Gold is forever! Shooting gold jewelry is a challenge to most of the product photographers. It is not only just reflective and shining, but also has a colour and intricate designs. To get all these right in our images is a challenge. Many times gold will look like brass and too flat. Shooting bangles is something I especially like because it is exciting. Hawa Mahal (‘The Palace of Breeze’) built in 1799 is a palace in Jaipur, Rajasthan,  has 953 windows that cover the lace-like walls to allow royal ladies watch the daily drama in the street below, without being noticed. A breathtaking massive structure right on the main road, the Hawa Mahal is an artistic marvel with beautiful patterns of intricate carvings, windows and colours.   After capturing the routine travel shots (scroll next), I thought of connecting the artistic lace work of an umbrella nearby with the lace like walls of the Hawa mahal. The multicolour umbrella was contrasting with the single colour Hawa Mahal!  As the umbrella was in the shadow area and the mahal in bright light, I did a manual HDR exposure and combined the images in post production for better details. Thanks to the HDR technology.   Bottom line: HDR technique is mandatory for most of the travel shots. The in camera HDR settings available in most of the modern cameras are highly useful in such situations.  Learn to see the world around series  Learn the Art of seeing. Think BIG.. Life in reality has all variation within both the extremes. I saw this man sitting below an ‘image of the king’ painted on a wall of a temple entrance in Udaipur, Rajasthan. I just shot this image without any reason, except for the contrast in the subjects. It was the only shot I got, for, the man in the picture didn’t allow me to shoot after this. Sometimes, the under-priviledged persons feel offended when someone tries to take a picture of them! Better respect their feelings and move away saying ‘Sorry’. Bottom line: Holding a camera doesn't give us the right to photograph anyone we like. When people object, we should respect and refrain from shooting.
