THIS, I have two fire characters. They can be violent, angry, destuctive sure... every human can be. But thye are feisty, they are *life*, and spark and warmth and love and feirce protective embraces wrapped into one.

yeah yeah fire-based characters are destructive and angry and violent and evil blah blah blah BORING overdone. more fire as a lifegiver. warm and comforting. fire-based characters as guides lighting the way. personal heater in the cold and dark but don’t sleep too close or you’ll wake up with heat rash. fire sterilizes and cauterizes!! more fire-based healers. plants perking up and flowers turning towards them and they attract moths. fire-based characters who are hearths instead of wildfires!! the core of a home the pillar of a community the key to societal advancement. give them an internal flame that visibly glows and flickers instead of a heart that beats. extinguish that light when they die. etc

One Month Until Sign-Ups Are Live!

Hello, and happy start of August! Gifts of Eos has one more month until sign-ups are live for the month of September, and our first Final Fantasy XV fan gift exchange takes place! We have been really happy to see others that have shared our posts on both here and over on our BlueSky, and seem to be excited for it to take place! We look forward to seeing all kinds of different fanworks created for the sole purpose of making someone else happy within the fan sphere. ♥

We are also happy to announce that our Gifts of Eos Discord is now live as well!

It is not a requirement to join our Discord to participate in the gift exchange. While it may make organizing everything easier for us, we are aware that not everyone wants to join a Discord just to be part of something. That is fine! We will do our best to keep all of our venues that are available outside of it as updated as possible!

Day 4

Normally I see Selena going into some kind of art field, but today's 'Rescue' prompt made me think about how she might rescue him.

So she came to Insomnia too, got her medical degree, and became a doctor!

The picture on the left is supposed to be her as a resident (and omg I just realized I forgot to give her gloves lol, oops) while the badge is supposed to be her a little older as a fully-fledged doctor.

As for Nyx...he's not having much fun here. Lichtenberg figures on skin normally go away very quickly, so I always thought his scars might be from some weird daemon poison. In particular I always picture a really big daemon scorpion.

Clarus and Cor mean well, but the former is 10-20 years behind on his pop-culture references and the latter mixes up all the words.

At this time of year I always think about the last day of the Kingsglaives.

I draw pictures imagining that there may have been peaceful days for them.

But I wish I could know the characters' birthdays so I could celebrate by drawing a picture without any sad feelings.

Kingsglaive Timeline

We all know the timeline for FFXV is a little fuzzy at the best of times, but we thought we would go over what we know of the timeline of the movie. Unfortunately, there are only a few indications of hard dates in Kingsglaive, but we can make some educated guesses at the order of things, at least.

Unknown - Drautos gives briefing to Regis, Ardyn arrives with ultimatum

Unknown - Kingsglaive finds out about the treaty, Crowe is given her mission

Unknown - Crowe leaves on her mission, Chocobros leave on their road trip

May 14th - Luna arrives in Insomnia, Libertus and Nyx find out about Crowe, Libertus leaves

May 15th - Nyx gives Luna Crowe’s hairpin at the party, Luna is kidnapped by Glauca

May 16th - The day of the treaty and fall of Insomnia

First the hard dates we know. The treaty is signed on May 16th, with the attack happening that evening and into the night, with the movie ending at dawn on May 17th. The party on the roof, where Nyx passes Luna Crowe’s hairpin, is the evening before, so that makes it May 15th. Luna mentions meeting Nyx the day before, so that makes May 14th the day Nyx escorts Luna to Regis, Crowe’s death is revealed and Libertus leaves the Kingsglaive. A busy day!

That gives Libertus one day, May 15th, to get with the resistance and help them plant bombs, which seems quick, but maybe he knew them beforehand. 

Beyond those dates, we have educated guesses that we’ll go through in order. 

We see Drautos give a briefing to Regis, and perhaps the rest of the Council, in the throne room just before Ardyn shows up with the ultimatum about Noctis’ engagement. When we see Nyx meet up with the others at Yamachang’s, Luche seems to know about Ardyn’s visit and terms though the others don’t, so presumably this takes place the same day Ardyn visits or very shortly after.

How much time do you think they got between coming back from the opening battle and Drautos’ briefing/Ardyn’s arrival?

The rest of the Kingsglaive find out about the treaty when it gets announced on the news, Drautos gives them their briefing and sends Crowe on her mission. Whether this is the day after Arydn shows up or a few days later is anyone’s guess.

In Parting Ways, the audio drama prologue, the treaty date has not yet been set, but Libertus does know the terms of the treaty, so this sometime after the briefing. Unfortunately, there’s not any more clues to definitively place the audio drama as anywhere but after the Kingsglaive briefing but before Luna shows up on May 14th.

Sometime before May 14th, Crowe leaves on her mission and is killed. How many days did she get to prepare? How long does Drautos give her to get to Tenebrae and reach Luna? When her body is discovered and transported to the Citadel, how long has she been dead? Given that her body appears to still be in rigor when she’s found, that implies she hasn’t been dead more than 24 hours, which would put her death sometime on May 13th at the earliest. 

How long does it take to get to Tenebrae, anyway?

There are so many questions about the timeline of events that the movie just doesn’t answer. Fortunately, that’s what fanon is for. Please let us know your thoughts!
