this is maybe a niche complaint and people might disagree but i think it's really fucking foul how talking about your own experience with abuse is considered 'trauma dumping'. These weaponised pop psychology terms have done a number on normal human interactions.

#and don't get me wrong: there are examples where it does become that I'm not saying it doesn't exist. There's a line.#but just talking about your trauma in a stand up set or using it to explain why you connect with something is NOT one of those #you have every right to joke about it and talk about it #obviously you have to mediate and know your audience (though that can be hard when you're mentally ill/ND and it's a normal subject for you #but to express or vent your feelings is not fucking trauma dumping and fuck you for shaming people for it #im mad because i saw a post about pete davidson talking about how his grandfather beat him in a stand up set and people were saying #he 'held the audience hostage and trauma dumped on them'#it's Pete FUCKING Davidson! he's a bpd king and you KNEW that when you bought tickets #and it's his set! he can talk about whatever he wants #people that have been abused have a right to talk about their experiences #if you don't want to hear about it maybe don't be a fan of someone who talks about their life that includes trauma??#you get the WHOLE person not just the bits you can stomach #fuck you man #im so tired of people hating victims

#boston #boston harbor #ocean #city photography #seagull #seagull :)#this was near the boston tea party museum #because my friend wanted to do touristy things #and being from south america his knowledge of us history is limited to a few events but one he knew well was the tea party #and so when we got there something seemed a little amiss based on the fact that it said 'next tour 1pm'#i was like why would there be scheduled times for a museum #so we bought our tickets #and all of a sudden a spirited actor in perfect 1800's garb comes out and is like 'welcome friends to our very important protest #and it was in this horrifying moment where i realized i had just bought a $35 ticket to an interactive historical reenactment museum #to my friend he asked where he came from and then he was like 'oh our south american reinforcements for this protest'#and also we were sat in the front #so they had a guy come up being samuel adams #and he kept making direct eye contact with me #so you know what #i ate that #i was like 'well this isn't what i was planning on doing today but if duty calls it is what i will do'#i channeled my inner theatre nerd and LOCKED eyes and emphatically reacted the whole time #i was YELLING huzzah and fie and whatever else #i volunteered to 'push the tea off the ship' first #it was a good time #it was so corny but i loved every second of it highly recommend #elsewhere series

A few more people bought tickets for the movie half an hour before it started, so they didn't cancel it! I was able to sneak my phone out at minimum brightness and take a photo to remember this day, haha! I really, really enjoyed the movie!! It was fun watching it on a large movie screen!

But more people showed up!
