A/N: @talesofreading and @imagine-all-the-fandoms I hope you're prepared for some Kelly Severide smut.....
For as long as you could remember you have always worked with Kelly Severide at Firehouse 51 and worked on Ambo 61. You loved your job and the people that worked there, one in particular and that would be the man himself but you always kept your feelings a secret. For years Kelly had been trying to make you jealous and get you to notice him and it had worked but you just didn’t let it show. When you both had to do a task and had to be partnered up, he would always volunteer to be your partner and you weren’t complaining in the least bit.
Both of your shifts were just about to start. You had pulled up at the same time as he did and smiled and shook your head. You killed the engine and so did he. He got out at the same time as you did. “Good morning, beautiful.” He said while grabbing his bag and you did the same
“Morning, Kelly.” You replied back and you two began walking into the firehouse.
“When are you going to let me take you on a date?” He asked and you shook your head.
“Never.” You said somewhat meaning it and he frowned.
“Why not?” He asked
“You know why.” You said and he raised an eyebrow and you just shook your head and headed to go and get changed. Leaving a confused Kelly standing there. When you got there Sylvie, Stella, and Gabby were getting dressed as well.
“Good morning.” You said and they smiled.
“Good morning.” They replied at the same time.
“How was your time off?” Gabby asked
“It was wonderful. Got to sleep in and catch up with Jay and Will.” You said and they smiled and nodded. Jay and Will were your childhood friends and you all considered each other family. “How was your guy's time off?” You asked.
“It was good. Did some shopping and laid around.” Sylvie said and you smiled.
“Antonio and I had some brother and sister bonding but other than that nothing.” Gabby said just then the bell rang and everyone was rushing out to their respective vehicles and everyone was off.
When you got to the scene it was 4 car pileups so it was all hands-on deck. Gabby, Sylvie, and you worked in unison making sure the people that needed help were directed over to somewhere and the others that didn’t need as much help were grouped together. “Someone! Please help me! My child is stuck!” A woman shouted and that made you shoot up and head over to the black sedan you looked in and saw the child was unconscious. You turned to the mother.
“Ma’am just be calm and I’m gonna get some help opening this door.” You said seeing as the door where the kid was crushed in and from what you could see the car had hit it and then another car crashed into it and pushed it away. You turned and looked to see who was free and spotted Kelly “Severide! I need you!” You yelled out and that got his attention and he was quick to come rushing to your side along with some other members. “Door is stuck and won’t open. I need to get the boy as soon as possible.” You said and he nodded.
“You got it.” He said and he turned to give orders in the meantime you were in the front seat trying to assess the injuries as best as you could. You turned to the woman.
“What is your son’s name?” You asked
“Jake his name is Jake.” She said frantically and you smiled and nodded.
“Jake, can you hear me?” You asked and he groaned a little bit and that made you smile and he slowly opened his eyes “That’s it. My name is Y/N and I’m here to help you.” You said and he just stared at you “Kelly?” You asked.
“Just 5 more seconds.” He said and you nodded.
“Just hold on, Jake.” You said and then you heard the door coming off and then you were getting out and going to the little boy. “Does anything hurt?” You asked.
“My arm and chest.” He said quietly and you smiled and nodded. “Where is my mom?” He asked
“I’m right here baby. This nice paramedic is going to help you.” She said and you smiled.
“Can I feel around?” You asked him and he nodded and you did so. He whimpered when you pressed his arm and around his chest. “Ok, it looks like you may have broken your arm and the seatbelt sure did its job. We’re gonna get you out of here and looked at.” You said while placing a c-collar on him.
“I’m right behind you.” Kelly said and cut the boy loose and you were moving him onto the gurney supplied by another firehouse. You rattled off the boy's condition and Kelly was just looking at you in amazement. He had liked no loved you from the moment you two had met and he wanted to be with you but he was still in his running around and sleeping around stage but after a few months he finally realized he loved you and slowed down. Now when he does it, it was to make you jealous or grab your attention but you knew him and his history of women. So, when he tried to flirt with you, you just brushed him off. He has made it his mission to get you to notice him and go out with him and maybe that would lead to some other things. It wasn't a secret that he liked you since he flirted with you nonstop, you loved it but didn't let it get you because he is a womanizer and you didn't want to be added to the list. You didn't want to be the next hook up and then he was onto the next.
The pileup was cleared and cleaned up and everyone was headed back to the station. You had dropped off the patients that you needed to. It only took 4 hours to get everything sorted out. When the trucks and ambulance was back you took the liberty of cleaning the ambulance and restocking, you claimed that it calmed you down after a call and it was satisfying. As you were doing this and lost in your own world you didn't hear Kelly walk up. “You're so sexy when you're working you know that?” He asked and you rolled your eyes.
“Sure I am.” You said, glancing at him.
“You are.” He said and you rolled your eyes and turned back to what you were doing and a smile came across your face.
“Ok, Kel.” You said using the nickname that you're only allowed to use for him. He was about to say something else but Casey called out his name and Kelly looked disappointed that he would have to leave you.
“I'll talk to you later, beautiful.” He said and turned to walk away and you turned and watched him.
You really didn't get a chance to talk to him again because either Squad 3 was called out or Ambulance 61 was. It seemed like Ambulance 61 was being called out a lot, as soon as you got back from a call you were being called to another place.
You finally got a break just 3 hrs before your shift ended and you were exhausted. As soon as you pulled into the bay and had gotten out, he was meeting you. “About time you're back. I was having a Y/N withdrawal.” He said and you tried to blush with an eye roll.
“I'm sure you were thinking about all the other women that are falling at your feet.” You said and he shook his head.
“No, you're the only one I want.” He said
“Sure, Kelly. Are you coming to Molly's after shift?” You asked changing the subject and he nodded.
“Only if you are.” He said and tucked a piece of hair behind your ear.
“Yea, I'm going. I need a few drinks after this hellacious day.” You said and he chuckled.
The rest of the shift you were cleaning, filling out paperwork, and just overall hoping another call doesn't come your way. You don't look up until Kelly is standing right in front of you. “Ready to go?” He asked and you looked at your watch and nodded.
“Yes please. I'll be happy to get out of here for a few days.” You said
“You and me both.” He said and after you got changed and headed to your car and him to his truck you two talked. Before you knew it you were following him to Molly's and parking beside him. Most of everyone else was there with you guys so it was gonna be a fun night.
You walked in and immediately saw Intelligence and some of Med there. Then you spotted Will and Jay and walked over to them. “Hey.” You said and hugged them and they hugged you back. “Did we miss anything?” You asked and they shook their heads.
“Nope it's just been boring but now that you and 51 one is it's gonna get interesting.” Will said with a smile and you rolled your eyes and pushed him.
“Oh hush.” You said and then gave the bartender your order and it was quick to arrive. The night was spent with you mingling about and gossiping with the girls from Intelligence, Med, and 51. You scanned the bar and found Kelly talking with some blonde headed woman who only wanted one thing and seemed to enjoy it and you rolled your eyes and turned back to your conversation. You loved him, you really did but you couldn't be with him especially since he loves to hook up with random women.
“What's with the face?” Hailey asked and you raised an eyebrow.
“What look?” You asked and then scanned again and still found Kelly in the same position.
“That look.” Kim said they looked where you were looking and suddenly understood.
“It’s nothing guys really.” You said not taking your eyes away from Kelly.
“You have nothing to worry about. He is absolutely in love with you. You really have tamed the flame of Kelly Severide.” Gabby said and you scoffed and looked at her.
“Yeah right. I’m gonna get another beer. Anybody want anything?” You asked and they shook their heads and you took it as your que to get up and walk to the bar. When you got to the bar you had to wait for a few minutes and that gave enough time for a guy to come over and sit down next to you.
“Now what is a beautiful girl doing up here all alone?” He said and you turned to look at him. He was a doctor, law enforcement, firefighter, or paramedic. He had dark brown hair and honey-colored eyes. You smiled at him.
“Just trying to get a drink. I’m here with some work friends.” You said and he smiled and nodded.
“What is it that you do?” He asked and you smiled and you thought that it would be nice to talk to someone outside of the firehouse.
“I’m a paramedic for Firehouse 51.” You said and he smiled.
“I’m Chad.” He said and then waved down the bartender.
“I’m Y/N.” You replied and then the bartender arrived.
“What can I get the two of you?” She asked
“I need another Coors Light and whatever this beautiful woman is having. Put it on my tab.” He said smoothly. You told her what you were drinking and she got the drinks for you and then you decided to stay and talk to this handsome stranger that goes by the name of Chad.
“You should come down to the station sometime. I’m off tomorrow and the next two days and then working again.” You said and he nodded.
“I will most certainly do that.” He said and the night just continued on. That night Chad made you forget about Kelly and you had a great time and you even went home with him.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Kelly wasn't having a good time. He was just coming over to get a drink and this random girl walked over and started chatting with him. Every now and then he would do a sweep over the bar and find you laughing and having a good time with Kim, Hailey, Gabby, Stella, and Sylvie and when he saw you laughing, he smiled. He turned back to his conversation smiling thinking of you, when he looked up, he caught your eye and his smile faded as he saw the look on his face. He was only interested in you and only you.
The next time he looked up you saw you at the bar and he was about to walk over to you but a guy beat him to it. He watched you interact with this guy and actually smile. The girl that came up to him was long forgotten and when he stopped paying attention to her, she huffed and stormed off. Now he had to stand there and watch you hit it off with Chad.
Kelly was jealous and he hated that feeling. It should be him over there with you. You should be with him. His mood had soured for the rest of the night and he turned down any other women that came up to him. He wanted you and only you. You were perfect for him. What tipped him off was when you left with Chad and he didn't see you for the rest of the night.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Over the course of the days, you were off you enjoyed some alone time and some time with Chad. It turns out he worked as a school teacher and he loved his job. Of course, you two had some fun together but it was never really serious because you loved Kelly. Over the days you were off you had lunch with Chad and it was great and you loved spending time with him. What you didn’t know was that Kelly just happened to be at the same little restaurant and noticed you and Chad and grew increasingly jealous because he wanted that to be him with you and not Chad. He just sighed and reminded himself that you both would be back at work tomorrow and then he would have you all to himself and nobody could steal you away from him.
You sighed as you pulled into the parking lot of the station and not a second later Kelly’s truck was pulling up next to you. You smiled and then got out as he did. “Good morning.” You said and he turned to look at you and gave you a nod and then walked off into the station an eyebrow raised but you shook it off and got your mind into work mode. You greeted the other crew as they were leaving and then greeted some of the others on shift with you. Not a word from Kelly and he hadn’t been seen and that worried you but you let it slide and started your shift. Right as soon as you got your outfit changed and stuff put away the bell rang for Ambulance 61 and that had you running and joining Gabby and Sylvie and you were off to the call. You looked out the window and saw Kelly looking at you but you couldn’t read his face but there was a slight frown. The call was easy and it didn’t take too long and you were back at the station in time. Gabby parked and everyone got out and you went into the kitchen to grab something to drink and you ran into Kelly. “Hey.” You said and he turned around and gave you a smile.
“Hey.” He said but it was short.
“Are you ok?” You asked and he nodded and then continued on what he was doing and you sighed. “Did I do something?” You asked and he jerked and looked at you.
“No, absolutely not. You did nothing wrong.” He said and that made you confused.
“Then why didn’t you talk to me this morning or why did I not see you until we got that call?” You asked curious.
“Trust me it is not you. It really is me. Y/N you have to understand that-” He began when Herrmann called your name and appeared into the kitchen.
“There is a Chad here for you.” He said and you nodded and gave Kelly one last look and headed to greet him. Kelly stood there for a few minutes with Herrmann.
“You love her, don’t you?” He asked and Kelly nodded.
“I do.” Kelly replied
“Then do something about it.” Herrmann said and Kelly nodded and watched his coworker walk away. That gave him time to think. He did love you and he wanted to be with you and only you. He had made up his mind and walked out of the kitchen and to where you were. He saw you laughing with Chad and that made his jealous rear its head and take control of his body. Kelly walked up with you with so much confidence, he gently spun you around and smashed his lips into yours in a hot passionate kiss that you were quick to return leaving Chad there stunned. After a minute or so a throat was being cleared and you broke apart and looked over at Chad.
“I think it is best if you go.” Kelly said and he nodded.
“I’ll see you around Y/N.” He awkwardly said.
“No, you won’t.” Kelly said and then started to drag you to his quarters. When you got there you were about to say something but he was quick to push you against the door and kiss you again this kiss was filled with want and need. “Been wanting to do that for a while now.” He said and then returned to kissing you.
“Kelly.” You moaned out and turned your head to the side giving him more access to your neck and that sweet spot. He smirked into your neck and bit that one spot that had your knee going weak. You could feel how hard he was through his pants and that made you moan and clench around nothing, you needed and wanted him at the same time. “Kel, I need you.” You moaned out and he smirked.
“You got me baby.” He said and you shook your head again.
“No, I need you to be inside of me.” You said and he grunted.
“Jump.” He said and you did and then he was turning around and walking you over to his bed, where he gently laid you down. He was quick to get your clothes off and then his was disappearing and joining yours in the pile it had created. “You are so beautiful, baby.” He said while you laid there naked in front of him and you blushed but you couldn’t help but look him up and down and then stopped at his cock and you practically started to drool. “Like what you see?” He asked and you nodded.
“Love what I see.” You said and he smirked and then was crawling up until he was seated between your legs.
“Already so wet for me and all I did was kiss you.” He said and you chuckled.
“I can’t help that you turn me on.” You said and he smirked and then parted your legs slightly and started to kiss the inside of your thighs until he got to where you needed him the most.
“Kel.” You moaned out when he licked a broad stripe up your slick folds and you swear you could’ve came right then and there. He continued his attack on your pussy and he wasn’t letting you up. Your hands went to his hair and grabbed on it and pulled his face further into you. One hand went to your hips to keep them still and down when you tried to buck up into his face and the other hand went to your pussy and rubbed your clit and then two fingers were being pushed into you and he started to slowly thrust his fingers in and out of you. Your head was thrown back in a mouth open in a slight moan, you knew you had to be quiet but with him pleasing you this good you couldn’t help but voice it. All too soon he stopped and pulled out of you licking his fingers and then took them out, he crawled up until you felt his cock nudging your opening.
“Damn you taste good. As much as I want you to cum on my face, I want you to come on my cock.” He said and again you clenched around nothing. He reached down and pumped himself and then he was slowly easing into you and attaching his lips to yours to swallow that moan that was coming out of you. You bottomed out and your hands gripped his sheets as he started his slow thrusting, he stretched you out in all the right places and filled you like nobody ever has. He was bigger than your previous lovers and you were loving it. You always dreamed about how it would be to have sex with him and you could finally say that your dreams were coming true and it was glorious. He finally released your lips when air was needed. You let out a loud moan and his hand was quick to come up and cover your mouth. “Shhhh. As much as I want to hear you, you have to be quiet.” He said and you nodded and he uncovered your mouth.
“Faster, Kel.” You said and he obliged and started to go faster. You wrapped your legs around him and locked your ankles. His arms came to rest beside your head and caged you in. You were just glad that the blinds were shut.
“Oh, baby. You’re so tight.” He moaned out and he thrusted in and hit your g-spot that had you moaning practically loud and he was quick to cover your mouth. “I told you to be quiet.” He said and made a sharp thrust into you.
“I can’t help it. You fill me up and stretch me in all the right places.” You said when he took his hand away from your mouth and that made him smirk. “I’m close.” You said and he nodded.
“I am too. Cum with me.” He said and sped up and your nails dug into his shoulder blades and he hissed. His head dropped down to your breasts and he started to give them attention and when he slightly bit your right nipple that had you cumming.
“I’m cumming, Kel.” You said and then he did it to your left and that is what you did you in. You clenched around him and that rubber band snapped and your nails went down his back leaving scratches in their wake and that was it for him.
“I am too.” He said and then his thrusts got sloppy and then he stilled inside of you. His head was thrown back and a quiet moan came out of him. After a few minutes you both came down from your high and he was collapsing next you and you turned to where you were facing him. “That was hot.” He said and you nodded. “I mean it when I said that you’re the only one for me and that you’re it for me.” He said and you smiled and looked up at him.
“I believe you. I guess Gabby was right when she said I tamed the flame.” You said and he chuckled.
“You certainly did. When I saw you talking with Chad at Molly’s I was jealous. I wanted that to be me with you.” He said
“What about that woman that you were with? You were smiling a lot.” You asked and shook his head and kissed your forehead and looked down at you.
“She came up and talked to me and I was so desperately trying to get away from her. I was smiling because I saw you laughing and having a good time with the girls.” He said and you smiled.
“I love you, Kels.” You said
“I love you too.” He said and you laid there in each other arms enjoying being there with each other. That moment didn’t last long because the bells were ringing signaling for Squad, Truck 81, and Ambulance 61 for a call. You both groaned but were quick to get dressed as you were coming out of his quarters, you ran into Gabby, Sylvie, Stella, and a few others and they just looked at you and smirked. You hurried off and with your head hung but a smirk on your face and Kelly’s. As you were about to get into the ambulance, he caught you and kissed you and you returned it but you were being pulled into the ambulance and everyone was off to the call.
“So, you and Kelly finally admitted your feelings and got together huh?” Gabby asked and you blushed.
“Oh hush.” You said and they laughed but you smiled.
You and Kelly loved each other that was for sure and now you both could be with each other. Neither of you were going to let one another go and you were ok with that. You finally tamed the flame and that flame was yours and only yours.

Intruder
Kelly x Halstead sister!reader
WC: 2700 ish
Warnings: home invasion, fighting, panic attack
Reader has a rude awakening after a night out with her brothers. She calls Jay in a panic.
---
“Another round?” Jay asked.
“Actually, I think I’m heading out. I’m beat and Kelly wanted to get breakfast after shift tomorrow.” You stood from the table you’d been sharing with your brothers for the last several hours.
“Lame. But, fine.” Jay stood and pulled you into a hug. “You good to drive?”
You laughed. “I haven’t had a drink in over two hours, Detective. I think your observational skills might need a little work.”
He wrapped his arm around your neck in a headlock. “Smart ass. Being too tired to drive is also a thing.”
“Yes, I’m fine to drive.” You started poking him repeatedly in the ribs until he finally released you. “Besides, it’s only like a twelve minute drive.”
Will got up and walked around the table to give you a hug also. “Love you, kiddo.”
“Love you guys, too. I’ll see you tomorrow night?”
“Probably,” Will answered.
“Text us when you get home,” Jay hollered after you before you could push open the heavy door of Molly’s.
You threw a thumbs up over your head as you exited.
As you parked in front of your apartment building, you reminded yourself to text them once you were inside. But as soon as you closed your door, auto-pilot took over. You dumped your keys and purse on the front table like always, then tossed your phone on your bed before heading to the bathroom. Getting ready for bed, you quickly washed your face and brushed your teeth and then threw your clothes on the floor. After putting on a comfy shirt and shorts you climbed into bed.
“Oops.” Unlocking your phone revealed two missed calls from Will and three from Jay as well as a text.
Jay: If you don’t call me back in 5 minutes I’m coming over. You chuckled as you read the message. It was from three minutes ago. You clicked the FaceTime icon for Jay.
“About time!” He answered.
“Sorry. In my head I totally texted you when I got home… but forgot to actually do it, apparently.”
He turned the phone around so you could see Will and you waved. “Glad you made it home.”
“Yup.” You waved your phone around so they could see your room. “Now I’m going to sleep. G’night.”
“Sleep tight!”
A loud bang startled you from your sleep. At first you thought it had been a nightmare, until you heard more noises. Grabbing your phone, you scurried off the bed and into the closet. You climbed in between a mountain of dirty laundry and the wall trying to make yourself as small as possible.
Opening your contacts list, you selected Jay and waited as it rang.
“Hey, you're supposed to be sleeping,” he teased as he answered the phone. It took you a moment to collect your thoughts, long enough to prompt Jay to speak again. “Hello? Did you sleep dial me?”
“S-someone is in my apartment,” you whispered, finally finding your voice.
“What?! Are you sure? Where are you? Can you get outside?” Jay peppered you with questions.
“I hear footsteps.” You took a deep breath, trying not to panic.
“Where are you?” He asked again.
“Uh, hiding in my closet.” You whispered, afraid the intruder might hear you.
“I’m coming. Just stay on the phone with me and try to be quiet.” You could hear his truck start and the tires peel out.
You nodded even though he couldn’t see you.
“Five minutes,” he told you. Then you heard him talking on his radio. “5021 George, I have an intruder at 1242 Ashland, I’m six minutes out, I need units there now.”
You heard the radio crackle before Adam spoke. “5021 Ida, I’m two minutes out from that intruder call.”
“Hear that, Y/N? Adam is almost there, okay. I’ll be right behind him.”
You heard the footsteps approaching and then enter your room. Clapping a hand over your mouth and nose, you held your breath and prayed to stay unnoticed.
Seconds later the closet door was yanked open and a flashlight beam illuminated the space. Next thing you knew you were being yanked out of the closet by your hair as you screamed. You vaguely heard Jay shouting your name from your phone as it clattered to the floor.
You kicked out, managing to connect with his knee and make him stumble.
“Fuckin’ bitch!” he roared as he lunged for you. You threw kicks and punches as best you could trying to get away from him. Eventually, you fell and he landed a hard kick to your side, knocking the air from your lungs. “I'll kill you, stupid bitch!”
You tried to kick him again but he grabbed your ankle and yanked you back towards him.
“Let her go!” You heard Adam shout before the intruder was yanked away from you.
As soon as you were free, you scurried backwards until your back hit the wall then curled your knees up to your chest and dropped your head. You were trying to make yourself small once again.
Kim finished cuffing him and Adam slowly approached you. He reached out to gently touch your shoulder causing you to flail your arms out still on edge from fighting. “No! Get off me. D-don't touch me.”
He gently grabbed your wrist to keep you from hitting him. “Hey, sweetheart. It’s just me, it’s Adam.”
You relaxed slightly, locking eyes with him but still trying to cower away from his touch. “W-Where's Jay?”
Seconds later, Jay burst through the front door as he called out for you. He slid to a stop on his knees beside you. You launched yourself into his arms. He hugged you tightly, sighing in relief that you were okay. “I got you. You’re okay.” He gently pushed you back by your shoulders so he could look at you. His eyes swept over your face, taking in the blooming bruises, the small laceration at your temple, and a split lip. “Ruzek, you call an ambo?”
“No, no, no.” You quickly protested before Adam could answer. “No ambulance. No hospital.”
“Kim did, they’re on the way,” Adam answered.
Jay shook his head. “Yeah, hospital. You gotta get checked out.”
“Please no. Just Will, please,” you begged. “And Kelly. Can you call him, please?”
“Yeah, okay,” Jay soothed. ”I’ll get him.” You heard him whisper to Adam to have the medics stand by in case Will needed them. Then he picked up his phone and dialed Kelly on speaker.
“Jay? It’s 1 am.” Kelly answered, immediately on alert.
“Hey, man,” Jay greeted. “Someone broke into Y/N’s apartment. She’s okay and we arrested the guy but she’s asking for you. Can you come over here?”
“Oh, my god. You’re sure she’s okay?”
“I'm fine,” you answered before Jay could.
“Mostly. A few bruises and pretty shaken up,” Jay explained as if you hadn't. ”Will is on his way here to check her over.”
“Okay, I have to go tell Boden and get squad taken out of service. Should I meet you guys at the hospital?” Kelly asked.
Jay sighed. “No, just head over here to her apartment. She doesn’t want to go unless Will says she has to.”
“Alright, I’ll be there as fast as I can. I'm coming, baby.” He hung up the phone.
Jay pulled you tighter against himself once more. “He will be here soon. Let’s go sit down on the couch, okay?”
Jay wrapped your blanket around your shoulders then sat down with you. Instantly burying yourself into his shoulder, you didn’t realize you were crying until Jay was shushing you. “He said he was going to—” A hash sob interrupted the thought.
“Shh, I got you. You’re okay. Just breathe.”
You weren’t sure how long you sat there, but the next thing you knew Will was sitting on your coffee table in front of you. He cautiously set his hand on your knee. “Hey, kiddo.”
Pushing yourself to sit a bit straighter, you responded simply, “Hi.”
“Can you tell me what hurts?” His eyes swept slowly over your face as he asked.
“I’m fine. Nothing really even hurts that much.”
He sighed. “You are probably still in shock. Once the adrenaline wears off, you’re going to feel it.”
He had just started to check if you had any obvious facial fractures when Kelly rushed into the apartment. “Oh, god. Sweetheart.”
Standing, you let him pull you into a tight hug. You hiccuped as you started to cry again.
He wrapped his hand around the back of your head, pulling you closer into him. “Shh, you’re okay. You’re safe now.”
After a minute, he released you, both sitting back on the couch so Will could finish. “You probably have a concussion.” He gently took your right arm in his hands. “Did you punch the guy?”
You nodded. “Uh, a couple times, I think.”
“Atta girl,” Jay muttered quietly.
“Can you make a fist?” Will asked. You did as asked. “And flatten out your hand.” Again, you did. Or at least you tried. Your pinky wasn’t quite where you knew it should be.
You watched as the three of them silently exchanged looks.
Will just nodded. “Your hand doesn’t hurt?”
Shrugging, you answered. “Uh, it’s starting to a little. But not that bad.”
“Okay, well we are going to Med,” Will told you.
“Can we not?”
Will gave you a sympathetic look. “Sorry, kiddo. Your hand is broken and—”
“Do you suddenly have x-ray vision?” You interrupted. “Maybe it’s a sprain.”
“No, you punched someone and now you can’t straighten out your pinky. Definitely broken, it’s called a boxer’s fracture,” he explained. “Hopefully, it just needs to be set and casted. We are also going to get a head CT just to be safe.”
“You said it’s just a concussion!” You whined.
“I said ‘probably, just a concussion’. But we’re getting the scan to be sure.”
“I don’t want the ambulance,” you argued.
Will rubbed your shoulder. “That’s fine. Kelly can drive you and Jay and I will follow. How’s that sound?”
You sighed and closed your eyes. “Can you do it?”
“Drive you?” Will asked.
“No. Fix my hand and the CT or whatever.”
Will shook his head. “No way Ms. Goodwin lets me treat my own sister. I will get Marcel to do it though and we will be there the whole time, okay?”
You took a deep breath to calm yourself. You knew the adrenaline in your system was crashing because everything was starting to hurt. Letting yourself settle into the safe feeling of being surrounded by Kelly and your brothers, you finally agreed. “Okay.”
“Alright. Let’s go.” Will offered you a hand to help you up off the couch.
As soon as all of you were standing, the dizziness started. It was sudden and intense. “Whoa.”
“What?” Kelly asked.
You felt yourself sway. “I'm really di–” you tried to explain as the world tilted and went dark.
“On three,” you heard someone say. “One, two, three.” You opened your eyes as you were lifted and shifted onto a bed in the ED at Med.
You heard Dr Marcel start ordering tests and Monique and Doris were on either side of you touching and moving your arms. You noticed Will, Jay, and Kelly near the door and suddenly you felt like you couldn't breathe. Your vision started to blur as your breaths came in desperate gasps. It sounded like you were in a tunnel, everything distorted and far away.
Will stepped closer and took your good hand in his, squeezing firmly. You saw his lips moving but couldn't make out the words. Then Kelly moved, he placed his hands on either side of your face forcing your focus to his eyes. You saw the tears welling along his lower lashes. “Come on baby, just breathe.” His voice broke through the haze.
“I-I-I can-can't,” you pushed out through stuttered breaths.
“Yes, you can.” He took a slow deep breath, your body naturally trying to follow suit. “Just slow, deep breaths. They don't want to have to sedate you before they assess the concussion. You're safe, I promise.”
You finally managed to slow your breathing and nod. “I'm safe,” you repeated.
Kelly smiled before kissing your forehead. “Doris is just going to check your vitals and Monique is going to start an IV. You know them both, right?”
You nodded. “Okay.”
You managed to stay calm for the next hour as you were poked and prodded, x-rayed, rolled upstairs for a CT scan, and asked what felt like a million questions about what had happened. Kelly sat by your side, holding your hand, for most of that time while your brothers stood nearby but out of the way.
By the time they were done running tests and resetting your hand, you were beyond exhausted. But you couldn't sleep. Every time you closed your eyes you saw his face and jolted awake.
Will and Dr Marcel were standing near the light board talking before they turned their attention back to you. “No facial fractures or broken ribs and only a mild concussion.” Dr Marcel explained. “I know you're probably tired. You can go ahead and get some rest. We will move you upstairs just for observation until tomorrow.”
Tears welled up in your eyes, you just wanted to go to Kelly’s loft where he could hold you in bed and hopefully you'd finally fall asleep. “Can't I go home? Kelly knows what to watch for.” You weren't above begging.
Dr Marcel shook his head. “Just tonight to be safe.” Will nodded his agreement and you felt a tear slide down your face.
Kelly wiped it away quickly. “It's just one night, sweetheart. Barely. It's already after 3 am.”
“I know. But I just want you to hold me,” a sob broke free with the last word. “I keep seeing h-him. I can't fall asleep.”
Quicker than you could process, Kelly released the side rail on the bed and shifted in beside you carefully. He pulled you into his chest and peppered kisses across the top of your head. “I can still do that. I'm right here.”
Will came in the door with Monique close behind. You hadn't even noticed him leaving. Monique quickly flushed your IV before pushing medication through the line. “Just something to help you sleep,” Will explained. “Tomorrow you can talk to Dr Charles and he can help. Deal?”
Your eyelids fluttered closed moments later. “Mmhmm,” you mumbled. “Deal.”
When you woke, the sun was bright through the window. You realized immediately that you weren't in the ED anymore. Kelly was in a chair on your left with his head rested beside your leg on the bed, fast asleep. Jay sat in a chair on your right, scrolling on his phone. And Will was pacing between the door and the foot of your bed.
You took a deep breath and shifted slightly causing pain to shoot through every bruise and sore muscle. “Owww,” you whined, alerting your brothers that you were awake.
Will was beside you in a flash. “What hurts?”
You winced. “Might be quicker to tell you what doesn't.”
He ran his fingers softly over the top of your head. “I'll go get you another dose of morphine, okay?”
“Yes, please.” You agreed as he headed out of the room.
You lifted your hand and dropped it on Kelly’s head, startling him awake. “Hey, sweetheart,” he greeted.
Will came back and pushed the meds. The pain dwindled almost instantly. “You ready to get out of here?”
You nodded eagerly.
“Marcel is signing your discharge papers as we speak so we can head out here soon,” Will explained.
“I don't want to go back to my apartment,” you told them.
Kelly shook his head. “You can't anyway. You're coming home with me.”
You shook your head and he frowned. “No, I mean… I don't think I ever want to go back.”
Kelly chuckled. “Do you want to move in with me?”
“I don't want to just because I'm afraid to go back to mine. I don't want to rush into that if you're not ready.”
“I'm ready. We're ready,” he started. “I was planning to ask you before your lease renewed anyway.”
You smiled. “Maybe I should thank that creep for making this happen early.”
“That's not funny,” Jay chimed in.
“I agree,” Kelly added. “I'm just glad you're okay.”
“Us, too,” Will said. “I never want to see you in here again.
"Not even to have lunch with my favorite brother?" you asked.
"Hey!" Jay protested. "I'm right here."
"Smart ass," Will rolled his eyes. "You know that's not what I meant."
“Yeah, yeah... I'll do my best.”

Unexpected
Warnings: Mentions of pregnancy and childbirth
Summary: For nine months, you'd prepared and expected a baby but something unexpected happens.
A/N: Hello! I was back at school this week and have been so drained from the work load so I'm here relaxing and writing away. I only know surface level stuff so I'm sorry for any medical inaccuracies. Exams are next week so I won't be writing anything then. This is unedited and I apologise but please do enjoy!!!!
Four years into your marriage with Kelly, two years with infertility issues, you had come to the point of acceptance and making the possible choice of fostering or adoption.
But then one day you got shot at work and when treating you, the doctor gave you the unexpected news.
You couldn't believe it. You were finally pregnant. After so much struggle, IVF and the unsuccessful tests, you were finally pregnant. You could finally have the family you dreamed of having as a little girl.
You weren't allowed back onto the field. Hank benching you to desk work till your baby welcomed itself. A choice that made you very angsty to get up and be on the move.
You didn't feel like much of a detective being sat at a desk all day while the rest of Intelligence went running around ragged looking and catching bad guys.
So during the moments of peace, you found yourself driving to the firehouse to bother your husband and the people he considered family.
The men and women of 51 loved you as much as they did Kelly, you were one of their own and you were doing the impossible by growing and delivering a mini Kelly Severide into the world.
Kelly rolled his eyes every time you brought up the gender. Call it mothers intuition but you had a gut feeling that you were having a boy, a concept which Kelly didn't mind but thought otherwise.
Refusing to find out the gender, you preferred to watch everyone wait impatiently, their bets pilling up as they put money on your baby's gender.
You scoffed seeing Kim and Hailey 'sneakily' pass money over to Cruz one night at Molly's.
The pregnancy flew by. Small milestones of your belly popping, the first kicks, the weird cravings and watching the growing blob develop on an ultrasound was so surreal but before anyone knew it, you were already hitting the nine month mark.
You left early. Today's case was running late and another murder got called it close to midnight, you were no longer needed and your husband sat at home. The thought of foot massage was ever so enticing.
Said man welcomed you home with the tea that soothed your nausea, your nightly snack at the go and he looked just delicious sitting in his pyjamas.
Pregnancy hormones man. Who would've thought.
And just like every night, the day ended with both of you in bed, his hands gently caressing your ballooning stomach, talking and debriefing with your unborn baby, smiling when a particular comment elicited a kick, showing the imprint on a foot against your skin.
Falling asleep wasn't easy though, especially with the new addition of Braxton hicks. You always found yourself tossing and turning, pushing Kelly to the other side of the bed so you could be left alone with the other love of your life: your pregnancy pillow. The triangular pillow a dream come true.
Eventually, you got up to refill your bottle and water, taking a quick pee because the pressure on your bladder was stupid.
Taking out some ice cubes from the ice tray, you slowly plonked them into your bottle, your eyes heavy with the sleep that refused to come from such a long day at work.
"Baby? Why are you awake?" Kelly's voice was hoarse as he appeared in the kitchen, his hair a mess as he rubbed the sleep away from his eyes.
"Your son is playing football in here. He's already obsessed." You whispered back, letting him recollect himself as he made his way towards you, watching through bleary eyes as you closed the freezer door.
"My son huh? Well I think our daughter is just really excited to meet her very impatient parents." Kelly smirked, his arms circling around your waist before he crouched down to be face level with your protruding stomach.
"Hey baby girl." He whispered, his eyes focused on your stomach and nowhere else. "Your mummy is very tired after working all day. She needs all the sleep before you come home. Do you think you could do me a favour?"
You smiled softly at the sight. Your husband was already smitten and the baby wasn't even here yet.
A few seconds passed and all of a sudden, the little football match came to an end.
You scoffed, looking down at your husband incredulously. "Wow."
Standing back up, Kelly now smiled down at you. "Obviously, I'm the favourite parent."
"Watch it lieutenant." You pouted, poking his chest. "I've got some detectives in my back pocket."
Smiling at each other, basking in the silence and warm lighting, you almost forgot about your sleep deprivation.
Breaking you out of your thoughts was the sound of water dripping, Kelly's face mirroring your thoughts.
"Did you leave the tap on?"
You frowned, you were sure you-
Your mind went blank the millisecond you registered your wet trousers.
Looking down at where your feet would've been had it not been for your stomach being in the way, you swore lightly under your breath.
"I think he interpreted your words differently." You said, looking back up at Kelly who stood astonished.
"Baby's coming today."
*****
You didn't go to the hospital straight away.
Instead, you wiped yourself down and changed clothes while Kelly cleaned up and brought out your already packed hospital bag all while timing the length and time between your contractions.
The sun was rising when you made your way to the hospital, your midwife already in the loop the moment your water broke.
Settling into your room, dressed in your gown, you sighed.
You were bored. What were you supposed to do while you waited for the birth to get into motion.
Your epidural had been confirmed and scheduled for later on when your contractions progressed further. The nurse had just come to measure you before leaving.
You sent a quick text to Hank, apologising for such short notice, saying your maternity leave would start earlier than planned. Kelly had just called Boden, his shift starting not too long ago.
"Boden's got Cruz covering for me." Kelly said, putting his phone in his pocket as he stood by your bedside.
"I'm all yours for the next few weeks."
"I would love you so much if you could just-" You sharply inhaled at the painful contraction, doing the breathing exercises you practised with your midwife. "Just get this baby out."
"How about we go on a walk? Might help speed things up."
All Kelly was met with were your grabby hands.
*****
Several hours later and you were in active labour.
You were surrounded by nurses and the doctor, Kelly glued to your side but at some point when you were pushing, he was ushered away by a nurse who you briefly heard mention the words 'umbilical cord'.
"It's a girl!"
You choked back a sob, your eyes watery as they placed your daughter on your chest for skin-to-skin. Your hands immediately flew to hold her. Your emotions so haywire that you couldn't care less about the cleanliness of her little body.
Inhaling shakily, you looked up through tears at Kelly who was back at your side. He kissed your forehead multiple times, his hand on top of yours so you could both hold your baby.
After a few minutes, she was carefully taken away to be weighed and clean, leaving you and Kelly to revel alone. Reality came crashing down: you had a daughter, your had a-
"Mrs Severide, what's wrong?"
Hearing the doctors question, Kelly looked away from your daughter and back down at you in alarm, his eyes wide in confusion at your own confused face.
"I- I feel..."
You weren't able to finish as you were overcome with the sudden need to push.
It seemed that even without you voicing your thoughts, they knew exactly what was happening.
"Okay Y/N, we go again." The OB said as you squeezed the blood out of Kelly's hand. "Push just like you did."
The next few moments felt like a blur. You weren't too sure what was reality and what was an illusion - everything was happening too fast for you to comprehend what was actually happening.
All of a sudden, a second cry broke out, as loud and high-pitched as the first.
"It's a girl!"
You blinked, your head clearing up.
"Congratulations! Two beautiful girls!"
Then the apparent second baby was placed on your chest, a routine that was just performed not even ten minutes ago.
The tears were flowing now with nothing to stop them. Your shaky hands went to hold her small body as the clouds dissipated and the sky finally cleared.
*****
The two baby beds were rolled towards your bed, Kelly standing up when the nurses entered the recovery room.
"Congratulations mum and dad!" One of the nurses started.
"You have two healthy identical twin girls."
You couldn't believe it, no one could.
There was never a point during the nine months of pregnancy that would even suggest you having twins and now all of a sudden, your leaving the hospital with two twin girls.
You were so lost in your thoughts that you didn't hear Kelly's conversation with the nurses.
"Kelly..." You looked at your husband who was just as shocked as you. "Kelly we have two babies."
"We have twin girls babe." Kelly emphasised, his stupid smile covering his entire face.
"We're not even prepared for one let alone two." You said, sitting up to pick one of them up. "Baby- oh my gosh, we have twins."
Before Kelly could reply, the room door opened and Matt poked his head in. "Knock Knock, can we-"
Matt stopped himself as he laid eyes on the baby on your chest and then the baby that was being picked up by Kelly.
"Matt, move out the way, let me see-" Sylvie barely stopped herself from squealing as she saw the two babies.
"Holy shit, twins?!" Matt half frowned, following Sylvie to your side. "When did this even happen?"
"Literally an hour ago man." Kelly said in greeting to his best friend. "No one had any idea."
"AH- two girls! Congratulations, oh my gosh I'm so happy for you guys." Sylvie gushed, cooing at the little bundles in your arms.
"Oh yeah, Jay and Hailey were somewhere behind us."
Another knock sounded just as the words came from Matt, the door creaking open for the blonde detective to make herself known.
"Y/N, hey-" Hailey gasped so loudly that Jay's swearing could be heard from inside the room.
"Woah." Jay's lack of words proved his surprise.
You and Kelly laughed.
"Well Kelly was right, they're girls."
Jay and Sylvie high-fived, their smirks making it evident they were on the winning side of the bet.
"This is definitely unexpected. I have no idea how we're going to manage." You said, handing one baby off to Hailey while Kelly lay the other into Matt's outstretched arms.
"That's what we're here for, along with the rest of 51 and Intelligence." Sylvie said, looking fondly at the baby in Matt's arms as she held your hand in both of hers comfortingly.
"You've got a very big family ready to help. We're first responders, it's our job."
You hugged the blonde, overcome with sudden emotion.
"Besides," Jay spoke up, gently taking the baby from Hailey's arms into his. "What godparents would we be?"
The room dissolved into laughter.
You had two adorable girls and an entire village at your beck and call. While unexpected, they were more than welcome with open arms and open hearts.

Life Lines- Severide x Casey x reader
Summary: Multi-car pileups and morning sickness do not mix.
🚨Warnings: Illusion to people/ children dy!ng, possibly violent descriptions of vomiting, Needles mentioned. 🚨
🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨
Calls with kids were always rough, but even worse since you found out you were pregnant. Right now, while you were pregnant at least, you are driving the truck and operating the aerial. You were to help ambo on any calls that did not impose a safety concern to you and the baby.
On this particular call, truck was called out to assist in a major car accident. Squad was tied down elsewhere, so you guys were it. Upon arrival, you all sucked in a huge breath.
“Holy shit.” Gallo muttered, staring right past your shoulder at the scene you were pulling the rig up to.
This was a multi-car pileup. Bodies were scattered around. Bystanders were helping wherever they could until help arrived, but you could tell some were a lost cause. As soon as you put the rig in park, the back cleared pretty quickly. Matt grabbed your arm from across the console.
“Hey.” Matt whispered, lightly rubbing a hand over your arm. “You can stay here or help ambo. No heavy lifting, okay?” Matt asked, slightly concerned with the paleness of your face.
You nodded, not daring to open your mouth. From your vantage point, you saw a small body in the street. As soon as you approached, your eyes landed on him and you knew that kid was in bad shape. It made you physically sick. You could tell he hadn’t been properly buckled, which means someone fucked up and that made you angry and sick all at the same time.
——————————————
Once the call was over, Matt decided that Mouch needed to drive back. The crew was extremely concerned by how pale you had gotten and Stella was in charge of keeping an eye on you on the ride back. Matt messaged Kelly, knowing that he was already back at the station, to give him a heads up and have him meet them on the app floor.
So, once Mouch had the rig still, Kelly was waiting for you to hop out of the rig and into his arms. What he wasn’t expecting, however, was for you to run past him and toward the bathrooms. He was quick on your heels, putting the situation together pretty quickly.
Once you were in one of the stalls, you immediately projectile vomited into the toilet. If it wasn’t for Kelly catching you around the waist and slowly guiding your ascent to the floor, you would have slammed onto your knees and possibly hit your belly on the way down.
“Oh baby.” Kelly exhaled, kneeling behind you and rubbing your back with the hand that wasn’t secured around your chest. “It’s okay. I’m here.”
Matt came barging in after you started heaving the second round into the toilet. “I knew something was up, God babe. I should have benched her.” Matt couldn’t fit in the stall and he was growing antsy as he stressed over your well being. He paced back and forth, rubbing the back of his neck as he pondered on what his next move should be. “You got her Kel?”
“Yeah.” Kelly said, lightly squeezing the back of your neck and holding you by the waist. “Can you get some water and a wash cloth? Maybe see if Brett is here and can get her some Zofran?”
“I’m on it. I’ll be right back sweetheart.” Matt called, running out the door and toward the ambo that was parked on the apparatus floor. He wasn’t sure if you could hear him, but it made him feel less like he was abandoning you when you needed him.
“Breathe baby girl. Just breathe.” Kelly murmured, rubbing your back slowly. He didn’t like the pallor of your face or the way you shook in his embrace. He wants nothing more than to have shielded you from this or to switch places with you.
You were sweating and very uncomfortable. The nausea was hitting you hard and in waves. You were still in the first trimester and the morning sickness had been killer, but this was insane. Your emotions were making this so much worse. You gasped around a heave, shaking and crying as your body fought to rid itself of everything in your system.
“Baby. I need you to try and calm down.” Kelly whispered. “It’s okay. Try to take some deep breaths for me. You can do it.” He coached, hoping to help calm you down some.
You nodded to show Kelly that you heard him. You were really trying and you were hoping that Matt would be back with that Zofran soon. Everything was spinning. You were vomiting less, but your stomach kept heaving. You held your forehead with one hand and clutched Kelly’s arm with the other. You were doing your best to ground yourself, but it was a slow, and almost hopeless, process.
Matt came back into the room as you started just dry heaving. He had a needle full of Zofran and an IV with a bag of fluids in the other. “Kelly.” Matt called, grabbing his attention for long enough to hand over the needle.
Kelly gave you the shot of Zofran, took the sick bag that Matt must of pulled out of his pocket and put it in your hand. Kelly guided you out of the stall and lifted you gently to sit you on the counter by the sink. Matt flushed the toilet before coming back to you and Kelly with the supplies from Brett in his arms. You had the sick bag under your chin and your forehead resting on Kelly’s shoulder. Every now and then, you would gag into the sick bag, causing your forehead to bump into Kelly’s collar bone, but he held you steady and comforted you through it.
“Sh Sh Sh. Breathe sweetheart.” Kelly whispered, kissing the crown of your head and rubbing your back. “It’s over. It’s okay.” Kelly turned his eyes to Matt in the mirror. Matt was chewing on his thumb nail and studying you. “What is it?” Kelly asked Matt, drawing Matt’s attention to him.
“There was this kid on the call.” Matt said, rubbing the back of his neck. “I think that’s what started this.”
You nodded into Kelly to confirm Matt’s suspicions. You were breathing a little slower now, practically melting into Kelly. You were exhausted and wanted nothing more than to go home and snuggle with your boys.
Kelly nodded and kissed your head again. Since Kelly was sure you were done, he offered you some water to rinse with and some mouth wash. Matt switcher places with Kelly then handed over the IV to let him get the line in, seeing as Matt was shaking from the adrenaline high he was coming down from and did not have steady hands at all. You have always been a hard stick to begin with, so Matt wanted to save you from the torture of him digging for a vein and just let Kelly do it.
You closed your eyes, turning your face into Matt’s neck while Kelly did his thing incase you opened your eyes. You knew you needed these fluids now, especially after that episode and with the shot you were given. You didn’t like it, but it had to be done. Plus, the faster you complied, the faster you could lay down.
After the IV was in and the fluids were started, Matt held the bag while Kelly helped you change out and get into some sweat pants. The boys led you to their office, which they now shared. They laid you down and Kelly set off to speak to Boden about the rest of shift.
Matt sat down next to your half asleep form, pushing the flyaways off of your face. “Better?” He whispered, looking you directly in the eyes.
You nodded and hummed your affirmation. You were exhausted. You were fighting to stay awake to see what the rest of the shift would bring.
Kelly walked back in a few minutes later and found Matt carding his fingers through your hair. “Hey. Chief said that he called subs in for all of us. We can go home after you finished the drip or stay and sleep.”
“It’ll be quieter at home.” Matt said, looking down at you again.
“I’m scared to sleep. I don’t want to see it.” You whispered, covering your face with your hands.
Matt sighed and started pulling your hands away from your face. “I know. We will be there though.” Matt soothed, rubbing your cheek with the pad of his thumb.
“Finish that and then we’ll go home. You and the baby need rest.” Kelly said, coming to sit next to you on the other side of the mattress. You nodded and reached for their hands, using them as your life lines.

Casual (k.s.)
Fandom/Characters: Chicago Fire - Kelly Severide x Fem!Reader, Matt Casey
Word Count: 2.6k
Summary: Agreeing to a friends with benefits deal with Kelly Severide to blow of some steam after shifts seemed like a great idea in the beginning. What happens when one of you starts to catch feelings?
Warnings: 18+ (no actual smut written but don't read if implication of it makes you uncofmy) - slight ooc kelly? hurt/comfort, mention of child death, fires, angst, pet names, fluff, implied smut, cursing, mention of sex, drinking, arguments, kissing, happy ending
a/n: i’ve been a matt girl since the moment i started watching chicago fire but recently i’ve been obsessed with kelly so this fic is a result of said obsession! also this was a bit rushed so ignore that lol but it was kinda inspired by the song casual by chappell roan so if you want, give it a listen while reading :) oh by the way the gif??? it’s gonna be the end of me- my god. anyways, enjoy <3
You were at Molly’s, nursing your third glass of wine for the night, hoping to forget about the terrible shift you just had.
It wasn’t supposed to be this way. It was supposed to be a quick in and out, but the universe had different plans. Thinking back, you start wondering what had gone wrong.
Truck and Ambo were called to a small fire at a local café. At first, it seemed like a minor incident, just burnt toast that had accidentally caught fire. What you hadn't realized, though, was that one of the stoves had been left on accidentally, causing gas to slowly leak out.
Upon arrival, your Lieutenant, Matt Casey, instructed Otis and you to escort everyone from the sitting area. Fortunately, there were only a few customers that day, making your job easier.
As you began ushering everyone out, a mother approached you and expressed concern that her six-year-old daughter was still inside. You asked Otis to stay with her before assuring her that you would locate her daughter.
Once the building was evacuated and Herrmann was preparing to hose down the kitchen, you radioed in about the missing girl and announced that you were going back inside to find her. Casey advised you to hurry up before the situation escalated making you nod and rush in.
Heading back in, you immediately began searching for the little girl. You called out to her, but there was no response. After checking the bathroom, you noticed her unconscious form lying under the sink. Your heart sank. You quickly checked her pulse and realized how faint it was. You removed your mask and placed it on her, hoping it would help her breathe. Once the mask was on, you swiftly picked her up and hurried towards the exit.
Passing by the kitchen, you didn't notice how the stove was on. You should have. You don't know how you didn't. It was your job to notice these things but you were in such a rush that it slipped your eye. The realization only dawned on you when you heard Herrmann yelling for everyone to exit the area because of leaking gas and by then, the explosion had already occurred.
The impact sent you stumbling backward, causing you to tumble to the ground with the girl in your arms. Casey’s voice crackled through the radio, but the ringing in your ears muffled the words. You couldn't seem to stop coughing and your head was throbbing making your vision start to blur. You felt yourself succumbing to the darkness, but you fought to regain your composure and struggled to stand up.
Once the initial shock had worn off, you quickly got up and made it to the exit, disregarding your injuries, only concerned about passing the girl off to Gabby and Shay. They tried their best, you know they did, but the girl was dead before you even got to them. The explosion had killed her. The explosion you should have seen coming.
That six-year-old girl passed away, and it was all your fault.
You were snapped out of your thoughts when you heard the sound of your name. It was Kelly, the Lieutenant of Rescue Squad 3, and one of your closest friends, whom you were currently sleeping with.
A few months ago, after a particularly difficult shift, Severide and you had accidentally ended up spending the night together. Since then, you two agreed to keep it casual— no strings attached, friends with benefits, if you will. Both of you promised to break it off if one of you started to catch feelings and that seemed reasonable to you.
“Rough day?” He asked taking a seat on the barstool beside you.
“Six-year-old kid died in my arms, so I'd say so.” You say looking down at your glass, twirling the liquid around mindlessly.
“Wanna talk about?”
“Nope, but I do want to get out of here. Your place? It’s closer.” You glanced at him, and he caught on to what you meant in an instant; you needed to let out your frustrations.
He nodded as you downed the rest of your wine and you two headed back to his apartment without any further questions.
You woke up the next day with an arm draped over your torso. You didn’t think much of it until you realized whose arm it was.
Shit.
You had never stayed over. You guys had never spent the night together to keep the feelings at bay. This was uncharted territory. So to say this was going to be awkward would be an understatement.
You attempted to quietly pull his arm away without waking him, but as soon as you made contact, you noticed him starting to stir.
“Good morning baby,” he voiced, groggily.
“Morning Kell,” You replied, blushing at the unexpected name.
“How are you feeling?” He asked, referencing the reason you were at the bar in the first place.
“Better.” You replied as you turned to face him. “Thank you.”
He didn't say anything, instead simply pulling you in for a quick kiss, letting you know he was there for you.
After pulling away, you decided it was time to get up. Popping the little bubblle you were in and ending the moment you shared.
“I'm gonna get dressed and head out, I didn't mean to stay over- just got carried away. I know we don't do that so I'll leave, sorry.”
“Y/N wait up-” He says, catching your attention.
“Yeah?” You turn around to look at him.
“I don't mind that you stayed, I know you had a tough day yesterday so it's fine. Make yourself at home sweetheart.”
The nickname caught you off guard once more. It wasn't unusual for him to shower you with praise and call you these names during sex. But afterwards? He'd never spoken to you that way and the sudden change was putting your heart in a whirl.
You sighed trying to regain your composure. “Yep, thanks. I'll uhh… I’ll see you at shift.” You brushed him off, smiling.
Since that day, the dynamic between you two has shifted noticeably. Others at the firehouse have started to take note of it as well. He's become more attentive. Making sure he has a meal saved for you when you're too busy to eat, accompanying you home from Molly's when you've had a few drinks, and checking in on you after difficult calls.
It wasn't just him, though. You’ve been overly caring with him too, more than a friend should be. When he discovered he had a half-sister, you stood by him. You supported him in reaching out to her. And when she was going through a rough patch after her kidnapping? You were the one on the phone talking her down when she made the decision to move to Colorado.
After all your help, his mother even invited you to her house as a token of gratitude. You never intended to become so involved with him and his family, it changed how you saw him.
You heard the rumors, you knew he was a player— a womanizer who didn't care about anything except his pleasure. But witnessing his interactions with his family alongside the kindness he's been treating you with recently? It was coming to be harder and harder to view him as selfish and uncaring.
The line between friends and lovers was becoming increasingly blurry. Yet you were still trying your hardest to avoid the development of feelings because you knew once you crossed that threshold, there was no going back.
You were walking towards the kitchen when you caught Casey and Severide engaging in conversation by the coffee pot.
You didn't mean to eavesdrop but hearing your name leave Matt’s lips made you stop dead in your tracks.
“What's going on between you and her?” He asked.
“Nothing. It’s all casual. She's nothing more than a friend, Case. We're not together.” Kelly replied, a little too firmly.
Ouch.
You knew nothing was going on between the two of you but hearing that coming from him? It hurt more than you'd like to admit.
You imagined sharing an apartment, perhaps a year or so from now and spending the coming years wrapped in each other's arms, building a family. You chuckled to yourself at the fact that you even thought that was a possibility at some point. Realizing now how naive it was to believe he would ever view you as anything more than a fuckbuddy. Oh, how you loved being stupid.
You spent the rest of the shift avoiding him. It wasn't fair to him; after all, he didn't know you had overheard. Your feelings were your problem, and it wasn't right to act as though he were responsible. Yet, facing him felt impossible without making a fool of yourself.
You found yourself at Molly’s again. Downing shot after shot. You knew you were way past your limit but the lack of Kelly Severide-related thoughts in your brain was encouraging you to continue.
It had gotten to the point where you noticed Herrmann giving you shots of water instead but you were too far gone to care.
You were about to request another real shot when you felt a presence next to you. You turned your head to the side and saw the one person you were trying to forget about.
Lieutenant Kelly Severide.
“You've been avoiding me.” He said, less of a question and more of a statement, keeping his eyes on you.
You hated how small he made you feel, like he could read you in just one glance. His intense gaze made you look away before trying to find Herrmann. “I have not. Now excuse me, I was about to order another drink.”
“You don't need another one.” He said, grabbing your shoulders and turning you back around to face him.
“What are you? My boyfriend? We’re just friends Severide, you don't get to make that decision for me.” You wouldn't have usually been that snarky but the alcohol in your system was giving you courage you didn't know you had.
He was taken aback by your response, you were never like this with him. It was worrying him.
He tried to help you stand up, “Y/N c’mon let's get you home.”
You reluctantly agreed. You knew you were going to regret this in the morning but at the moment, you didn't care. He started walking you towards the exit when you pulled yourself away from him and spoke up, “I don't need a babysitter. I can walk by myself.”
“If you actually think I'm letting you walk home, drunk and alone at this time of night, then you're crazy.” He replied casually while walking beside you.
You stopped abruptly and sighed, looking down. “Why do you do that?”
“Do what?” He questioned, placing his finger under your chin bringing your face up to meet his.
“Why do you act like you care?” You clarified, holding his stare, pretending his touch wasn't erupting fireworks in your stomach.
“I do care! I care more about you than you realize Y/N.” He said a bit too loudly, raising his hands in exaggeration.
“You're not supposed to!” You shouted back.
“Why not? Is it such a crime to care about my friend?” He replied, exasperated and upset.
There it was. The dreaded ‘friend.’ You knew it was coming. So why did it still shock you?
“I- I can't do this Kelly- I'll just call a cab to take me home, you don't need to walk me. Forget anything happened.” You said turning around, ignoring his objections, calling your name.
You spent your days off moping around. Kelly had called you multiple times and left countless messages, but you couldn't bring yourself to respond. You knew you were being childish, but it didn't matter. The thought of going back to work and having to face him filled you with dread but that was a problem for later. Right now, you have errands to run.
While you were getting dressed, you absentmindedly opened the drawer meant for Kelly. You couldn't avoid him, he seemed to be everywhere you looked. Your phone, your workplace, and now, your dresser.
You sighed. The fact that you two had separate drawers designated for one another at each other's homes, slipping your mind completely. Is that something friends with benefits did? Did they keep clothes at the other’s place to ‘make it easier for them to get dressed?’
Your thoughts were cut short when you heard a knock at your door. You weren't expecting anyone but opened the door regardless not guessing who you’d see on the other side.
You found yourself face-to-face with none other than the man who had been plaguing your thoughts nonstop. However, after avoiding him for so long, you didn't know what to say or how to act. You felt like you’d never been in such close proximity with him before, it was suffocating. So you simply stood there until he eventually spoke.
“We need to talk.” He stated simply.
“What's there to talk about?” You asked, avoiding his eyes.
“This. Us.” He said, motioning between the two of you.
You finally took a good look at him, you noticed the heavy bags under his eyes and the weary slump of his shoulders. It was clear that he was utterly exhausted, as if he hadn't slept at all in the last few days. And the simple thought of the reason for his exhaustion being you, made you feel terrible.
“Severide-” You couldn’t let this drag on for any longer without hating yourself, so you took a deep breath and continued, “I think we should end this arrangement that we have.”
“What?” He furrowed his brows.
“We agreed that once one of us starts catching feelings, we'd end it. So let's end it before it gets messy and hurts either of us more than it should.” You tried closing the door once you were done speaking but he quickly squeezed himself in, preventing your attempts at pushing him away.
“What are you doing?” You asked following him into your apartment.
“That's not fair!” He exclaims, “You don't get to ignore me for days and then just end our relationship and shut me out.”
“This was hardly a relationship.” You scoff, “But, what did you want me to do Kelly!?” You matched his volume, watching as he paced in the middle of your living room.
“I don't know, maybe talk to me about how you're feeling!” He said, tone dripping with sarcasm while glaring at you. If looks could kill, you'd be six feet under right about now.
“Oh, that's really mature coming from you! Mr. Expert at communication.” You replied with just as much pettiness as you could muster, stepping closer to him to prove a point.
He stood silent for a moment before taking a deep breath and approaching you, “Maybe you're right, maybe we do need to end this thing we have. I just thought we cared about us enough to at least talk it out.”
The two of you now stood face to face, your breaths labored and eyes locked in an unbreakable gaze. Silence enveloped the space between you, the tension so thick that it felt tangible like it could be sliced through with a knife.
“I’m sorry.” You said quietly. “I shouldn't have ignored you and I also shouldn't have just sprung that on you.”
Once you noticed he was letting you continue, you went on, “I just realized that I couldn't be as ‘casual’ about our relationship as you are anymore. I tried to hold my tongue and ignore the feelings I have for you, but it was getting harder Kelly. Nothing about our deal has been casual for weeks now and it was starting to affect me.” You finally let out.
He took in your words, shaking his head. “It hasn't been casual for me either Y/N. I love you, and have for a very long time.”
The force of his words hit you like a physical blow. Love? How did he claim to love you when he had not only never hinted at such feelings before but also dismissed Casey when he asked about it? You were confused and it was evident on your face with the way you looked at him, shell-shocked.
“You love me? But you told Casey that there was nothing going on between us and-”
You were quickly cut off by his hands on your face, pulling you in. The intensity of his lips against yours short-circuited your entire being. It took a moment for your brain to register what was happening, but soon you found yourself reciprocating his kiss.
While you and he had shared kisses in the past, this one was different. It wasn't hurried like your usual kisses but instead filled with a deep sense of passion, tender and slow, and brimming with love and adoration for one another.
He placed his hands gently on your waist, drawing you closer, deepening the kiss. You raised your arms, threading your fingers through his hair, feeling the slight tug as you did. It was as if your lips were pulled together by an irresistible force, making it difficult to part.
You wanted time to freeze in that beautiful moment so you could stay in it forever. You wished to remain embraced by him indefinitely. His touch was tender and affectionate, brimming with care. It felt as though both of you had shed all your worries and were completely immersed in the love surrounding you.
You tentatively ended the kiss and gazed into his eyes, which stemmed a love you had never felt from him before. For the first time, they didn't overwhelm you or make you feel small; instead, they enveloped you in a sense of comfort. And in that fleeting beat, his eyes spoke volumes even when his words remained silent.
“I love you too.” You said, sharing his sentiment, causing a grin to emit on both of your faces.
You felt like a teenager who was experiencing love for the first ever time; and you wouldn't want it any other way.

Firmly wrapped in your robe, Kelly danced you out of the en suite towards your bed.
“That was-“ he started, collapsing on the bed.
“The most fun I’ve had in a long time.” You kissed him.
Alexis started to fuss. You both looked at each other, half smiling, half trying to figure out your excuse for the other to get the baby.
“You should get her,” you chuckled.
“Why?”
“I don’t think I can move,” you laughed, getting cuddled up under the blankets.
“And you think I can?” he laughed, “we haven’t done it like that since our wedding night.”
“It’s a good thing you didn’t forget babe.”
Kelly got up from the bed, threw a pair of boxers on from the hook by the door and grabbed Alexis from her crib in the next room.
“I’m not going to be very much help here,” he called out to you, “she’s hungry.”
“Can you bring her in here?” You asked, propping yourself up against the headboard.
“Already here,” he chuckled, cradling yourself fussy baby in his arms.
“This avoiding-a-bottle thing is getting really annoying,” you say, positioning the baby against the freshly warmed skin of your chest.
“Baby, I think you’re going to miss this sooner than you think.”
You shrugged, pulling the blankets up to keep you and Alexis warm. Kelly sat beside you on the bed, rubbing your leg.
“I think she’s almost done, can you take her back when she’s done?”
“Of course. Just let me know when you’re ready.”
After a few more minutes passed, Alexis was finished and you handed her off to Kelly.
Removing your robe, you changed into your favourite pajamas, one of Kelly’s old squad 3 T-shirts and a pair of shorts from the when you were in college. Both garments feeling a bit tighter than they used to after having Alexis.
When Kelly returned, he laid back in the bed, watching you finish changing before getting back into the king size bed.
He placed his hand on your stomach, “thank you for carrying our baby and keeping her safe all those months.”
You leaned up to kiss him, unsure of what to say next, “when do you want the one?”
Kelly was taken aback by the question, “I’m still not ready for Alexis, I don’t think I’m going to be ready for a long time.”
Clearly saddened by his response, the gears in your mind started turning a mile a minute, “well, I-“
“Wait, babe. What I mean is I don’t think there’s a right time to have another baby. Once you’re physically and mentally and emotionally ready, that’s when I will be ready. I had doubts when you told me you were pregnant and we were having our first baby unexpectedly, but you’ve been so amazing through everything.”
You sighed out of relief, “I think I’m ready.”
“She’s only 6 weeks old. There’s no pressure here from me to have our next kid before Alexis turns 1.”
“I’ve always wanted kids close together.”
“Then, I guess there’s only one thing to do,” he smiled, moving his hand south of your stomach.
“I guess so,” you giggled, mentally preparing yourself for the long night you were in for.

Can you make a Matt Casey x reader story?
Matt Casey is married to Andy Dardens sister, and she’s the PIC on Ambo and her partner is Gabby Dawson.
After the death of Andy it has been rough between Casey and y/n, they are separated but still married.
Y/n is living with Severide as she’s still separated.
Casey is trying to do everything he can to get y/n back.
Eventuellt they get back together and are happily married.
Maybe som fluff and a bit of comfortable smut
You're my Rock
The doorbell of Severide’s apartment kept ringing for the tenth time tonight. Kelly was out tonight at the bar likely going to bring back a girl tonight or end up at her place instead. So I had no clue who would be coming to his - or should I say our apartment this late at night. Especially considering it was almost midnight.
Coming down the road staircase I shrugged one of my brother Andy Dardens old firefighter sweatshirts on and over my head. I crossed the kitchen area and unlocked the door swinging it opened, scowling at who I found standing in the hallway. “Mathew, what the hell are you doing here?”
“Y/n, don’t shut the door in my face please. Just hear me out this time.” He raised his hands up slightly, giving me a sympathetic look.
“Mathew, I know what you’re going to say. But it won't work this time.” Pushing the door closed I waited for the lock sound but h3 had stopped it with his foot. “Goodnight.”
He sent me the puppy dog eyes knowing I couldn't resist him when he looked at me like that. “It’s supposed to storm tonight. Do you want me to keep you company since Severide is out.” He knew I hated harsh storms, I had basically a fear of them starting when I was a child.
Now that my brother Andy was gone he couldn't call me and make me calm through thw night. Regardless that he had his own wife and kids to keep safe, he would still call me every time. When we were kids he would sneak into my room and we would share my bed and fall asleep. Matt Casey and I had only been married foe about to two years the day he died. Andy and Matt were best friends before they became brothers. So his death hit him almost as difficult as it had me.
“It’s a free country, Casey.” Throwing my hands down at my side I walked away from the door and over to the kitchen. Grabbing a beer out of the fridge I held it out to him, grabbing myself one in the process. “You want a beer?”
“Sure. Y/n, look I didn't come here to fight with you. I came here to get my wife back once and for all so we can start our life together like we talked about.” He took the beer and took a long drink sitting down at the kitchen table with me standing on the other side of it.
Sipping from my bottom I sat it down on the countertop. “I'm not your wife, Mathew. We're separated, remember.”
“Only by living under different roofs.” He pointed out to me. The main reason I had moved in with Severide was because I couldn't stand to be around my husband after he had been distant when I would have my mental break downs over missing my brother.
Matt sat down his drink and stared silently at me a few good minutes. “How many times can I say I am sorry. I'm sorry for saying that I wasn't struggling over his loss like you were.”
“You acted like he meant nothing, Matt! You made me feel like I was grieving the wrong way because you didn't seem to miss him as much as I did.” Raising my voice I snapped at him, slamming my hands down on the countertop.
My brothers best friend got up from his barstool and round the table so we were standing directly in front of us with nothing physically keeping us apart from one another. “I need to show you something.”
“I'm not going anywhere with you.” I scoffed at the thought. Matt has attempted to win me back on a couple of occasions. Sending me flowers at the police station, leaving me a voicemail apology over my phone or even trying to get our friends Brett and Jay to talk things out with him. None of them have worked like he thought they would.
Matt suddenly grabbed me by my hips and threw me over his shoulder carrying me towards the door. “Sorry honey. But you need to see this.”
“Mathew Casey put me down!. I am not going anywhere with you.” I hit his back with my fists yet he rushed to put me down till we reached his car. I screamed when he gently pushed me into the passenger seat of his truck and had apparently locked it when I pulled the door handle but couldn't get out. “So you're keeping me hostage now huh.”
He climbed into the driver's seat and didn't say another word until we walked inside the firefighter memorial building. “I'm showing you where I would go to grieve for Andy.”
“Matt, what is so important that you have to show me inside this building - is that my brother's picture?” Letting him led me by my hand intertwined with his we finally stopped walking and stood in front of a row of fire fighter pictures. Scanning over them I finally found my brother Andy among them and tears welled in my eyes.
Matt glanced over at me seeing tears in my eyes just like his own. “I'd come here to grieve over him being gone. I figured you didn't want to see me breaking down on you when you needed someone strong to come home to every night.”
“I've never seen his picture here until now.” I muttered to myself under my breath, listening to what my husband was saying.
Matt gently grabbed me by my shoulders, turning me so I was facing him. Our eyes locked on one another like our lives depended on it. “Y/n, listen to me. I will never fully understand how hard it is that you lost your brother. I can understand it hurts but never the full scale of it. And I should have told you that I came here in the first place and I should have realized that you wanted me to not always be the strong one around you. Now that I know that I’m here in front of you now saying that I am truly sorry.”
“Matt, I’m - I’m sorry I lost it on you. I just didn’t know how to handle losing my brother. And I took it out on you when I should have thought of how his loss affects you too. Can you forgive me for all that cause I don’t want you to think I hate you or something.” I sniffed through some tears. I raised my hands up, wiping away fallen tears until my husband intertwined my hands with his own.
Will reached inside his jacket pocket taking out a ring that I recognized as my wedding ring. The wedding ring was my grandmother's that he proposed to me with. “I haven’t ever been able to push you out of my life. The day I met you and Andy there was no way I could go back to the life I had. So will you truly be my wife again, Y/n L/n?”
“That’s Y/n Casey to you.” Leaning forward I connected my lips with his own where he wrapped his arms around my waist bringing me closer. Regardless of what we had faced Mathew Casey would always be my rock in hard times.

when you three got married (you all became casey-severide), you agreed that you wouldn’t start trying for kids until at least a year into your marriage so you could enjoy married life. on your one year anniversary, while you were having a nice dinner at your house, the topic of kids came up and you said you had gotten your iud out and the minute they heard that, dinner was abandoned and kelly threw you over his shoulder and they took you upstairs.
once upstairs, you were tossed onto the bed. and matt spoke up

Heatwave of Emotions (18+)
Request: Hey hooooo my dear ❤️ I love your blog sooooo much that I cannot resist to send in a Kelly Severide idea for my bday on Monday 🫣🥰 but of course you can write it whenever you have time !It would be something where you're just moved to Chicago, working at 51 and everyone immediately loves you, especially one grumpy Lieutenant. So after some weeks adjusting to everything and even getting closer with Kelly, which everyone notices and sees how happy you make each other, you finally agree on a date with him. Which turns out absolutely great and you're about to kiss as some random chick disturbs you both (she's been a one time thing with him at some point but not something serious) and you leave him standing there, being hurt and sad. The next days you barely talk with him and don't get him any chance to explain, so the rest of 51 tries talking in your mind that he's never been that serious about a girl until you showed up and stuff. Sooooo on a free day you show up at his apartment, wanting to talk with him, but as he opens the door you notice he just came out of the shower and you cannot get your thoughts together, so you kiss him, which he gladly returns and the situation gets into his bedroom, getting away all doubts of you🔥😉

A/N: Happy Belated Birthday to the anon who sent this in! I hope you enjoy it!
A/N 2: @talesofreading and @imagine-all-the-fandoms here is some Kelly Severide for ya!
When you moved to Firehouse 51 in Chicago from your old house back in Colorado, who wasn’t the best towards women, you thought this was going to be the same way. Boy, were you wrong. When you walked in you saw several women and the house and when they saw you, they immediately welcomed you and made it feel like home. Sylvie Brett, Stella Kidd, and Gabriela Dawson became your immediate friends and you couldn’t ask for anyone better to hang out with. When you were introduced to the rest of everyone, they were quick to make you feel welcomed and that made you smile. There was one person that caught your eye and you could tell that you had caught his eye as well. Once everyone cleared out and it was just you and him in the room, he approached you. “Hi I’m Kelly Severide. I work on Squad 3.” He said and smiled a dazzling smile that had you swooning and you smiled back at him.
“I’m Y/N Y/L/N. I’m gonna be working on Ambulance 61 with Sylvie and Gabriela.” You said and he smiled and nodded.
“You’ll be with the best. So, what made you move here?” He asked and you could tell he was actually curious and not looking for small talk.
“My firehouse back in Colorado wasn’t the best towards women and my ex-boyfriend cheated on me and he worked in the same house. I was the laughing stalk and needed a new start.” You said and he looked like he was actually pissed that happened to you.
“That is no way to treat someone as beautiful as you.” He said and you actually blushed and you were going to say something else but the bells rang for Ambulance 61 and he looked at you. “Well, it looks like it is your time to shine.” He said and you nodded as Sylvie came and motioned you to come and you did as you were walking towards the ambulance and got in the back, she turned to you.
“You and Kelly, huh?” She said with a smirk and you just bowed your head and smiled while blushing.
“Ohhhh, what is this about?” Gabriela asked and Sylvie turned to her.
“When I went to get her, she and Kelly were talking up a storm and he was smiling like actually smiling.” She said
“Are you saying that Kelly and Y/N have a crush on each other already?” She asked and you just blushed furiously because yes it was true.
“Exactly what I’m saying.” She said
“Stop it guys.” You said but you were smiling and they laughed.
“In all seriousness, this is the first time I actually saw him smile an actual smile.” Sylvie said
“Really?” You asked and she nodded and turned back to look at you.
“Yes, he doesn’t smile a lot and he has been a grouch for a while.” She said but you didn’t get to ask any more questions because you had arrived at the scene. You three worked perfectly together but you couldn’t stop thinking about Kelly and he couldn’t stop thinking about you.
——————————————————————
4 weeks had gone by and you were loving your new house and they were loving you. You fit in well with the group. We were close with all them but you were very close to none other than Kelly Severide. You won’t admit it but you had a crush on the handsome Squad 3 member whenever you were in the room together. Both of you could not stop smiling and making heart eyes with each other.
Not many calls were coming in so you took this time to tidy things up and get to know more of your coworkers. You had just come back from using the restroom when you heard Casey's voice and stopped where you couldn’t be seen, especially when you heard your name. “Ever since Y/N came, Kelly has been a lot nicer.” He said
“Oh absolutely, he is smiling a lot more and it's creepy but it’s nice.” Stella said and everyone agreed this made you smile to yourself. You had noticed that his mood had changed and to be honest it was nice to have a male being so nice and making you feel noticed. It had gone quiet so you had walked away with a smile on your face. You walked where the trucks were and found Kelly sitting there and that just made you smile even more. You walked over to him and sat down and he looked up and smiled.
“What are you smiling about?” He asked with a smile.
“Oh, nothing really. I just love this house and it’s nowhere near my last one and I’m so grateful for that.” You said and he leaned up further.
“We absolutely love having you here. I know I do most of all. Speaking of knowing you. I have to admit that I do have a crush on you.” He said and that made you blush.
“I do too.” You said shyly.
“Well, if we feel the same way then maybe go out on a date with me. I know you have turned me down in the past.” He said, this hasn’t been the first time that he had asked and each time you had politely turned him down and he understood and didn’t push but that didn’t stop him from asking a few weeks later. You looked at him thinking, this is the first time that you both had admitted that you had crushes on each other.
“Ok, fine. I’ll go on a date with you.” You said and the biggest smile appeared on his face.
“Really?” He asked and you nodded.
“Really.” You said
“What kind of food do you like?” He asked
“I really love Thai food.” You said and he smiled and nodded.
“I know this really good Thai place. I’ll pick you up at 7 tomorrow night.” He said and you nodded.
“Sounds like a date.” You said
“Indeed, it does.” He said and then the bells went off. You all were heading out onto the call.
——————————————————————
The day of the date started the few days you had off and you were somewhat looking forward to it but not really, you had really just wanted to be with your crew because being alone in a house by yourself sucked. You had spent all day getting ready for your date that you had even called Stella, Sylvie, and Gabriela over to help. When they asked why and you told them they practically squealed and dragged you to your room and started going through your closet. After finally settling on a pair of jeans that hugged your legs and accented what they needed and a nice red shirt that once again accented everything it needed to, you were ready. While you waited, they did your hair and makeup and then you all gossiped. It was mostly about Kelly but you didn't mind not in the least bit. They left around 6:30 PM and now you just had to wait.
7 PM rolled around and Kelly was knocking on your door. During the weeks everyone had exchanged phone numbers with you and some of them, mostly the 3 females that had become your friends, knew you address one being Kelly. You walked to your door and opened to find him on the other side holding some flowers and that made you smile. “These are for you.” He said and handed you the flowers which you gladly took.
“Thank you. Peonies are my favorite.” You said taking them and bringing them up to your nose to smell them. “Come inside while I put these away.” You said and stepped aside and he did just that.
“So, our reservation is at 7:30 PM.” He said “It doesn't take that long to get there.” He added and you nodded as you finished putting the flowers in a vase. When it was close to 7:30 PM you both started to head that way. It turns out it was a walking distance but he insisted on driving and you let him. He found a place to park and then he was shutting off the engine and walking over to your side of the car and opening the door for you and that made you smile.
“Thank you.” You said and he smiled.
“You’re very much welcome.” He said and when you were plenty enough away from the door, he shut it and locked it. You walked in and straight to the desk “Reservation for two under Severide.” He said and the hostess nodded and smiled.
“Right this way.” They said and you followed them. You both were led outside to a semi-private area and Kelly pulled out the chair for you. The date was going well and you two got to know a lot about each other. When the date was over, he paid for it and then you both left. As you were walking to his car that was parked a few feet away, the both of you stopped at a little park that was close by with a fountain.
“I really had a nice time with you.” You said looking up at him and he smiled.
“I did too. Do you wish you would’ve gone out with me sooner?” He asked and you chuckled.
“I think I was right to turn you down those three other times. It just helped make this night even more perfect.” You said and he chuckled.
“I get it. I’m just glad you said yes, this time.” He said and then turned to you and the both of you stood there staring at each other and you both slowly leaned in. Your lips were almost touching when a female voice sounded.
“Kelly? Kelly Severide?” The voice said and that made you both look up and over at the voice.
“Alexa.” He said and your stomach dropped. Everyone told you about his flings and relationships that didn’t work out. You expected to meet them sooner or later but not now.
“Why haven’t you texted me back? I wanna hook up again.” Alexa said and that made you feel even worse.
“I told you we were done.” He said and he shook his head and looked over at you.
“Baby, I promise we are done.” He said and you just shook your head. Alexa put her hands on his biceps and got all up and close.
“It’s only been a week. A week too long. Ditch this tramp and come back to my place with me.” She said trying her hardest to work. Kelly didn’t say anything.
“I can’t believe I actually fell for this. I should’ve known better. You’re just as bad as my ex, you were hooking up with her when you were talking and trying to go out with me. You know what? I’m so done. Never talk to me again, Severide.” You said and he cringed and started to panic. You only called him Severide while at work all the other times it had been Kelly. You pushed past them and started to walk away. You heard some talking and the fact he wasn’t running after you right now broke your heart and tears fell. “I was so stupid.” You told yourself you were almost home when you heard your name.
“Y/N, please stop.” Kelly said and you did but didn’t turn around. “I haven’t talked to that girl in months and when you came into the house all communication stopped. You have to believe me. She was lying.” He said and you shook your head and turned around and when he saw the tear tracks running down it broke him.
“I can’t. I’m sorry. How do I know she’s not lying?” You asked and he hesitated and you let out a watery chuckle. “Do me a favor and lose my number. The only time I will speak to you is at work but that’s it.” You said and walked the rest of the way to your home leaving him standing there. You shut the door and slid down it and sat there and sobbed.
Kelly was distraught. Since you had come into the house, he hadn’t hooked up with anyone, he wanted you and only you. You made his days better and his drinking had cut down tremendously. He just hoped that he could talk to you and let you know that but right now you weren’t listening to him. He immediately pulled out his phone and sent a couple of text messages to you and called you but the messages went unanswered and the calls went straight to voicemail.
——————————————————————
When it came time for you to go back to work you were dreading it. You didn’t want to see him at all. You told him all about your ex and how awful men were to you. When you had arrived at the station the only spot available was by Kelly’s car and you sighed but parked next to it. You killed the engine and got out and walked into the nearly silent station. You walked into the locker room and got changed and then you were heading to find everyone else. As you were searching for anyone, Kelly rounded the corner and you stopped and so he did. He looked like hell. He had bags under his eyes and his eyes weren’t as bright. “Y/N.” He said your name with a breathless whisper but you just shook your head and walked away.
Each time he tried to talk to you, you would just back away or make up an excuse that you had something to do and leave. You felt bad for doing so but he did break your heart and most importantly your trust. You still love him but you had built walls up and they weren’t going to come down anytime soon. You had to put up with him for 3 days while you worked and it was gonna be difficult but you were going to pull through no matter what.
Over the next few days, you avoided him like the plague and each time he tried to corner you and tried to explain the bell had rung each time saving you. You honestly didn’t know if you were going to give him another chance or not. Everyone had settled into the kitchen while Squad 3 was out on a call. While you were there, they got to talking about anything but the subject of Kelly had come up. “Gosh Kelly has become so irritable in the last few days. He’s even more grumpier and pretty much has gone back to his old ways.” Stella said and then she turned to you. “How was the date?” She asked.
“It was great and he was a gentleman. Afterwards we went to a little park near my house and as we were talking some girl came up named Alexa. She said that they hadn’t hooked up in weeks. She started touching him and he didn’t even try to stop her. He knew my history with men and how I was cheated on.” You said and everyone was quiet.
“You know he has certainly changed since you came here. He started to become happy and friendly. His attitude has changed drastically.” Sylvie said and everyone nodded in agreement.
“You’ve changed him for the better.” Gabriela said and you just sat there quietly taking it all in.
“This Alexa girl he hasn’t talked to in months, almost close to a year.” Casey said and you looked up surprised.
“So, he was telling the truth?” You asked and they all nodded and now you felt bad for not giving him the time of day to actually explain.
“He was. He is so in love with you that it is almost sickening.” Herrmann said, you thought about it and then the bells were ringing and Ambulance 61 and Truck 81 was being called out. As you were walking to the ambulance, the Squad 3 truck was pulling into the station. As Kelly got out you both made eye contact with each other but you had gotten in and shut the doors and you were off.
——————————————————————
When you got off shift you had debated on going straight home but you needed to see Kelly. You walked out to your car and noticed that he was already gone and you sighed. You got into your car and started the engine and headed over to his apartment. You knew where it was because you had been over there several times just to hang out and that was the first time you had admitted to yourself that you were absolutely in love with him.
You pulled into a space and parked and killed the engine. You started your way into the building and walked to the elevator and pressed the button and it immediately opened. You got in and then pressed the button for his floor. You waited anxiously for it to arrive at his floor and when it did you knew there was no going back. You got off and walked to his door and knocked. There was no answer. You debated on going back home or not but didn’t get a chance to turn around because the door was opening and it was revealing Kelly with a towel wrapped around his waist and his hair was wet. “Y/N?” He asked and you couldn’t think of anything to say as you looked him up and down.
After a few minutes you finally had enough and no words were coming to you so you just smashed your lips onto his and he returned it. He was so surprised that it had pushed him back but he had grabbed your waist and pulled you inside and shut the door. He pushed you up against the door and the heavy make out session continued. You finally pulled apart when air was needed and you could feel his erection from underneath the towel. “I’m sorry. I believe you and should’ve let you explain.” You said and he shook his head.
“That doesn’t matter right now. Jump.” He said and you did so and then he was back to kissing you, hard. He walked his way to his bedroom and gently laid you down. You broke the kiss and pulled the towel off and your mouth watered at the sight, he was huge and you loved it. “You like what you see?” He asked and you nodded.
“Very much so, but I’m wearing too many clothes.” You said and he chuckled and then started to slowly undress you while caressing every part of your body and kissing it. Soon you were completely naked and showing all of you to him.
“You’re absolutely beautiful.” He said and you blushed. He laid down on the bed and gently spread your legs and dove in. When his mouth met your hot core, you moaned and grabbed onto his head and pushed him more into you.
“Kelly.” You moaned out and he smirked, he circled your clit and then he pushed a finger into and you were throwing your head back. He thrusted into you and then added a second finger “Oh my gosh.” You moaned out that the rubber band feeling was starting to get tight and you were close. “I want to come on your cock.” You moaned out and he nodded and licked one more broad stripe up you before he was lifting his head and pulling out his fingers. He crawled up to you and kissed you, you tasted yourself on him.
“You ready, Baby?” He asked while pumping himself twice and you nodded.
“I need you inside me.” You said and he nodded and positioned himself at your entrance and he pushed in. You both moaned together as he did so.
“You’re so tight.” He said and when he bottomed out you felt so full and he stretched you in all the right places. He stayed still for a minute letting you adjust.
“Move.” You moaned out and he nodded and started to gently thrust into you. Your hands went to his back and your fingers dug into his shoulder blades.
“You’re perfect.” He said and started to thrust faster making you moan louder.
“Right there.” You said as he hit your g-spot. “Oh my gosh, I love you.” You moaned out and that just made him go faster.
“I love you too, Baby. You’re the only one for me.” He said and dipped his head down into your neck and sucked on it. He gently bit it and that you were clenching around him.
“I’m close.” He said and you moaned out.
“Me too. I want you to cum in me.” You moaned out and that just seemed to make him go faster.
Kelly’s thrust was becoming sloppy and you knew he was close. Your fingernails bit into him making him hiss. He reached a hand down to your clit and started to rub vigorously which helped you get closer. “Cum with me.” He moaned out and then he was bending down, taking one of your nipples into his mouth and sucking on it. When he gently bit it is when you came and you clenched around him which made him cum. You both came while calling out each other’s names. You both were coming down from your highs when he pulled slowly out of you and laid next to you. You both panted out of breath but a smile was on both of your faces. “I wasn’t lying when I said you’re the only one for me.” He said and you turned to look at him.
“I know. Everyone talked to me. I’m sorry for not letting you explain.” You said and he smiled at you.
“It’s ok. I’m just glad we’re here with each other now.” He said and you nodded “I love you.” He said and you smiled.
“I love you too.” You replied
“Will you be my girlfriend?” He asked and you sat up leaning on an elbow.
“Yes. I would love to.” You said and he smiled and he leaned over and kissed you. You were his and he was yours and that is all that mattered. Nothing was going to change that not now or ever.

Firehouse fifty one was used to a lot of things out of Kelly Severide. Listening was not quite one of them. Maybe that was why your relationship took them so off guard. A detective and a fire lieutenant.
The two of you had tempers that matched but you managed to meet each other halfway most days. Until your ex boyfriend started some issues. You tried to keep it from Kelly. You could handle it but then the restraining order crossed Voight's desk with Kelly's name on it that your ex had filed and the reason was simple battery.
You walked into the bays of the firehouse about the time Kelly walked out. He smiled "Hey baby" you held up the restraining order and he turned around and tried to walk back inside but stopped when you called his name. He turned back around "I know you said you could handle it and I was going to let you. I was but then I just went to get coffee and he was there and he said some things so.."
"So you broke his nose" you finished and he shrugged. You shook your head "First off, how the hell did you get Jay to cover that without Voight finding out. Second why didn't you tell me?" he grinned "Jay owed me a favor and because I love you" you shook your head "I love you too you hothead"

Do You Need an Ambulance?
Kelly x reader
WC: 1500 ish
She calls Kelly to take her to Med in the middle of the night.
This one is since Kelly was so close behind in my poll the other day.
@juneofdoom day 5 quote in bold below.
------
A stabbing pain through your abdomen woke you from a sound sleep. You'd had some mild pain with some nausea when you'd come to bed but this was fifty times worse.
You rolled hoping that the shift in position would lessen the pain. All it did was cause your stomach to roll so violently you thought you would puke all over the bed. You managed to get yourself up and into the ensuite before emptying your stomach onto the floor. “Ugh. Damn it.” You muttered as you carefully lowered yourself to a clean spot next to the toilet.
You threw up once more before you began to dry heave. It was excruciating, intensifying the pain you'd already had even more.
When you finally stopped, you were exhausted. Your head was pounding and you felt clammy as you started to shiver.
You managed to clean up the floor before you stood gingerly. You made your way to the vanity and when you spotted your reflection you cringed. Dark circles were stark under your eyes and your skin was so pale it almost seemed translucent.
Before returning to bed, you grabbed the thermometer from the medicine cabinet. You placed it under your tongue as you flopped back onto the mattress. When it beeped you looked at the read-out: 102.2°. “Perfect,” you grumbled. “I need Kelly.”
You grabbed your phone and cringed when you saw it was only 3:51 in the morning. You tapped Kelly's name on the screen and were shocked when he answered after only one ring.
“What's wrong?” He was immediately on alert.
“Are you guys on a call? Why are you awake?” you asked, ignoring his question.
“We just got back from a fire,” he explained. “I just got out of the shower. What is wrong?”
“I need you to come pick me up,” you offered. “I don't feel good. I think it might be appendicitis.”
You could hear a staticky noise you assumed was him running his hand across his scruff. “Why do you think it's your appendix?”
“Nausea, vomiting, fever, and abdominal pain. Like really bad abdominal pain,” you explained. You shifted on the bed again and sucked in a sharp breath at the flare of worsened pain. “Fuck. Kel, it really hurts. If it's not my appendix then something else is really, really wrong.”
“Do you need an ambulance?” he asked.
“No!” You protested. “Ugh, no. I just need you to come and drive me. Please.”
“Just a second, let me tell Boden.” You heard muffled voices through the phone. “I'm coming. I'll be there in a few minutes.”
“‘Kay.” You stood and headed out of the bedroom, planning to meet him outside but even walking was making the pain worse and you ended up settling on the couch instead.
Kelly kept talking, trying to distract you. After a few minutes you heard his car shut off. “I'm parked. I'll be up in a minute.”
“I'll be here,” you tried to joke as you hung up.
The door swung open and Kelly immediately knelt beside the couch. He pushed a few loose strands of hair behind your ear. “Sweetheart, you're not looking so hot.”
You scowled. “Rude. The thermometer disagreed. It said I was 102 degrees of hot.”
Kelly just rolled his eyes at you.
“I was going to try to meet you outside, but even walking makes it hurt more.” You shifted trying to make yourself more comfortable. Tears welled in your eyes and you quickly blinked them away. “Can you carry me?”
“Of course, I can.” He kissed your forehead softly as he pushed to stand. He easily slipped his arms under your back and knees and lifted you. “Let's go get you fixed up.”
“Yes, please!”
If you thought walking hurt, it had nothing of riding in a car. Every bump in the road felt like absolute torture.
Kelly squeezed your hand, offering the only comfort he could. “Just try to breathe, sweetheart. We're almost there.”
You closed your eyes, trying to picture yourself anywhere else.
“Hey,” Kelly squeezed harder, “stay with me. Don't fall asleep.”
“I'm here,” you squeezed his hand back. You wanted to explain you were picturing white sandy beaches and rolling mountains but couldn't seem to get the words out.
What felt like several minutes later, Kelly pulled up to the ambulance entrance to Med. He quickly rounded the car and scooped you out of the car.
Maggie saw Kelly coming through the sliding doors with you in his arms. “Incoming! Rhodes! Halstead! Treatment two!”
“Jesus,” Will muttered. “What happened?”
“She thinks it's her appendix,” Kelly explained.
“What do we have?” Connor asked joining you in the treatment room.
“Possible appy,” said Will. “Why do you think it's your appendix, Y/N?”
You groaned. “It hurts.”
“Where?” Connor asked.
“BP is 160/90, heart rate 105, pulse ox 96% on room air, and temp is 102.5” Monique rattled off.
You gestured vaguely. “Here.”
Someone pressed near your belly button and you cried out in pain.
“She said she threw up earlier, too,” Kelly added.
“Hand me the ultrasound,” Connor requested. The wand was pressed near your right hip bone and you gasped in pain. “Alright, yeah. Appendix is starting to rupture. We need to get her into the OR right now.”
Kelly appeared at the head of the bed and kissed your forehead again. “See you soon.”
You smiled. “Love you.”
“I love you, too, sweetheart.”
“Let's move,” Will ordered.
They quickly got you up to the OR and situated for surgery. Connor leaned over you and explained that he would be right back after scrubbing. “I'll get you feeling better, deal?”
“Deal.”
A few hours later
Your eyes fluttered open to a bright room. You felt like you were floating or that you'd had several drinks. Looking around, you spotted a handsome man in the chair beside your bed.
“Hey, sweetheart.” He smiled at you as he noticed you were awake.
You giggled. “You're pretty.”
He chuckled. “Back at ya.”
“So pretty,” you slurred. “What's your name?”
He raised his eyebrows at you. “It's Kelly. You don't remember me?”
“Kelly.” You tried out his name. “I think I like you.”
He laughed, a beautiful, full body laugh, and it was the most amazing sound. “I'm glad. I don't just like you… I kinda love you.”
Your mouth dropped open in surprise. “Wow.”
“Guess what?”
“What?” You grabbed onto his forearm waiting for his response.
“We’re engaged.” He slipped a ring out of his pocket and onto your finger where a tan line was already visible.
“Wow!” you exclaimed again before yawning. “I'm sleepy.”
Kelly leaned over to kiss you softly. “Go ahead and sleep. I'll be here when you wake up.”
Another hour or so later
“Everything looks good,” you heard Connor say. “Her temp is down, so the antibiotics are doing their job. She should be awake soon.”
“How long will she be here?” Kelly asked.
“Uhh, probably two days of IV antibiotics before we will discharge,” Connor answered.
You groaned.
You felt Kelly’s fingers against your cheek. “Are you awake?”
You cracked an eye open just enough to see him sitting beside the bed. The room was dark but you could tell by the light around the shades that it was bright outside. You shook you head.
“You know who I am?” Kelly asked, smirking.
You scowled at him. “Why wouldn't I know who you are?”
“When you woke up in recovery you told me I was pretty and asked what my name is.”
You snorted. “Well, you are pretty.”
“How're you feeling?” Connor asked.
You shifted, assessing. “Sore, but way better than before.”
“Good. Sore is to be expected,” Connor said. “Do you need more for pain?”
“I think I'm okay right now. I am kind of starving though.”
Connor gave you a sympathetic look. “Sorry to break it to you but you're stuck with clear liquids only for at least a few hours. I can have the nurse grab you some broth and jello if you want.”
“Better than nothing, I guess.”
He nods. “I'll have it brought up. Then just grab a nurse if the pain gets worse, okay?”
You gave him a thumbs up and he disappeared out of the room.
“Sorry for making you miss half your shift,” you told Kelly.
“It wasn't half my shift. It was only three hours of my shift. And there is no where I would have rather have been that taking care of you when you needed me.” He chuckled. “Even if you don't know who I am.”
You rolled your eyes. “Ass.”
“You love me,” he argued.
“That doesn't mean you can't be an ass.” You stuck your tongue out at him.
“Whatever you say, dear.” He stood and kissed your forehead. “If you're feeling up to it, you have a few more visitors wanting to see you.”
You smiled. “Yes, please. I'm always up for 51.”
He nodded, as if knowing that would be your response. “I will go grab them.” He turned to leave winking at you as he went. “I love you.”
“Love you most!”

New Years Eve
Summary: New Years looks a little different but you don't mind at all.
A/N: After much contemplation, I decided to write this little baby as one last thing to end off the year. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and hopefully an amazing new year. Thank you so much for all the love and support you showed me this year, I truly can't express my appreciation and just how much it's helped me.
Being a surgeon meant that you had peculiar shifts and sometimes it meant working holidays. You were lucky enough to spend Christmas at home with your family but not so much for new years.
You weren't too bothered however. Your family had no plans this year as they all went abroad and you were stuck.
Despite being unable to maintain traditions this year, you and a few special people could make new ones.
The night was suspiciously quiet, allowing you and Connor to take a well deserved break and have a much needed catch up in the break room.
Laughing at Connor's unfortunate family dinner tale, you were interrupted by a knock on the door which was pushed open before either of you could say anything.
"Mama, mama!" The babbles of your child made it so that your smile widened. Their chubby legs staggering as they were supported by your husband who was helping them 'walk' towards where you were sat.
"Oh hello Daisy! Look at you!" You stood up, opening your arms as she picked up the pace to throw herself forward into your embrace that was one of her favourite places to be. "Mama missed you baby."
Her following giggles brightened up the room, it was as if she understood your words. Her smile, with a few teeth poking out, were a welcomed sight as her hand clutched your scrubs.
"Oh! And whose this?" You questioned her innocently, looking at the other man in wonder.
Connor held in a laugh at the scene before him.
Turning to the direction you were pointing, Daisy babbled nonsensical gibberish that you nodded to understandingly. "Ah I see, you picked up a stray on your way here. That's so generous of you love."
Kelly rolled his eyes, knowing fully well you were indirectly jabbing him for his soot covered face. He clearly hadn't cleaned himself after their latest call.
This time last year, the exact same thing happened. It was almost like deja-vu but instead of being pregnant, this time you had a baby in your arms and... Connor was here.
Looking back at one of your best friends and colleagues, you raised a brow at him, a knowing smile on your face.
Connor laughed, nodding his head with a certain look on his face. "Alright, alright, I know when I'm not wanted."
"You love us." Kelly said, smile filled with appreciation as the man got up.
"Yeah yeah, get out of here Rhodes. Go find Will to kiss at twelve." You half joked, was half serious, your tone giving nothing away.
His laugh came straight from the chest, shocked but also expecting it from you at the same time.
"Kiss this fine specimen twice for me instead, m'kay?" Connor asked rhetorically, firmly patting Kelly on the shoulder as he winked at you, not waiting for a reply before leaving.
"How are my girls doing?" Kelly asked, moving towards you to wrap his hands around you waist.
"I should be asking you that, you two have been having fun at the firehouse together all day." You replied, letting Daisy play with the random junk you had in the breast pocket of your scrubs.
"Little missy here had the time of her life with her aunts and uncles today. She was very spoilt and I'm very surprised they haven't tired her out."
You hummed, the baby in your arms was still buzzing with energy but the concern about her bedtime could be a problem for the new year.
The silence was welcoming. Being a surgeon and a mother meant that it was a rare thing but you relished it every single time.
"We going to make this a yearly thing?" You asked, fixing Kelly's collar. "Working every new years, you coming here to kiss me senseless and run away all smug like you're so cool. I have a strict reputation to maintain - need to keep instilling fear in the students."
"Ahh I see." Kelly nodded, lips pursed as he looked at your daughter when he replied.
"Your mummy thinks she's so scary, isn't she just so adorable?!" He said in the baby voice that he uses when talking to Daisy who knew none the better that he was making fun of you.
"Piss off." You rolled your eyes, shoving his shoulder away but he barely moved, stood firm on the ground even with all the effort you put in.
"Aww, don't worry baby, I still love you." He circled his arms back around you, bringing you into his embrace, holding his two girls close to him.
"No that's it, no more kisses for you." You shook your head, trying your best to be serious as you exchanged the banter that even though it was small, made days like today better.
Kelly hummed, as if he didn't believe your threats. He looked down at you and Daisy with such adoration and love that it was palpable. After such hard days, small pockets of time with just the three of you grounded him in such a way very few could do.
The countdown started, muffled voices counting down from outside, breaking the bubble of your little family was in.
"I love you."
Your smile was identical to the smile Daisy wore. She was your exact carbon copy and to have both of you looking up at him with the exact same look, Kelly was ready to fight the whole world for his two girls.
"I love you too."
"3, 2, 1... Happy New Year!"
Without a second to waste, Kelly's calloused hands cradled your jaw, pulling you into a searing kiss that you instantly melted into, getting lost into it even as little fingers tapped your face, trying to pry Kelly's face off of yours.
The laugh that came from you was unbecoming but this was quite new. Daisy pushed Kelly's face away from yours, ignoring his sour face as she kissed you instead. 'Kiss' being very loose as it was just her open mouth repeatedly smacking your cheek.
Unable to begrudge her, Kelly joined in, kissing the other cheek in unison.
Then, in sync, you and Kelly turned and drowned Daisy in kisses. The sudden onslaught of kisses surprising her, her giggles loud and beautiful, the most wonderful sound you ever heard. Her smile wide, dimples deep and eyes squinting.
Yeah, this was definitely a new years tradition you could get used to.

Hi! Would you please write one with Matt/Kelly/Jay x reader where the reader is walking home or something and gets attacked. Roughed up a bit maybe a concussion and like a dislocated shoulder... but she manages to get away before anything too bad happens and just runs on instinct to 51. Kelly and Matt all worried and trying to comfort her but she’s in shock. Sylvie and Violet take care of her and take her to med. Jay meets them there. Maybe with worried brother-in-law Will and a Connor appearance?
Messed with the wrong one- Matt, Kelly, and Jay
Warnings: attack briefly described, vomiting, possibly wrong medical jargon
————————————
You have always been decently independent, which is something that your boys love and hate at the same time. You enjoy doing the grocery shopping and often find yourself walking the short distance to the small neighborhood market around the corner from your shared home. Today was no different.
It was late in the afternoon. The sun was just starting to set and you were happily enjoying watching the beautiful colors change in the sky. Jay was still at work, you having been able to leave early since you finished your paper work, but Jay still had a few files left to tidy up. Your errands could have waited, but you had the time now. So, while Matt, Kelly, and Jay were all still at work, you planned on getting a head start on dinner.
You were two blocks from the market when you felt four hands grab you and drag you into a nearby ally. All your training kicked in and you fought back as hard as you could. All you could think about was getting home to your boys. You kicked and punched, having to drag yourself off the ground twice. The second time you found yourself on the ground, your head also found purchase on a brick wall. You quickly shook it off and stood, laying one guy out and dodging the other, bolting down the ally and running as fast as you could. You didn’t dare look back.
Next thing you know, you are running through the bay doors of 51 and Kelly is snatching you up in his arms. You are violently shaking, blood tricking down your neck and face. You don’t respond when Kelly talks to you, given the fact that you can’t hear him over the ringing in your ears. You notice blurred figures run past you and out of the bay doors, others running out of the firehouse to see what the commotion is all about. Matt comes to your side, but you flinch and scream when he touches you.
“Shhh. It’s okay. It’s okay. It’s just Matt.” Kelly whispers, rocking you back and forth in his arms. He isn’t sure you hear him, but you relax as you bury your face into his neck and breath in his familiar scent.
Matt doesn’t attempt to touch you again. Not yet anyways, but he thinks he understands why you screamed now. Your left arm is cradled between you and Kelly protectively, leading Matt to believe that your hurt. “Kelly. She’s hurt pretty bad.” Matt whispers, walking around you slowly to examine you with only his eyes.
Kelly nods. “I know. I know baby. Let’s sit down, yeah?” Kelly says, acknowledging Matt and guiding you to sit in his chair at the squad table.
Brett and Violet are standing at the ambo with the doors open. They are both assessing you from afar until Matt and Kelly can get you focused or give them permission to approach. Brett can tell you are slipping into shock, but she doesn’t want to make things worse, so she waits.
It doesn’t take long after Kelly gets you sitting down. His hands pushing your shoulders to lower you down has you screaming in pain. Matt steps aside and waves the medics over, allowing Kelly to keep a hold on you since he got to you first.
“Y/n? It’s Sylvie Brett. Can you hear me?” Brett asks, crouching down to find your tear filled eyes. When you nod, Brett smiles warmly at you. “Good. Good. Can you tell me what hurts?” Brett asks, not yet laying a hand on you.
You gently run your right hand over your collar bone and then touch the back of your head. When your hand comes away with blood, you start shaking harder and hyperventilating. You didn’t feel that.
“Hey. Hey. Baby. It’s okay.” Kelly soothes, taking your hands in his. He carefully wipes them off with a towel that Violet offers as Brett stands to examine your head wound.
“Pretty deep.” Brett comments. At this point, you have lost most of the color in your face and are sweating pretty heavily. Brett can tell, without checking your vitals, that the shock is fully setting in. “Kelly. Get her loaded up. Violet, run inside and tell Boden what’s going on then drive us to med. Matt, call med and have them set up a trauma room and have x ray and CT ready upon arrival.” Brett instructs, putting her feelings as your friend aside to get you help quickly.
Everyone jumps to their tasks. Kelly scoops you up and apologizes as you cry out in pain from the movement. Brett gets in the ambo and immediately pulls out some pain killers and an Iv tray for you. She hands Kelly a towel to keep pressure on your head wound as she hooks you up. You barely flinch as the Iv is stuck in your hand, but begin to calm slightly as the meds take over.
When you stop whimpering, Brett moves to check your chest. “Y/n. I gotta look, okay? No pressing. I promise. Just gotta make sure that everything is still relatively where it’s suppose to be.” Brett said, not wanting to scare you with the fact that your bone could potentially be out of your skin or at an alarming angle or something.
You nodded, leaning your head further into Kelly’s hold as Matt finally jumped in and the ambo began moving. You groaned as the movement caused nausea to spike as your head swam. “Mmmm.” You ground out, trying to breath through the nausea.
“What’s wrong hunny?” Brett asked, pulling back from looking at your collarbone, which seemed to be in place, to look at your face. You had gone pale once again, your face scrunched up as you shakily brought a hand to your mouth. “Okay. Hang on.” Brett said, pushing Kelly forward to lean over and grab a sick bag for you. Matt immediately took it and held it under your chin so that Brett could keep examining you.
“M-Matt.” You gasped, clutching onto his wrist when he came into view. It was like you were just processing that he was even around at all.
“Shhhh. I’m here baby. Kelly and I are here.” Matt soothed, using his free hand to wipe tears from your face. “We are almost to med. We gotcha now.” Matt murmured, hating to see the pain and fear in your eyes. He wanted nothing more than to find whoever did this to you and lay into them, but you were his first priority.
Matt’s thought process was cut short when you heaved, flying forward with a scream of pain at the end of it. Kelly stood, holding your forehead in one hand and the cloth to the back of your head with his other hand. Matt held the bag around your mouth, holding one of Kelly’s arms to stop from trying to steady you or put his hand in the wrong place and hurt you more instead o comforting you.
“Brett. You gotta do something.” Kelly said, trying not to burst into tears as you threw up, screaming when you had enough air. You were shaking violently again, the pain and the vomiting causing your body to go into overdrive.
“Kelly. I can’t. We are two minutes out. I gave her enough to take the edge off, but they gotta assess her before she gets anything else on board.” Brett tried to reason, wiping tears from her own face as she attached wires to you to check your vitals. “I’m so sorry Y/n. I’m so sorry. We are getting you to med.” Brett whispered, her heart aching as she watched her friend get sick and scream while her other friends desperately tried to help.
As soon as the ambo got to Med, Conner Rhoads, Maggie, and your brother in law, Will Halstead, were pulling open the doors. Will stood slightly away, knowing he couldn’t treat you, but he also couldn’t leave you and the boys until Jay got there. Luckily, Jay had been notified by Will when he found out, so he knew his brother would be there soon.
“What do we got?” Conner asked, helping Brett get the stretcher out of the ambo as Kelly kept up, one hand still holding the cloth to your head while the other held the bag Matt had to secure it under your chin as you gagged.
“Deep head lac and suspected broken collar bone. The vomiting started about 4 minutes ago. GCS 6, 140/97, pulse 120, O2 95 on room air.” Brett spout out. “Iv in the field. Left hand. Administered 5 of Morphine to take the edge off.” Brett said, getting your sheets in her hands.
“Okay.” Conner said, “On my count. 1, 2, 3.” Conner counted, then helped transfer you onto the hospital bed. You screamed out again as they moved you, then proceeded to pass out. “She’s out. Elevate her feet. Tip the bed.” Conner instructed, following your head down as you were moved. He checked your pupils and palpitated your collarbone while you were out. “I can feel some inflammation around her collar bone on the left side. Most likely broken, but still in place. She also has a minor concussion. I’m gonna have them do an xray and CT just to make sure on both.” Conner said, standing and looking at the monitor. “Maggie, put her on 5ML of oxygen. Her stats are dropping some. Probably from the pain. Let’s go ahead with another 15 of morphine and some Zofran too.” Conner said, typing it all up pretty quickly.
You began to stir as Kelly pushed some fly away back. Conner was quick to get to you, repositioning the bed to a more comfortable position and checked your head lac. Your eyes fluttered open just as Conner was stepping back.
“Welcome back.” Connor said with a smile. “Your gonna be okay. We need to run some tests, but I think that you’ll only need a few stitches and all you’ll need is a sling to stabilize that arm while your collar bone heals.” Conner supplied, smiling as he heard Matt, Kelly, and Will sigh in relief.
You nodded, then winced. “Hurts.” You whispered, throat raw from throwing up.
Conner nodded and moved aside for Maggie. “Mags is gonna give you more morphine and some Zofran. Sound good?” Conner asked, searching your face for confirmation. When you you gave a shaky thumbs up, he smiled. “Good, I’ll check back in a bit.” Just as Conner was leaving, Jay skidded to a stop as he came barreling through the door, almost hitting Conner in his haste to get to you.
“Baby girl.” Jay breathed, patting Conner on the shoulder and going around him to get to you. He was sweating, eyes wild as he searched your body for injuries, hands and bottom lip shaking.
“J-Jay.” You immediately sobbed out. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.” You wailed, covering your face with your right hand.
Jay shook his head as he laid a hand on your leg. “Shhh. No baby. No. It’s okay. It’s not your fault sweet girl.” Jay soothed, rubbing your leg over the blanket. “We got them. Voight and Antonio have them. Your safe.” Jay soothed, smiling sadly at you.
“She was so smart and so brave. She ran straight into the bay doors of the fire house.” Kelly praised, kissing your forehead.
“You know your always safe with us.” Matt said, rubbing one of your feet over the blanket.
“I-I didn’t even think. I j-just ran.” You sniffed, wiping your face with the back of your arm. “I just thought a-about you guys. I-I needed to get h-home to you guys.” You murmured, tears streaking down your face again as the horrors of the event began to creep into your head.
“You’ll be home tonight sweet girl. Until then, we are here.” Jay soothed, moving forward as Maggie walked out, kissing your forehead gently. “You did so good Angel.”
“I’m home here with you guys. Wherever you are is home.” You whispered, finally relaxing as the drugs numbed the pain and the nausea. You were exhausted and you knew your boys would keep you safe, so you allowed your eyes to slip closed.
