I’ve been working on this for a little over a month now. After seeing the Sonic Twitter send a congratulations message from Amy to Peach, I had the idea of drawing Amy with forms to match Peach if she was in Princess Peach Showtime too! I tried to make them be unique and fit with Peach’s at the same time.

Swordfighter Amy: Leaning even more towards the Princess Knight/Utena aesthetic with the vibrant spring green to match her red rose.

Detective Amy: Similar colors but a younger feel compared to Peach’s mature look.

Patisserie Amy: With a whisk rather than a piping bag, she’s got a strawberry shortcake colored outfit drawing inspiration from the Kirapati uniforms.

Kung Fu Amy: Draco from Puyo Puyo inspired a different take on a martial arts outfit.

Ninja Amy: Might be easier to spot in the shadows but the maroon colors look great on her.

Cowgirl Amy: She stole some of Knuckles hat for this one.

Figure Skater Amy: Using mauve rather than blue, she’s got her old Fleetway hairstyle and a more Pretty Rhythm feel to her.

Dashing Thief Amy: Based on Phantomirage and Saint Tail, it gives her a bit of a magician look.

Mermaid Amy: Can you guess what Mermaid anime’s soundtrack I listened to as I drew this one?

Mighty Amy: Going back to her classic quills was inspired by the ‘Princess Amy’ from an old Sonic Super Special issue, and if Peach’s armor is red like Baymax then Amy gets purple like Hiro.

Radiant Amy: She takes on a shining gold hue like her dear Sonic’s super form. The color of a shining star.

Super Radiant Amy: Using the modern take on her super design seen in the Sonic World DX fangame (full props to them), she brings out her most brilliant spark.

~ You first met Pekorin at the market. She was getting groceries… all by herself— and clearly struggling to carry everything. Worried about the girl, you offered to assist her. At first, she declined— insisting she could do it all on her own. But she caved after dropping half the items. In the end, she ended up being really grateful for your help!

~ After that, she happily welcomed you to the KiraPati! You’re a special guest to her! She even tried convincing her friends to give you sweets for free. But you declined, and compromised with a discount.

~ Admittedly, you would only come to the KiraPati to see her. But Pekorin didn’t mind. In fact, it made her overjoyed! Each time she’d see you walk through the door, she’d sprint to you, and give you a big hug! She’d neglect her own duties just to sit and talk with you.

~ Pekorin’s always eager to make you proud. She seeks praise from those she admires. So she’d do anything to put a smile on your face, whether it be by baking you something, or just helping you in some way. A simple “Good job!” or pat on the head keeps her happy for the remainder of the day.

~ Her emotions can take over rather easily, so it doesn’t take a ton of effort for something or someone to make her cry— be it out of sadness or anger. When that does happen, she seeks out your comfort immediately. It doesn’t matter where you are, she’ll run out of the KiraPati, and will keep running until she’s in your arms.

~ With you and Pekorin’s deepened bond, she began to see a parental figure in you. She was unsure what to do with those feelings, so she decided to take a risk. On a parent-dedicated holiday, she baked you something special. When presenting it to you, she sheepishly mentioned the occasion and reasoning. Fear of rejection plagued her thoughts, but was soon soothed by your happy acceptance of her gift.

~ After that day, Pekorin didn’t hold back on her childlike affection towards you. Without hesitation, she clings to any limb she can get her tiny hands on, and follows you around. She seeks your attention and validation more than ever. And you’re more than happy to give them to her. After all, it’s what a parent should do.

So

With how I watched Miracle Universe yesterday, I obviously finished both KiraPre and Hugtto, so here are my final thoughts on them

(Major spoilers for every part of both seasons under the cut)

Kira Kira Precure A La Mode:

First of all like with all seasons I really love the major differences between all the main characters , but something I especially love about them is how well they go together to create the sillier and more homely vibe of the season, with Ichika, Himari, and Aoi having a sibling-like dynamic and Yukari & Akira being like second mothers to them

And furthermore I also love Yukari and Akira in general because oh my god they’re so cool. Yukari especially because I love how she’s always so collected and chill and one step ahead of everything, but also literally every Akira-centric episode feels like something out of a Fairy Tale and she literally turns her wand into a sword at some point which went hard as fluff. And the reveal that the person Yukari loves most outside of the KiraPati is her fans was so cute. And that one episode where Yukari turns into a cat was so peak and I NEED to see someone write a fanfiction about the 3-Star Kitty learning the truth about his boss because omg seeing him grieving her was so sad

Also I love how Yukari’s arc from the start had so many layers to it that are gradually unpacked one-by-one in all the episodes centered around her. By the time the episode about her perfectionism rolled around I already figured they were probably gonna be addressing that /vpos

And secondly I really loved the villains. First of all I love Gummy & Co. (Especially the spinny one omg I love her so much I wanna pick her up and cover her face in kiss marks) and the way they’re all just some guys after their belts are broken and I especially love how they took on the responsibility of finding and returning all the lost Fairies. I really hope there’s a spinoff about that at some point

And regarding Noir’s servants, outside of the way that they all mirror Star Twinkle villains (With Julio being like Kappard, Grave being like Tenjou, and Vibry being like Eyewon), Julio is the coolest general I’ve ever seen and literally every scene centered around him goes so hard. And I initially wasn’t expecting to think of Vibry the same way but her freakouts in the island episode and everything she does in Lumiere’s debut episode completely blew me away. And both of them are even better when they’re redeemed. Though it kinda sucks that Julio couldn’t have been a Sixth Ranger Cure

And aside from that Grave was also really cool in that one episode where he absorbs Diable’s power and the Precure have to unlock the Fantastic Animale to defeat him. However Diable himself kinda sucked after they turned him into average furrybait

And then of course at the top of them all is Elisio, who carries the moral dilemma of the season and has the final battle and can do the Noir Morphose and is just generally the coolest conceptually. But I still like Julio more

And then there’s the music which I love every second of. It’s like the more childish pop-up storybook vibe of the artstyle in audible form. And it has all the coolest battle music

And the story which is really funny to me because of how good it is. Like there are several times throughout my commentary where I jokingly said “This is all still about sweets btw” because I love the absurdity of the devs being able to tell a deep-cutting story about love and connection and individuality and the different, increasingly worse and worse things hatred will do to a person through the lense of sweets. It kinda reminds me of Onegai My Melody and Jewelpet Kira Deco but instead of telling a serious story in a goofy world with goofy lore, the story is just centered around a goofy concept

While there were some writing choices that cheesed me off sometimes, I would recommend that people watch this season overall just for that alone

Overall, 8/10. There are quite a few things I would’ve done better but it doesn’t suck and the endearing vibe and absurdity of the story being as good as it is sells it well enough for me

HUGtto! Precure:

First of all something I love about Hugtto’s characters is that they aren’t anything crazy. Like they’re literally just a buncha guys and gals hanging out having fun doing guy and gal stuff and I love how that makes it feel more real. And how that fits with this season being centered around the future

More specifically though I love Hana & Co and all their dynamics, Harry included. Star Twinkle may be my favorite season in general but they’re my favorite Cures. And their Cure designs are so so so pretty omg

And in the way of Fairies,

Tbh I actually didn’t really like Harry that much at first because he didn’t have anything that really made him stand out to me but him becoming a human for most of the time made me like him a lot more. And made his hamster form moments a lot cuter

And of course I love Hugtan because how could you not

Abd the devs for this season absolutely knocked it out of the park in the villains department holy schnitzel. Criasu Corp as a concept is cool enough but like everyone’s Oshimaidaa summoning animations and the vastly different themes of them all and the way they all represent different struggles in society that may cause someone to give up (Charareet being constant failure, Papple being loneliness and depression, Gelos being crushed under the weight of being a woman in a misogynistic society, Doctor Trauma thinking he’s too old to have a future, Bishin losing a loved one, and Ristol not having anyone to help him through a hard time. And Daigon is just a bitch idk why he did any of that)

I already liked all of them enough when they were villains and on top of that I liked them so much more when they were reformed. I love Purified Charareet and Doctor Traum so much. And the song that plays when they make an appearance has such a nice “Calm after the storm” vibe to it

And then in the way of story I of course enjoyed every second of that too because Oh My God™️. The way all the villains become Oshimaidaas allowed for some really cool scenes and some of my favorites. Papple’s transformation being a metaphor for suicide made her one of my favorite villains, and the way that Gelos’ underlings turn into a fucked up amalgamation was really disturbing but in a cool and interesting way, and I love how Gelos herself did a repeat of that in her transformation

But most of all I of course love how Doctor Trauma’s transformation took place along the course of an ENTIRE ALL STARS MOVIE that’s part of the main story and just casually sitting between Episode 35 & 38. And Hugtto has an actual All Stars movie on top of it

And not to mention the lore with the twist of humanity’s future being of their own making and Criasu Corp having originally been founded to help them and the things they did to the Hariharis in an attempt to help them survive and how Cure Tomorrow AKA Future!Hugtan kept them at bay when they lost their way

And Homare’s crush on Harry was kinda unnecessary but tbf it gave us the Bishin vs Homare beef and that started with a really cool battle at the end of a really cool episode

And of course the music is cool as always. I especially love that song that plays after the final battle where a person’s voice is singing the main theme as the sun rises

Overall, 10/10. Any complaints I had for this season were solved later on in the story and everything outside of them was already cool enough to make up for them anyway

I was originally planning to watch Yes 5 next but since Maho Tsukai II comes out next year and the end of the year is starting to get pretty close, I’m gonna be watching the first Maho Tsukai

All the fairies of Ichigo Mountain surprised Elder Chourou. He entered the KiraPati in his human form, but quickly reverted back to his fairy form after being overwhelmed with all kinds of emotions. The little fairies quickly surrounded him, engulfing him in hugs and handing several small gifts. He couldn't fight back the tears. Chourou loves everyone and treat all the fairies with great care. Seeing everyone expressing their love and respect for him, this day will be forever remembered as one of the best days of his entire life.

" ~jaba!! Thank you everyone! I am feeling very happy right now. I wasn't expecting such a beautiful event. I am very proud of each one of you. Elder Chourou will always be here when you feel sad or troubled. I want everyone to live happy and well. I love you all ~jaba!!"

Pekorin jumped on top of him, prompting all of the fairies to do the same. Even Kirarin followed Pekorin this time. Pikario moved out of the way, but was dragged by a group of small fairies and joined the big pile of fairies in the middle of the room against his will.

Vanessa grew worried when Diabolos used his magic to turn Noir, a German Shepherd who had never known happiness, into a Negative Boss. It turned out that Noir was a Pre Negative Boss, which surprised Sapphire who couldn't believe he hadn't already become a full Negative Boss. Sapphire asked how they were going to proceed and Vanessa showed her a picture of Lumière, a female kangaroo patissière who lived in Ichigozaka, a small town. Vanessa told her that soon Noir would come to this town and she wanted him to meet Lumière. Vanessa hoped that Lumière would be able to lift Noir's spirits and get rid of the evil inside him. Sapphire wondered if that would work but didn’t dare question her mother.

In the year 1920 CE, Noir visited Ichigozaka and met Lumière like Vanessa had hoped. Unfortunately, Vanessa's plan backfired when Noir's anger escalated because Lumière refused to make sweets only for him and as a result unlocked his Negative Boss powers. He stained Ichigozaka in darkness. As they watched Sapphire asked what they would do now. Vanessa said that it seemed like Lumière was the only one who wasn’t affected which meant that she would have to be the one to start the fight with Noir.

Sapphire questioned what she meant by ‘start’. Vanessa didn’t answer as she gave Lumière the ability to turn into a Cure and use an attack. Sapphire again questioned what was going on. Vanessa explained that Lumière wouldn't be enough to defeat Noir, only lock him away. She then told her daughter that in a few years when Noir returned, they would be ready to send the real Cures out but now was not the time.

When Lumière managed to lock him away she started to disappear. Vanessa quickly captures her spirit and creates a shrine to her under Ichigoyama. She then turned the land above into a hidden place for a new kind of Flicky called a Kirakiraru Flicky.

Vanessa explains that these Flickies have the power to see the Kirakiraru in desserts and to make it while also harnessing it. Vanessa created five other groups of these fairies and put them in towns with high levels of Kirakiraru.

Sapphire suggested giving the fairies Mobian forms so they could spread more happiness and Kirakiraru in the world, but Vanessa made it so they had to earn it by undergoing enough training.

Vanessa turned the leader of the Ichigoyama Kirakiraru Flicky, Chourou, into a Cure Flicky (by the time the Cures are activated he is an Ancient Flicky) and gave him the KiraPati in box form to guard.

A few years later, ten Kirakiraru Flickies are born but these Flickies look different. The other fairies tried to be nice to them but soon they were cast out for being unable to harness Kirakiraru. At that time Sapphire was working on making the five Sweets Pacts and Candy Rods and Vanessa was working on perfecting the magic that would create the Animal Sweets so neither saw this nor when Julio turned them into the Kirakiraru Thieves and when they did notice it, it was already too late. When the Kirakiraru Thieves attacked Ichigoyama, Vanessa quickly linked the items to the card.

Kirarin is a Kirakiraru Rabbit Flickie by birth but when she is Ciel Kirahoshi, she is a Horse Mobian. When she is Cure Parfait she is a Peguse.

Even those who have never talked to Himari can tell you one thing about her: she’s shy. It’s her most obvious characteristic. When asked one simple question by someone she doesn’t know well, she’s immediately stuttering and flustered. So outside of her KiraPati group, she doesn’t have any other friends. Or so she thought.

Himari strolled through the market, reading through her notebook. She was given the task of retrieving some ingredients for mochi. Ichika had a flash, so of course, her needs had to be met to be able to make the sweet she wanted.

“Arisugawa!” A familiar voice started her, nearly making her drop the book. Turning around, she saw that it was you. You jogged towards her, waving.

“O-oh, (last name). Hi.” She greeted.

“You doing some shopping?” You asked, catching your breath and pointing to the tote bag she had over her arm.

“Oh, uh, yeah. Just getting some ingredients for Ichika.”

You chuckled. “That Usami’s always making something, huh?”

Himari laughed a little too, easing out of her shyness a bit. “Yeah. She had another one of her ‘flashes’.”

“That definitely sounds like her. But anyway, I came here to ask you something.”

Her nervousness came right back, and she began twiddling her fingers. “Me? W-what is it?”

“There’s this new bakery that opened at the zoo the next town over. I was going to go with another friend tomorrow, but they had to cancel. So I wanted to ask if you would like to go with me?” As you spoke, you pulled out a small leaflet that displayed the place you were talking about.

Himari read the paper, clearly interested. The bakery sold cute foods based off of the zoo animals. It reminded her of the KiraPati.

“Really? You wanna go with me?” She asked, flustered.

“Yeah! Why wouldn’t I? And I know you really like sweets, and know a lot about them. You’re always saying ‘sweets are science’, right?” You gestured to her notebook, which was filled with her baking knowledge.

“Yeah. Okay, I’ll go! Thank you so much, (last name)!” Himari bowed in great appreciation.

“Great! Meet me at the bus stop at 10 tomorrow morning. It’s a bit of a drive, but it’ll be worth it. Bye, Arisugawa!” You left with a wave.

“O-okay! Bye!” She waved back.

She still couldn’t believe what just happened. You really invited her to go someplace fun with you. She never wouldn’t guessed she was even an option to think about. Sure, the two of you talked, but she had no idea you considered her as more than an acquaintance. The more she thought about it, the more excited and nervous she got.

(The Next Morning)

Due to her overwhelming emotions, Himari didn’t sleep much. But she was just fine. She was so excited, it produced enough energy for her to get through the day. She had even made sure to arrive fifteen minutes early, just in case.

Just a few minutes before the bus was due to arrive, you met her at the stop. “Morning, Arisugawa!”

“M-morning!” Himari practically squeaked. She may have prepared herself, but it was still so nerve racking to be going somewhere alone with a new friend.

“Were you waiting long? Sorry if you were!” You apologized.

“Oh, no! It’s okay! I just decided to come early.” She assured you.

“Oh, good.” You sighed.

Not long later, the bus arrived. The two of you got on, taking your seats in the back. It was pretty empty, to which the antisocial Himari was glad about.

You opened up the leaflet you brought, and held it up between the two of you. “So, what are you thinking of getting?” You asked.

“All of it looks so cute, but I really wanna try the giraffe purin.” She pointed to the picture of the sweet.

“So, you like purin?” You asked, curious.

“Yeah! It’s one of my favorites. Did you know that it’s called something else in different parts of the world?” Himari said.

“Oh, really?”

“Yeah. The word ‘purin’ comes from the English word ‘pudding’. But in places outside Japan they call purin ‘custard pudding’, as just regular pudding is something different. Also-“ She suddenly stops, as if realizing something.

“What’s wrong?” You asked.

“Sorry. I guess you don’t want to hear all that…” She blushed, looking down at her lap in embarrassment.

“No, I do! You seem to know a lot about purin, so tell me! I still haven’t decided what to get yet, so maybe you’ll convince me.” You tilted your head down a bit, trying to meet her eyes.

Himari looked back up at you, clearly a bit surprised. A gentle smile formed on her face. “Okay…”

A with that, she continued her tangent. She went on to not only tell you about purin, but every other sweet on the menu as well. It was as if she became some sort of scientist. You knew she was smart when it came to that stuff, but you had no idea just how informed she was.

Her happiness and excitement were so apparent while she talked. You could tell that the science behind sweets was her favorite thing in the whole world. Even as the bus made its occasional stops, picking up more people, she never took breaks until she was done.

Once she had gone through every sweet on the menu, she finished her tangent. She became embarrassed once again, but felt reassured once she noticed your face was clearly not one of annoyance.

“You’re so smart, Himari! You could totally be a ‘sweets scientist’ or something in the future!” You admired.

“You really think I could? Wait, did you just call me by my first name?” She realized.

“Oh, I guess I did. Is that okay?” You asked.

“Y-yeah! I just… wasn’t sure you saw me as that good of a friend yet.”

“Of course I do! You’re so cool!”

Himari blushed at the compliment. “Thanks… (name).” She decided to take the risk, and also call you by your first name. When you gave her a smile, she knew it was okay.

The bus screeched to a stop, and the two to you looked out the window. Neither of you had realized just how much time had passed. You had arrived at the zoo.

“Let’s go!” You said, standing up. “I wanna try that purin!”

“Me too!��� Himari stood as well, and you both exited the bus.

“I was a bit worried that we’d get bored during the drive here. But you turned it into something interesting.” You lightly elbowed her arm.

Himari giggled, getting flustered again. She was worried that you’d find her strange after info dumping to you like that. But it seemed like that only made you think better of her.

Gently grabbing hold of your sleeve, she began leading the way. “C’mon, (name)!”

The two of you dashed through the zoo, eager to try the giraffe purin. You’d later find that the more you know about the science behind sweets, the better they taste. And it’s all thanks to your friend, Himari.
