I was about to say nothing has affected me quite this way, but then I remembered that I thought about two lines from @knightedrogue’s Clay and Pearl series approximately monthly for like a year after I read the chapter that contained them and then I would get all teary-eyed thinking about the greater story, so. Probably that.

(I thought about quoting said lines here, but divorced from the greater context, my reaction makes no sense. And I don’t want to spoil the weight that they carry for anyone interested in reading by waving them around without said context, so.)

I'm curious about everyone's "this fic hit me in the id so hard it changed my brain chemistry" fic. Whether it made you cry so hard it gave you a headache or scratched an itch so hard it gave you a new kink or made you laugh so hard you thought you were going to throw up, reblog and tell me the fic that rewired your brain!

fave hanleia scenes?

Ooh, I’m not sure if you mean in canon or fic, but I’ll give you both.

Canon:

The dang Bespin forehead kiss gets me every time, but I also like the little bit of interaction they have in ROTJ when they’re being told about the new Death Star. Everything feels really lived-in in that scene and I love that sort of stuff.

Fic:

There are a couple of scenes I really like in greyathena’s a journey of a thousand miles — specifically a scene on the way to Bespin in a gun turret and the post-Jabba skiff scene.

KnightedRogue’s Clay and Pearl series has some lovely ones, too. The scene with Han and Leia’s first kiss in that series is great, and the carbonite freezing scene in the second story in the series stuck with me for weeks after I read it.

Party is a bit of a stretch. No, we were all set to try to hit up a park (despite google saying they all had ten thousand more people than usual at them because eclipse) and then one person was like, “We should go to Chuck E Cheese.” 

And because it’s 2017, somehow everyone agreed that this was the thing to do and we ended up at Chuck E Cheese. Where I proceeded to have a fabulous time playing skee-ball (that was called something else), guitar hero, some weird snowmobile racing game, a Jurassic Park dinosaur rescue game where you shoot the dinos with “tranquilizer dart guns” that sound exactly like regular guns. 

Also, we critiqued the acting of the staff member who played Chuck E Cheese for the party. 

So yeah. that was a thing.
