I am so glad the new kdramas are bringing back the specific brand of loser men. You know which brand I'm talking about. The Ahn "min min" Minhyuk brand of loser men and I'm loving it. The "I worship this goddess and I'm so in love with her and I can't believe I get to love her. Oh my gods I love her so much" brand of loser men. And we're being fed so well with lovely runner, love next door, no gain no love, my demon, Cinderella at 2am, Hierarchy, Midnight Romance in Hagwon, doctor slump, Queen of tears, welcome to samdal-ri and even good partner (yes it's one sided but the dedication and yuri's couple too).
We need more fictional loser men who worship women to satiate our eldest independent daughter desires.

When Life Gives You Tangerines
Tumblr media
TV Shows/Dramas watched in 2025
When Life Gives You Tangerines (2025, South Korea)
Director: Kim Won Seok
Writer: Lim Sang Choon
Mini-review:
With a dream team like this one, expectations were understandably sky-high. And yet, the show has somehow managed to surpass them. Throughout the past four weeks, it has given us a soaring story about love, loss, growing up and life in general, all of it centered around the incredible women of one specific family. That allows for a deeply insightful exploration of gender roles in South Korea, which writer Lim Sang Choon handles with both sensitivity and bite. The entire cast gives it their all too; I'm not exaggerating when I say this is career-best work from IU, Park Bo Gum, Moon So Ri and Park Hae Joon, and the supporting performers are equally brilliant. Also, kudos must be given to the art teams for the beautiful sets, costumes, make-up, CGI and cinematography. And of course, director Kim Won Seok shepherded the whole project towards brilliancy. All in all, When Life Gives You Tangerines is an unforgettable drama that will stay with you for a long time.

DESIGNATED SURVIVOR: 60 DAYS
GENRES: Drama, Political Procedural
SUMMARY: A temporary acting President has to deal with keeping a country afloat amid a crisis, internal espionage, and new suits.
THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Dust particles, botched press conferences, testy teens, VIPs, bombings, assassinations, military intrigue, national abandonment, hacking, camping, and eyeglasses.
HOT TAKE: I have not yet seen the American version of this show, but damn, this was a democratic rollercoaster of an experience. Everyone is out to win something whether it's an improved South Korea, dirty revenge, or just maintaining some semblance of governmental sanity.
This show has a real 'let's use the same 3 hallway sets over and over again' problem, but the familiar environments just made me care that much more about the acting masterclasses happening between their walls.

THE THIRD CHARM // KDRAMA DİZİ YORUMU
UYARI : Yazılar genel olarak spoiler içerebilir. İçermeyedebilir.
İmdb puanı: 6,2 Benim puanım: 5
Drama: The 3rd Charm / The Third Charm
Hangul:
Director: Pyo Min-Soo
Writer: Park Hee-Kwon, Park Eun-Young
Date: 2018
Language: Korean
Country: South Korea
Cast: Seo Kang-Joon, Esom, Yang Dong-Geun, Lee Yoon-Ji, Min Wook-Hyuk, Kim Yoon-Hye, Lee Sang-Yi, Park Gyu-Young
Seo Kang-Joon’u “Are You Human?” ve “When the weather is Fine” dizilerinde izlemiştim. Esom’u ise ”Because This Is My First Life”, “Taxi Driver” ve “Black Knight” dizilerinde izlemiştim.
On Joon-Young, 20 yaşında üniversite öğrencisidir.
OST:
CJM - Attractive
It was one of the rare dramas that started with such beautiful feelings but ended up being a huge disappointment and incredibly difficult for me to finish. The story tells the 12-year relationship between On Joon-Young (Seo Kang-Joon) and Lee Young-Jae (Esom). During this time, it shows us many different models of a relationship. Meeting during their university years, their interaction felt like four seasons, each lasting about three years.
Even describing it like this might sound appealing, but watching it was pure torture for me. I had previously seen Seo Kang-Joon in Are You Human? and When the Weather is Fine. I didn’t adore him, but I liked him enough. That was partly why I started this drama. But after this, I took a break from him for a while. As for Esom, I had watched her in Because This Is My First Life, Taxi Driver, and Black Knight. She hadn't made much of an impression on me in those dramas, but in this one, I grew very cold toward her. She had no influence on me starting the show.
On Joon-Young is a 20-year-old university student. He doesn't care much about his appearance, wears glasses, is hardworking, and very structured. He loves romantic movies, is obsessed with peaches, and has a hobby of cooking. At the insistence of his friends, he goes on a group blind date to try to break out of his isolated life. Unexpectedly, he finds a connection not with the eager volunteers but with Joon-Young, who was dragged there reluctantly.
Young-Jae, on the other hand, is his complete opposite. She lives in the moment, with no plans or programs. Having lost both her parents at a young age, she lives with her older brother. She chose not to attend university and works at a hair salon. She has a fiery personality that can’t stay silent against injustice and dreams of becoming rich.
Maybe it’s the classic "opposites attract" logic, I don’t know, but these two completely unrelated people fall in love because, well, it’s a drama. First of all, let me say, I never felt their love at all. After a long relationship, they break up — through events and storylines that made absolutely no sense (this isn’t even a spoiler; it’s literally the plot).
They meet again at 27, separate again after another round of baffling events, and cross paths once more at 32. As viewers, we’re expected to sit through the storyline made up of their meaningless encounters.
The relationship, spanning these three periods, first goes through a "fun" stage. Now, fun is subjective, but personally, I found it hard to enjoy because I simply couldn’t see any spark between them. In the second stage, it becomes romantic and argumentative. But to me, it just felt filled with regrets. The third stage was gloomy — this I agree with. Their relationship seemed so forced that throughout the drama, I kept hoping each of them would move on with the second leads.
And the reason given for why they couldn't sustain the relationship was something as ridiculous as "one loved more than the other."
There’s no need to go on too long: we watched a bad story, a bad couple, and a bad relationship. Plus, they overloaded the drama with unnecessary emotional anguish, as if worried there wasn’t enough drama.
I absolutely would not recommend it to anyone. Don't watch it.

Binged The Third Charm. Such an underrated drama, but so so good. The show completely walks away from the traditional drama storyline and format and introduces real life elements as they are, unromanticized, moving against the trends to tell a story that is set apart from the typical Kdramas. Well written story, well acted.
