In my headcanon, Staci fell in love with Joey at the first sight. But it's after a couple of years than he declared his love for her.

Keeping his feeling for so long, was really hard for him at first. Like for so long, he thinking than she will never feel the same way.

But after taking his courage, he decide to asking her and he above the moon when she say "Yes". Because he knew than Joey has a boyfriend before, a relationship who gone wrong.

I really like this ship, and it's a shame it's so rare, because I think Joey and Staci are the couple with the shy, sweet boy and the badass, tough girl.

This could also be a sequel to the first drawing I did with them, Staci was so shy about kissing Joey that he only touched her lips.

But it's safe to say that now, he's taken his courage in both hands and kissed her passionately and deeply.
