jaster mereel had to die young because the moment he ever had to meet palpatine on his home turf he'd take one look at the politician's eclectic collection and immediately go 'oh !! Is that a ceremonial sacrificial dagger of darth rabies???" and immediately go off on a tangent about old republic lore while palpatine gets bodied by at least five jedi in the background
#star wars#chaotic oc hours#jaster mereel#i love fandoms interpretion of him being such a history nut#whats a jedi to a sith? whats a sith to a mandalorian nerd?#i might.be in writers block hell but i can still slowly rotate characters like a rotisserie chicken#i think jaster would know a lot about sith and start rambling but as soon as he makes eye contact with a jedi hes 'sith bad very bad no like#jaster daydreaming about the good ol days (sith and jedi in armor being cool badasses)#hed prob kidnap a sentinel just because they wear armor#he wants to interrogate- i mean investigate very scientifically and methodically about the jedi armor crafting styles#do you think mandos dont quite understand the diffeeence between sith and jedi in this day and age?#space wizard with laserswords all look the same when youre flying by on a jetpack#ok i need sleep

Finally did the 6 character meme for Katie ^_^ She's my scum and villainy PC.
She's an escaped subject from the Agony (Cult where they fuse themself with void/Way creatures) who was originally the key to activate a living planet that will eat other planets (Omega)
Anyways she finally got a laser sword and she thinks she's so cool.
#oc#original character#ttrpg community#ttrpg#scum and villainy#K82-11#currently im redesigning her to better fit the idea that she was from the agony and so she doesn't look like a xeno but#she's fun to play#she's a mystic and now she has a LaserSword which is badass asf

in the grand tradition of procedural cop shows, quinlan vos joins the coruscant guard as a psychic detective in the shawn spencer mold
thorn: commander fox, sir, that's a jedi
quinlan: *presses his fingers to his temples* psychic
thorn: sir. please. he has a lightsaber. it's right there on his belt.
fox: *not looking up from his datapad where he's signing off another successful arrest* he says it's a lasersword
quinlan: i've heard it both ways
thorn: i hate it here.
(quinlan doesn't have a burton guster, but he does have an endless procession of youngling 'partners' that he steals from the creche, all of whom he insists are called gus)

This reminded me of a silly headcanon for an AU of mine where Kanan is playing Sabacc with a group of clones and some nat-borns. And he keeps winning. Not all the time, but a decent majority.
He can't see what's on his cards, but he can pick up on how everybody else feels about theirs.
On a more broadly applicable note, Jedi vs Jedi Sabacc tournaments are absolutely a thing. Your face and your mind and your emotions must all be a perfect mask or Mace Windu will wipe the floor with you. (Anaking would know; he's very good against normal people, but awful when playing against other Force-sensitives.)
Yoda loves to waltz into some seedy bar, pretend he can't see crap, and doesn't even know how to play Sabaac. Won't you nice gentlemen show an old man how to play?
He walks away with very heavy pockets.
Jedi as serial scammers though. Every mission includes a sidequest to sabacc table for extra cash. Padawans on their first outing be like ‘but I thought the senate was funding this mission’ yes little one but they will ride our arses for every cent so let’s go fleece some rich asshole. He won’t even notice. You know how cops were invented to protect private property? Well jedi are here to protect your everything except your private property. *force tricks an atm into printing free money* that, my very young padawan, is something we call a victimless crime.

Does anyone remember that episode in Buffy the vampire slayer where everyone was turned into their halloween costume?
To celebrate not having an ongoing crisis, Clary convinces (coerces/blackmails) everyone to have a mundane halloween party. Costumes and the whole shebang. Of course that is the night where some kind of curse/spell/artefact gets loose and everyone is turned into their costume. (example: Let's say Izzy dressed as a princess - for reasons - , then she would suddenly be all dainty and unable to fight and scream whenever she got scared)
Imagine Simon going as Luke skywalker, wondering what the dark lord must have done to his lasersword that it didn’t function properly, and trying to use the force all the time.
Jace going as Hercules, and wondering if Hades did something to make his muscles so puny.
Magnus thinking he is a fierce dragon and wordlessly stuffing the good silver into his and Alec's pockets.
Alec as Robin Hood, who is all for the stealing of the valuables, he just hopes that he can convince the "dragon" to share it with the poor folk when they get out of this weird castle. And convince him to join his merry band of thieves. And like, romance him and stuff.
#magnus bane#alec lightwood#malec#shadowhunters tv#crack#malec prompt#everyone is turned into their halloween costume#hilarity ensues

Ahsoka Ep 6 thoughts
• Huyang with his "galaxy far far away" was very cute. I bet David Tennant was all geeky about it when recording it.
• I was mildly disappointed at the lack of Ahsoka in this ep only because I wanted to see if/how she had a personality shift after her time hanging out with Anakin.
• Yup, that sure is Thrawn.
• Yup, that sure is Ezra.
• Creepy cult stormtroopers are very creepy. Seriously they're probably the most unsettling stormtroopers I've ever seen.
• Baylan is starting to worry me. All that talk of breaking the cycle sounded...ominous.
• I'm feeling like Shin might go Jedi by the end. She seemed very interested in Sabine Magic Lasersword Catholic School.

When I met my significant other, I stood in front of the very difficult task to explain my love for Star Wars.
Why do I love people fighting with laser swords and big space ships? Well...
Where do I even start with this?!🥲
I had to remember how I fell in love with Star Wars, because the easiest way to make someone understand your obsession with something, is to tell the story how your obsession begun.
In my previous post I already told you how that happened, but that doesn't necessarily mean that someone else will feel what I did.
So I still had some explaining to do. The most important misinterpretion to correct, was the thesis that Star Wars is just all about Spaceships and fighting with laserswords.
If you ever found yourself wondering how to explain your obsession to someone completely out of the fandom sector, take these five advices to heart.
1. Don't try to explain everything at once. Start with one trilogy and don't get too much into detail. To understand your obsession, it's gonna take some time. Patience Padawan.
2. If they don't get it, that's fine. It works for you, doesn't for them. Eventually they will warm up to it.
3. Try to find something to compare. Maybe they have something they like just as much. Try to find a common ground.
4. Give them the chance to get to know the Fandom for themselves. We don't need to explain everything. The movies often speak for themselves.
5. Just have fun, your partner doesn't inherently needs to understand your obsession, they just need to accept it.

Star Wars Ahsoka: "Time to Fly" - Review

Ahsoka and Sabine begin their mission and the series starts to find its footing in an improved, if not great, third chapter.
As Hera Syndulla reaches out to New Republic leadership for help, Ahsoka and Sabine set out for the mysterious world of Seatos. However, they find much more than they expected upon arrival.
Finally, things are starting to come into shape. "Time to Fly" doesn't exactly solve the many issues that plagued Ahsoka's two part premiere, but it takes some decent strides towards getting back on course. Despite it's remarkably short runtime, Dave Filoni manages to accomplish a decent amount in "Time to Fly" delivering some much needed exposition and character study and an entertainingly unique action sequence.
While it may be a strange thing to be thankful for, I'm very glad that such a large portion of this chapter is spent simply letting Ahsoka, Sabine, and Huyang interact with one another. Sure, Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka is still too detached and mysterious to make much of, but we are finally starting to understand the ins and outs of her mentoring of Sabine Wren. Unlike the premiere where both women were defined mostly by quiet frustration, we begin to see a more fruitful, fluid, and dynamic relationship between both characters here. Ahsoka wonders aloud if she's a quitter and too eager to abandon her callings. Sabine struggles to live up to the steep expectations that come with being a Jedi. We are still missing the origins of this dynamic and Ahsoka's rationale for wanting to change a non-Force Sensitive in the Jedi arts to begin with, but "Time to Fly" at least lets us understand a bit more why this is a dynamic worth following. And even if Dawson's performance is still failing to land, Bordizzo seems to be settling into Sabine while creating her own spin on the character.
There's also some welcome clarification on the state of the larger galaxy in "Time to Fly" as Hera Syndulla approaches members of the New Republic with concerns about Grand Admiral Thrawn's return. Intentionally or not, Ahsoka seems to put the audience in the position of the skeptic here. While Hera is one of the show's heroines and a beloved character to franchise fans, viewers who are new to all of this have no context as to why they should care about Thrawn's return or about Hera's desire to rescue Ezra Bridger. We may understand that Hera wants this, but viewers haven't exactly been given reason to stand by her side during her debate with Mon Mothma and Kazuda Xiono's asshole dad. It's a bizarre moment of narrative dissonance and if intentional, could be an interesting move in the long run. I'm not inclined to give that level of credit, but it still makes for an interesting sequence
Also Jacen is here. He still has green hair. He looks a little less like a horrific mash up of a Rugrats character and a head of broccoli.
The highlight of "Time to Fly" is undoubtedly the extended dogfight that takes place above and in the skies of Seatos. The initial reveal of an ornate and massive hyperspace ring is a fun spin on Star Wars' forever fascination with big secret space objects and I like that for a change it isn't a superweapon. And the dogfight that follows is fun Star Wars spectacle. It may be lacking in any form of true narrative tension, but the execution by director Steph Green and the production team is pretty damn fun. I mean, Ahsoka gets in a space suit and slices at any enemy ships in zero gravity. It's the kind of Star Wars set piece that many fans have dreamed about for years and the results are filled with all of the whirring laserswords and sliced up starfighters that you'd hope for.
And then, "Time to Fly" just kind of stops. Given the episode's short runtime it doesn't really make sense why Dave Filoni didn't write more of a coherent third act to this chapter. It speaks to the clunky serialization of Mandoverse shows that want to be episodic without the actual storytelling chops to do so.
All in all, "Time to Fly" feels remarkably more competent than its predecessors. Sure, this is faint praise, but I do want to see this show succeed. There's some genuine joy and creativity bubbling beneath the surface in Ahsoka and I want to see it break free. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come.
Score: B

Sonic is the prequel to Mega-Man. (Shadow *is*Metal Sonic)
It's in the eye silhouettes.
Consider this; Sonic is often featured in a human world, where there are very few creatures like himself and his companions. Stranger; the closest thing to himself is a race of Echidnas. Not hedgehogs, not Foxes, Echidnas.
But before that; Egg-botnik is seemingly obsessed with the hedgehog? Why is that? I posit that it's because Dr. Robotnik is actually the hedgehog's creator. And because of freewill, Sonic has decided to go against his creator and free as many of his creations as possible.
While also simultaneously taking care of a strange lifeform known as Chao. Which have the ability to evolve into the titual hedgehog, or other creatures dependent on what they're fed, or if they're dropped on their heads while being taken care of.
In Shadow the Hedgehog, two things are revealed; one is that Shadow is a robot. Like Sonic 2's enemy; Metal Sonic. Who is assumed to be Robotniks attempt to clone and defeat Sonic, but what if... Is just Robotnik showing Sonic that he's the same sort of machine. Just with a fleece exterior.
This would also explain why Sonic, Metal Sonic, and Shadow can all utilize Chaos Emeralds *and* metal rings as a power source. (And why they can use techno-magical barriers)
Shadow the Hedgehog also reveals something else; the necessity for super-human hedgehogs to use weapons outside of their typical form.
Shadow basically becoming Zero, using both lasersword and blaster weaponry. If this is the case; it's possible that Sonic is *indeed* the faker.
Exactly like how the legendary "Blue Bomber" is the sequel to Zero(proto-mang).
