the flickering bathroom lights stung your eyes, the harsh colors reflecting off the cracked tiles. pink, blue, yellow…too bright for a place so dark.

all of the oxygen available reeked of blood and sweat, thick with the scent of death that clung to your skin like a second layer. myung-gi’s dead body still felt present in your mind, even if it was gone now.

even if his blood had already soaked into the tiles, mixing with the filth beneath.

jun-hee’s screams shattered the silence. the woman’s hands clawed at the slippery floor, sweat glistening off her pale skin. she was shaking, her body betraying her, contractions ripping through her frame with violent force.

“not here, not in this fucking place,” you whispered, voice cracking as you pressed your hands against her trembling knees, trying to keep her steady.

“i-i can’t.. fuck y/n, it hurts,” jun-hee sobbed, her head thrown back against the wall.

jun-hee’s face was pale, lips tinged blue.

you swallowed down the bile rising in your throat. there was no time to break, no time to fall apart.

“i know, jun-hee. i know. i’m sorry but you need to push. we don’t have time.”

hyun-ju was pacing behind you, her hands shaking.

“y/n, i—what do we do? i can’t—”

“hyun-ju, i need you here! go sit behind her now!” your voice echoed, harsh and trembling. you didn’t have the strength to be soft, not when jun-hee was bleeding out right in front of you.

hyun-ju flinched but dropped to her knees behind jun-hee, pressing her hand gently against jun-hee’s damp forehead.

“you can do this, jun-hee. we’re here, okay? just focus on breathing and on y/n.”

you pulled off your jacket, spreading it out on the filthy floor, your hands stained red already. you had nothing…no sterile tools, no medical supplies…just your clothes and a dinner knife you’d pocketed earlier, now the only thing sharp enough to cut the umbilical cord that will come with the baby.

“okay, jun-hee. when the next contraction hits, you push, alright? as hard as you can.”

jun-hee eyes fluttered shut, tears streaking down her face.

“myung-gi�� he should be here.”

your heart cracked at the mention of your brother’s name.

“i know. however, you’re strong, jun-hee. you can do this for him…for your baby.”

another contraction tore through her body, and she screamed, pushing with what little strength she had left. blood pooled between her legs, too much, seeping into your pants, into your skin, into your hands. you tried not to focus on it, but it was everywhere.

“you’re doing so good,” you lied, voice trembling as you reached down, feeling the baby’s head crowning.

“just a little more, jun-hee. she’s almost here.”

“i-i can’t—” her body convulsed, the effort draining her, but she kept going. you guided the baby out, hands slippery with blood, praying you wouldn’t drop her.

there she was.

a tiny, fragile body, slick with blood and fluids, silent.

“she’s not crying!!! y/n, she’s not…” hyun-ju’s voice was panicked, bordering on hysteria.

you flipped the baby gently, patting her back hard, once, twice… until a shrill cry pierced the air. you gasped, tears spilling freely as the baby wailed in your arms.

“she’s okay,” you sobbed, wrapping the crying newborn in your jacket.

“she’s okay, jun-hee.”

suddenly, jun-hee’s head lolled to the side, her body going limp.

“NO NO, jun-hee, stay with me!” hyun-ju was screaming now, her hands pressing against jun-hee’s cheeks, trying to keep her awake.

you cut the umbilical cord quickly with shaking hands, the knife slick and dull but sharp enough. your clothes were soaked, heavy with blood, your shirt sticking to your skin as you ripped it off, placing it beneath jun-hee’s body, trying to slow the bleeding, but it was useless.

“is–is she okay?” jun-hee weekly spoke, her eyes half open as she looked at her baby on your arms.

“she’s perfect. a girl, jun-hee. you have a daughter.” your voice broke as you knelt beside her, cradling the crying baby in your arms, but your eyes never left jun-hee’s dying face.

the mother’s eyelids fluttered weakly, her pupils glassy as they struggled to focus on you. blood pooled beneath her, sticky and warm, soaking into the floor and into your hands as you pressed them desperately against her side, trying to stop the bleeding.

it was useless. too much was already gone and nothing here can save her.

“is… is she okay?” jun-hee’s repeats. maybe for reassurance? you had no clue.

maybe for reassurance that she can pass on knowing her daughter would be okay..

“she’s okay. she’s so strong, jun-hee. she’s crying, she’s—” your throat closed up, the lie tasting bitter on your tongue.

the truth was the baby was fragile, too fragile for this world. you couldn’t tell jun-hee that. not now.

jun-hee’s lips trembled into a faint smile, her face pale, her skin cold beneath your bloodied hands.

“my baby… my babygirl… my so-yi…”

jun-hee’s fingers twitched, reaching out weakly, but she was too far gone to even touch her daughter.

“you did it, jun-hee. you brought her into the world. she’s beautiful. she’s safe,” you choked out, your tears spilling freely, blurring her fading features.

player 222’s eyes met yours one last time, glassy but filled with something softer.

gratitude, maybe, or love.

“take care of her… both of you… please…”

“we will. i swear it,” you promised, your voice cracking, the weight of her words sinking into your chest like a stone.

jun-hee’s breath hitched, her body trembling violently before going still.

the mother’s eyes stayed open, but the life behind them was gone. she closed them, feeling tired of fighting the blood loss.

“no jun-hee, don’t do that! stay with me!” you screamed, shaking her limp body, your hands slipping on the blood coating her skin.

“you can’t leave! please! jun-hee, open your eyes!”

she didn’t.

jun-hee’s body lay still, her final words lingering in the air as your sobs echoed through the hollow bathroom.

hyun-ju collapsed beside you, her own sobs raw and broken.

“she’s gone,” she whispered, but you couldn’t accept it.

you gripped jun-hee’s face, your bloodied hands framing her cheeks.

“you were supposed to make it. you were supposed to raise her. this isn’t how it was supposed to happen!”

your cries grew louder, your whole body shaking as the weight of her death hit you fully. so-yi’s soft whimpers filled the silence, grounding you even as your world shattered around you.

“i can’t do this without you,” you whispered to jun-hee’s lifeless body, your tears dripping onto her pale skin.

hyun-ju collapsed against the wall, sobbing into her hands as jun-hee’s body was limp against her. you let the baby rest gently on your jacket, wrapping her as tightly as you could, before pulling off your joggers, leaving yourself in nothing but your undergarments.

you placed the baby onto the makeshift bedding of your clothes, ensuring she was safe before crawling back to jun-hee.

your hands were stained red, covered in your best friend’s blood, your nails chipped and broken. you pressed your forehead against jun-hee’s still-warm skin, sobs wracking your body.

“i’m so fucking sorry. i tried…i really tried!!”

hyun-ju moved beside you, her tears falling freely as she whispered, “she’s gone.”

you both sat there for what felt like hours, the baby’s soft cries the only sound cutting through the suffocating silence.

outside, the vote was happening. you knew they’d vote to leave.

its only gi hun and dae-ho left outside. the games were over.

however, it didn’t feel like it ended at all for you and hyun-ju.

the sound of the loudspeaker blared through the cracks in the bathroom walls, cutting through the suffocating silence.

you felt the words pierce through you like a blade. your bestfriend’s name, your niece’s mother, reduced to a number, spoken without care or acknowledgment of the life she had just given… and the life she had just lost.

the tiny wails from so-yi echoed louder than the announcement. you blinked through the tears clouding your vision, your body trembling as you lifted the fragile bundle back into your arms.

your jacket barely kept her warm, but it was all you had. so-yi’s tiny fingers curled against the rough fabric, her skin so soft, so new, untouched by the horrors around her.

she is covered in jun-hee’s contents, proof that her mother was alive just minutes ago.

“we need to go,” hyun-ju murmured, voice hoarse, though her body remained frozen beside jun-hee’s lifeless form.

the ex-sergeant's tear-stained face was pale, eyes wide with disbelief as if she was still hoping jun-hee might wake up.

“i… i can’t leave her,” you whispered, your hand gently brushing a piece of hair away from jun-hee’s bloodied forehead.

hyun-ju crouched next to you, placing a shaky hand on your shoulder.

“we have to. they’re waiting outside… and so-yi… she needs help outside of this place now!”

you closed your eyes tightly, willing yourself to move, to breathe. every part of you wanted to stay there, in that dystopian nightmare of a bathroom, beside jun-hee, refusing to accept that she was gone.

then so-yi whimpered again, and you realized she was the only thing left of jun-hee, her tiny life, entrusted to you.

“okay,” you breathed, more to yourself than anyone else.

you gently laid jun-hee’s body down, pulling her joggers up as if she didn’t just give birth. you covered her as best as you could with what was left of your shirt.

it wasn’t enough. nothing ever would be.

the walk back to the dorms felt endless. hyun-ju stayed close behind you, her body tense, eyes scanning every corner as though someone might jump out and take the baby from you. hyun-ju’s protective nature flared now more than ever, especially with the fragile life you carried.

your own body shook violently, still wearing only your white sports bra and the green joggers that stuck to your legs from dried blood. your bare feet ached against the cold, dirty floors, but you didn’t stop, not when so-yi whimpered softly in your arms.

the dorm doors loomed ahead, metallic and cold. you pushed them open with your shoulder, the heavy metal creaking loudly as you stepped inside.

every eye in the room turned toward you.

gi-hun stood first, mouth slightly agape, the small group of remaining players behind him. he and dae-ho were frozen in place. the sight of you, half-naked, covered in blood, carrying a newborn, was too much for any of them to process.

“what…?” gi-hun’s voice trailed off as the loudspeaker echoed again.

“voting complete. the majority has chosen to leave the game. the prize money will be divided equally among remaining players.”

at the exact moment the words ended, so-yi let out another wail, her tiny lungs filling the vast room.

you stood there, barely breathing, tears spilling freely again. your arms clutched the baby tighter, feeling her warmth against your blood-soaked skin.

“jun-hee… she’s gone t-t-too, isn’t she?” dae-ho asked quietly, though the answer was painfully clear.

you nodded slowly, your throat too tight to speak.

gi-hun stepped forward, his face softening, filled with horror and grief.

“is the baby—”

“she’s okay,” you croaked, voice cracking as the words left your mouth.

“jun-hee… she named her so-yi before she… before she…”

your knees buckled under you, but hyun-ju caught you just in time, her arms wrapping around both you and the baby, grounding you when everything else felt like it was falling apart.

“we need to get out of here,” hyun-ju whispered, but you could barely register her words.

the next moments blurred together… the masked guards appeared, herding everyone out.

they didn’t take so-yi from you. no one did. no one could’ve.

when you were finally shoved into a van, blindfolded, you still clung to so-yi, feeling her tiny heartbeat against your chest. hyun-ju sat beside you blindfolded too, her hand gripping your thigh tightly, the only anchor you had left.

“they’ll… they’ll throw us back out into the world now,” hyun-ju murmured, her voice barely audible over the hum of the van engine.

you nodded, though it didn’t feel real.

“we have the money,” she added, squeezing your leg.

“we’ll be okay.”

the thought of the blood on your skin, the blood still drying between your fingers from jun-hee — it screamed that nothing was okay. not really.

the van jerked to a stop. rough hands pulled you out, but they didn’t take so-yi. they never did.

“step out,” a guard grunted.

you climbed out, barefoot and shivering, still blindfolded, so-yi crying softly against your chest. you felt hyun-ju’s presence behind you… solid, unwavering.

after… the van drove off, the sound fading into the distance, leaving you in the middle of nowhere.

you ripped the blindfold off, blinking against the gray sky. the streets were empty. cold wind brushed against your exposed skin, but so-yi’s warmth in your arms kept you focused.

hyun-ju stepped closer, brushing a tear from your cheek.

“we’re out. we made it.”

you broke then, sobs wracking your body.

“she’s gone, hyun-ju. jun-hee is gone. myung-gi didn’t make it, so-yi has no parents!!”

hyun-ju didn’t say anything. instead, she cupped your face gently, her own tears falling freely.

“but so-yi… she’s here, and we’re going to take care of her…. just like jun-hee wanted.”

you looked down at the baby, her tiny face scrunched as she cried, her hands waving weakly.

“she’s ours now,” you whispered, voice trembling.

Thanos / Player 230

જ⁀➴ Before he really knew, he'd constantly make your life a living hell, basically making fun of your shyness. He'd make certain comments to which he knew you wouldn't react to or would try to persuade you to vote in favor of the game containing.

જ⁀➴ You'd constantly tell him off and to leave you alone. It didn't really help, though. Thanos would just sit down next to you and talk your ear off about what he wanted to do with that prize money.

જ⁀➴ When you stood up to leave, rollung your eyes at him, he grabbed you by your wrist.

"Hey, where do you think you're going?" Thanos blurted out, giving you an offended glare. "You know, it's really rude to just leave a conversation like that." When you tried to get out of his grip, your sleeves rode up your arm, revealing scars you weren't proud of or wanted him to see. When you realized it, he did too, immediately letting go of you.

જ⁀➴ Since Thanos knew what it meant to struggle with mental health he did actually leave you alone for now. But, after the next game, he approached you again and sat down next to you. "I'm sorry about yesterday." he said, patting you on the back.

જ⁀➴ He related to you in a way, but didn't want to ask you about what went on in your private life. Now you just appreciated that he seemingly didn't overstep any boundaries anymore and even checked up from you every now and then.

Se-mi / Player 380

જ⁀➴ You and her had been a duo ever since she came up to you and complimented your looks. Even if you denied it or not, she'd repeat it multiple times, winning you over with her charm quickly.

જ⁀➴ You two had the same mindset on a lot of things, originally voting 'O', thinking you were able to survive one more lousy game. That game was a death scare. Nothing about it was funny anymore. You appreciated your life too much these days to die like this.

જ⁀➴ When the second favor didn't go your way, both Se-mi and you now voting 'X', you felt helpless. One night, the two of you were sitting on her bed, just talking about your past and how you got to this point in the first place. While Se-mi was more secluded, only telling you that 'there are so much worse things she had to face when she got out' you trusted her enough to tell her about a sensitive time in your life.

"I'm not really secretive about this anymore," you pushed your sleeves up, revealing faded scars along your forearm, "but yeah. It was all pretty fucked up. The whole debt thing didn't make it any better." Se-mi looked at you with raised eyebrows, her fingers tracing the lines on your wrists. "I knew you were strong. Don't worry, we'll get out of here."

જ⁀➴ She put in double the work to protect you — She just wanted you to start a better life with that money and be happy, free from debt and all of it.

Cho Hyun-ju / Player 120

જ⁀➴ Hyun-ju noticed from the start that you were more secluded, more prone to cry, panicked easily. It was clear to her that you were struggling with this situation, perhaps even more than that. She made it her task to help you as much as she could, comfort you and keep you close to her and her group.

જ⁀➴ You'd often rant to her and tell her what bothered you after she reassured her she'd take care of anything possible. Hyun-ju was the anker you needed in this shithole and you just appreciated her very much. Everything she did seemed to be out of genuine interest and not just to gain your trust and abuse it.

જ⁀➴ Accidentally, Hyun-ju did catch a glimpse of the scars you were so desperate to hide. She didn't mention it, feeling like it wasn't her place to comment on it. Her heart did break for you, though.

જ⁀➴ From then on, she made sure to speak softer to you and distract you from all the horror around you.

Hyun-ju hugged you tightly against her chest, her arms engulfing your figure. "Tonight things could get a bit scary," she mumbled into your hair while she rested her face against your head, "I just want you to know now rather than find out later. I'll keep you safe, you know that." You just nodded, reciprocating the hug after a few moments.

Nam-gyu / Player 124

જ⁀➴ When he found out, as you didn't make the effort to hide them or anything, he did refrain from provoking you in any way. Nam-gyu related, as he considered his drug use not to be the best thing he could do to his body.

જ⁀➴ Both of you hung around in the same group, since Thanos really wanted you on his team, constantly giving you compliments and flirting with you. It annoyed him to a degree, scoffing everytime Thanos tried to talk to him about how pretty you were, how much he wanted you, give you the world. In Nam-gyu's opinion, he didn't get you.. didn't get what you went through, at all.

જ⁀➴ One evening before lights out, the two of you were teasing each other about something and laughed together — something that rarely occured amongst the other players.

"Want me to show you something?" Nam-gyu asked you, leaning a bit closer. Chuckling, you replied with a 'mhm' and watched him pull up the sleeve of his jacket, revealing skin tracks along the inside of his elbow. You raised an eyebrow: "Oh?" You took his arm to get a closer look, tracing his skin with your fingertips. "Well, we all have our stories, huh?" The man nodded at your wrists, making you look at them too, like you didn't already know what he meant.

જ⁀➴ The both of you grew close to each other, much to his amuse. He was a junkie, you were depressed.. it's like a disaster in the making. But, you didn't care. He was sweet and weirdly kind to you — Not in the way Thanos was. You made sure to hug Nam-gyu a few times more after that, in case it could be the last time you'd get to do that.

Kang Dae-ho / Player 388

જ⁀➴ You were glad to be on Gi-hun's team from the start, since Dae-ho and you got along really well. As a former Marine, which he was super proud of obviously, he declared he'd protect you immediately after you met, making you laugh.

જ⁀➴ He was kind, strong and funny, but maybe a bit oblivious at times.

During the six-legged pentathlon, you two sat next to each other, cheering the current active team on. Yelling and screaming filled the area as they crossed the finish lind just in time, making everyone erupt in cheers. Dae-ho immediately hugged you with joy, excited to see the five live another day, at least. After pulling back witha laugh, you gave him a small high five with your sleeve rolled back. When noticing scars along your wrist and forearm, the former marine gasped pretty loudly. "What?" you asked with genuine concerning, fearing something was wrong with you. "Oh, I'm so sorry," Dae-ho pulled your sleeve back over your arm. "Dude," he looked at you with wide eyes "it's fine." You needed to hold back a laugh.

જ⁀➴ Dae-ho felt so bad to havs accidentally seen something you've been struggling with, that he couldn't help but apologize profusely. You repeated to him that it wasn't a big deal for you and that you were working on this problem, but he didn't stop nonetheless.

જ⁀➴ You thought it was cute how much he seemed to care for you and how often he came up to you just to tell you that he appreciated you. And Dae-ho did, he didn't just say that to make you feel better.

Park Min-su / Player 125

જ⁀➴ Min-su is just shy over all. When he noticed it, he wouldn't say a thing. He'd be dead silent, maybe even a bit scared to talk to you. He was just scared he'd make it awkward, somehow hinting that he knew about your scars. Min-su was just someone who overthought a lot and even you noticed it.

જ⁀➴ After a bit, it annoyed you — The sudden lack of his presence next to you, the fact that he wouldn't properly talk to you anymore, it was all just weird and confusing. So, you decided to ask him directly.

"Did I do something wrong?" your voice wasn't stern, but Min-su could tell that you were kind of upset. "Ah, no-" he quickly replied back, shaking his head, "it's really not you!" He looked at you with his typical innocent face, making it hard for you to keep pressing him about this matter. "Then what is it, seriously?"

જ⁀➴ He explained what he saw and said that he just felt so sorry. Well, at least he didn't speak to you because he didn't want to hurt or upset you, which was really thoughtful.

જ⁀➴ You'd expect that he would now be the one to comfort you or something, but no it was the complete opposite. Min-su seemed to worried about you and kept asking you how you were feeling or if anything bothered you. You had to keep reassuring him that those times were in the past and that he didn't have to be so worried.

જ⁀➴ It was really cute though, so you let it slide.

Kim Jun-hee / Player 222 (implied fem!reader)

જ⁀➴ Since Jun-hee and you were pretty close in age, you two had found each other right away. You kept telling her that she needed more protection, or at least an ally like you, on her side sincs she was pregnant. You weren't really serious about that, just chuckling when bringing it up, but ut definitely made Jun-hee trust you a lot more. It was a critical situation she was in and she was glad to have you by her side.

જ⁀➴ You even banged on the door in the middle of the night to make the guards take her to the bathroom when she was to shy to do it herself.

As ths pink guard brought you to the womens bathroom, Jun-hee held onto you, clearly being in pain. A few minutes later, you were washing your hands and tried to fix yourself up, looking a bit disgusted in the mirror. "What is it?" Jun-hee emerged from one of the stalls, chuckling. "Man, I look like a damn zombie. Look what this place has done to us." Instead of getting a reply, you noticed that she was staring at your arms, at your scars. You had taken your jacket off for convenience and kind of forgot about them. "Oh, I'm sor-" Jun-hee interrupted you, "No! No, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have stared like that!"

જ⁀➴ Obviously everyone had their struggles, but now her own kind of seemed insignificant next to yours. You were doing so much for her and she didn't even know that you were struggling. She should've thought of that.

જ⁀➴ When voicing that thought to you, you felt bad that you made her feel like that. With a hug, it was all sorted out. Jun-hee cared deeply for you and she could tell that you cared for her like that, too. It was nice to know that someone had your back in a place like this.

“wanna go to japan?” you asked, it was a spontaneous trip since your team had just earned a week off after a successful mission.

the boy grinned, “of course.”

it was (usually) difficult to maintain relationships in the agency. however, you two were in love, and now had the opportunity to be alone together for an extended period of time.

“god, i’m exhausted!” the boy dramatically yelled out as he jumped on the bed of the hotel room.

you laughed in response as you sat next to him, his body laying face down into the now-wrinkled sheets.

“cmonnn! you’re no fun.” you said as you shook hyun-jun to get him up.

“we have to take a bath y’know.” you added, being met with him immediately jumping up.

“we, as in— together?” he replied, his signature smirk on his pretty face as he looked at you. it almost convinced you to go along with it.

you playfully slapped his shoulder. “you perv!” you yelled out with a laugh, being met with him letting out a dramatic sigh and another dive into the warm embrace of the bedsheets.

you set your luggage down and after a few minutes, laid next to him, smiling as you did so.

“i might take you up on that offer.” you said, immediately causing the boy to turn to look straight at you.

“seriously?” he asked you, the grin on his face growing every passing second.

you laughed as you nodded, him jumping up and grabbing a towel in response.

you both got into the bathtub, setting the scene with candles, wine, and dimmed lights. with how busy your lives were, it was hard to get those cliché romantic movie-like moments.

“comfy?” your boyfriend asked you, smiling down at you.

“yeah, this is nice,” you replied, returning his smile. you were lying on hyun-jun, his arms wrapped around your waist; the closeness of your bodies made it feel all the more intimate.

“are you okay like that?” you asked, fidgeting around slightly before the boy held you still.

“i’m okay, don’t worry.” hyun-jun reassured you, grinning as he quietly laughed.

you smiled as you took a sip of wine. “i’m glad we’re doing this.” you spoke.

your job was stressful, so relaxing in a different country without any responsibilities was like weight off of your shoulders.

after a moment, hyun-jun spoke again. “i love you, y/n, a lot. it’s refreshing to be here with you. with no worries.”

you smiled at those words, his hand gently encapsulating yours as he used his free hand to gently caress your skin.

he carefully moved your chin up toward him to kiss you, his lips locking onto yours for a few moments before pulling away to simply admire you.

“you’re beautiful.” he mumbled just above a whisper, his face now leaning into the nape of your neck.

“so are you.” you said back, smiling softly as you moved and gave him a soft peck on the lips.

“you flatter me.” hyun-jun joked, you laughing softly alongside him.

a few more moments of comfortable silence, and you both ended up in the large bed of the hotel room.

you laid your head onto hyun-jun’s chest, his hand wandering up and down your bare back as you mindlessly traced shapes onto the soft skin of his abdomen.

this was one of the rare moments where you had nothing to stress about; your focus was only on him, the love of your life.

everything that took you to this current moment was worth it.

after a few moments, hyun-jun broke the silence.

“so— how does five sound?”

“five what?”

“five babies.” he answered, his big grin growing as he looked at you.

Joining the squid games could possibly be the last thing any person with common sense and a reason to live would consider doing. Unless they either had none.

That's what it looked like for you. The games you had to do to win 45.6 billion won had you either questioning if it's still worth it to still keep going or just to end it all on this island.

Out of all the people in these games, there's one face that you despised seeing and wondered how he's still alive after what he did, Myung-Gi.

He's your ex boyfriend. Being with him was great at first, but once he was invested in the crypto coin thing business, it felt like you're being cheated on. It also didn't help that he had an affair behind your back with a girl named Kim Jun-hee who turned up pregnant.

You didn't hate Kim Jun-hee, as you felt bad for her that your ex abandoned her and their baby, but the whole thing hurted you.

There's nothing more you wanted to get out of here with enough money to move to another place and start off fresh.

When you first woke up in the dormitory with all the other players, you wondered where this possibly could go. You looked around to see so many unfamiliar faces.

Then a man in a pinkish red suit all the way across the room wuth a black covered mas with a white triangle comes out from double doors and starts explaining why majority are here. Because of their debts.

They showed different videos of people playing Ddakji and getting slapped in the face. There was one face you recognized, your ex. It wouldn't be surprising that he was in debt for trying to chase after the crypt coin thing.

It looks like you're not the only one who hated him, many people who fell for the crypto coin were also mad at him. A purple-haired guy stood out from the rest, as he was a rapper you heard from others who were apparently fans. You had no interest in him or your ex but were wondering what the whole ordeal of winning money is.

You had to sign a waiver for the games, and you were soon directed to take pictures. It was rough enough. Then you would have to climb stairs that seemed like you were going to Mount Everest. You saw your ex from the right side across. You also didn't want to risk being seen.

Finally, you reached the first game after what seemed like an eternity. There was a huge robot doll and the whole layout was supposed to imitate a school playground with its blue sky and sand ground.

"Hey there pretty" You turn around and see the purple haired guy who was talking to your ex

"Who are you?" You exclaimed looking him up and down not in the mood to be hit on.

"I'm Choi Seung-hyun, Thanos for my music. You might of heard my raps before?"

"If I did, I probably would want to be deaf right now. Including not hearing this conversation."

He pretended to be hurt and put a hand over his heart.

"Ouch girl. Cold aren't you?"

You rolled your eyes. He sees another girl walks by and also tries talking to her. Poor girl, you thought.

"Y/N?" You hear your name being called and look around.

"Y/N!" A hand fell on your shoulder and you flinched turning around.

It was Myung-Gi. Your panic turned into annoyance as you rolled your eyes again.

"What are you doing here?" He asks

"Should be asking you that too, but I think it's obvious."

"Can we please talk?"

"What's there to talk about Myung-Gi? You chose a cyrpt coin over me and cheated on me, and got another girl pregant"

"And I regret it very much. Please come back."

"Share those regrets with the others in here too, including the mother of your child."

He tried to reply back but you walked away from him, ignoring him.

Speakers came on, explaining the rules of the game.

A screaming man came into the front and said it's not what we think the game is. He exclaims that if you move, you'll die.

People around you scoffed and found the man crazy. It seemed like to you he was crazy too, but what if he was right?

He was still screaming telling people not to move a muscle when the game starts.

The robot started turning around and putting her hand up to the tree to not look at the other player.

It started singing.

"Everyone freeze!" The man in front says.

Nobody moved a muscle. Your eyes looked around and saw no one moving. What if the guys telling the truth?

The doll looked away and you started moving forward quickly along with everyone else.

"Everyone freeze!" Yelled again the older man.

There was a scream coming from a girl who moved. She laughed exclaiming she just moved. A bullet came through her head and she dropped dead.

The guy really wasn't lying then. One wrong move, you're dead. More people started moving and more gunshots were coming.

Bodies were dropping. People are screaming. This was a bad idea to be here. You were also pretty sure you were going to die with your ex boyfriend. That another cherry on top to add.

"If you don't make it to the finishing line on time, you'll also die." The man yells but has his mouth covered like he was going to take a sneeze.

It felt impossible to win this game. You were so sure you were going to win money but now the only thing you could be winning is death. You wanted to see if Myung-Gi was still alive.

But you couldn't risk being shot. Everyone sooned formed into a single file line. The man explained that the doll can't see what's behind a person if there's a bigger person in front.

More gunshots came. More bodies dropping. You couldn't stop now though. You're close to the finish line, you can feel it.

You soon reached the finish line relieved that you made it alive. You looked around for Myung-Gi to see if he's alive.

Why do you care so much about him? You thought to yourself.

It's just basic human sympathy you thought. Hating him is one thing, but him dying is another.

The game ended and you witnessed the man who warned about the game, you see his number was 456 and another, a woman helping a man who got shot in the leg reach the finish line get shot in the head.

This isn't just a game. This life or death. Everyone including you who passed were allowed to go back to the dorms.

Zoned out walking, seeing bodies and blood, you hear your name being called.

"Y/N!"

Turning around to see who called your name, you see Myung-Gi run up to you.

"Hey, are you okay?"

A light smile came from your face.

"Yes I'm alright and you?"

"Alive thank God." He chuckled.

You chuckled lightly but didn't know what to say after. Usually, you would have something smart to say to him but after what happened, you wanted nothing more to be out of here.

There were yelling and shouts to how the man knew they would shoot if you lost the game. They were accusing the man of being behind the game.

A pink guard then came out and congratulated us for completing the first game. It then if a majority voted to O, you could leave the game.

Everyone chose their own sides O and X. You chose X, even though you desperately wanted the money to be able to move to another city. You see Jun-Hee, his other ex, chose X too. Myung-Gi chose O, which you weren't surprised.

Unfortunately there were more O's than X's which meant you had to stay. You were heartbroken but also upset and turned to Myung-Gi. Now you wish he died in the first game.

You went up to him and turned him around aggressively and slapped him across the face. People looked at you guys, but you didn't care.

"You're really that selfish, you had to choose O?"

"Y/N-"

"The mother of your child is in this game and you choose O. I should have known from the start dating you was a bad idea. If these games don't kill you, I will."

You stormed off away from him and went to your bed. Myung-Gi probably thought you were bluffing about you killing him.

Something deep down you wanted to keep that word true.

It looks like you'll have to wait and see the next day.

Cho Hyun Ju

Even before your relationship, the girl was a sergeant in the army for a long time, where she learned excellent discipline. She go to bed early and also wake up early. Thanks to it, you have also arranged a proper daily routine. Sleeping with her is very calm. You always put your head on her chest and hug her waist with one hand, she also hugs you and puts her head on the top of your head. Ju's sleep is very sensitive, even so she protects you, so she will immediately wake up if she realizes that something happened to you. Therefore, if you turn over in your sleep, your girlfriend can wake up.

Hwang In Ho

A man often comes home from work very late, so you go to bed without him, he will only join you soon, lie down neatly next to you, and gently hug you with one hand. He will do everything very quietly so as not to wake you up. He always watches you sleep peacefully for a while. This picture makes him very calm, and soon Ho falls asleep himself.

Thanos (Su Bong)

Secondly: he snores loudly, and even when you ask him to stop, he doesn't wake up, he sleeps like a dead man. Thirdly: he constantly, CONSTANTLY toss and turns in his sleep and can't sleep in one position, so don't be surprised if he touches you from different sides and pushes you out of bed. Fourth: he is a fan of taking away the blanket from you, that sometimes you want to sleep under different, but somehow you still can't realize this idea. Fifth: he sometimes talks in his sleep. In general, Su Bong is hyperactive even in a dream, but you love him, so try not to pay attention, because most likely he is not aware of what he is doing.

Kim Jun Hee

Since the girl gave birth to a child, the dream is not so calm, because the baby often cries at night and you take turns waking up to calm and care of him. Sometimes the baby sleeps in his lullaby, and sometimes he sleeps with you. Despite this, you and Jun Hee find a way to enjoy each other well while sleeping, so sleep in a very strong embrace. Your breath can calm each other down.

Nam Gyu

Your boyfriend is crazy about physical contact, even in his sleep! That's why he always hugs you with a dead grip that you can't turn over until the morning, and if you try, he immediately wakes up and starts grumbling through sleep, telling you not to go anywhere and you have to obey. Your requests for Gyu not to hug you so much don't work, he won't listen to you and will do his own way. It's just calmer for him, because the guy wants to protect you.

summary: you and your best friend hyun-ju were both at the mercy of this horrible game in order to pay your debts. However, in the middle of the game, you found comfort in the presence of another person, which sparked some unwanted feelings inside hyun-ju's heart.

➤ Staying at this hellish place was not for the frail or for the weak, both physically and mentally. You had already finished 3 games, and you simply couldn't wait to go back to your precious home, as you finally realized how much you missed it.

But things weren't completely lost, at least you hoped so. You still had your precious friend with you, and that eased your spirits. She was mature, collected, and always knew what to do. It was like she had a natural leadership. It gave you a comforting sensation knowing that you had her.

Well, you had some other idiot too.

Dae-ho was like an useless ray of sunshine. His positive humor and personality were a contrast with the harsh reality of this dark place. You quickly found a good relationship with him. Before you even realized, you were spending time with him, sharing food and starting conversations. His presence, albeit childish, calmed you down a lot more than you would expect.

And that didn't go unnoticed by hyun-ju.

She had formed a nice, small group with her former partners. An old lady named Jang geum-ja, with her son, Yonsik, and a small girl named young-mi kim (who you managed to save last second in mingle by pulling her to your room). You grew very found of them, but that didn't mean Hyun-ju felt the same with your former partner. Quite the opposite.

She couldn't stand the overgrowing jealousy inside her. You two only were friends, her feelings didn't matter on this situation. She shouldn't get jealous of a partner she didn't have.

She just wished you spent more time with her. She just wished you spent less time with him. She just wished you paid more attention to her. She just wished-... Dang it.

Her feelings didn't go unnoticed by people, anyone could notice her bold feelings. Anyone but you. Everyone in the room could read her growing jealousy, everyone could notice her gentle stares at you and the not-so-gentle glares she sent in Dae-ho's direction. Again, everyone but you.

You, Jun-hee (a friendly pregnant player who you had grow really protective of.), Geum-ja and Hyun-ju were at the female bathroom. After a couple of minutes, both ladies had left the bathroom, but not before wishing goodnight and to take care to both of you. Leaving only you and Hyun-ju alone in the immense bathroom, full of multiple cubicles painted a nice shade of pink.

You could notice her not-so-friendly stare to her own reflection at the mirror. You knew she was having one of those insecure moments were her dysphoria was hitting her like a ton of bricks. But before you could protest any further, you heard her quiet voice mutter to you.

"... What is your relationship with him?"

The silence that invaded the room was so heavy it could be cut with a knife. You were half confused and half in shock. You two were friends, sure. And friends talked about crushes right? Right. But this... This didn't seem like the case. You, after a few seconds of contemplation, finally managed to get a response out.

"What do you mean, Hyu-" before you could even finish your sentence, you were harshly pinned to the wall of one of the cubicles. Her bigger frame towering above you.

"Do you know how you make me feel? Can't you feel it? Can't you notice it?" your confusion was quickly shattered as you finally could connect the pieces together.

Hyun-ju cho liked you.

And, at this moment, she was jealous.

You mentally facepalmed as you didn't have the capacity to realize it sooner. On one side, you felt like a stupid, idiot buffoon. On the other, your insides felt like melting at the realization that the love of your life felt the same way too.

You almost forgot the situation you were on as a quiet grunt pulled you out of your daydreams. Ah, right, she was still mad.

You gently put your hands on her cheeks, her expression softening almost immediately. You slowly start pulling her face down, and her body immediately obeys your subtle command.

"I love you, Hyun-ju."

It was the unasked, but obvious reassurance that she needed at the moment. Her body immediately bends to you, laying her face to your neck and snuggling her body as close as she could manage to yours.

"now, let's go back, we need to-" she again interrupted you. But this time, you could say you were more pleased than offended.

"don't think i can simply let you go after everything." she says, gently biting on your shoulder after a few seconds.

"uh...?" you silent question was quickly aswered by a harsh grope to your butt.

"i know you more than you know yourself, my dear. Don't think i don't realize how you used to stare at me before we entered here."

You were dumbfounded, unable to do any movement due to shock and a hundred of other feelings you couldn't describe properly.

But none of them were bad.

Your small paradise was quickly interrupted by a loud banging agaisnt the door, followed by a harsh voice.

"player 120, player [number], back to your dormitory, now!"
