Yes . . . but I think, storywise, there is a reason. I mentioned it in my episode recap, that was seemingly put into Tumblr jail for a few hours, that Thun is a passive guy. He isn't big on emotions. He internalizes a lot. While everyone around him immediately reacts, he thinks.

He is calm yet stern. He isn't trying to make waves. In a sense, he is the perfect punching bag because he really doesn't fight back even when provoked. That's why people think he is heartless because he is just a statue since he doesn't react instantly.

But this is also why Thun is a great fighter. He spends more time blocking punches than throwing them. He tires out his opponent.

Even in the initial fight, Thun stayed mostly in one place and waited for his opponents to come to him. He spent his energy responding to their punches rather than chasing after them and used their motion against them.

So he needs someone to help him find his voice and reconnect to his passion. He needs someone to fight the battles that he won't or simply can't because of how he is. And that's why he needs a Red Rascal.

If I had to pick a color-coded character to win a bare-knuckle street fight, it'd be a Red Rascal every single time because they are always impulsively popping off without thinking but it's because they love (and fight) fiercely. When they fight, they are fighting to win. No matter what.

Therefore, they will fight dirty unlike the honorable Blue Boys.

Hence why Typhoon easily decided to dope up to win, so that's why Thun needs a Red Rascal fighting in his corner.

This is difficult to answer only because most of these BLs go two ways when it comes to exes and previous relationships:

They are protective, attractive, and the perfect balance for a Heavenly Human.

Which is why his ex and his current man hated each other since they were the same guy! Both were prone to fight first, think later, both had a sad boy quality, and both were ready to die rather than just be nice.

And that's why they ended up as friends . . . ish.

However, even though I know I've missed a few, if I arrange that list chronologically, it seems like more recent shows are allowing gay guys to be gay from the start, so I'm hopeful that we'll see more boys having a color-coded type, and they'll be more Red Rascal than Red Flag.

1. 4 Minutes 🇹🇭 (4/8)

Okay. I catched up. I wasn't in the mood for this series, but now I am a little bit hooked. We have a really cute couple here with a really nice love-making-scene. We have a totally messed up relationship of three people, two love each other, two hurt the other one and two are horny for one with very graphic scenes. And yes, I saw it too. Oh, the story itself? Confusing, yet interesting.

2. Cityboy_Log 4.2 🇰🇷 (17/23)

This week was... okayish. They were mostly bonding at a group and doing stuff together. Nothing really happend. They played games, the trouple was cute and JJ tried to act, but really, those moments were more cringe than anything else...

3. First Note of Love 🇹🇼 (4/12)

The looks they gave each other! The constant bickering! The compliments! The necklace as a gift! I see you! I like them. They get more comfortable together and are now forming a band. Hopefully Sea can help Neil getting back on stage without fainting or having a panic attack. I am curious how this whole series will move on, but I am intrigued. But what is that age gap?

4. Hidamari ga Kikoeru 🇯🇵 (10/12)

🥲 I'm fine... the only thing that helped me in the end was the preview for next week. How could he listen to Maya? How? I know why, but still... why? And now Taichi thinks he was just a replacable someone who doesn't mean anything to Kohei 😭 I really don't like it here! And I hope Maya chokes on her words! I don't care that she's going to cry next episode. Right now I still don't like her. Boys! Get your shit together and talk to each other! Please!

5. I Saw You In My Dream 🇹🇭 (7/12)

THIS WHOLE SCENE WAS SO DAMN CUTE!!!!! I like them! And Yu finally collecting his courage to tell Ai, he likes him. I need Ai to tell him he likes him too! But the preview for next week! I can't wait! The best start in my vacation! Do I feel bad for Wann? No, not really. He saw the signs, he got the vibe between Yu and Ai, but he still tried. I guess he is a good guy, but he is not Yu.

6. Seoul Blues 🇰🇷 (3/8)

Well... Our bad boy got together with their mutual friend. Little Mr. Angsty likes our bad boy, but is to afraid what might change, so he didn't take his change when bad boy confessed to him. And of course he now is unsure about bad boy's feelings. And our lady in denial knows that her bad boy doesn't like he like that and I guess she can feel those two are very much into each other, but she still wanna try it and give it a shot. Well... good luck. And while she is thinking about her bad boy thinking about someone else while kissing her, her bad boy is now kissing little Mr. Angsty. I don't know how this friendship can be fixed. There is so much wrong with their entire realtion-/friendship... and I love it!

7. Takara no Vidro 🇯🇵 (9/11)

I started with mixed feelings about this series and I ended up totally loving it! I enjoy this series very much! They talk with each other and they understand each other. They have such a good relationship at this point and I love how Takara is opening up and questioning his plans for the future. Life is unpredictable, love is unpredictable and there can be people who change your plans for the better or worst, but that is something for other shows.

8. The On1y One 🇹🇼 (4/12)

Best chemistry! I love them! I love pounting Wang and this absolutely smitten boy Tian so much! Tian was everything this episode. He couldn't stop looking at Wang and couldn't stop smiling. He is already in love. And Wang uses Tian for learning, but he is slowly falling. And I hope it will be this: he fell first, but he fell harder! Good series!

9. The Trainee 🇹🇭 (8/12)

This was one of the cutest episodes ever and at the same time one of the saddest with the most wholesome break-up ever. Ba-Mhee did something wrong, she apologised and Tae realised that he is part of the problem. I am cusious how they work around this whole story. But Jane and Ryan. Oh the cuteness! I loved every scene with them. And I loved that Jane was jealous and Ryan reassured him. I am a little bit anxious about next week. Guess this was my favorite episode so far!

10. Word of Honor 🇨🇳 (20/36)

Those two flirt a lot and are a married couple. Everyone knows that. And I love and enjoy that! Overall this is such a fun watch and the different sects and intrigues are sometimes a little bit confusing, but interesting. I love this world of martial arts and I love how protective Wen Kexing is over Zhou Zishu. I haven't felt like watching this lately. I wasn't in the right mood.

His Man Season 3 🇰🇷

What was that? I enjoyed the first two seasons so much! And this one felt very manipulated by the production. The secret missions were just there to cause drama and misunderstandings. And othe rparts really felt just boring. I was not really invested in the couples this time. I wish we would have seen more of their friendships. Perhaps that was because the fight between JY and MK was so centred. In the end I am happy MS and MK made it and became a couple. And it is nice that SM and JS got together too. But who thought it was a good idea to keep that "break-up" between YJ and HM in the show? That was just awful to watch! I never saw them vibing together, but a short notice that they decided to stay friends would have been enough. I don't have to see that Hanmin gave the ring back, they made together. I get where he is coming from, but I wish they could have talked about this in private! There were some bad coices of the production which was not favourable for the show! If there is a season 4 I hope it stays away from artificial drama! Just a 7 out of 10 for me.

Century of Love 🇹🇭

We got a happy ending. Hm. Great. I don't know. I guess I wouldn't have mind if San had died. It was a little bit too constructed with the little piece of that stone in the end and the change of heart from the fake Vad... So I am a little bit dissappointed with the ending. Yes, I cried, because I have feelings, but at some points I had to skip parts because there were just too many emotions that clashed in my face. But I am happy for San and Vee. Overall a good 8 out of 10.

Bad Guy 🇰🇷

Honestly? I like cheating stories when my couple wins. In conclusion, I liked this short series. I am curious if we get a second part like with Blue Boys. I would be happy if we could just end it here. The two sad boys finally got their happy ending and can now be enough for each other. I like that. Wish we could see a little bit of their everyday life or how this decision impacts their lifes. I liked it. I give it a 8 out of 10.

Cosmic Playlover 🇯🇵

I enjoyed the show. It felt a little bit rushed, but over all, I enjoyed the plot and the love story. Two men working in the beauty industry and both go their own way and just loving what they do. That was also really good to see! I especially enjoyed the dynamic between these two. And they talked! Sure there was drama, but in the end they talkes to each other and listened to each other and could solve their problems. Such a nice little show. I give it good 8,5 out of 10.

This list was harder than I anticipated and it changed a few times. If I had to do it again tomorrow, it might look different. There are a LOT of characters that COULD go on this list. Ultimately if settling on 9, I decided to go with 9 characters who have more recently joined my harem. I wasn't intentionally TRYING to keep it to BLs, but out of the media I have consumed lately, it is the BL characters who made it to my dream about list.

Additionally, I am openly queer, which is not at all reflected in this list. There are plenty of women and non-binary folks that live in my dreams. A few of them made this list initially, but as I added more characters they ended up falling off.

The completely arbitrary rules I worked from are as follows:

While physical attraction to the actor behind the role is a given, the ultimate attraction has to be to the CHARACTER. Ironically, this means that both some of the actors and characters I would love to rub myself against didn't make this list.

I wanted to include different "flavors" of characters I am attracted to, because I think it would be easy enough for me to make an entire list of characters that attract me in the same way.

I love that we get to see Great in three different ways. In the (early) real timeline he is who he is, a broken and sad child who had to take care of himself. In his 4-minutes timeline we see the man he wants to be, and ultimately the man he tries to become later. In Tyme's 4-minutes timeline we see the man he could have been, and the possibility of who he may yet become.

Also, in the name of transparency, Bible's thigh tattoos are my fucking catnip. Respectfully meant, given that I don't actually want to objectify a real person. I'm just saying, I want to RESPECTFULLY rub my face all over his thighs repeatedly and purr.

Uea in Bedfriends

Though honestly I really feel like two K/cats without King just doesn't work as well. So King plays a big part of the fantasy. But Uea takes the cake, hell he IS the whole damn cake. The reason BEHIND Uea's WALL OF DO NOT FUCKING TOUCH breaks my heart, and makes me want to break people. Watching him drop that wall when he chooses to, watching how he's owns his whole damn self, his sexuality, and King too is... well something. I love that his surrender is a god damned gift and he demands that King recognize that and show his appreciation suitably.

Win from Until We Meet Again/Between Us

Bro had me at CONSENT. I would have said clear consent, if not established before, needs to be established at the point of foreplay. I didn't realize consent could BE foreplay. Enter "Call me Hia" Win, and yes please. Win is a delicious combination of traits and behaviors that I want to wrap around myself and cuddle with after. I loved watching him fall for Team, and the complete panic and crisis that he experiences because for the first time he has something he wants to hold on to, and he is afraid he can't. I especially love that he is willing to embrace his own vulnerability because he WANTS to be there for Team. He may not always understand his own emotions, and he may sometimes try to insulate and protect himself, but he is willing to put it all out there and he loves with his whole heart.

Johan in Fourever You

I don't even know what to say here. Johan is... just fucking Johan. Johan does it for me on so many levels. Johan loves North, and he communicates and telegraphs this in every possible way. The way he looks at him, the way he is always touching or holding him. Johan knows how to cherish someone and that is damn sexy. And the desperation in those kisses, the way that he kisses and touches North like North is the very air he breathes and like North is the only thing keeping him tethered to this world. I just... yeah... there it is.

Tan in Manner of Death

I JUST LOVE HIM DAMNIT. I love that he's morally gray by circumstances not by character/values, but that he does what is necessary. I love that he has liked Bun for YEARS and is determined not to miss his chance again when the opportunity literally comes up and drunkenly kisses him. I love how sweet he can be and how that contrasts with how deadly he is. Also, if a proposal doesn't come with that kind of energy, don't bother asking.

Mahasamut in Love Sea

Look... if I do not get to eat or better yet be eaten by Mut on vacation, is it even a vacation worth going on? Mut is the ultimate pleasure dom and I am so damn here for it. He will make your body sing in ways you didn't know was possible, and he will get off on it. He will feed your praise kink, and then make you a snack to replenish your energy so you can go on to round two... and three... and four.... and five... This man oozes sensuality and all I can say is hell yes, sign me up.

I am not proud of this one, but I won't lie and say I haven't enjoyed some Day centric fantasies. Ultimately I don't actually LIKE Day's character, and I have MASSIVE ISSUES with the story, which is one of the reasons he didn't make the list. But if I was going to sign up for some toxic red flag loving and let someone fucking OWN me - a psycho who wants to pamper me so much I can't live without him, will more likely than not grab my throat at least once during a make out session, and looks like Lee Long Shi (respectfully)... I could do worse.

GMMTV '25 Showcase Ranking

Coming back from the dead to give my ranking (that nobody asked for) from the recent GMMTV 2025 showcase.

Firstly, before getting into my ranking... I don't think I've ever been so underwhelmed and overwhelmed by a GMMTV showcase before. Out of the 20 series announced, 16.5 of them were BLs (one is a mix of hetero and BL), 2 were GLs, and only one, ONE was a straight series.

I can't even begin to tell you how far my jaw hit the floor each time a new series was being shown and it was ANOTHER BL. While I'm happy for the progression that we're receiving, I can already tell you half of these won't make it to 2025, let alone if they even make it to 2026.

During the watch, I lowkey thing I got... BL-block a bit? It was almost like I wanted to turn it off cause it was so much. I think I've talked about the over-saturation of BLs on Tumblr plenty of times, but this was just the cherry on top, for real.

Okay, okay onto the actual rankings:

From Least to Most Anticipated (BL Only):

1. Wu The Series

Dead last just cause we got next to nothing about the plot, and it gave major bromance energy. I went ahead and added it to my PTW, but I'll just drop it if it ends up being bromance. Some kind of fate, red thread, alternate universe (?) thing. It was obviously put together last-minute, and when I mean last-minute, I literally mean that. No other characters besides the main two, just them talking and fighting... that was literally it. I've already seen some discourse on this being strictly bromance, so it'll most likely will be DNF-ed.

2. Me-Te-Luv

The half straight, half BL series. Seems to be some type of anthology series, so if I can skip to just the BL episodes, then that works for me! But seemed deep (again) in fate and chances and making wishes, and blah blah blah. We get OhmLeng, KeenSea, and maybe some others that weren't specifically said. Seems like a lot of this is geared towards the enemies-to-lovers realm, which for me is "eh". Also, I'm curious how they're going to handle the storyline with the feminine men, I think it'll be fine if they want to make it comedic but not demeaning. We'll see, though.

3. Cat For Cash

A lighthearted FirstKhao series (finally), but seems like it might still pull a couple of heartstrings. It was just simply super underwhelming for me, I think cause I'm so used to seeing First and Khaotung do big and complex and heartbreaking, so this was just super silly and a little out of my comfort zone.

4. Dare You to Death

Not a DunkJoong fan, so this just immediately doesn't speak to me. Seems like a cool plot with a murder mystery + truth or dare aspect going on, so I hope they can prove me wrong successfully.

5. My Magic Prophecy

Reminded me a lot of Triage even though I know this isn't that. Not a JimmySea fan either, so again, a bit underwhelming. Also, the trailer was "eh". Seems like the trend for GMMTV this year is fate and signs and prophecies and whatnot (I smell a tarot card sponsorship coming on). Although, I did really like Last Twilight, so I'd be pleasantly okay with them proving me wrong about this series.

6. That Summer

EXTREMELY underwhelming. Again, not a WinnySatang fan, so this didn't speak to me at all. I think the prince aspect might be a little fun, but other than that, this gave me nothing. The only reason it's not lower on the list is because MOND MOND MOND MOND MOND and MOND. Mond is in this and I'm so seated. No one loves that man like I do. And he has a pairing??!! Me: 🪑

7. My Romance Scammer

Honestly? I'm still a little confused after 2 trailer watches, but, I see Mark shirtless and I click PTW. Also, Ohm paired with another Fluke had me giggling like a fucking idiot. Seems like Ohm and Junior's characters marry Fluke and Mark for their money? But then I guess they'll end up actually falling in love with them? I'm not sure, I'm here for a good time not a long time, ya'll.

8. Melody Of Secrets

I'm confused, I feel like I got spoiled lowkey within the trailer, and I'm not sure where the hell anything is going. Seems to be another murder mystery mixed with amnesia (?). Again, I have no fucking clue, and it doesn't help that there's not a synopsis on MDL yet. But Force was shirtless and I'm gullible... so PTW.

9. Love You Teacher

Soooooo much to unpack here. Seems lighthearted but also super sad. I'm curious about how they're going to handle their romance when one has the mindset of a 7-year-old (in and out, but still). I feel like this could easily dip into something overly infantilizing, but as long as they allow Perth's character to steadily try to help Santa's character with patience, understanding, and LOTS of non-physical (in a sexual way) contact, then I think this could be a story worth telling. I have yet to see much from Perth and Santa, but I'm already a fan.

10. A Dog and A Plane

I laughed a couple of times which is the only reason why this is not lower on the list. Also, Poon acting badass and isn't the comedic relief? PTW, IMMEDIATELY.

11. Memoir of Rati

The trailer did it justice, but not enough to be higher on the list. Also, not the biggest fan of historical dramas. However, the AouBoom part of this looks fucking insane, and I'm so excited. Inn and Great surprised me in their first series together, so I have no doubt I'll end up falling in love with this one too.

12. Me and Thee

A Pond and Phuwin series so far up on the list?? I'm gasping. But honestly, this looked really fucking good. I'm not a fan of PongPhuwin in the slightest, but this trailer ate and left zero crumbs. Pond, a rich man who only knows how to impress with his money, and Phuwin, the guy to teach him how to love organically. I'm flabbergastedly seated. I hope this is the series that turns me into a PondPhuwin lover (also, Phuwin looks so fine as fuck in this?? My God??).

13. Burnout Syndrome

I saw Off's ass so...yeah. But also, this looks SO good, and so Gun and Off. I'm excited, and scared. Dew is a cutie, we all know how it's going to end, but I like that they added another man to tower over Gun. This is giving scary and sexy and heartbreaking, so you know I'll watch it.

14. Only Friend: Dream On

MIXEARTH???!! Don't grab me a seat, grab me a bottle of Mike's Hard and a fucking couch, 'cause WE'RE SO FUCKING BACK. After being underwhelmed by the Ossan's Love trailer last year, this has exceeded all expectations. so SO excited. and Mix better end up kissing everybody, EVERYBODY! It's going to be so messy, and so sexy and so dramatic, and I'm so ready.

15. Head 2 Head

Look.. I'm shocked too. A SeaKeen series so high on my most anticipated, top 3 at that!! I added this mostly because I saw so much change in Sea's acting, even in that short teaser. If he can deliver, then I have faith that this will be a good series. I think the angst got to me the most, maybe the, "we're forced to be in close proximities and be all cute and domestic while trying to run away from our future prophecies" which I love more than anything.

16. Boys In Love

The way I squealed through the entirety of this teaser. I'm a connoisseur of first loves and finding yourself, and this screamed that. High School BLs will have a special place in my heart, and I'm so incredibly excited about this. Do you know how ready I was to see Mudmee's face when Chokun's character says he needs to find someone to love and it was A FUCKING BOY?? AND THE CUTEST ADORABLIST ONE AT THAT??! I have a beanbag chair with my name on it waiting and ready for this series to drop. ALSO, ALSO... PODD and PAPANG???? If you heard a scream, just now it came from me, cause HOLY FUCK I'M SO FUCKING EXCITED.

17. Ticket To Heaven

Of course, GMMTV saved the best series for last. Phew, this is about to break my heart, stitch it back, and then break it all over again. I'm so ready ad NOT ready for this series. It's so exciting and thrilling and overwhelming seeing F4 taking on these roles, and doing it with so much grace and talent. The teaser literally had me on the brink of tears. This is such a touchy subject, but I believe in Aof and I believe that if he is able to turn this into something beautiful, this can really take off. This is the first series, EVER, that I think could potentially take over my overall favorite BL spot (A Tale of Thousand Stars). This is also coming from somebody who is an adamant ATOTS fan and is stubborn about letting it go, but if this series can deliver and approach this sensitive subject with justice, understanding, and love, then it'll be #1.

Still can't believe the amount of BL's we have, MIND YOU, we still haven't even gotten 3-4 of the other BLs that were supposed to come out this year. I'm almost certain that most of the BLs won't come out till 2026, and honestly beyond that since we'll get another list at the end of 2025 too.

Last thing: Where the fuck is Louis? He's in one series?? And only as a supporting role, really??? Maybe they're saving something big for him, and they better be, cause wtf?

you definitely dont sound like a snobbish bitch or anything, you are completely right!! the rise of social media like tiktok and the importance of trends/hashtags, in my opinion, has been detrimental to bl shows. of course not every single show and of course it happens outside bl as well (booktok for example) but the goal seems to be to tick off boxes of tropes or "moments" in a show, while the overall story does not seem to matter that much anymore. a popular pairing already can count on their fanbase to watch and that fanbase/viewership want moments, looks, kisses, sex, whatever that will do numbers on social media and the story is not the main priority, because it doesn't have to be anymore :( personally i have been in quite a bl slump recently, because even if in the beginning of a show it seems like they have a great setup, story, and characters, more often than not, it will turn out disappointing (to me), it's a shame.

im glad i didn't come off as a pretentious ass!!!! i just..have so many complicated feelings on the trope-ification of fiction that thrives on marketability that idek where to start to try to explain them (and it's interesting that you bring up booktok because i do think there are a lot of similarities between the current publishing world and the QL industry)

like on one hand, im never gonna police media content: that's a slippery slope that leads straight to fascism and considering the current state of the world, that's the last thing we need. besides, culture is constantly changing, and having some form of writing getting adapted to a modern society in which short-form content is at the forefront of everyone’s mind can be extremely helpful in motivating younger generations to discover and engage with all kind of medias

on the other hand, i can't help but find it a bit disheartening to pick up a book and find a list of tropes instead of a proper summary, or to watch a QL show with a great premise and tons of potential like the next prince being stripped down of any meaning and getting reduced to a series of scenes badly glued together where their purpose seems to be showing off specific romantic moments not even between the characters within the story, but between a pair of actors

and don't get me wrong, good literature and good shows will always exist outside of what's 'mainstream', but it feels like this kind of trope-heavy marketing and ultra-specialized consumption is reducing art to algorithmic satisfaction. there’s a fine line between catering to audience demand and stifling creativity, and it's frustrating to see how this line often gets crossed nowadays, especially when it comes to content catered to women and/or queer people

like, not to bring GMMTV into this, but i've watched enigma last night and every single time it reminds me that it's not that GMMTV isn't capable of making good shows, they're just not motivated to make good QUEER shows (this isn't true only for GMMTV btw, but it's the one company i follow more closely). and again, don't get me wrong, im not putting the blame on viewers: im a queer woman, and QL shows satisfy my need for positive representation and community, but im also older and i know how to critically consume the content i watch, which doesn't come as easy when you're younger, and god knows the society we currently live in does not promote critical thinking

so, idk. idk where im going with this ;;;;;;;; it's not like i have a solution to offer. expecting big companies to change and give up on easy money is utopian to say the least, so yeah. i think the best we can do is to remember that there is good content out there, we just need to navigate through the mainstream algorithm

tagged by @aleng-neng. What are my fave top 9 shows in no particular order. (All of these I have at 10/10.) I'll only pick recent shows, as they're the ones I have listed on MyDramaList and thus have a ranking for. XD This means it's mostly bls and cdramas. 1. Moonlight Chicken.

One of my feelgood shows, even though it's still new. It feels comfortable and adult and grounded, with a bunch of amazing actors who are clearly comfortable with each other. As an 'older queer' it resonates with me a lot and I didn't dislike a single thing about it.

2. The Blood of Youth.

A really fun show with gorgeous, engaging characters and the right mix of beautiful scenery, beautiful people, and creative storytelling that I like. Sprinkle in some excellent fight scenes and a bunch of my favourite actors and I'm sold!

3. Old Fashion Cupcake.

I talked about mature stories earlier and this is another one of those. I could see myself in the main lead just a bit too much for me not to love this. Nozue recognizes that he's maybe stuck in a rut and complacent when he doesn't have to be. And, maybe, that handsome junior at the firm could help him get out of it (and make him recognize he's not straight).

4. KinnPorsche.

Look, I know it has its issues. I know. And I know people have an issue with some of the fandom. I get it and for the most part I agree. However, this was the first BL in a long time that I had the urge to write fic for. I enjoyed the complexity of the universe and the characters that much. (Even if some of it didn't make sense. but that's half the fun!) And that's why I like it. It got my brain involved. (And I just adore Tankhun, okay.)

5. Word of Honor.

Years ago I watched a few cdramas and then...somehow forgot about them? (I don't know how I did that.) However, back in 2019 I got back into them and eventually stumbled upon The Untamed. 'This is the pinnacle of cdrama for me and my tastes!' I thought. But then Word of Honor showed up. Look, everything about this show is stunning. The story, the characters, the setting, the clear and unadulterated love between the two main characters. Everything and everyone is beautiful and I've never gone through a cdrama as fast as I did this one. It's beautiful in ever sense of the word. And so, so queer. Don't believe me? Just search 'word of honor cdrama' in the gif section on tumblr and marvel at the art.

6. A Tale of Thousand Stars.

This is not the first Thai BL I watched, but it almost feels like it? Because ATOTS is the first one I remember going crazy about (and it set me on the road to basically loving everything EarthMix are in together). I was super invested and wanted to draw art and everything. It's just such a nice, soft, romantic story and the characters are so fun. This is probably the one I've rewatched the most.

7. Semantic Error.

As you can tell, I generally like stories that feel far away from home. I like magic and fantasy and settings that aren't typical. However, this is one of the few exceptions. I think it's the characters and their journey and the perfect execution of tropes that would have felt stale in any other show. It's a fun story with excellent characters and I get why it's so popular.

8. Mysterious Lotus Casebook.

Technically, I can't say this show is 10/10 yet because it still has a bunch of episodes to go. However, I can tell it's going to get close at least. (And will probably get to 10.) I keep comparing it to a perfect blend of The Blood of Youth and A League of Nobleman, in that it's a fantasy world with a master swordsman who's dying (and begrudgingly adopts a cute puppy who loves him) and a bunch of cases that need solving (to unravel the overarching plot). It's so much fun and the settings + characters are so beautiful. (And I may or may not heavily ship the loyal, eager puppy with the stoic, lying dying man who tries to push him away (and literally abandon him) in an attempt to keep him safe (from harm and heartache).) The hurt/comfort and love against all odds is strong in this one! He gave up his lifelong dream to protect a man who's been lying to him ever since they met and whom is at that point a wanted fugitive!! Because he trusts and loves him so. Also, it has a bunch of very handsome and gorgeous actors/characters in it, whom I love (and who suffer beautifully).

9. ??? I only have 8 shows that I've given 10/10 to (or a prospective 10/10, lol), so I'll just leave you with some other recommended shows that came close! Bad Buddy

I don't have a single fandom I'm known for or particularly attached to right now, so ill just jump around as i feel.

THE CHARACTER EVERYONE GETS WRONG

I am self appointed idiot who makes every character i get my grubby little hands on ooc. Because of this, I can't say for sure that any characterization I see of my faves is objectively WRONG because my own ideal version of them is surely not right. Now, having been an adult and saying all this I can say with the utmost confidence this award must go to Claude Von Riegan [FE3H] just by virtue of how he's probably one of the more popular characters i adore and as such gets the brunt of the bullshit.

I hate when people write him as this flirty, overly charming guy. Claude cannot flirt his way out of a clear bag and he is paranoid as shit. He isn't seducing your white prince and dragging him down to the dark (ha) side. He also doesn't strike me as someone who's deeply curious about other house's gossip because he actually cares. Claude stays in the know because not knowing is a blind-spot he can't allow himself to have. Screams. its whatever.

5. WORST DISCORD SERVER AND WHY

Worst discord I was ever in ... hard toss up between the ye-olden HQ discord servers or the one dmcl one I was in? Surprisingly, as far as I experienced it, both had very nice people in it on the whole. But the sad truth is too many cooks in the kitchen fucks up the simple soup-- which is to say, having so many other fans with different [WRONG] interpretations was annoying.

I can't deal with not having complete control or like, a general understanding with the people around me in fandom discussions so these servers were just, by their own nature, places I was never meant to be in. [Spits] What do you mean CLAUDE would wanna join the BL class. Go to hell.

6. WHICH SHIP FANS ARE THE MOST ANNOYING? WHY?

Short answer? sylvix. Long answer? Regardless of the fandom, the fans of the biggest most accepted ship [canon or otherwise] will always be the loudest and most annoying imo.

When you've never had to work for your food you get comfortable fast and complain more. Its a natural byproduct of being lucky enough to deeply enjoy the lowest common denominator. In most cases, regardless of fandom-- whatever reigns supreme brings the biggest headaches with it. But If this is still too general then... mmm.. people who ship objectively canon ships because their imaginations can be too small and they'll find rare-pairs odd, weird or even stupid to be into. Many a time I've had someone tell me "they've never even spoken tho.." as if that was a needed component of every ship. They're tiresome people with tiresome arguments. But it's whatever <- she is the most annoying bitch alive.

7. WHICH CHARACTER DID FANON RUIN FOR YOU?

This one is really interesting honestly. I'm usually pretty ambivalent about anyone that isn't in the blorbo pile or the poison pit.... but.... maybe Dedue or Ferdinand? Dedue because f3h fans racism and Ferdinand because he was always someone shipped with Hubert and little else. I think its sad, both ,men have so much going for them too. I'll put Tsukishima on this list as well because he was my number one and ruined by fandom. Actually no put like 90% of the HQ cast here actually hq Fandom sucks ass and ruins every cool guy. it's a bitch.

16. YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY SO MANY PEOPLE LIKE THIS THING

God. I'm such a hater.,... this could really go on forever... Okay, I swat at the hornets nest for this one. fics over 100k. 9 times out of ten, they're not good. Quantity/=/ Quality. Usually most of the word count is just used for shit you didn't even come to the story for. That's fine, I respect any writer who can even make that much of ANYTHING, but people who can read it (and more so ACTIVELY search for it) are odd to me.

I've been worrying on this for a few days and mellowed out since I started so nothing is tooo grating or bitchy here. Look guys I'm kind and sweet forever. Enjoy. Huzzah.

A Tale of Thousand Stars

Firstly, it does bother me that it isn't A Tale of a Thousand Stars. It makes it unique but it also scratches my brain in a bad way whenever I hear it.

SO CUTE

First to vent a few frustrations, spoilers:

They went too far trying to hide that Pirapat was involved in Torfun's death. I get you don't want to make a reveal too obvious, it's boring and tedious. But you can't just have characters behaving as if they are unaware of a twist until it's convenient either. I was CERTAIN Pirapat couldn't have been involved in Torfun's death because he dared to complain that Chief wanted to tell him off for LETTING A CHILD DROWN and never looked guilty or sad when Torfun was mentioned. They gave him a complete lack of a guilty conscience till it was convenient. In hindsight it makes Pirapat look WILD that that's how he behaved. I would have rather Pirapat be more remorseful and responsible and the reveal come a bit earlier than that.

I was SO uncomfortable with how post Pirapat's confession there's just scenes of him being sad around the villagers. It didn't feel like it was meant to make me uncomfortable on purpose. It felt like the creators wanted me to feel sorry for Pirapat but I wasn't. You don't know he didn't kill the old teacher yet. So it looks like there's this killer forcing the victim's community to deal with him. I was yelling for him to leave them alone. It should have focused on the villagers instead of him. To show his isolation without feeling like I was meant to pity him.

The Neutral:

I get it likely would not have fit the story. But I spent so much time during it making a mental shopping list for Pirapat. I wouldn't want him to change the village entirely. Their way of life is valid and unique and not necessarily worse just because it's rural or impoverished. I think the food they cook, the clothes they make, all seems brilliant. I do hope the child labour can lessen now that Mr Sakda is dead. But otherwise I understand why things are the way they are but... Pirapat's rich. I couldn't help myself from wishing that he'd get them solar panels, a computer (even just one, could be just to practice typing and stuff if they want to go to university), bug spray, a new mattress and a bed frame that doesn't squeak, make up and cheap hair clips for the kids, a model plane kit to build, lots of hand-sanitizer for himself (you're immunocompromised Sir!).

I like to kind of ignore the "let's make the house shake" at the end. Would usually love it but after watching the two of them barely touch for months it feels a bit too left field for them to get that intimate that quick. On that note Pirapat is demi-romantic/grey-romantic to me and Chief is demi-ace. But Amy, Chief flirts suggestively and shows off his chest quite a bit? What can I tell you. The vibes are there and as an Ace myself, I love asking my GF if she's admired my tits today. Still doesn't mean I'm DTF.

About a month ago, I noticed that posts I initially posts private then changed to public the next day doesn't show under in-blog tags. And a couple of days I go, I mentioned that the email support I get from Tumblr support was kinda disappointing.

I think on my second email to them, I asked if the posts were bugged and if its a known issue. But of course, it could be an internal thing and I didn't address that inquiry.

And just today, I received another email basically acknowledging my report, which I'm relieved they finally understood the issue. There were a couple of names that would answer my emails, so I guess some of them didn't understand what I was saying. I might have been too detailed or flowery with my emails... or you know, I've worked on contact support as well, maybe they just want to go home? I get chu tho but maybe don't do that? lol

Honestly, I'm just waiting for HoloPlus to be released outside Japan cause that is the only reason why I go to Twitter (I refuse to call it X). But earlier today, I read a Tweet from a fanbase, the actor they like is leaving Twitter. They understood why but, this is the point that I agree on, the community that they built is on Twitter. And its not exactly easy to use Threads with the same comforts as Twitter. You can't suddenly tell a whole community to move to a new social media, especially Threads.

If there is something I will miss on Twitter, that is the bookmarks. I like post heavily. I use bookmarks to easily find posts that I want to silently follow or images that I want to use as reference or for memes.

I also like to use lists. This would sound like I'm stalking but there are certain individuals that I follow privately and I added them to a private list cause I'm a little shy to follow them openly.

But what I would miss the most are basically people that I follow there. I don't use Twitter just for Holostars, I do follow other vtubers outside HoloPro. I also follow some celebrities like Mark Hamill (I'm not sure if he manages his Instagram but he has one). There are also artist there that mainly uses Twitter promote their art. And there are artist that I follow who specializes in sexually explicit art (usually BL).

But I wanted to try Instagram and Threads, I used to use Instagram a lot with especially when I used to experiment with facepainting and special effects make-up. But I put a hold on to that cause I got unmotivated when an uncle told me it was ugly. I mean tell me is it? Also when uncle said that, it was summer and I wasn't doing much make-up stuff anyway due to the heat in my room. I basically just fell off since then. But I kinda wanna use it again but to post my drawings. I do use Tumblr and deviantArt. Though, I am thinking of dropping deviantArt because of recent policies.

I do have Instagram on mobile and I actually hate using it. I know it is intended to be used on mobile but I usually use my computer more. The thing I don't like with the browser version of Instagram is that I can't control how I would like to crop my photo. It starts on the middle always. Unlike on mobile there is more freedom to choose. I guess I can just crop them before post but seriously though, why not have the same option?

I really shouldn't have made an account. Honestly, I did that just so I can keep the username I usually use. After making an account, I discovered that I didn't have to worry about it since it uses the same login as Instagram. I also discovered right away that I can't delete the account unless I also want to delete my Instagram... that part sucked!

Sure there are room for improvements but its been about 3 months and the only change I've seen is that they added a following section. Which is great and all but I think one of the feature Twitter users like, that they decided to remove, is circles. Having a public account but keep some posts private and only visible to friends is a great feature. Sure, you can limit who can respond but that little security that only select people can see your posts, is a great feature.

Seriously Threads, Twitter is removing Circles. I think you can add that feature, users love that feature.

Sometimes a girl has to go a little crazy. Sometimes a girl has to make a book-accurate floorplan for 300 Fox Way. These things just happen, sometimes.

Obsessive annotations under the cut ✨ but be warned, there's a LOT

Exterior

Okay first of all, I'm no architect, and my only knowledge comes from work experience in the real estate industry + a lot of Sims. The style is sort of neo-rural French colonial. I didn't set out to adhere to that standard so much as I made an amalgamation of homes in Blue Ridge Mountains-adjacent towns in Virginia. Specifically, my headcanon Henrietta template is Orange, VA (I'll save that explanation for another post) so I took inspiration from real estate listings from there.

Alright alright I know there is supposed to be one bathroom, but I simply can't tolerate that in a house with 6+ residents. I can't. There was a possible contradiction in the descriptions of "the single shared bathroom" that I used as an excuse to add a 3/4 bath, and I threw in a powder room for free. Because technically there is still only one full bathroom! But seriously with that many women over 30 most of them probably have IBS or chronic constipation and I'm not making them all share a toilet.

Officially we only have 4 bedrooms listed in text: Blue's, Persephone's, Maura's, and Calla and Jimi's shared one. Everyone else gets rooms that don't qualify as bedrooms via Virginia residential building codes (such as the attic, obviously, which falls below the combined ceiling height and square footage requirements). That really just leaves Orla unaccounted for but I'll get to that later. Other aunts and friends seem to visit during the day and live somewhere else, because in The Raven King only Jimi and Orla were described as needing to move out of the house during the demon stuff.

I designed the entire interior floorplan before I even touched the exterior, so there's a few issues, like how I'm totally missing shutters on the windows that functionally need them most. 🫶 I didn't feel like making the windows smaller to fit them, and I could have added faux-shutters but I think those are stupid. 😘

First floor

Right off the bat, we have an insane number of doors and walls. Old colonial houses are pretty much the opposite of open concept. Functionally I believe that's because it's easier to control heat with closed off rooms, but Virginia is not particularly cold so idk. As for the number of doors, I mean....😤😤😤 I prefer archways/doorless frames in small high-traffic spaces, but every time I thought I could get away with it Maggie would specifically describe doors opening and closing (For example BL,LB Ch 41 gives the reading room double doors, and even the living room gets one in Ch 11. What kind of living room needs a door???). I'm actually missing one of the doorways described in canon, but if you know which one I'm talking about I DARE you to find a place to put that thing!! But I digress.

- The Raven Boys, Chapter 3

I'm liberally using "crooked" to establish the corner turn stairs. Blue steadies herself on the stair railing when she identifies Gansey for the first time (TRB Ch 15), so I wanted the stairs to have good visual access to visitors. It also sort of has a feng shui-ish effect of separating the public and private energy zones in the house. If that statement made zero sense, I think one of us doesn't know enough about feng shui 👀 and it might be me.

I'm also using that quote to establish Maura's room downstairs, if Blue generally expects to find her mother there, but mostly because everything else was upstairs and it was getting hard to fit. Granted, at one point Blue leads the boys "up the stairs to Maura's bedroom" (TDT Epilogue) but since they were just arriving at 300 Fox Way those stairs could easily be the outdoor ones. There's a handful of little things to support me here, such as Adam grabbing a scrying bowl from Maura's room to use in the reading room (BL,LB Ch 41) implying that her room was the closest place to find one. And speaking of Maura's room-

Calla was overwhelmed by how much shit Maura had in her room at 300 Fox Way, and she told Blue this.

... The mess was taking years from her life. ... Maura liked chaos.

... The psychic hotline rang in the room next door. Calla's concentration fluttered away.

- Blue Lily, Lily Blue, Prologue

Maura is my favorite hypocrite. She claims to detest clutter (TRB Ch 34) and yet her room is literally described as chaos. She probably treats her room like a college student and moves the furniture every time she gets bored/stressed. Thus, I gave her the most insane furniture configuration I could think of while still matching all the contents described.

The phone ringing next door might imply that she neighbors the phone/sewing/cat room, but that area is pretty well described and Maura's room is never mentioned there in any other instance. That leaves us with the kitchen phone (TRB Ch 27) which I put in the hallway with kitchen access as a compromise so it would technically still be in a room next to Maura's.

In the reading room, the man looked around with clinical interest. His gaze passed over the candles, the potted plants, the incense burners, the elaborate dining room chandelier, the rustic table that dominated the room, the lace curtains, and finally landed on a framed photograph of Steve Martin.

- The Raven Boys, Chapter 13

There are so many quotes about the reading room that I just don't feel like citing them, but other details include the mismatched chairs, the shelves, doors etc. It's also described specifically as Maura's "front room" (TRB Prologue) so it's one of the cornerstones that I designed the rest of the layout around. Because of the plants, it makes sense that this room would be south-facing too. (Although idk how much light they get with the wraparound porch awning in the way. Oops lol!)

The outside suddenly seemed vivid in comparison to the dim kitchen. The April-bright trees pressed against the windows of the breakfast area, ...

Blue Stormed into 300 Fox Way's kitchen and began a one-sided interrogation with Artemus, who was still hidden behind the closed storage closet door.

- The Raven King, Chapter 9

Likewise, I'm using the particularly dim kitchen to place it on the north side, where we also know there's trees in the backyard.

I'll say the kitchen layout is weirder than it strictly needed to be because in the Virginia homes I referenced I adored all the strange kitchens, especially with old timey 'servants area' vibes where laundry kitchen and pantry are all connected. Instead of a kitchen island, they get one of those rolling kitchen carts which I doubled as a bar cart for the drinks they have in the living room.

The kitchen has a doorway to the hall (TRB Ch 13) and the living room is within view when Blue's on the kitchen phone (Ch 27).

Speaking of chapter 27, that's when we get the description "The morning light through the windows turned the drinks a brilliant, translucent yellow." So I put the living room on the east side of the house, where the rising sun would cast really strong light like that.

Second Floor

When she woke up, her normally morning-bright room had the breath-held dimness of afternoon. In the next room over, Orla was talking to either her boyfriend or to one of the psychic hotline callers.

Blue headed toward the red-painted door at the end of the hall. On her way, she had to pass the frenzy of activity in the Phone/Sewing/Cat Room and the furious battle for the bathroom. The room behind the red door belonged to Persephone, ...

Blue's room and the Phone/Sewing/Cat room are our cornerstones for this floor. In several examples we know that the Phone/Sewing/Cat room faces the street and has a window (TRB Ch 15, BL,LB Ch 4). While Blue's room is "morning-bright," we also get descriptions of guests at the front door "backlit by the evening sun," (TRB Ch 15) so once again we're probably talking about south windows if it's sunlit at both times of day.

Adam sat awkwardly on the edge of Blue's bed. It felt strange to have so easily gained access to a girl's bed- room. If you knew Blue at all, the room was unsurprising - canvas silhouettes of trees stuck to the walls, leaves hanging in chains from the ceiling fan, a bird with a talk bubble reading WORMS FOR ALL painted above a shelf cluttered with buttons and about nine different pairs of scissors. Against the wall, Blue self-consciously taped up the drooping branch on one of the trees.

We get some great descriptions of Blue's room (especially TRB Ch 43), although the above one is my favorite (#wormsforall). Every piece of furniture is accounted for exactly as described except the desk which I added because it seemed practical, and Blue is nothing if not practical™.

Persephone's room is also very well-described, all the way down to the furniture and lighting placement (BL,LB Ch 4 and TRB Ch 11) and it's surprisingly similar to Blue's room, if not a bit smaller. Her room gets strong afternoon sunlight, so I put it on the south too (BL,LB Ch 43).

Calla and Jimi share a room that's also upstairs (TRK Ch 16). Because they are the only two who have to share a room, I have justified that it must be the "master bedroom" (sorry for using that term) and is far bigger than the other bedrooms. I managed to fit two queen beds in there, but some scholars [me] would argue that Jimi and Calla might also share a bed because they are in love. Can you prove me wrong? No, you can't.

As for the bathroom, remember when I mentioned a possible contradiction? Famously, Maura draws the ley line symbol in the steamed up shower door (TRB Ch 1). However, much later we get Maura, Orla, Calla and Jimi all sitting in the bathtub for some kind of ritual (TRK Ch 9). No matter how I picture it, I can't put 4 full grown women in a bathtub together without someone partially sitting on/spilling over the side. But that would be impossible in a combo bath/shower enclosed by glass doors!! Thus, I gave The Bathroom a nice tub and put a small shower in the en suite of Jimi and Calla's room. I know this is a stretch but I don't really care.

Attic

Blue had never been a big fan of the attic, even before Neeve moved in. Numerous slanting roof lines provided dozens of opportunities to hit your head on a sloping ceiling. Unfinished wood floorboards and areas patched with prickly plywood were unfriendly to bare feet. Summer turned the attic into an inferno.

Trying to fit the attic access in after everything in the second floor was my biggest challenge, because stairs normally take up a lot of space and you have to be careful about head room. I'm the end, I decided it was one of those fold out attic doors that you have to reach from the ceiling of the hallway. We might get a lot of instances of the attic door being opened (😤 seriously, Maggie... 😤) but technically a trap door in the ceiling is still a door!

Dormers pretty much cemented the French colonial style for me. And you know the drill by now: a hot room probably means a lot of sun, which means I give it a south facing window!

Mud Room/Cellar/Basement

This cellar has absolutely zero mention in the text, but my justification is based in the architecture. So far we've got a funky old colonial house, built without a garage, lots of walls etc. Especially in a low-income/semi-rural area, it's not crazy to assume that 300 Fox Way was built before most residents had refrigerators (1930s-40s). Besides iceboxes, a major way to keep food fresh was root cellars. Modern renovations for old homes convert these to concrete basements, but that's why the basement is so small and connects to the kitchen.

My headcanon is that Orla originally shared a room. Pick whoever you want: Maura, Blue or Persephone, any of them would easily be such a chaotic roommate that Orla snapped and in a fit of teen girl rage moved herself down to the crummy dark basement. Over time, she made efforts to glamorize it, such as a vintage dressing screen to hide the flood drainage pump. The privacy also allows her to bring boyfriends over, even sneaking them through the mud room.

This is really just my artistic license, but I swear it makes a surprising amount of sense in context. There's cases of Orla sneaking into the kitchen (easier if she has a back entrance) and she's almost always using the phone upstairs or in the kitchen (because a basement would get bad reception) even though her calls get kinda ~intimate.

Aaaaaand I think that's everything. Sorry it doesn't look like the photo from the wiki at all, but I couldn't find a source for it and Victorian style wasn't super common in the areas I researched. Let me know if I missed anything major! I'll probably cry myself to sleep if so.

Guang Yan x Yi Yong - Oh No! Here Comes Trouble!

It's canon. Once again, it's not just canon to me. It's canon in the show and if people don't want to believe it, they can argue with the ghosts, but the ghosts also know it's canon because they witnessed these two fall in love with each other, so those negative people will still lose! When Yi Yong fell, Guang Yan ran to Yi Yong like his entire world was being destroyed right in front of him, and as a future doctor, he was losing his shit trying to keep Yi Yong alive. Then he stood in front of Yi Yong's mom, god, and ghost grandpa and stated directly into the microphone without any hesitation that Yi Yong was his heart and he needed him to come back to him. And if I ever get a second season, I know they'll still be sleeping in that bed, together. They. Are. Canon.

Peach x Home - Peaceful Property

This show hasn't been released yet, and the word on the streets is that it won't be a BL, but . . . it's canon to me. It's Tay and New. They are always down to kiss a homie. The pilot trailer was color coded, and although color coded boys don't have to be in love, they ARE in love. Therefore, they are canon. I don't make the rules.

#5 - Saifah x Name - Dangerous Romance

They knew each other in high school, and when they met again as adults, there was chemistry. Name should've shot Saifah. Name should've been harsher to Saifah, yet he was granting leniency to Saifah. Then Saifah wanted Name out of the business. He wanted him to be safer and happier. Even though that didn't happen, Saifah still showed up in that jail to let Name know he would be waiting for him, no matter how long it took.

They are canon.

#4 - Oab x Guy - Bake Me Please

They were best friends. They started a business together with their other (bitchass) friend who Oab was in love with. They hired another baker to help their (bitchass) friend and Guy developed feelings for him. But . . . they actually loved each other! This isn't me being delusional either! When the dust settled, Guy and Oab sat down at a bar in the final episode, and Guy made it clear that not only was he far removed from his previous crush on someone else, but that he was there for Oab to help him get over his broken heart, in any way Oab needed him *wink*

They are canon.

#3 - Hyun Jae x Simeon - Jun & Jun

Simeon is an experienced idol. Hyun Jae was his manager, but Hyun Jae quit with no notice to go take care of the main character. The conversation when Simeon confronted Hyun Jae after he found out was thick with tension, and I do mean the physical kind. Simeon schemed his way into seeing the main character years later, but I truly believe it was a guise so he could see Hyun Jae because everything he did was to draw more attention from Hyun Jae. After that first encounter, they argued in cars, on rooftops, in dressing rooms, and standing on city streets, and I fully believed they fucked in all those places too!

They are canon.

#2 - Dome and Khatha - Midnight Museum

Dome is a god. Khatha is immortal. And they traveled through time and space to be together. The show labeled them as "brothers" but I don't know if it's because Gun and Tor could have chemistry with a broomstick, but THEY WERE IN LOVE! What convinces me even more is that Dome wasn't actually Khatha's "brother" Chan but looked like him. Khatha even confronted Chan AND KILLED HIM so he could be with Dome. Khatha made a decision to kill what we had been told was the most important part of him just so Dome could be safe. Then he ran through time to find Dome in the middle of a war with bullets flying and bombs dropping all so he could save him again just like he had the first time they met, and if I ever get that second season (MIDNIGHT MUSEUM 2 WHEN?!), GMMTV better let Gun kiss another man who isn't Off.

They are canon.

#1 - Yui x Soichiro - I Cannot Reach You

These two were just chilling in the background of every scene. TOGETHER! On a school trip? Together. At a festival? Together. Looking at books in the library? TOGETHER! Even though we never saw them kiss, their taiyaki kissed, so that's good enough for me! They were color coded (pink x green), which I think is one of the best color-coded pairs to ever exist, and Yui was giving advice to the main couple to get their shit together, probably because he was already in a loving and long-term relationship with his boyfriend!

They are allso sweet. This is the kind of sweetness I want on my lazy sundays! I know they are going to hurt me a little bit, but for now they are the cutest! The progress of the story is kinda fast and I am a little bit anxious what pain there is to come. But I am all here fr it, because it looks really good. I like the characters and the writing so far.

2. My Golden Blood 🇹🇭 (10/12)

I KNEW IT!!!! Thara you bitch! I knew he was evil. And Nakan is still kinda evil, but he redemed himself a little bit. And with that the story finally got interesting! Now I want to know more! I want to know what the preview means... I want to know if Mark is going to drink Tong's blood. Will Tong become immortal or Mark human? Who is going to die in the end?

2. Perfect 10 Liners 🇹🇭 (8/24)

Yes, I started this one. The first storyline, sorry, but this was really not that good. I am not the biggest ForceBook fan, but they did a decent job with the plot they got. This making out on the other hand. Hello? Might be the best making out of them ever. I am not dissapointed with it. But the story of this grumpy senior who is really shitty and bossy around his nong and makes the latter with this to fall in love with him was not that special. But watchable.

3. Sweet Tooth Good Dentist 🇹🇭 (7/12)

Finally! But why didn't you let them kiss? Yes, they are together now. And if they wouldn't have made up their minds at this point, I would have dropped this series. Because it was just stupid. And the whole reason why they didn't begin dating weeks ago was just stupid. I just don't know what the story of this story is. What is it, that the author wants to tell us?

4. Sweetheart Service 🇰🇷 (1/12)

Strongberry is back! I missed them! And I alrready know, I am gonna love this one (at least I hope I will). But the premise sounds good. Fake dating? Yes please! I love this trope. Especially when we have a cool guy who doesn't know why dating and marriage is a goal in life for many people and a workaholic sunshine.

5. The Next Prince 🇹🇭 (2/14)

We have ZeeNunew back at our screens and I just want to give them a chance. I had my problems with Cutie Pie, but I guess that was more because of the story itself and rather because of ZeeNunew. I really like Zee as an actor and he would have chemistry with a stone if the script says so. Right now I like the hidden identity and loyal servant who can kick ass. Fourteen episodes is a lot, and I hope they have the material to fill those hours and won't give us filler episodes.

5. Top Form 🇹🇭 (10/11)

I said, don't hurt the grandma... These boys can't take a break. But because of these break-ups and make-ups I don't connect with this series this much. Yes, they have great chemistry, but there is no real danger. They break up and they make up again. It is repeating itself. And I think it is not good writing, when this is your choice of creating some drama and tension. The story is really weak.

Are we getting a special episode and their wedding? That would be nice! I have some mixed feelings about this series. I liked it. I enjoyed it. And I was looking forward to the next episodes. But on the other hand, I think it was a little bit redundant. I am not the biggest fan of the miscommunication trope and while I think this series did not do a bad job with the trope, I am still no fan of it. We get two people who can't talk to each other properly and just assume everything about anything. I really wished they have talked openly with each other. But than the series would have been finished within three episodes. But the structure of the show was really good. With every new information, we got a different point of view, which is really nice to get the whole picture. So overall this is not a bad series. And the kissing is really nice. I give it 7 out of 10 points.

Something Is Not Right 🇰🇷

What was that? At the end of this series I wished it would have ended with this shot and Jeehoon ending up alone without Bawoo. Bawoo is one of the worst characters I shpuld have liked. I don't need to like a villain. I can enjoy them as they are. But a main character with a love interest and a possible happy ending? I should like them. But I hated him and his stupid agenda to cut ties with his best friend because he has feelings for him. Come on! You are not worthy to call yourself his best friend when you want to give up this friendship because of this. You at least try to find a solution with that friend. At least this is my opinion. And don't get me started on the stalker and his sudden romantic interest in Bawoo. Why? How is this person likable? This is hust a bad series. The points I am giving this series is because of Jeehoon and only Jeehoon! I give Jeehoon 3 of 10 points.

Language Learning Check-In: June

Assuming I keep up with this I guess I'll make this a monthly thing. I've loved languages for a long time, but this was the first time in a while where I felt like it was my main hobby. I'm currently very into the idea of 'comprehensible input' which is where things are simplified enough and with enough context that you can understand what's going on, even if you can't understand most of the words, and you naturally start picking up both grammar and vocabulary from exposure. I finally quit Duolingo cold turkey.

Thai: I started seriously studying Thai at the end of last month, starting with learning the alphabet and then immediately abandoning that to do pure listening comprehension only. I've been averaging 2hrs a day, a pace I can probably stick to for the next two months since I can watch videos during work, but not after that. This is not counting time spent watching BL since in that case I'm focusing mainly on reading subtitles, although I'm sure it helps a little. The videos I'm watching have the format of two teachers asking each other basic questions ('Is this a fruit? Do you like to eat this?') with lots of repetition, hand gestures, and doodles to illustrate.

I feel like I've been learning so much but all I can quantify is the hours spent since it's not like I'm making vocab lists or taking tests, I'm just absorbing like a sponge. My favorite part is that it's pretty chill to be a sponge so it's still possible when I'm tired, and until this past week or so I was struggling a lot with my energy levels. I don't really have any fun language facts to share other than that sky blue is its own distinct color category, there's no overall blue in Thai.

Spanish: I'm actually part of an insanely multilingual friend group now and there are a lot of Spanish speakers. This includes the friend I've been calling 'Kdrama Friend' who is actually a Spaniard, although her mother tongue is Catalan, not Castilian. Then there's my Guatemalan neighbor of the Mysterious Doormat Beverage (left on my doormat, not consisting of doormats), and a few other women. Kdrama Friend can translate (and so can some of the others, they mostly speak more English than I speak Spanish) but it's a lot less awkward when she doesn't have to. I do struggle to follow group conversations a lot of times though, so I've been meaning to seriously work on my conversational skills and now I've actually started.

It's easier than with Thai in the sense that I don't have to have visual input, I can understand intermediate to advanced podcasts like the Duolingo podcast and even native podcasts, but it's harder in the sense that I don't feel any progress since my level was already pretty high and I'm just picking up the occasional new word. We'll see how I do at tomorrow's baby shower. To be honest I think a lot of my problems with conversation are more psychological than linguistic and exist even when I'm speaking English, I can just cope better then.

I found a podcast on fashion history which I was able to follow because I'm actually really interested in that. It's the whole comprehensible input thing, I know perfectly well what a toile is and have used them, but someone at my Spanish level who didn't know how to sew clothes might have been lost.

Working on Spanish doesn't feel that exciting but it's useful and important to me for heritage reasons. If you've ever read the Josefina American Girl books, that's exactly one side of my family and my grandma grew up speaking Spanish, but my dad's Spanish is almost nonexistent and I just learned in school.

Vietnamese: You all know I love this language and I've wanted to learn it for a while, but there aren't great resources for it and while I can absolutely pick up certain words and phrases, it still kind of...doesn't sound like a language a lot of the time. Thai already feels more understandable. I think the alphabet similarity is actually hurting me because if I look at a word the way it would sound with English pronunciation interferes too much, and there aren't any videos simple enough to feel comprehensible without any translation. So this is on the back burner.

Korean: Dropped for now, although I did find some comprehensible input videos in case I decide to try learning it later.

My problem is that I now want to learn all the languages, right now, and that is not how it works. Anyway, feel free to ask me about languages any time.

So, I totally agree it's weird and I don't understand it. Like the sound boom thing still exists right??? Like I didn't Mandela Effect myself to a universe without it right?? But like who knows what budget constraints the shows have... maybe that's too expensive... or it's like they say with Chinese dramas that it picks up too much ambient city noise they can't easily cut out if they use it (which is why they dub so much - that and dialect differences of the actors)... idek

ANYway the thing along these lines that's long bugged me has been the lights on in the bedroom. EVEN when they just sleeping. Like these boys will be all like "I'm going to bed!" and snuggle down on their side facing their side table lamp and just.

Like even if both go to bed! The lights will ALL be on! And I'm just like no! Who can sleep like that?!?!? But then I remember to suspend my disbelief - it's a show and they need the lights on for lighting purposes etc etc. And so I've been mostly able to control this pet peeve of mine.

I have come to terms with the fact that the sound disasters in these shows are most likely due to limited budgets lol but that doesn't mean I've come to terms with how terrible it is lmao. The thing with the lights is also something I have noticed, however it makes more sense to me since there's only so much you can do in lower light scenes with B-list equipment lol. It's still weird but more understandable and to me, a lot less bothersome than the audio situation lol.

I don't know why Blueming took a different approach but they probably just had better equipment 🤷🏼‍♀️
