i am halfway through season 7 of ER and need to get something off my chest

I don't like Luka/Abby. It feels like a shoehorned attempt at replacing Doug/Carol (OTP OTP OTP OTP OTP i hated the way they wrote of Doug bc there was no world in which he and Carol wouldn't have followed each other to the end's of the earth by that point) and I don't really see the chemistry. Luka's, like, projecting feelings about his dead wife onto Abby and Abby isn't communicating what she wants. It doesn't help that Carter listens to Abby where Luka exclusively stares. The look is important to a good TV couple, but the character needs to listen too. It's also very difficult to care about their melodrama when they don't have the build up/history Doug and Carol did, even pre-pilot.

ER, All in the family

Back to watching ER. I had to take a break. As shocking as the previous episode was, as tragic is this one. I’m not a cryer, really, but this is one that makes it impossible not to.

I guess one thing is the overshadowing guilt with many of them, Mark who left early, Kovac who was in charge, knowing that the party made them not noticing that Carter and Lucy were missing. And Kerry’s anger, of course, the one without blame but who takes it on all the same, and her infinite sorrow.

A very well-made episode, showing all the phenomenal yet desperate work to save lives, and handling the deep emotions as ER always do, with very little words, but letting the bodies and the faces do all the talking. I guess that is another reason why I cry, because no-one does in the show. I cry for them, as they are holding everything within for now.
