If this au has zero fans, I have died

Note
Hey so I was watching your left 2 chill au videos and my brain sparked some creativity to make an au like this but I'm asking you permission since it kinda connects to your au and I don't want to make you uncomfortable or upset
But basically when the infection started squip got disconnected from Jeremy and lost him so basically he's on a mission to find Jeremy but along the way he meets others squips and slowly forms personal connections with them but the worst part is that in some occasions when squips were still connected with an infected zombies they kinda turn into digital zombies so they have to deal with that so that means angst
So. There's a little quirk to Left 2 Chill that isn't really obvious from the videos and art I've posted. And that is that.. squips aren't in the story. No computers in brains. None of that. Squipcident never happened.
Which more or less means that if you wanted to make a zombie au with this squip plot, it could basically be its own thing UNLESS you were to ALSO base it off of the Left 4 Dead games as I did, with all the Special Infected and whatnot.
So I kind of have two answers. If this is just any old zombie apocalypse au with your squippy twist, I say there's no harm since hey, I didn't invent zombie aus. I didn't even invent the first bmc zombie au.
Buuut I did invent the L4D/BMC/DEH zombie au. So if you were to use the Left 4 Dead Infection/storyline specific to L2C, of which you can read on ao3, then at least some credit/specification of inspiration would be appreciated.
Now I say that squips aren't a thing in this au, and that's still true as there are no supercomputers. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't add a reference to the squips in the form of their actors' names
⚠️(under the cut for spoilers)⚠️

Postdoc: Montpellier.SignalEvolution
POST-DOCTORAL POSITION IN MONTPELLIER (FRANCE) Project title: Efficient coding and processing and its consequences on signal evolution Research areas: Neuroscience, Computer Vision & Evolutionary Biology We are looking for a post-doctoral researcher to work on the role of efficient neural coding and processing in the evolution of communication signals. The visual system has many adaptations to efficiently code and process environmental visual stimuli, but it is unclear how these adaptations in turn contribute to shape the design of communication signals. In this highly promising project, which lies at the interface between neuroscience, computer vision, evolutionary biology and the humanities, we will use various approaches for modelling efficient coding and processing (e.g., sparse coding, efficient categorization, predictive coding and other models of visual attention) to analyse whether and how these adaptations can explain both visual preference biases in Humans and some of the universal properties that characterise sexual signals as well as artworks. The post-doctoral researcher will also be able to extend her/his findings to non-human animals by contributing to a NSF-funded project on the role of efficient coding in the evolution of male colouration in fishes conducted at the University of Maryland. This project offers an opportunity to a young researcher to develop a unique and promising research area having ground-breaking consequences for evolutionary biology -by exploring the predictive power of the models of sensory bias in signal evolution; for the humanities -by offering a functional model to the fluency theory of aesthetics; and for vision sciences - by understanding how environmental stimuli shape vision. Skills needed - The candidate should have a PhD in vision neuroscience with strong skills in computing, or in computer vision with a strong interest in biological models of vision. A good knowledge in modelling visual attention (e.g., saliency maps), in Bayesian modelling, in sparse coding and in cognitive models of vision (e.g., HMAX) would be appreciated. The candidate should also have an interest in evolutionary biology, especially sexual selection, and ideally for experimental aesthetics. Eligibility - Following the LabExs requirements, the candidate shall not have carried out her/his thesis in one of the three LabExes Agro, CeMEB and NUMEV. The candidate must have obtained her/his PhD in a 6-year period preceding her/his application, and should not have spent more than a year of post-doc in France over the past 3 years. Administrative information Source of funding - The three Laboratories of Excellence (LabEx) Agro-CeMEB and NUMEV Location - Laboratory Charles Coulomb (L2C - UMR5221) and Centre of Evolutionary and Functional Ecology (CEFE - UMR5175), both in Montpellier, France. Duration - 18 months, starting from summer 2017 Application deadline - June 15th, 2017 Contacts Julien P. Renoult - CNRS researcher in evolutionary biology at the Centre of Evolutionary and Functional Ecology of Montpellier. Parc des Saphirs Skating Rink in Boischatel

Parc des Saphirs Skating Rink
Design: ABCP Architecture
Location: Boischatel, Quebec, Canada
The Parc des Saphirs project turned part of a wooded area beside the Royal Québec golf course into a city park. The resulting sports, fitness and family linear park now occupies a former Hydro-Québec easement. It will eventually include a ropes fitness course, strength-training stations, skating tracks, volleyball courts, and a BMX pump track. The main park facilities are an outdoor covered skating rink and service building.
The assignment was to provide a sheltered winter-and-summer space. It has a large roofed-over surface that serves as a skating rink in winter and can be used for dek hockey or basketball in summer.
Putting a structure that size into a natural setting required a great deal of attention by the designers to would fit everything in. The building is set perpendicular to Rue des Saphirs on the edge of the woods. It has a 48-space parking lot for park users with decorative plants. The open end of the rink faces the street to make it more inviting for the public. The few rooms required are at the other end, closing off the playing surface to the northwest to provide shelter from the prevailing winter winds.
What makes the project unique however is the big roof with its wood‑and‑steel hybrid frame.
Architectural and structural concept The designers wanted the structure to be made of wood as much as possible while creating a sense of lightness. They worked through and assessed many variations, refining the concept to find the best design for the setting. The versatility required from the building led the team to develop a structure able to accommodate both winter and summer sports, while also getting as much out of the service building as possible. The result ended up being the hybrid solution for the covered rink.
The architectural concept is based on the large wood–steel hybrid frame. The glulam structure with its steel tensioning system supports a 28-meter clear span despite being relatively thin. Its geometry also allows for the roof to drain on either side away from the building, facilitating rainwater management. The great wooden shade sail is supported by a steel colonnade of Vs on either side of the playing surface. The steel support system is designed to integrate the wind bracing for the whole roof without the addition of other elements that would interfere with how the structure is read.
The northeast section of the roof also covers the service building where people enter. This free-standing section, the enclosed part of the facility, contains dressing rooms and a multipurpose common room. It also has a garage for rink maintenance equipment as well as an equipment rental counter. The service building is entirely supported by a light wood frame and the cladding is spruce to strengthen its relationship with the main roof.
Innovative solutions The biggest innovation in the project is its strategic use of wood. The service building features a light structural frame that works very well for these kinds of spans and should be within many contractors budgets. The skating rink cover makes the greatest possible use of glulam with the addition of steel to increase its span while keeping the budget under control. This also lightens everything visually.
The unexpected shape of the roof is a breakthrough in itself. The main variable-inertia trusses are sized to optimize the volume of the wood at every point. Each truss is made up of two identical pieces of wood connected together in such a way as to hide the joints between trusses, tie beams, and columns. One assembly that required dozens of connectors was hidden in a joint between the trusses and columns. The columns are set in Vs and supported halfway between two trusses. Their support point is offset in all directions, which creates a surprising balance.

5. What's your least favorite thing to draw?
I have a love hare relationship with backgrounds. They usually look great when I do them but perspective is a bitch sometimes
19. What is the most difficult thing for you to draw?
..backgrounds lol
29. For traditional artists: how do you usually start on a big piece? (Light sketch, colored lead, sketching paper, etc.)
For things like the L2C posters I do the basic ass guidelines sketch in pencil and continue to refine it until the line art stage. For the anniversary piece I started with a red colored pencil instead to make Jeremy look even MORE like he's covered in blood
5 19 29 for the artists asks :)
5. How many wips do you have? What fandoms/pairings are they for?
I guess that depends on what counts as a wip dkxbskdb things that I've called wips before have kinda just been incoherent thoughts slapped in my notes app sooo I think I'll go with the things are either currently in progress on ao3 (provided it hasnt been abandoned) or have the highest chance of actually becoming something. In which case that would be.. four? L2C's prologue, Store Playlist, Tales From the Lagniappe, and the merms au on my ask blog that I SWEAR I'll get to again at SOME POINT. (Not a wip in the traditional sense but.. ya know)
The only ones that have central shipping themes would be Store Playlist and the merms au, both of which are boyfs stories. L2C and TFTL technically have ships in them but but the bigger focus is the human condition persisting through the apocalypse
19. Do you enjoy creating OCs or do you prefer to stick solely to canon characters?
The closest I've gotten to putting an oc in something would be writing the girl at Sev-Elev as an actual character and talking about rich's older brother. Besides that I did create a couple of Plot Device ocs for a freshman year fic that hasn't been continued but still lives in my head as Freshman Year Headcanons
29. What's something about your writing that you're proud of?
Being as close as I am to finishing L2C tbh. The other long fic I have on ao3 got soft abandoned after all my progress on the last couple chapters got erased, and ditto for the one that was GOING to be a long fic. So the fact that I basically just need to tie up a couple loose ends and post the epilogue for L2C to be done??? Like,, holy shit that's big for me.
