s2, ep10 I KNOW WHY THE CAGED BIRD KILLS decided to get lazy again! sorry for the wait! (not that any of you were actually waiting, but for the sake of my ego pretend that you were and that this is the highlight of your night or something idk). SO! we're back to the monarchs! the bug lovers are about as gay as ever, and (once again) i can't help but swoon over the black guards - especially when put up against the monarch henchies.

guhhh they're just so badass and cool.. i should REALLY get to drawing them.. hopefully when my art block wears off i'll find myself competent enough to do so eee

AND HERE'S GARY! just looking to break good ol' reliable 24 out of his holding cell. something that i find curious about this segment is Gary's ruse/bypass excuse. he claims that he's there to 'administer' 24's 'medication' - which is a good enough lie all on it's own.

of course, the black guards then insist on administering the medication to 24 themselves - in response, Gary lies and warns them that it's: "y'know.. it's (up the butt) medicine--" and then they IMMEDIATELY lay off and let him through. this little bit right here just sort of confirms that there are PEOPLE OUT THERE within venture bros canon that continue to live their daily lives under the assumption that Gary stuck his fingers up 24's ass :-| people canonically believe that Gary fingered 24. which is funny. at least to me it is blehhh also if i'm being entirely honest? Gary would totally stick his fingers up 24's ass if it meant helping him out with a health risk or whatever. i just KNOW it'd be a thing. they're boyfriends. 24 wouldn't even really need to ask him twice - they'd go tit for tat over who has helped who more/sacrificed the most for eachother before Gary would go: "(LE SIGHH) okay fine whatever just please don't say anything while i do it and DON'T ask me to do it again smhh </3" (he'd do it again in a heartbeat they r best friends yaoi lovers)

BACK TO THE EPISODE!!! Gary walks in on him wanking it lol xc i really like 24's face lol. i mean, he's kind of uggo but not really? he looks like bert from sesame street, which is cute - and he has a weird muppet voice, but that's also cute. something i've always liked about venture bros was their talent to make the strangest looking men somewhat desirable. i want to put this guy in a jar, maybe my pocket.

Gary immediately starts asking questions about Henry and what happened - also asks about what's in the magic murder bag. you know. not even bothering to acknowledge the fact 24 had his wenis out. because he's gay,

oh, and he basically confirms that Killinger is actually a sort of chill guy or whatever, but Gary disagrees

we get some villainous dork Gary moments here too (he's always a villainous dork, but some moments shine through more than others obviously lol)

gary tiddy check out the gary tiddy he essentially yammers on about how he's SURE that "that killinger guy" has brainwashed the entirety of the hive. it's kind of cute and funny, you can tell that he's just being a paranoid nerd here.. smh.. he's only happy when his ginger baddie is treating them all like shit i guess x_x

uuuhhh this shot is mostly for me to use as reference later ignore it but ahhh 24 shuts that down and raves on about Dr Killinger and how he's amazing and cured his herpes or whatever (also whispered about how he could help Gary with ""his problem"") (whatever that is lol) the herpes thing never really gets brought up by 24 fans. strange but fair. it'd be like me bringing up the fact that Brock is part swedish. it's useless trivia lol. but still pretty interesting that no one seems to remember or talk about it. idk. ehh.

Gary doesn't take 24's positive opinion of Dr Killinger all that well and proceeds to have a slight (but not really) ""freak out"" over it-- "oh he's already got to you! don't touch me, stay back! stay back, pod person!" i honestly don't even really think Gary's ACTUALLY 100% upset over it. he's just really dramatic and already bothered by Killinger's presence lmao

"alright whatever (￣ _ ￣；)" and 24's just used to Gary's weird nature. he's so over it. his boyfriend amuses him and i think that's cute eee

Today in JSA History: First Appearance of Eddie Bloomberg also known as Kid Devil and Red Devil

Eddie Bloomberg, also known as Kid Devil and later Red Devil, first appeared in The Fury of Firestorm #24, released on June 6, 1984. However, he didn’t become Kid Devil until Blue Devil #14, published on July 3, 1985. He was created by Alan Kupperberg, Dan Mishkin, and Gary Cohn.

Eddie began as a gopher at his Aunt Marla’s film company. Marla Bloom was a close friend of Blue Devil (Daniel Cassidy) and the producer of the film that gave Dan his heroic name. Eddie idolized Blue Devil and, one night, snuck into Dan’s workshop to create his own super-suit, incorporating Blue Devil’s tech. Thus, Kid Devil was born, and much to Dan’s dismay, as he had no interest in having a sidekick.

After the Blue Devil series ended, Aunt Marla died as an unintended consequence of Blue Devil’s deal with the demon Neron during the Underworld Unleashed event. Eddie then faded into the background for a while, making a notable appearance in Young Justice #49-51 with a new costume.

Following Infinite Crisis, Eddie received a magical candle from Zachary Zatara. When lit, it transported him to Neron, who offered Eddie a deal: in exchange for his soul, he would be transformed into a true demon with enhanced powers and a new look. However, there was a catch: Eddie would only lose his soul if, by his 20th birthday, he no longer trusted Blue Devil. Before Eddie returned to Earth, Neron revealed that Blue Devil was responsible for Marla’s death.

Shaken but empowered, Eddie joined the Teen Titans, confronted Blue Devil about the truth. He loses trust in his former idol and he changed his superhero name to Red Devil.

After Flashpoint, Eddie resurfaced in Raven: Daughter of Darkness as a member of Night Force. In Heroes in Crisis, he was seemingly killed by a mysterious force that caused the Flash to lose control of his powers. However, it was later revealed in The Flash that the real Eddie had been replaced by a clone, thanks to the time-traveling Gold Beetle.

While Eddie has never officially worked with the Justice Society of America, his connection to Blue Devil firmly places him in the realm of legacy characters. He’s also had strong ties to the Teen Titans and the magical side of the DC Universe. Personally, I’d love to see him pop up in a Young Justice Society story.

40. Worms Armageddon Previous Rank: 22 (Available on: Steam, GOG) Worms is ridiculous, and I love it. Armageddon is considered the best of the series for obvious reason, it's a perfect blend of the artillery genre and comedy, and it's just a blast to play with friends. I highly recommend it.

39. Celeste Previous Rank: 15 (Available on: Steam) Celeste only fell because there's so much added. Great platformer with a charming story that you should play at least once.

38. Half-Life Previous Rank: 36 (Available on: Steam) Half-Life is pretty good, it's a classic FPS with a great story and a good focus. Its linearity is a part of the story too, even though other shooters learned the wrong thing from it. The gunplay is good, the enemies are varied, it's just a good time.

37. SimCity 3000 Unlimited Previous Rank: 42 (Available on: Steam, GOG) Ah, SimCity 3000 Unlimited. Easily one of the best city builders out there, it takes the formula from the previous SimCity games and expands it perfectly. It's just the right amount of complex.

36. You Don't Know Jack 5th Dementia New Entry (Not Available, Sadly) This is actually my second favorite of the classic YDKJs, I just couldn't add it last time because it doesn't play nice with modern Windows. You need a Windows 98 virtual machine or 86Box to run it properly. Thankfully, I now have that. Josh “Schmitty” Schmitstinstein isn't Cookie Masterson, but he hosts well. When it was new, it had online, but nowadays the servers are down.

35. Space Quest 6: Roger Wilco in the Spinal Frontier New Entry (Available on: Steam, GOG) The last Space Quest game is one of the best, it's right up there with the others. It's a little more cartoon-like, but I feel the art style helps the humor. Gary Owens is back as well.

34. Syndicate Previous Rank: 24 (Available on: GOG, EA) Syndicate is hard, but it's a well made cyberpunk strategy game with a distinctive artstyle and a distinctive feel. If you've never played it, do yourself a favor and pick it up.

33. The Incredible Machine 3 Previous Rank: 32 (Available on: GOG) Puzzle games are kinda my jam, and The Incredible Machine 3 was my first taste of this classic series. Just really fun puzzles with character. Lasers and cats and power switches, oh my!

32. Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy New Entry (Available on: Steam) I like the Ace Attorney games, they're quite cerebral and funny to boot. The new characters introduced are just as memorable as the original trilogy, and it's still quite challenging.

31. Dungeon Keeper Previous Rank: 31 (Available on: Steam, GOG) Bullfrog makes great strategy games, and Dungeon Keeper exemplifies it. You command a group of minions (that you have to pay, being evil ain't cheap) and try to keep adventurers away from your dungeon heart. Really fun game.

Favourite CID Era

S4-6 also includes Don't Like Monday (Tosh's family at the bank) and Ted and Roxanne's first appearance together as officer/snout

Series 7-9 inc Viv's death, Dashers guesting after leaving, Frank disappearing without warning for a mystery job and Harry Haines arriving. Danny Pearce, Jo Morgan and Alan Woods also arrive. Jo is promoted to DS after a few eps. Jack is demoted to DCI and returns as a regular rather than guesting as part of AMIP.

Series 10-13 includes Rod being rather chauvinistic to poor Suzi who becomes CID in this series. Jo returns for a guest period and is about to move back permanently before.. ahem. The Target trilogy are a particular work of art in series 11. Don arrives in series 11 when Deakin is promoted to DI after Sally goes. John Boulton arrives not long after too and finally in series 12 Geoff and Liz arrive and Alan goes and Tom Proctor brings up the rear in S13. There is a lot of Alistair and Suzi fun however as she gently teases him throughout.

Series 14-16 brings Duncan and Kerry Holmes with Tosh leaving through sad real-life happenings and Alistair transferring as does Suzi. Series 15 brings Danny Glaze and Claire Stanton as an undercover CIB agent trying to catch Don. She doesn't expect to fall in love with another CID member, however. Unfortunately, we do lose Liz in 15 but she does pop back a few times. Series 16 is a BIG CID-focused series. Rod jumps before he's pushed and the truth about Don comes out after he and John have a fight. We lose John, Don, Kerry, Claire, Geoff, Deakin, Tom, and Tom. We gain Paul Riley, Kate Spears, Vik Singh, Alex Cullen, and Debbie McAllister. A somewhat unfair exchange. Saving the best until last however for series 16 as Mickey also arrives and is at his cheeky scamp best.

Series 17-18 Near the end of series 16 we got a whole new bunch of CID after a mass exodus due to Don being revealed as a dodgy officer. To give them a chance to bed in properly, there were no cast changes to CID in series 17. The new lot featured heavily, Mickey went undercover as a rentboy for a bit and then as a football hooligan. Debbie's snout was her lover and there was quite hoo hah about him, There's a couple of guest appearances from Liz, one of which is a multi-parter that terrifies Kate Spears, Claire follows Don over to Australia to tr catch him and bring him to justice. In series 18 we lose Vik, Paul, Kate and Alex Cullen but gain Eva, Ken Drummond, Phil Hunter, Sam Nixon and Brandon. Series 18 is also the beginning of the numbered episodes and Paul Marquess...

Series 19-21: we gain Juliet for a short time before Rae gets fed up of the sexualised bisexual obsession for her storylines and we also end up with sexist arse, Rob Thatcher whilst losing Duncan, Danny and it's the first exit of Mickey too post-rape and the death of his mother over to MIT. It's not all bad, we also get Terry, Ramani and Neil. In series 20 we lose Rob when he finishes his vengeance against The Radfords by murdering Irene and being shot by CO19. We also lose Debbie and Brandon and Eva transferred to MIT. We gain Suzie in return, however. Series 21 we lose Ken in an explosion and Jim walks away after losing June and Ken. Gary who has been playing in CID for a little while gets short and transfers to the Manchester police. Jo arrives and Mickey returns from MIT. There's a mysterious newbie when Adi Mateen pretending Zain also arrives when it turns out that he's not the annoying gangster that's been buzzing round Sun Hill but has been undercover!

Series 22-24 - In series 22 we lose Ramani and Suzie, however, we gain Stuart and Kezia. THISISNOTAFAIRSWAP. Ahem. In series 23 we gain Grace and also Max at the very very end, Zain reaches the end of his tenure after being drawn to the dark side with Kristen and Phil transfers out rather suddenly as Scott appears to have jumped very quickly over to EastEnders. Series 24 welcomes Stevie and Banksy and we don't lose anyone!

Series 25-26 - I ummed and ahhed about making the last series a stand-alone selection on its own because it's a reboot but given it's only essentially half a year long and that the character changes happen in series 25 I put the two together. So, in this series we lose Jack as DCI because he becomes Superintendent. However we don't gain a new DCI, Neil just remains DI and does both jobs. Jo gets promoted but moves to uniform. Sam, Stuart and Kezia go (Could not have taken Sam being promoted to DCI!) and no one else leaves (other than Will) from CID until the very end. We have Mickey undercover as a homeless man, Max's drug problem and Mickey and Terry confronting him. Grace and Neil get together but Neil's son is diagnosed with cancer and so much more. Finally the entire station works together to nail the rapists of poor Jasmine (Respect 1-2)!

Haunted by an incident from his childhood, author Ben Mears returns to his hometown of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book, only to discover the town is being preyed upon by a bloodthirsty vampire and his loyal servant. After many delayed release dates, THR reports that the film is now officially going straight to HBO Max later this year. No release date has been given yet, but a "fourth quarter release is likely." (3/12/24) Originally set for a September 9, 2022 then a April 21, 2023 theatrical release. Actor Lewis Pullman spoke highly of the film in a recent interview, saying: "It's a scary thing doing these remakes, man. It's like, this and , there's such pressure, it's a hard concoction to conjure up to make it successful. But Gary Dauberman, the director, is really keen on doing justice to the book. But also, the previous adaptation was a two-parter, because it's such a hefty book and there are so many different moving parts and so many characters. So there are some parts where Gary had to press and find what was really at the heart of the movie to keep in, but for the most part, he's really true to the book and keeping a lot of the original dialogue in there. He's a Stephen King hound dog so he doesn't wanna do Stephen dirty." He added... "So I think it's in good hands, Gary's a really smart guy who has a keen eye for things. FTX has released its presentation materials for the shareholder meeting taking place Sept. 11-12. The unrestricted portion provides a clear overview of the company’s current state and its slow march toward settlement. The Shareholders will begin their day with an account of the claims against the Cryptocurrency exchange. Over 2,300 non-customer claims have been filed against it, including those from Genesis, Celsius and Voyager. The claims are worth $65 billion, although those from FTX Digital Markets are “assumed to be invalid/redundant” and the Internal Revenue Service’s claim – the largest at $43.5 billion – is assumed to be subordinated.Based on Information from August, 36,075 customer claims, worth $16 billion, have been filed against FTX and FTX.US, and 10% of those have been agreed on. FTX Assets including Digital Assets, cash, brokerage investments, its venture Portfolio, tokens and real estate top $7 billion. FTX owns 38 properties in the Bahamas worth $222 million at book value. The company has monetized $588 million in avoidance claims so far. All that money has come from investments made by FTX, and it is looking at another $16.6 billion in identified potential avoidance claims from investments. In addition, it has identified over 50 potential actions against “insiders,” including Sam Bankman-Fried, Nishad Singh, Gary Wang, Caroline Ellison and 46 others, for a total of $2.2 billion.
