ROPPONGI TSUTAYA BOOKS will hold Kenichi Shikata's solo exhibition "transition" from August 6 (Thursday) to September 13 (Sunday), 2020 at the gallery space “BOOK GALLERY”, which introduces up-and-coming young artists from a wide variety of genres.

In this solo exhibition, Shikata will present a group of works under the theme of "transition" to highlight the existence of the metal plate itself, which is a material that artists have repeatedly used in their production. You will be able to see how a piece of metal plate changes its shape as the artist cuts and creases. And the works that reflect the surroundings seem to symbolize the very transformation of the world situation that changes rapidly.

Also, the artist's first mobile work will be exhibited. The suspended metal plate works formed by gravity, which Shikata himself describes as "leaving everything up to the earth", may give a suggestion to the modern society that is at the mercy of nature.

Please enjoy the world of Shikata’s art with about 20 works including a series of three-dimensional works and a series of Photograms.

今回の個展で四方は「transition」をテーマに、作家が繰り返し制作に用いてきた素材である金属板そのものの存在を浮き彫りにするかのような作品群を発表します。一片の金属板が、作家による必要最小限の切り込みや折り目によっていく通りにも姿を変えていく様をご覧いただけることでしょう。そして周囲を映し込むその作品群は、めまぐるしく移り変わる世界情勢の変容そのものも象徴するかのようです。

また今回、作家にとって初となるモビール作品も展示します。四方の言葉で「地球まかせ」と呼ばれる、重力によってかたちづくられるそれら宙づりの金属板の作品群は、自然の猛威に翻弄される現代社会に一つの示唆を与えてくれるかもしれません。

新作を含む立体作品とフォトグラムのシリーズによる約20点で見せる四方の作品世界を、どうぞお楽しみください。

10 Gorgeous Jewel Idols Gather in Kiratto Pri☆Chan New Key Visual

The official website and Twitter for the TV anime Kiratto Pri☆Chan have posted a new key visual for its ongoing second season introducing the ten jewel idols in Jewel Code: Miracle Kirats (Mirai Momoyama, Emo Moegi, Rinka Aoba), Meltic StAr (Anna Akagi, Sara Midorikawa, Mel Shido), Ring Marry (Maria Kanamori, Suzu Kurokawa), Anju Shiratori, and Dia. 

  One surprising thing in the visual is that Dia, the virtual idol who has served as the host of the Jewel Audition event, also wears the special dress. The reason will be revealed in the story in near future. 

  Following the very successful PriPara series and its direct sequel Idol Time PriPara, the latest TV anime series based on Takara Tommy Arts and syn Sophia's "Pretty" arcade game franchise has been aired in Japan since April 2018.

金森三惠子の個展を開催することとなりました。

金属を通じた道具と生活の可能性を探求し、新作を6点ほど発表いたします。ぜひ足をお運びください。

〇本展について

日本では、道具は自然をお借りし、人類が生かされるためのインターフェイスでした。そこで、今回は、自然と共に生活していた太古の昔に想いを馳せました。造形だけでなく、自然と人間の間にある物質や道具のあり方を中心に据え、時代を超えた金属の在り方を考えました。それは、太古の昔から変わらない、自然に生かされるための未来の道具です。

函館市の観光スポット All things to do in Hakodate

■金属の新しいかたち -道具がつなぐ原始と未来

金森三惠子の個展を開催することとなりました。

金属を通じた道具と生活の可能性を探求し、新作を6点ほど発表いたします。ぜひ足をお運びください。

〇本展について

日本では、道具は自然をお借りし、人類が生かされるためのインターフェイスでした。そこで、今回は、自然と共に生活していた太古の昔に想いを馳せました。造形だけでなく、自然と人間の間にある物質や道具のあり方を中心に据え、時代を超えた金属の在り方を考えました。それは、太古の昔から変わらない、自然に生かされるための未来の道具です。
