UMMMMM the fact that Kyle Secor has started posting his own fanfic about Bayliss post-movie and he wrote Meldrick picking Tim up from prison and taking him to Mike's place is making me full on cry

So I've been planning a while to do a Tim Bayliss/Kyle Secor appreciation post. I got two full pages written when I realized one post just isn't going to be enough. Sooooo...it might be a three parter. We'll see. I am working on it.
I just...for some reason, the Emma Zoole fling in season three keeps coming back to me...and the moment where Emma basically asks TIM out, I guess she feels he's not going to do it.
And she says "Are you free tonight" or something like that, and he tells her yes...and then sort of under his breath, he says "MOST of my evenings are free".
The sound of his voice. The look on his face. It reminds me of this moment: I am not okay.
Tumblr media
In between Sad Tim Bayliss, sad Mobius and Loki...and now rewatching Person of Interest with sad Reese and sad Finch...I am freaking sadded out right now. It's a sad-a-palooza.
Sweet babies...all of them.

I do wish they'd talked more about the actual episode. Did Kyle spill the coffee on purpose because that's what Bayliss would have done, awkward baby moose that he was, or was that Kyle being genuinely flustered pretending to flirt with the pretty guest actor? (I take it he and Clark Johnson were both single at this time.)
But it's still a great podcast episode. It has:
- Kyle's daughter Emory
- Ned Beatty being absolutely unhinged
- Daniel Baldwin maybe purchasing cocaine, perhaps from the Baltimore PD?
- Writers disrespected
- Reed cannot pronounce words (probably in that way that means he's read them many times but not said them out loud)
- Lord Byron referenced; Kyle is such a dorky theater kid
Never mentioned: Santa Claus. This is a summer episode that features an attempted murderer in a Santa costume; no one brings it up.
P.S. of course I understood the Jim Irsay reference. I live in Indianapolis.

I recently started rewatching "Homicide: Life on the Street" on Peacock. It was really the first TV drama that I ever watched. I think I started watching it in its fourth season, when I was in eighth grade.
I haven't really seen it two decades or so (it didn't stream for a long time because of music rights issues) and I was wondering how it would hold up. Three decades have passed since it premiered. Half of the first season cast is now dead.
And it's still one of the best damn things I've ever seen. The fifth episode, "Three Men and Adena", is honestly still the best dramatic acting I've seen on TV courtesy of Andre Braugher, Kyle Secor, and Moses Gunn.
So there's a good chance this might be a thing I start mentioning in my blog occasionally. If you've never seen it (and there's a good chance you haven't, since most of my mutuals were born in 2002...) and you want to get into a kickass 122 episode-long cop drama from the 1990s, well here you go...

Homicide Story: Andre
Today, there is a memorial for Andre at Julliard in NYC. A celebration of his life and talent and a chance for family, friends, and colleagues to be together. So, my thoughts drift into memory. They drift to Baltimore and to the many moments swirling around in the old memory hat. From all the hours we spent between shots in the Cavaliers, all the very philosophical and religious discussions we had late into the evenings - I wish I had recorded them all - to our impromptu rap performances on set, playing chess, the crossword puzzles, lunches, dinners, and coffees. From his breaking down the stock market, giving me investing tips (which I never took), and the trips by train we shared to New York and back. From all the many scenes we did, the good work we put into getting to those places where we could fly - and to all the freaking laughter. God, he was a fun person to be with. Kind, and supportive of his fellow actors. He was tolerant of a newbie recovering addict, and we spent quite a few hours talking about sobriety and how to stay sober. It occurs to me that since his passing, I’ve been trying to fill in the gaps which I’ve forgotten. Stories come to me from all over, kicking off feelings which are the paints for this memory portrait I’ve been painting. -Kyle Secor
