I actually finally saw Annihilation (2018) directed by Alex Garland the other day and it's really good and interesting (mainly in the ways where it is very much is the Jeff Vandermeer's Annihilation (2014) of movies) so I'm revising my statement.

Jeff Vandermeer's Annihilation (2014) should have been adapted as a 90's point and click adventure game, AND Alex Garland's Annihilation (2018) should have also been adapted as a separate 90's point and click adventure game.

Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer shoulda been adapted as a 90s point and click adventure game instead of the Natalie Portman movie.
