Happy Solstice!
I've been away, working on a few things lately that I plan to post about soon.. But for now... HAPPY SOLSTICE AND YULE TO ALL WHO CELEBRATE! 🥳
I wanted to share how I plan to celebrate this season so here it is below! (And feel free to share how you plan to celebrate too!):
Days of Dusk
A process to honor the ending of the year, a new cycle dying and being born anew. During this time, I honor the deities I work closest with as well that would like to be included and feel most connected with this time of death & renewal.
I honor Hades, the King of Death & Rebirth. I honor Kronos/Khronos/Saturn, the Lord of Time and Change. I honor Lucifer, the Lightbringer and King of Hell.
11 days, lasting from Dec. 21st to Jan. 1st, each day, during the night, candles will be lit, honoring the deities involved, and a meditation that focuses on letting the past burdens go, letting death (not literally) occur, and letting all things that have hurt go. Performing deep cleansing over the soul, processing and accepting the past.
Jan. 1st - Day of Twilight
The day in between, a celebration of both the end and the beginning!
This day, both Hades and Persephone are honored. Khronos, especially, is honored. And Lucifer, the Morningstar and King of Hell is honored.
During this day, a longer period of meditation and prayer is done, along with an act of devotional writing commemorating this cycle of change and death & rebirth.
Days of Dawn
A process to honor the beginning of the year, a new cycle beginning and renewed. As said above, the deities I am closest to and are closest to this time and to death & renewal, are honored during this time.
I honor Persephone, the Queen of Death/Rebirth and Spring. I honor Kronos/Khronos/Saturn, the Lord of Time and Change. I honor Lucifer, (especially) the Morningstar.
11 days, lasting from Jan. 1st to Jan. 12th, each day, during the morning/noon, candles are lit in honor of the deities involved, and meditation focused around welcoming the start and beginning of a cycle, inviting rebirth and renewal into my life, celebrating change and the new. Performing cleaning and energizing/charging, introducing change and renewal and energy, accepting the future that is to come.

The Wrath of the Time Goddess is not a force to be reckoned with.
Tumblr media
I have had this idea for a long time of Khronos' battle against Kirby. I don't know why, but it's been in my head for so long, and I have still to make the actual location- There is now, at least, a colour scheme now! Which may be ripping off Sectonia's throne room but shhhhh it's fiiiiiiiine
2/30 complete! [First] [Next]

I once tried to draw a representation of how I personally view different deities related to time:
Tumblr media
Khronos: Linear time
Kairos: Opportune time
Kronos: Cyclic time
Aion: Eternity

I'm gonna rant about wikipedia
a great website, I love wikipedia
not perfect though
and that can be seen on the wiki page for Chronos:
"Khronos or Chronus, is a personification of time in pre-Socratic philosophy and later literature. Chronos is frequently confused with, or perhaps consciously identified with, the Titan, Cronus, in antiquity, due to the similarity in names."
I hate this
a lot
and I assume this is where many misconceptions I've heard come from
this is worded as though it's incorrect, or non-standard
"confused" no, they weren't confused, religion is just very fluid, a lot of Greeks considered Chronos and Kronos to be the same god (most to my knowledge in fact, many even confidently stating that Kronos was just another spelling of the word for time, Chronos), this isn't them "being confused"
it's possible that Chronos and Kronos were separate beings originally, who got syncretized, this is common
it's also possible that they were always the same, and some later groups separated them (notably the Orphics)
for the most part
it's fair to consider Chronos, and Kronos, the same god, except in some contexts (such as Orphism), and I dislike wikipedia's wording here

The most embarassing thing about me is that I found out way too recently that Kronos and Khronos are different

What the hell's going on? Can someone tell me please, why I'm switching faster than the channels on TV? I'm #000000- Then I'm #FFFFFF- Something isn't right. My enemy's invisible- IDK how to fight. The trembling fear is more than I can take, when I'm up against the ECHO in the mirror The trembling fear is more than I can take, when I'm up against- against- E E E ECHO

Vulkan versus OpenGL, by the numbers
Game-engine developers often worry about the relative complexity of Vulkan graphics versus OpenGL. Luckily, I have some relevant data points:
the core package of SPORT (Java interfacing to OpenGL and GLFW via LWJGL) is 3738 lines of code
the core package of V-Sport (Java interfacing to Vulkan and GLFW via LWJGL) is 6670 lines of code
The coding styles are very similar. I’d estimate V-Sport is providing about 90% of the functionality provided by Sport. So for equal functionality, V-Sport might require about 2x as many LoCs.
Bottom line: Vulkan is more complex, but not hideously so.

A time traveling Danny Phantom as Kronos Pariah Dark as Uranus Clockwork as Khronos
Clockwork isn’t Kronos, he is Time itself, but Danny as Kronos, as his champion/Avatar and able to time travel without any consequences.
Danny did travel into the past to fight Pariah Dark again, while he was still Uranus. And after a few years of living with the Titans, Cyclops and Hekatonchiere, he left to kill/defeat Uranus and just left.
During that fight against Uranus, Danny kind of broke off a few parts of his Essence. Pariah Dark Alive was just as strong when he was a Ghost.
The Olympians are created similar to how Akatosh creates the Dragons. They were part of him, kind of like his Essence that broke off him, mirror-shards if you will, that Rhea did fuse with her own.
Danny never did marry Rhea, just left from his Essence and shards left behind as he did time travel again.
Rhea used those mirror-shards to create her six children out of the seven shards. She did find 6 and the last one was found and used by a Philyra, the Nymph/Oceanid, which kind of angered Rhea.
Till modern times, the OG Olympians never met Danny/Kronos. They did feel their father a few times in history, but never truly met him at all.
But the 7 later meet their Sister Dani/Ellie.
