9S smiles and lets a small sigh of relief out. This human was quite understanding! Not wanting Pod 153 to ruin it again, 9S does what he does best: talk!

"Ahaha, thank you, kind human. I'll never forget your forgiveness. Literally! Because it's data now."

Unless he somehow loses that data. Or all of his data. He doesn't want to think about that, though, so he doesn't! That's for later 9S to worry about someday. After all, how hard could finding several hundred petabytes worth of data storage be?

"My name is 9S, but my friends call me Nines. The rude one is Pod 153. What's your name?"

" Hmmm. "

Eiden's eyebrows rise as he gives an evaluating stare going back and forth between the two. Judging from the words he was looking for something to prolong his ....functions?

Is he a robot or something...?

The other one obviously is. Eiden can tell as much - guess it was just to help the other?

Finally Eiden crosses his arms and takes a deep sigh. When he speaks again there's faint melodic lilt in his voice:

" Hmm-mm! ♪ "

" I see how it is. Can't be helped then! Benevolent as I am I shall forgive thee! "

What caused you to start writing? What was your key point?

reading and writing have always been hobbies of mine, so when i learned i could write as the fictional characters i love? with other people!? i was so down!

i don't remember what keyed me in on it, though? i used to play pretend (it was just LARPing, lbr) on the playground until i was around 11, so maybe it kinda clicked in my mind that writing was the natural next step? no clue.

Do you tell your friends / family that you write?

KINDA... i tell people i write with a community online and create "collaborative stories," but i never refer to it as rp or go in-depth unless i know that person's also done it before / is in similar fandom spaces.

Are you happy with how your favorite canon muse was portrayed in canon?

sure, i don't have any major complaints about his writing! it's consistent and fun to compare how differences in the localization shift the tone of certain character/rship-building scenes, while still managing to keep the spirit of his character intact. my only "issue" is that they could've put more time into expanding his character arc in the third act (but the same can be said for every character... a fumble all around tbh).

Have you ever written a canon muse that you first thought of ‘meh’ when they appeared in their canon show/movie/book?

NOPE! can't do it. if i'm not weird about that fictional character from the start, it's very unlikely i'll ever put the effort into forcing myself to write them. i need that click! that spark!

How do you create an OC? What are your steps for developing an OC?

i haven't developed an oc in yearssss so i'm the last person anyone should be asking. uh... (1) be a preteen, (2) develop an insane normal fictional crush, and (3) make an oc to ship them with. bam.

Who was your first OC?

i made my first in-depth oc when i was a wee 9 year old... she started out as a self-insert sonic oc that i obviously had to ship with sonic and shadow bc, duh. i also forced my cousins to make ocs so we could roleplay together lol.

i had more before that one but they were basically just vague roles i slipped into when playing pretend with my friends.

Is there any fandom you regret exploring?

can i say all of them njgnjg i think every fandom out there has its subset of annoying fans who'll make you reconsider ever interacting with anyone you haven't personally vetted lol, even if briefly. for example -- just bc of its infamy -- i never interact with sonic fans outside my circle; i've seen way too many pointless debates and shitty opinions to risk venturing out there again...

In what fandom did you start?

i am SO glad sonic was the first because the ones after it are infinitely more embarrassing.

What are your favorite ships on here (feel free to tag?)

OOO good question!!! i'll start by saying i've been rooting for break/zhilan since day 1 -- love those goobers!! other than that, i enjoy seeing any ship get together on here, like lloyd/zelos, vash/wolfwood (both iterations), nicolette/wang yi... if you're shipping with someone just now i'm hooting 'n hollering whenever they interact.

Have you ever developed a ship based on writing with a certain other character / mun?

nope, not yet! it's not that i'm against developing ships after noticing chemistry betwen muses -- far from it! -- it's just never gotten to the point where i wrote one.

What’s something you find weird on here?

i can't think of anything in particular, so... tumblr's commitment to making their layout as annoying as unoriginal and bloated as possible.

What people make you happy when you see them on the dash?

1. Who has been your favorite muse to play?

Anyone whose known me for a long time should know that I wrote Wendy Marvell from Fairy Tail for roughly 7-8 years between Isola and the group before. That is my dotter and sometimes I do think about writing her again even if I've outgrown the source material.

4. What are some of your rp pet peeves?

For myself it's that I have a bad habit where my fingers move faster than my brain when I'm typing. Sometimes I'll go to reply to someone and notice that in my reply before I wrote a totally wrong word that doesn't even make sense in the sentence. In a more general sense, it sucks when you feel like you're being ignored in favour of other interactions.

Five is too few! So I'll naturally plug my own in-group ships.

...So his sole hobby listed at this canon point is “Collecting Konvertibilna Marka”, which is a currency from Bosnia and Herzegovina. His reason for this is apparently just so he can make a pun, an act which cost him the equivalent of $50k usd. Which, honestly? I respect the dedication. Collecting foreign coins n stuff is fun also so like I get it its a good hobby.

However as for other hobbies lmao he’s big into parkour. I like to imagine he got into it when he was in university, he joined the club because there was a cute upper year student and decided to stick around because of that. He’s not immune to cute guys. He ended up getting really into it and is like... really good at it now. “Can shoot 2 guys midair after backflipping off a wall for no reason other than he can” good at parkour. his fight scenes are really fun to watch tbh he’s so flashy, I definitely think some part of him really enjoys getting to just show off a lil. its a flex.

[  🔮     ] what is your muse’s relationship with religion and spirituality? were they raised in a certain religion? have they stuck with the same set of spiritual beliefs all their life, or have they changed over time? are they settled in their spirituality now?

I don’t think Ryuki is particularly religious or spiritual, tbh. Agnostic maybe, but he tends towards wanting scientific explanations to disprove any sort of supernatural going-on with regards to the case, and that probably carries over to his personal life too. Considering everything with Naix too, that probably just gave him a bit of additional aversion to the concept.

[   🤷‍♀️     ] how does your muse approach strangers? how does this compare to how they interact with close friends or lovers?

He tries his best to be polite and respectful, especially if the person is older than him. It’s actually really funny bc when he first meets Ota a dialogue with Tama kinda implies that the only reason he’s being polite to him is bc Ota is older than him lmfao. But in general unless someone has given him fair reason to dislike them he’ll be polite, and even if he does dislike them he isn’t usually outwardly stern or hostile unless he feels a justifiable reason to be. Basically, unless he thinks you’re suspicious in regards to a case he’s working on, he’ll probably be pretty amicable lmao.

Now, considering he doesn’t really get that close to many people, that’s more or less his standard operating style. But around the handful of people he is close to, he’s able to be a lot more laid back. He’ll make some jokes, he’ll smile more genuinely and be a little more open about himself, and he’s overall more talkative too. It lets him put a couple of his guards down, which is absolutely something he needs.

Spirale was an... interesting city to say the least. It was as if the ruins 2B and 9S had run through countless times suddenly sprung up with life and light. And noise-- a lot of noise. Humans and nonhumans alike passed by every day, and sometimes 9S was content to sit somewhere and observe life.

He had never gotten to see it before, only reading about cities like these in the Bunker Archives.

Pod 153 stayed by his side, mostly quiet, unless it's readings picked up on something that wasn't the barrage of radio signals zipping around 24/7.

Update: A large, stable, portable source of energy compatible with 9S' black box has been found. Locating. Tracking. Pursuing.

With that the Pod started to zip off, leaving 9S to gasp and chase after it. This certainly wasn't the first time it's happened since arriving, and he had a daunting feeling it wouldn't be the last. Weaving through the crowds, he finally catches up to his Pod circling around a brown-haired human. A robotic female voice comes from the floating companion.

Target located. Energy source seems to be coming from the crystal. Suggestion: acquire crystal.

"Uh, yeah we're not going to do that."

He grabs the Pod's arm and yanks it away, sighing and shaking his head.

"I'm uh, sorry about that, human. Pod 153 doesn't know what manners are."

Negative. Pod 153 is far more polite than Unit 9S. Example: 9S often complains about assign--

9S laughs over it's chattering and pushes the Pod down further, giving a wide, innocent smile to the man.

"Ignore that! Anyway! I'm not taking your energy crystal... thing! Really sorry about that again!"

Agh! Oh no, already this human is distrusting of him! 9S supposes that's only rational, seeing as his Pod came up literally to take something from a stranger. His black box is fine! Sort of! It certainly doesn't need something so precious to someone else. Besides, the crystal didn't look like it would remotely fit in any of his actual components, so it wasn't going to help even if he did try to take it.

"No no, I absolutely understand! I really don't want it, I'm sorry again! Pod 153, apologize."

Request denied. This unit will not apologize for trying to prolong unit 9S' functions.

"Pod 153. Now."

... I apologize.

From the skies carries out a sound. That alone is enough to turns Eiden's head in the middle of bubbletea run but what stops him is what he hears next. Automatically his hand grabs the neon gemstone, squeezing tight as he instinctively backs down.

He's still holding the stone even after he's told it won't be taken from him. Sceptical look is cast at two as he stands there.

" Um. Yeah", he says as he lets it out from his fist, looking down at the light reflecting through.

" This is reaaaaally important to me so I'd def appreciate it ok? "

He gives the robot a pretty suspicious glance.
