. She stays behind on this trip, latched to Zooble. She tells Zooble about everything- why she likes the adventures, the circus, and bothers with Caine (an awkward sweet moment). Zooble listen and tells Aime that she can be Aime around them as she makes a move and holds her hand. Aime is happy for that, and goes on to act like the sweet girl she used to be only around Zooble. They have a new sense of trust. At the end, Aime sees an opportunity to see Pomni. She hesitates and makes eye contact with Zooble. She smiles, winks, and leaves Pomni alone.

ALTERNATE 3: Aime goes on the adventure, taking the easy path. She purposefully trips Pomni into the Zooble door instead of the eyeball thing. Jax keeps giving her looks through as she keeps on checking her watch, sending the angel after Pomni with no care for Kinger.

In a modern au, how would a Mario Kart tournament between the cast go? Who would they play and what kind of tactics would they employ?

Fair warning: I'm a relic that has only played Mario Kart at a few parties, but I love this question, so please forgive any version discrepancies 😅

On one side you have Arthur, Y and Darla, for whom the stakes are high and it goes way above simple fun. It gets vicious but not in a loud way: just looots of passive-aggressive commentary and jabs.

On the other, Jax, Ianthe and Gale, who are just trying to spend an evening with their friends (family, coworkers or nemeses), and they know monopoly is even worse.

Jax: Dry Bones. Prior to the tournament they would have glanced at what data science has to say about the kart configuration, character weight and their influence on winning, but they would deem the return of investment for their time just not worth it. Graphs are nice, though. They would be good with item usage and timing, so they'd mostly course on that.

Darla: Pink Gold Peach. She would get stuck a lot, driving into corners and obstacles, mostly because of her lacking the motor skills with a gamepad. Not very strategic with the items, strikes whenever she sees an opportunity. Designates rivals based on who attacks her the most, even if it is kinda situational, and is loudly discontent when that happens. She hovers somewhere in the middle of the leaderboard.

Ianthe: Waluigi. "Hey, I have seen this man in the memes!" Actually pretty decent in controlling the kart, but gets bogged down in places she thinks are shortcuts that are not. Often forgets to rely on what items she has. Very curious about track design, can get distracted by the side animations. She gets very close to the top of the board at least once.

Arthur: Toad. Tons of experience in the game, knows all the shortcuts and would be the guy to swipe the two crates to rob the racers behind him. Tactical positioning, but loses temper if Y overtakes him. Normally he plays to win. Normally. In such company he would strive to make the game as annoying and frustrating for Y as possible, while not dropping in the leaderboard. A tryhard.

Gale: Roy Koopa (really digging the frames). "I'm just here to have fun but this is a nightmare :)" Has no loyalty and would unleash that blue shell regardless of who is in the first place. "Oh, Ianthe, this is your first time playing? Here are three red shells as a welcome." Agent of chaos in sheep's clothing.

Yvette/Yves: King Boo. It wears a crown, and they cannot resist bragging; plus it has an ominous design. They commit to a real bloodbath with Arthur for the first place. Would be paying attention to what items other characters have, quite a defensive player. Gritted teeth remarks, especially if their lead is foiled by Gale. "At least I didn't need a pity bullet bill to fix my fuck ups, van der Garde."

second year jax softly laughing at second year fern rubbing the sleep out of his eyes as he visits fern's classroom, "dude... i keep telling you, you sit literally in the second row, you can't just fall asleep in class," and fern sticks his tongue out and refuses to comment. (he got moved to the front just because he kept sleeping in class.)

during the train ride on their school trip, fern falls asleep on the window, but jax shifts him so fern's sleeping on his shoulder instead. when fern wakes up, he swears he hadn't been in this position, but doesn't comment on it, simply content to lean quietly on jax.

summer festival/school trip test of courage... jax, the scaredy-cat of the two, holds fern's hand the entire time while calling him his hero... fern scares him a little at the end to tease him but praises him for making it through.

fern yawning and rubbing his eyes through morning duties, when jax pokes his head into the classroom with a quiet greeting. "i saw your shoes in the locker," he explains, holding up his practice gear. "thought i'd come to see if you'd fallen asleep." fern chuckles softly. "you should go to practice," fern urges, despite the fact that he likes this moment more than he should, but jax lingers by the door, eyes soft, seeming as if he doesn't want to leave as well.

fern falls asleep at jax's desk while waiting for him to finish club activities. when jax comes in, he doesn't wake fern up immediately; instead, he watches quietly with a full heart, memorising how the sunset dyes fern in soft oranges and golds, brushing stray strands of hair from his face.

jax, cupping fern's cheek as he sits on the desk in front of him, quietly asks "can i kiss you?" fern flushes lightly and closes his eyes, inviting the kiss. "are you gonna do it or not?" he asks when jax doesn't take the cue, "please don't make it more embarrassing than it needs to be." jax laughs softly and kisses him.

Jim paces in his closet, massaging his temples as he browses the hangers. He pulls a shirt out, holds it up in front of himself in the mirror, and makes a face. He tucks a sidelock behind his ear.

Jim's nervous to go on a date. He's never been on a date before. He's a rockstar. He's seen the guy's dick already. And he's in agony over picking an outfit, because he likes a boy. He can't help but laugh.

The moment he sees Jax, stepping out of his apartment, the anxiety turns into butterflies. Jax is in a shiny leather jacket and a white t-shirt so tight Jim can see his tattoos through it, making him feel less like a fucking tryhard about his eventual choice of a sheer floral button-up, but also, Christ. 

Jax raises his eyebrows when he sees that Jim has brought the motorcycle instead of the car.

"Am I supposed to be the hot chick on the back of your bike?"

“As if you aren’t dying to be?”

Jax grins at him. "Touché."

They ride along through the summer breeze, Jax’s arms wrapped tight around Jim’s waist, which totally isn’t kind of distracting whatsoever. They end up at the Arlington Diner-- they used to come here every once in a while back when Jim was crashing on Jax’s couch, for some late night “world famous” cheesecake that Jim is pretty sure they haven’t even heard of the next state over. It’s a quaint little place, your beautifully standard retro American diner, all neon signs and chrome plating. They get real food this time, and just shoot the shit, and it’s easy, and it’s nice, and time totally flies by.

Jim’s all smiles and giggles- a far cry from who he was the last time he was here. This time, he isn’t tucked away in the corner buried in a sweater like a ball of misery, too busy fighting an internal war to talk much. This time he gets to be affectionate, and present, and he’s grateful for that. He’s grateful to get the chance to make these new memories with Jax, to re-do ones he always wished he could.

They cruise a bit further along the river, passing right by the cathedral, to the park. Jim reflects on how the last time he saw that spire was when he was leaving Newark for good, and how painfully poetic it all is.

The cherry blossoms bloom in spring, but tragically, it’s August. However, a park’s still a park. Jim lights a smoke, taking a drag before offering it to Jax. They start their way along the trail, and Jim slips his hand into Jax’s, knitting their fingers together and kissing him on the shoulder to try and hide his blush.

“-And so I pick up the phone and he’s just like 'Dude, I got locked in the basement and it locks from the outside.' And I go looking for a basement door and there just isn’t one.”

“Oh, yeah, obviously,” Jax says, swinging their clasped hands a little.

“Now I’m thinking, we go on in like, five minutes. At most ten, and my drummer’s sent himself to fucking Narnia through some secret basement in this allegedly haunted venue. So I’m like-” Jim flinches when a drop lands on his nose and looks up. Apparently a rogue stormcloud has decided to roll through, because, of course. “Oh shit-” he breathes, and then there comes the rain. They take off running, scrambling for shelter under the bridge up ahead, doubling over and breathlessly laughing their asses off. 

After a minute, Jim decides to embrace his fate, and steps back out into the rain, holding his arms out. “Free shower!” he beams.

“Yeah, you have fun with that,” Jax snorts.

“Booo,” Jim taunts, except then his hair dye starts running into his eyes. “Ow- fuck. Abort. Shower over,” he laments, slipping back under the threshold and shaking his head like a dog to splash Jax. 

“Asshole!” Jax laughs, shielding his face and pushing Jim away from him. “This jacket is NOT waterproof; if it gets ruined you’re paying for it, mister rich-bitch rockstar.”

Jim rubs his eyes and grins at him. “Oh, so I should ruin it so I have an excuse to buy you a fancy new one?”

“That is not–” Jax gets out, before Jim’s all over him. It starts as a play tackle, but somewhere along the line it becomes a faux-waltz. When Jim goes to dip Jax, they lock eyes for a few seconds, both smiling faintly, hearts beating out of their chests, and then Jim lowers his head and kisses Jax, soaking wet, backdropped by the pouring rain. 

It's not technically a first kiss, but it feels like one.

It doesn’t take too long for the rain to pass. They sit together as the sun goes down, just out of reach of the rainfall, sharing a smoke until it clears and they can finish their walk. Jim gives Jax a ride home, and they share a goodnight kiss. They leave it at that. Jax tells Jim to text him when he gets home, and then Jim makes his way back, across the state line to his apartment.

Being in this city again, being around Jax again, without spending just about everything he has trying to choke down his feelings- it’s overwhelming. His heart’s filled with all the love and admiration he didn’t get to feel last time he was here.

It feels like coming home, just like Jax had begged him to all those years ago. But Jim couldn’t do it before he made sure he wasn’t going to hurt him anymore. He couldn’t do it before he knew he could take care of Jax like he deserved.

But now. Now he can.

Join host Jacqueline Jax on todays Jax Daily to learn how a Passion for Fashion Became a Full Time Career on youtube for one creator that couldn’t find her path. Ashley (aka ‘bestdressed’) wasn’t always a fan of fashion. She didn’t become enthralled with it till her sister strongarmed her into watching Project Runway. Even after Tim Gunntaught her the appeals of being best-dressed, she didn’t go for runway fashion — she went for thrift.

What made you pick YouTube as the place to share your content? What did you hope your channel would be when you started it?

Ashley: I grew up watching YouTube, so I always itched to start a channel of my own. When I was in third grade, I actually started my first-ever channel called PipeCleanerStudios where I uploaded animations of a pipe cleaner dinosaur named Charlie and got like two views. Eventually I started recording knockoff CommunityChannel stand-up, but quickly realized how embarrassing that was and deleted my channel.

The second time around, when I started this channel my senior year of high school, I genuinely just wanted an outlet for my love for fashion and a way to participate in the YouTube community I grew up with. I remember writing in my journal that I wanted to be a graphic designer, architect, or YouTuber, but never in my wildest dreams did I think that last option would come true.

What’s next for your channel? Any plans looking to the future?

Ashley: Oh boy, where to start! I always have 10 times more ideas than I have time to actually do them. I have a couple exciting new projects in the works that have been lifelong dreams of mine, so I guess you’ll just have to wait and see… It’s always been a goal of mine to have a business outside of YouTube so I’m no longer dependent on sponsorships or have to worry whether my videos get demonetized, so that’s hopefully not too far on the horizon.

As for my channel, I’d love to continue to push my videos to new and more cinematic formats, make mini documentaries about issues I’m passionate about, direct a music video, start a podcast, finish my second screenplay, and think of ways to use my skillsets and all the opportunities I’ve been handed to help the people who need it most.

When did you start noticing your audience really picking up? How are you growing your audience?

Ashley: It’s been somewhat exponential with a few big waves. I remember two summers ago, one of my first thrift hauls got 200,000 views, which I thought was a huge deal. That helped me get my feet off the ground from less than 1,000 subscribers to around 25,000, which in turn motivated me to start making weekly videos. I haven’t missed a week since. My bedroom makeover is now sitting at over 6 million views, so that’s been a huge contributor, along with some of my more high-effort fashion videos like 50 Outfits for When You Have Nothing to Wear (below) and How to Put Together an Outfit 101.

I’m trying to grow my audience by just making better and better videos, with fewer and fewer sponsorships. Luckily, I’ve never grown from clickbait or lazy videos, so I’m going to continue mixing chatty vids and vlogs with those high-effort, useful videos that often have farther reach.

Some of the big videos I have planned honestly are things I’ve never seen on YouTube before, so they could perform well or completely flop. But I know either way I’m excited to make them, and that’s what matters most. You have to build something you love, then the audience will come eventually. It doesn’t work the other way around.

What do you think makes your content stand out despite all the noise on YouTube?

Ashley: The way I see it, there are two schools of fashion and beauty YouTubers: the old-school picture-perfect guru, and the relatable, “effortless” vlogger. I don’t quite fall into either category. I’m honest about my flaws and awkward moments, but I’m also an absolute tryhard. Not in the sense that I spend hours caking on foundation and practicing my on-camera smile, but in the sense that I spend days editing and perfecting every cut, color correction, and composition. I think it’s that combination of my uncensored personality and thoughtfully edited videos that makes me stand out.

I also feel like whether it’s through a fake smile or self-deprecating jokes, a lot of YouTube videos feel dumbed down to the least common denominator of entertainment. I refuse to do that — I want to show my viewers you can love fashion and have informed political opinions and care about larger issues and have stupid brain fart moments and get straight A’s and have an existential crisis all at once.
