because i'm predictable, what're bobby and chloe up to in the villain au? or how's the dynamic between sam and dogen since he's taken psychoisolation to the extreme?
Bobby's in a pretty similar position to the regular timeline - at least, at first glance. he's overworked and underpaid, constantly crunching to try and keep on top of the ever-growing mountain of paperwork his superiors keep handing down to him.
Tumblr media
but i think the trajectory of his character looks pretty different? he never really met Raz at Whispering Rock. he never got humbled by him, never had to suffer the embarrassment of his spot as top dog being yanked away by some new kid... but he also never really got to go through a lot of the character growth from their ensuing rivalry? he's definitely mellower than he was as a kid, but he's got a lot of unresolved issues bubbling under the surface - anger problems, poor self-esteem, a tendency to lash out at authority figures...
he still really believes in the work he's doing, and wants the Psychonauts to be the force for good he knows they can be. but he's carrying a growing burden of stress and exhaustion, stuck in a toxic work environment that's more likely to change him (or just make him snap) than he is to change it.
Tumblr media
his only real friend at the Motherlobe is Chloe. Chloe is... well! again, first-glance, not that much has changed. she works the same job in the Motherlobe's engineering and aerospace department, and she still gets to pursue her childhood fascination with space.
but the harsher work culture and the more pragmatic, efficient environment have exacerbated some of her less personable traits. she's blunt, rude, and almost fanatically devoted to her work, to the exception of basically everything else. her workplace safety standards are lax, and her ethics laxer. she'd sell the Psychonauts out for one corn chip if she thought it'd get her better funding for her pet projects

Jade - J For Jade
Tumblr media
Jade grinned down at the prefect. She squinted up at him, her tiny nose wrinkled. A corner of her mouth slightly twitched upwards in a snarl. “What are you doing?”
“What’s the matter, Shrimpy?” Jade carefully slurred his words in the right places. He pitched his voice higher too while leaning over the little freshman. The wrinkles on her nose deepened. “Ya gonna square up with me? I’d like to see you try~.”
Yuu’s expression immediately flattened. She shifted her stance, blocking him from the section of the alchemy workshop he so desperately needed to enter. “Seriously? Are you that desperate?”
Jade cocked his head and widened his eyes. It was easy for him to mimic the predatory gaze Floyd so frequently gave those he disliked. “You really tryin’ to start somethin’ with me, Shrimpy?”
“Cut it out already,” Yuu snapped. She rubbed the tops of her arms. “You trying to act like Floyd is creepier than your usual self.”
Jade could have kept up the act a little longer. It was a bit amusing to watch the prefect shuffle around like an agitated shrimp. Alas, he clearly wasn’t getting anywhere, so why prolong the inevitable? “I see now why Azul recruited you for such a daring position. You are a most formidable foe indeed.”
The blank stare she gave him was absolutely delightful. “Are you talking about Azul trying to blackmail me to keep you away from the radioactive mushrooms you’ve been hiding in here?”
Jade’s grin widened. “They’re not radioactive. They actually—.”
“I really don’t care, Jade.”
“But it’s quite fascinating—.”
“You have a problem, Jade.”
Jade hummed. His smile dropped a fraction, and he rubbed the bottom of his chin. “You truly can tell the difference between me and my brother? I’m curious. How were you able to tell? I even took extra care in styling my hair, so the darker highlight didn’t look like a J.”
One eyebrow quirked above the other. “You think your hair is the only way anyone can tell you two apart?”
“Even Azul has said on occasion he would have mistaken us had he not seen our hair.”
Yuu snorted. “Your hair is the last thing I look at nowadays.”
“Then how were you able to tell?” Jade heard the bit of agitation he inadvertently allowed to slip in his tone. “When we decide to impersonate each other, no one is ever able to tell the difference.”
“That’s hard to believe.” Yuu absently waved at him. “You and Floyd are practically the complete opposite of each other. You’re always composed while he doesn’t care to let everyone know how he feels. It translates into how you two carry yourself. You looked stiff even when you were acting all relaxed like Floyd usually is.”
Jade’s eyes widened. “Truly? I thought I did well conveying Floyd’s usual slouch and extended stride.”
Yuu shrugged. “To be honest, it kinda looked like you were about to fall over.”
“Fascinating,” Jade hummed. He slowly inched himself around Yuu. “It would appear I need to practice my performance. I suppose I have become laxer since we enrolled in Night Raven College. I will make sure to—.”
“Where do you think you’re going?” Yuu asked. She took a pointed step to the side, effectively blocking him. “You’re not allowed to touch those mushrooms.”
“But I merely need to—.”
“Azul said you can’t play with them again until you purge the ones you’re hiding in the dorm.” Yuu thumped herself in the chest with her palm. “He threatened to burn down my dorm when he realized you were growing a whole colony in my basement!”
“A mere oversight on my part.”
“Go clean up your obsessive hobby, Jade.”
“I’m feeling quite attacked now. Perhaps I should report my mental and physical wellbeing to a staff member.”
“Professor Crewel only offers counseling sessions for new students on Tuesdays.” Yuu pointed to the door. “At least go act like you’re purging your mushrooms so Azul will get off my back.”
With a long sigh, Jade turned on his heel. He thought to pretend he was leaving before backtracking, but a quick glance behind him told Yuu wouldn’t budge from the alchemy workshop until she was completely reassured by his absence. With another long sigh, he slipped out the door.
“By the way, the next time you want to pretend to be your twin, at least ask him where he is. Floyd literally ran past here five minutes ago chasing Ace for something he did in Basketball Club today. I’m still getting messages begging me to come distract Floyd.”
Jade lightly chuckled behind the tips of his fingers, deciding he would give Yuu five minutes before trying the workshop again through one of the back windows.

I know you not watch Deadpool 3 and I am not too but see a few clips and enough to understand the plot self. But even Deadpool like mostly comedy and I meant actually comedy unlike Thor 4. And well it's very violent and doing many nostalgic as baiting.
Now here's the irony, Deadpool is look more fit comedy and multiverse shit than thor 4 and loki series, I know pool is comedic character but come on even flaws pool is make sense multiverse scenario than loki series and oh pool actually getting respect and good story in his own film rather loki and Thor.
Seriously, pool is comedic character that sometimes you can't take him serious yet when pool have inner problem they let him to solve that, and loki and Thor? No, they make their trauma as joke and seeing their trauma as 'not real' and more sad it's still there never get solve.
Really? They take serious pool but not the rest?
Two things, Because Deadpool is a comedy it's easier to except laxer rules within the story. Second, because Deadpool started of as a comedic character the moments where it takes it time and be sincere it comes off like a moment of depth rather than taking originally more serious characters reducing them to jokes and then trying have series moment while ruining any sincerity with consent jokes.
Deadpool knows what it is and knows what the tone should be.
It's like with Gunn he knew when to be fun and silly, but he also knew when to be quit and let a moment happen. Something Waititi did not

How CBAM Could Reshape the Global Supply Chain: Understanding CBAM Regulations
Recognizing CBAM Regulations and How They Could Change the Global Supply Chain
One of the most discussed initiatives in the battle against climate change is the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). Carbon leakage is a serious problem that the European Union (EU) developed CBAM legislation to solve. This occurs when companies move their operations to nations with laxer environmental regulations, which raises carbon emissions worldwide. However, what are the specific ways CBAM regulations operate and how might they alter the global supply chain?
Comprehending CBAM and Its Rules
Fundamentally, the goal of CBAM is to set a carbon price for specific EU imports according to their carbon content. The goal is to discourage foreign businesses from circumventing emissions standards while levelling the playing field for EU manufacturers, who must adhere to stringent environmental regulations. Companies who export to the EU are required by CBAM legislation to disclose the carbon emissions associated with their goods and may be subject to taxation if their carbon footprint is over a specific threshold.
Cement, steel, and aluminium are among the industries specifically targeted by the CBAM laws due to their higher carbon intensity. To ensure conformity with EU environmental requirements, importers will need to provide certificates attesting to the carbon content of their products. This implies that for businesses in these sectors worldwide to continue to have access to the EU market, they will need to implement more sustainable practices.
Effects on the World's Supply Chain
Global supply chains are about to undergo substantial changes as a result of the adoption of CBAM. For starters, it will raise the demand for carbon reporting that is more transparent. Manufacturers and logistics companies alike must make sure their activities adhere to the carbon limits established by CBAM laws. This can lead businesses to reconsider their procurement plans and look for vendors who have fewer carbon footprints.
To be competitive in the EU market, companies may also need to make investments in greener technologies and more environmentally friendly procedures. For instance, unless they make investments in more environmentally friendly production techniques, steel producers in nations with high carbon emissions, such as China or India, may have to pay more for exports to the EU. Global manufacturing techniques may gradually change as a result of businesses attempting to conform to EU regulations.
The More Comprehensive View
Although some may view CBAM as a trade barrier, it also presents a chance to promote sustainability in international supply chains. The CBAM regulations may encourage nations and businesses to embrace more environmentally friendly technologies, which would have a knock-on effect on industries all around the world. Leveling the playing field could transform the global supply chain in the direction of a more sustainable and carbon-conscious future by motivating all countries to take more aggressive action on climate change.
Finally,
Global trade is probably going to undergo a radical upheaval as a result of CBAM and its related rules. Although it presents difficulties, it also presents an opportunity to promote constructive change by compelling businesses to reconsider their methods and promote a more environmentally friendly approach to global trade and manufacturing.CBAM

I get the feeling many here got so open-minded that any healthy skepticism of claims they see fell out.
Though I guess everyone looks like that when they only have that skepticism for claims they disagree with and apply far laxer standards to things they agree with, which is a pretty universal behavior among people who are trying to be smart but haven't yet figured out that their standards of evidence are often disproportionately weighted in favor of the conclusion they want.
So eh what can you do I guess? I don't want the answer to be "eh what can you do" but it's a pretty big problem and seems to be primarily an education issue, though I don't know if it can really be taught, because you also have to want to be able to evaluate evidence and not just feel right in your claims until someone tells you "no" and you have no competing argument or information to provide because you never actually checked, and as it turns out I'm not directly in charge of education department funding or the bizarre siloed tax revenue distribution process that means it way more difficult to fund school districts in poor or rural areas.
I mean I guess the answer is "just keep dumping money into fairly independent education while making it more difficult to unnecessarily classify teachers as adjunct thus depriving them of both pay and job security, and it'll probably work out" but that's the solution for a lot of things. So I guess I have to continue being a policy wonk and getting somewhat annoyed at people online.

Low cost surrogacy vs Higher quality: which way you should go?
Surrogacy isn’t just a medical procedure; instead it carries the hopes and expectations of every party involved in the procedure.  That said, surrogacy can be expensive, so some intended parents look for less expensive alternatives. Although choosing the least expensive option is sometimes the best course of action, it is understandable that lower costs can be alluring, particularly given the financial strain that surrogacy can entail. This post provides a thorough analysis of the reasons why cheaper surrogacy cost in Bangkok might have drawbacks and risks that could impact the surrogacy process's overall experience and result.
1. Possibility of Lowering Standards
Low priced options may not always carry the right quality and standards. That said, the potential for standards to be compromised is one of the main issues with inexpensive options for gay surrogacy in Bangkok. Also, especially when it comes to surrogate health care and screening procedures, this goes highly important. To make sure that surrogates are prepared for the mental and physical demands of pregnancy, top-notch surrogacy programs heavily invest in comprehensive medical and psychological screening. These screenings may not be as thorough in less expensive programs, which raises the surrogate's and the child's risks during pregnancy and childbirth.
Tumblr media
2. Low standards within the support Services
There is always the need of proper support services within the paradigm of the surrogacy journey. In addition to being a medical procedure, gay surrogacy in Bangkok involves an emotional journey for the intended parents as well as the surrogate. Comprehensive surrogacy programs frequently include a wide range of support services, including ongoing postpartum and pregnancy support, legal guidance, and counseling. To keep costs down, low-cost options might skimp on these essential services, which could leave all parties in need of support lacking. This decrease in support may make the surrogacy process more stressful and possibly cause disagreements or miscommunications.
3. Concerns about Law and Ethics
You cannot proceed with the surrogacy procedure without getting entangled in legal concerns. To guarantee that each party's rights and obligations are precisely stated and safeguarded, navigating the legal ramifications of surrogacy calls for professional guidance and close attention. The possibility exists that less expensive surrogacy options from surrogacy agency in Bangkok might not always offer full legal services, which carries a high risk. For instance, disagreements over parental rights or custody may result from incorrect or inadequate legal arrangements. Furthermore, certain inexpensive surrogacy programs might be operating in states with laxer laws, which could present ethical issues.
4. Possibility of the hidden expenses
There is every chance that you will get presented with certain hidden expenses during your surrogacy journey. Occasionally, an option that seems inexpensive may wind up costing more because of unanticipated or hidden surrogate mother cost in Bangkok. These may consist of unanticipated medical bills, travel expenditures, or extra legal fees that weren't previously disclosed. Budget surrogacy options might not be upfront about these possible additional expenses, which could cause stress and financial strain as the procedure progresses.
5. Issues with Coordination and Communication
You may always need to coordinate with the surrogate or the agency during the surrogacy procedure. That said, surrogacy requires excellent coordination and communication to guarantee that every step of the procedure proceeds without a hitch. Less expensive options from surrogacy agency in Bangkok may not have a strong staff or adequate infrastructure, which could result in poor communication and logistical mistakes. These problems may make the surrogacy process more difficult, leading to delays and more anxiety for both the intended parents and the surrogate.
Tumblr media
6. Medical Care Quality
The quality of the medical care is a huge concern for many intended parents seeking parenthood. Also, the health of the surrogate and the unborn child are both impacted by the quality of medical care received during the surrogacy process. This is where the low surrogacy cost in Bangkok may not have the same level of medical facilities and healthcare provider qualifications as more reputable, albeit more expensive, programs. The safety of the surrogacy procedure and the general health results may be impacted by this disparity.
7. Effect on Welfare of Surrogates
A surrogate mother is surely the lifeline of any surrogacy program. Hence, ensuring that surrogates receive equitable compensation and adequate care during their pregnancy is of utmost ethical importance. To save costs, low-cost surrogacy programs may make discounts regarding surrogate mother cost in Bangkok, benefits, and conditions. Serious ethical concerns are raised by such practices, which may also negatively impact the surrogate's welfare and possibly exploit weak women.
Final words
Do know that cost will always stay as a concern during your initial steps with the surrogacy journey in any country. Even though surrogacy can be extremely expensive, it's important to weigh the benefits offered by respectable and ethical surrogacy agency in Bangkok. These programs provide options that less expensive options might not: comprehensive support, high standards of care, and legal safety. It is critical for intended parents thinking about surrogacy to balance the advantages of funding a high-quality program against the possible risks and long-term effects of selecting a less expensive provider. Ultimately, when making decisions, the interests of all parties concerned should come first in terms of safety, health, and well-being.

The EU's CBAM stands for Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism
We are Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism providing by Agile Advisors, The New EU Cross-Border Trade Regulations. It's a tactical instrument for sustainable trade, not just a carbon price. This page provides the essential information: CBAM is a game-changer every trade expert needs to understand, from preventing carbon leakage to guaranteeing fair competition. The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is an innovative approach to global climate action, not merely another term for EU policy. This EU project intends to impose a carbon tax on specified imports and promote environmentally friendly production practices globally. CBAM will revolutionize international trade operations by achieving this, especially for those in the European Union. Therefore, international trade professionals need to have a solid understanding of CBAM to navigate the complexity of sustainable global commerce. Key industries will undergo a revolution thanks to CBAM and the European Green Deal.
Tumblr media
Agile Advisors as Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, The European Green Deal's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism is more than just an international trade strategy or a bureaucratic line item. With reporting requirements starting in 2023 and enforcement scheduled for 2026, CBAM is a game-changer for global climate action. It seeks to apportion an actual environmental cost to high carbon imports, such as power and cement. By doing this, the crucial problem of carbon leakage—in which businesses avoid environmental obligations by moving their production to nations with laxer regulations—is addressed. This tectonic change makes sustainability a crucial consideration in operational and financial planning, not just a way to level the playing field in international trade. Understanding CBAM is essential for individuals heavily involved in cross-border trade to future-proof their business in a world where climate change is a concern.
In our role as Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism for Agile Advisors, envision a scenario where the cement used to construct our cities fosters a sustainable future. By placing a carbon tax on cement imports, CBAM hopes to make this a reality and encourage the sector to switch to more environmentally friendly options. The iron and steel sector, which forms the foundation of contemporary infrastructure, will be subject to new responsibility standards. Production's carbon foot is lightweight, adaptable, and widely used, yet its environmental impact is also present. CBAM seeks to stop this by providing incentives for cleaner production techniques. Fertilizers are also included under CBAM, which promotes more sustainable agricultural practices. Fertilizers are necessary for agriculture but harmful when generated irresponsibly. The EU and the US agreed to remove tariffs on each other's shipments of aluminum and steel in October 2021.
Being a Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, The EU will halt its retaliatory tariffs, and the US will remove tariffs on a specific volume of metals produced in the EU that are imported into the US. By 2024, the US and the EU intend to replace current levies with the first sectoral agreement on the steel and aluminums trade that is based on carbon. Although specifics are still being worked out, both jurisdictions are anticipated to coordinate their efforts to impose import taxes depending on emissions criteria (such as product emission intensity). What effects a sectoral agreement between the US and the EU would have on US steel and aluminum exports to the EU that fall under the CBAM is yet to be discovered. Any nation interested in signing the agreement and meeting the requirements for regaining market orientation and lowering trade in high-emission steel and aluminum goods is welcome to do so. The United States and Japan agreed in February 2022 to permit historically based, sustainable amounts of steel imports from Japan in response to the EU deal.
In our opinion as Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, to address market overcapacity and the carbon intensity of the steel and aluminums industries, both nations also decided to start talks on international agreements about steel and aluminums. The deal covers exchanging emissions data and holding conferences on methods for estimating the carbon intensity of steel and aluminum’s production of power, essential to modern society, will also be closely examined, with a push for a switch to renewable energy sources has two strategic ramifications. First, it provides a predictable and well-balanced transition for enterprises operating both within and outside the European Union. Second, it allows authorities to improve the system and collect vital information about embedded emissions in the interim. This makes understanding CBAM essential for individuals heavily involved in cross-border trade, as it can help future-proof their business in a world where climate change is a concern.

There's also the huge problem of: small businesses, because of their place as mascot of capitalism, already get a shitload of special exemptions from things like taxes and worker's rights. All over the world this happens! They are essentially the kind of business that least needs defense from anyone, let alone leftists, because they are already granted special status.
They are frequently granted more leeway to fuck with a worker's hours of work. Or the right to pay less wages, or to catch up with an increase in minimum wage at a later date than "big" businesses must. Abuses of even their already laxer worker's rights also tend to go unpunished longer. And they're often in big with local law enforcement and courts the way a random outpost of a larger business might not be, as part of how the class that runs them tends to operate.
Whats wrong with defending small businesses? /Gen
A lot of people with "progressive" or "leftist" politics seem to think that defending small businesses and aspiring to start one is the peak of anti-capitalist action or countercultural when it's like... one of the most common liberal talking points. Like you can't be some epic punk anarchist and then want to reproduce the American Dream.
They tend to place a lot more emphasis on BigBusiness vs SmallBusiness and act like small business owners can like do no wrong. Also very common for small business defenders to be like "sure, you can pirate/shoplift but not from small business!!!" which like lol lmao.
There are a lot of problems with the mindset. It tends to distract from actual class politics, instead focusing more on the aesthetics of capital. It tends to towards all kinds of reactionary positions, especially on things such as IP as we have seen recently. The petit bougeoisie have (both historically and presently) often contributed against the working class, siding with the regular bourgeoisie when coming against working class movements. The class interests of the petit bourgoise are often in conflict with the class interests of the workers.
There are situations in which it can beneficial to defend small business but you should not hold a policy of "small business good" in general if you consider yourself anti-capitalist or "leftist" in any meaningful way (although leftist is in itself a meaningless term).
Anyways, obligatory disclaimer: No, you aren't evil for being a petit bourgeois. Class politics aren't moral categories. Yes, being petit bourgeois means that your class interests are in conflict with the working class. Yes, you can still be a communist, it just means you're going against your class interests, something that most of your peers do not do.

Ok I finally have the energy to talk about this like I originally wanted to. Um? Strap in I guess. I’m gonna just… go through this verse by verse, and write down my thoughts— because this song is very near and dear to me, and makes me feel a whole lot.
“I’m a horse, I’m a dog, I’m a sparrow
I’m a spider inside you
Trying to keep you off the straight and narrow”
I interpret this first half of the first verse (in the universe in my head where this is written for and about loopzoop specifically) as a kind of recognition of Lupin’s many faces. He flits between ‘horse, dog, sparrow, spider’, as Zenigata struggles to place exactly what is real about him and what might be a front. Is he really ‘a horse’ or is he something more sinister, with equally as sinister intentions? I think it’s worth pointing out that both a horse and sparrow have these connotations of freedom: Lupin presents as if he’s totally untethered, and yet, he sits as a nagging, spindly little feeling in Zenigata’s chest. As the two spend time together over the years, their morals start to align more and more— where Lupin becomes softer, more understanding, a little more thoughtful and introspective, Zenigata becomes a little more careless in his adherence to the law. He stops blindly trusting the rules he’s been taught to obey and begins to take justice into his own hands. Reflecting on this, though, Lupin becomes the voice in his head telling him to be a little laxer. He’s breaking his moral code because he trusts Lupin’s word over that of his superiors; thus ‘keep you off the straight and narrow’. It’s worth mentioning that you can also read this first section as if it’s about Zenigata, from Lupin’s perspective. Zenigata, in being Lupin’s main challenge in life, becomes ‘the spider’ pushing him further into his life of crime. While we all know that Lupin wouldn’t ever truly walk the straight and narrow, it’s not out of character for him to blame someone else for his wrongdoings. If he pins the notion on Zenigata, he isn’t doing anything wrong! He’s just poking a dangerous bear. You know. For fun!
“Pick me up, put me down, let me dangle
I’m a carrot on a string
I’m the sword as it hangs above you.”
‘Pick me up, put me down, let me dangle’ can relate to either of the two. Both Zenigata and Lupin use eachother as a means of entertainment and fulfilment, and sometimes their actions are totally self-serving. Lupin especially treats Zenigata as if he’s a plaything: ‘picking him up’ when he’s bored and ‘putting him down’ when he’s satisfied. They wait on eachother, and find fulfilment in the chase. ‘Dangling’ could represent those moments in which they wait for the other to make a move. The comparison of the ‘carrot on a string/sword as it hangs above you’ embodies the risk/reward of their relationship. For Lupin, Zenigata is a constant driving force. The idea of escaping again becomes the ‘carrot’ that encourages Lupin into each heist, and Zenigata is the challenge- the ‘sword’ that could do some serious damage if it ever made contact with him. For Zenigata, Lupin himself is the ‘carrot’. The prize just out of reach that keeps him working a pretty thankless job.
“I’m the curse, I’m the cure, the solution
I’m the reality
and the illusion
I’m a kid, I’m a friend, I’m a teacher
I’m the object in the distance
but you’ll never reach her”
To Zenigata, Lupin is both ‘the curse’ that torments him, and the ‘solution’ to said curse. If Zenigata can catch Lupin, in theory, all his problems would be fixed. And yet, Zenigata can’t catch Lupin, because that would cause a slew of new problems. You’ll notice this song is made up of contradictions and that’s definitely why I’m so attached to it in regards to their relationship haha. ‘I’m the reality/and the illusion’ to me, speaks to the duality of how Lupin presents himself (again). He’s the ‘reality’, when he stands for something bigger than himself- when he acts selflessly and with heart. (Think: Miyazaki Lupin, Late green-jacket, Nostradamus-esque red-jacket. Etc etc.) And is the ‘illusion’ when he’s unpredictable, masking & mostly self-serving. (Think: mamo, most of blue-jacket, manga Lupin. Etc etc.)
‘I’m the kid/friend/teacher’ represents the different ways in which Lupin and Zenigata’s relationship morphs/is interpreted. As a ‘kid’, Lupin is childish and materialistic: he’s at his worst when he’s disingenuous and selfish. Zenigata, similarly, is at HIS worst when he’s violent and uncaring towards Lupin. As ‘friends’, the two are equals, standing side-by-side and forgetting their differences to work towards solving something bigger than themselves. As ‘teachers’, they are better than eachother. Lupin, at his best, teaches Zenigata to let loose every once in a while. He embodies the idea of freedom and whimsy and seeing the world not as what it is, but what it could be. Zenigata, at his best, teaches Lupin to have compassion. To be selfless and to put others before himself.
‘Object in the distance/but you’ll never reach her’ is pretty self-explanatory. Lupin is always just out of reach for Zenigata. He is both emotionally unavailable (hidden behind a handful of cheerier, flirtier masks) and physically unavailable. He never lingers long enough for the two to get comfortable.
“I’m a rat, I’m a dirty little liar
I’m a deep sea diver
I’m a backseat driver in a storm”
Lupin isn’t an honest person. He doesn’t make an honest living and he certainly doesn’t tell the truth when he’s confronted. As a ‘deep sea diver’ he’s both impressive and always walking a dangerous line, and as a ‘backseat driver’, he lingers in Zenigata’s head as an irritating monologue. Zenigata, lost in a ‘storm’ (emotionally and/or physically) will often use Lupin’s voice as a guide, for better or for worse.
“I’m a chord, I’m the bell that keeps ringing
A stone in your shoe
The bird your cat keeps bringing home.”
Continuing on from this idea of an internal monologue, neither Zenigata not Lupin can seem to rid themselves of the other. (Unrelated to this point, but ‘chord’ here is a lovely indicator again of the complex feelings that come together to form each character) ‘bell that keeps ringing/stone in your shoe/bird your cat keeps bringing home’ all indicate that this is a relationship neither of them particularly want to be in— or, certainly wouldn’t have signed themselves up for. But, for one reason or another, it’s inescapable.
“I’m a rabbit, I’m a hunter and the snare
Daddy’s little princess
Mummy’s little nightmare
I’m the window, I’m the door you left open
I’m the tap you left running
I’m the choice that you should have chosen”
Finally, both Zenigata and Lupin here can be the ‘rabbit/hunter and the snare’. Lupin often presents as someone who could be easily outsmarted: all the while, masterminding a detailed scheme to come out on top. Similarly, Zenigata is underestimated constantly because of his politeness and clumsy nature, though he’s actually incredibly talented and a natural at his job. They have each ‘ensnared’ the other; and, again, are now stuck in a hunter/prey-like chase.
‘Daddy’s little princess/Mummy’s little nightmare’ in my opinion, though the hardest line in this whole song to make sense of through a shaky luzeni lens lol, represents the familial ties that keep Lupin and Zenigata on their respective paths, and how they’ve both stuck to, and deviated from, the path’s of their ancestors. Where Lupin upholds his family legacy by stealing (but strays from it by often losing treasure by putting people first), Zenigata upholds his by protecting justice (but strays from it by often breaking the law for the greater good).
‘Im the window, the door you left open/tap you left running/choice that you should have chosen’ you know that nagging feeling in the back of your head? That tells you that you definitely didn’t double-check the plugs, or turn off the oven? Luzeni are that for eachother. Every choice they make hinges on the other person. They are so ingrained in each other’s lives that it’s impossible for each of them to make a decision that doesn’t involve the other.
“I’ll never leave you alone
Push me away, but I’ll never leave you alone.”
I’ll never leave you alone by the staves is the luzeni song of the century for me. Just felt like I needed to put that out there.
I could elaborate on this so bad and I might later but rn I just needed to write it down as a statement. It’s fact. It’s here on my tumblr blog.
Also. Winter trees has been one of my favourite songs for years now. You shld listen to it if ur seeing this

Why Does God Need A Starship? (Live Reaction):
I always thought Sybok was cool and interesting and NOW I’m sure! You know it’s times like these that I’m grateful I kinda came back into the Star Trek fandom on my own, because I don’t have to deal with Opinions of older/louder Trekkies. This one kinda has a lukewarm reputation but I’m getting the vibe that I’ll genuinely enjoy it.
Yet again Bones is serving up some LOOKS damn! Look at these elder gays! Spock has rocket boots, amazing. “Because it’s there” and then falling off the goddamn mountain is such a James Tiberius Kirk thing to do 😂 “HI BONES!” These guys omfg. OH MY GOD SO WE DO SEE CAITIANS OUTSIDE THE CARTOONS?? Hell yeah! Also pole dancing to no music, is... weird. Lmao. Also okay I’m sorry Sybok is cool! Sybok is cool and interesting and I really like him! (Not morally obviously dude is shady as all fuck, but a cool dude nontheless!) Always fascinated by Cult Leader type villains, especially when they point out valid criticisms about the society from which they came (important distinction is that the CAUSE is not vilified, but the person and their means, something M****l has largely forgotten)
Awww I may ship Hikura, but Uhura & Scotty are also cute as hell!! Awwwwwww!!!! Old married couples can be so freaking cute. Chekov & Sulu are LOST ohhhh my god this is hilarious, these two idiots. Also can we talk about how Koenig’s eyebrows are slowly gaining sentience and Takei aged like fine wine? Lol. THE HOLY TRINITY OF ELDER GAYS ARE CAMPINGGGG! I’m- oh my god they’re so cute. “Marshmelon” this is cute as hell oh my god. They’re indulging and messing with Spock at the same time I’m dead! They’re singing ohh my god this gonna give me cavities with how sweet it is!!!
This Klingon dude is frickin ROCKING the eyeliner! Bruhhhh was the frickin spotlight necessary! Leave the gays alone SHHHH they’re SLEEPING!! Lmao. Yo I’ll be real this movie starts incredibly slowly but I seriously do not mind, it’s relaxing to not have to worry about missing important details if you look away for a second, it’s nice. WAIT? Does Jim’s shirt say GOT MILK?!!? Oh no, it says go climb a rock, oh thank god [“fatty milkers” flashbacks]
Seriously McCoy is just radiating so much old southern lady/gay energy in this movie and I love it so freaking much “if you ask me (and you haven’t) this is a horrible idea” he sounds like my North Carolina living Meemaw. Wow you can see Spock low-key taking psychic damage from seeing Sybok 😲 V’tosh Ka’tur of the highest order huh? Still disturbing that his government literally cast him out, that’s a red flag 😬. What happened with Sybok is probably a lot of why Spock was pressured to be as Vulcan as he was, I’m sure Sybok was a massive scandal/shame for Sarek, and knowing him, he’d end up making that his kids’ problem not his 🙄
Oh neat!! Chekov is in the in the captain’s chair. Oh this is the song they replaced Nichols’s voice for 😤 but also GIRL THAT WAS BADASS AND THAT SONG WAS A BOP! Quick question, wow these “alien” horses are somehow even worse than the unicorn dog (also it’s a desert planet, wouldn’t it be better to have, like, alien camels or something?) This dude’s Klingon is freakin impeccable btw! He’s really got the vibe down! Jim did you forget how fuckin bananas strong Vulcans are??? Sybok went like 😡☹️ when Spock pointed that laser rifle at him 😂😂😂 again even tho I know Scotty and Uhura are married but it’s scenes like getting held hostage right there where they radiate such POWER COUPLE energy GAWD! 🤩
Stay out of this Bones we’re having a lover’s quarrel! Jim is taking fucking psychic damage from this entire conversation lol. Okayyyy whatever Sybok is doing is definitely some kind of mind control type thing, that shit is creepy af no thank youuuuuu (spores anyone?). Oh my god Spock & Jim are so married lmao, that “I’m sorry” Vulcan kiss in the brig man Aw. (Oh man Magic’s of mega-tsu got devani mixed by that comment lame!) SCOTTYYYYYY!! YAS!
Yay rocket boot glomp! Lmfao! Sybok needs to brush up on his earth history Columbus did NOT figure out the world is round 🙄 Ah Scotty being like “listen, you’re not okay rn so I’m not really down for whatever you think you wanna do right now it can wait until you’re right in the head again” and they could’ve not done that and it would’ve been creepy (especially by today’s standards) but they didn’t! And that was awesome!
Bones being skeptical and has every right to be! He’s faced down would be gods and would-be messiahs before! Also I’ve seen people judge Bones for being the first to cave but Sybok totally did that shit to him without consent! He didn’t go back on his beliefs, Sybok forced him to! BONES PROTECTION SQUAD IS HERE AND ITS ME! Oh Bones, man, poor babeyyyy (fuck Sybok!) 😭😭😭 OH MY GOD BONESSSSSS Sybok leave him alone! Goddamnit! Leave him alone!
I think Jim can see Spock’s Sybok induced vision cuz they’re ✨Bonded✨ (it didn’t seem like they could see Bones’s, other than what Bones was doing). JIM KNOWS SO MUCH BETTER! ITS HOW HE BEAT THE SPORES ITS HIS CORE! I UNDERSTAND AND LOVE HIM FOR IT!!! Spock 😍😍😍 he’s like, you’re bullshit happiness pill doesn’t work on me cuz I am whole for the first time in my life, and I love my husband, and I already learned my lesson decades ago 💚🖖🏻💚 (who knew how important the character development from This Side of Paradise AND Return To Tommorow would be??? Hell yeah!)
I love Scotty so much 🥰 hardcore badass Hufflepuff from beginning to end! Also I hope Sybok appears in SNW that could be really really interesting if they do it right! ITS GOD (derogatory) REVERE HIM! Oh here comes that legendary question!! “What dies God need with a starship?” Red flag don’t call Jim a creature! Oh shit god has laxer eyes oh no lmao! Bones snaps out of whatever Sybok did to him when “God” hurts his friends and we LOVE HIM FOR ITTTT! Awww Spock & Sybok and be saaaaad, oh shit! Into the lightning to fight a mirror of yourself like Lazarus in that one episode!
OH SHIT THE KLINGONS ARE HERE! Oh damn Spock just swore a cuss the right way, at a Klingon General no less! General dude just went “caotain tell Kirk you are sorry!” LMAO! NOT IN FRONT OF THE KLINGONS 😂😂😂😍 KISS DAMNIT!! God this whole after scene is so good, maybe the god is the friends we made along the way. “I lost a brother once” you also lost SAM dummy, I know you were just telling Spock you love him but still. SHUT UP SPOCK IS PLAYING ROW ROW ROW YOUR BOAT ON HIS LYRE??
Okay, seriously, I unironically love this movie, it might be my favorite out of the ones I’ve seen so far actually. TMP felt like the movies getting their sea legs, but it was slow and messy, it wasn’t as thought provoking as it wanted to be (aside from Spock’s wonderful arc in that film). WoK & TSFS are amazing for drama and angst and Spirk content, but they weren’t really asking the big questions Star Trek is wonderful for. Then The Voyage Home is just plain silly and fun and wholesome. But this, this movie had depth! The whole premise is “what is god and is there is one?” I LOVE that as someone who has a very complicated relationship with spirituality. I also already loved the TOS episodes This Side of Paradise, Return To Tomorrow, The Omega Glory and The Way To Eden, and this movie had the best of those concepts! Sybok was such a fascinating antagonist/anti-hero and I hope we get to see him explored more on screen one day, even if it’s just through Discovery/SNW flashbacks. It may have started off slow and it’s not without its flaws but this felt like the Star Trekkiest TOS Star Trek movie so far!

12. Claire
She had never felt so happy to wake up with the sunlight hitting at her face the way it did that morning. They didn't dare to leave the storage house until the first rays of light hadn't come out from the horizon. In part, because they had wanted a little more rest and in part because they didn't want to risk the chance of meeting another of those horrible creatures.
With the light, they could finally see what was inside the storage room, and after checking the contents of the boxes, they had come across some supplies that included more weapons, ammo, a first aid kit, and flashlights. The weaponry was quite old, and Claire knew they probably weren't as fancy as the ones Leon usually used, but it was better than nothing. They also found some cans of food and water that weren't yet due in the boxes. It wasn't a fancy meal, but the canned fruits provided the needed carbohydrates that their bodies required for energy. Claire had instantly felt a little more energetic after the small and humble meal, and she had to admit that compared to other times, she appreciated the locals for storing the food in that place. She would have thanked them if they hadn't turned into parasite controlled zombies, of course.
With their new gear, stock, and a full stomach, the duo had started their walk to the mysterious manor. So far, the way had been calm: only interrupted by a couple of the unfriendly locals that they defeated without problems.
Claire noticed that the closer they got to the manor, the quieter the forest became. Somehow that made her uncomfortable. The lack of sound was antinatural, and maybe it was her paranoia, but she felt observed, and she was half expecting another sudden monster to jump over them. She could tell Leon's thoughts weren't too far from her own as the man moved stealthily and alert at all times.
Nobody would think that, some years ago, this same man was a scared rookie cop trying to survive a city filled with zombies.
The thought of how much he had grown and become better drew a smile on Claire's face.
Just what are you feeling so proud about when this is all a mess?
She often felt proud of others, even if it wasn't something she was supposed to do. She was proud of her brother. Like hell, how wouldn't she? The man had saved many lives in the last few years. She was also proud of Moira; the girl had gotten over her fear of guns and trained under her father's eye. She was also proud of Natalia. She had a normal life now, making it through all the horrors of her past. Claire was very proud of Sherry. She had heard from Chris that the girl had become an agent like Leon, and even though Claire would have wished for the girl to live a quiet life, she respected her decision. Of course, she was proud of Leon's successful career as an agent.
"There it is." Leon's voice broke into her thoughts, and Claire stopped dryly, staring at the manor ahead, "It certainly gives me bad vibes..."
An unpleasant flashback ran through her head as she remembered the Ashford's Residence, but as she watched the house more carefully, she realized that the place was different. This house looked older, and the gray walls, covered by ivy and moss. More than a manor, it looked more like a castle. A quick scan around convinced them that there was no one around the area.
"Guess our friends from Neo-Umbrella didn't wait for us..." Leon whispered.
"Well, knowing their sense of hospitality, they probably left some of their pets behind to receive us, though."
"Most likely. That sounds like something terrorists would do," Leon sighed, "We'll have to take a look and find out. I think the thing jamming the sign of my phone is in there. If we can deactivate it, I can contact Hunnigan, and maybe, we can figure out something about what they were doing in here."
"All right, let's take a look. What could go wrong, right?"
A lot of things. The annoying little voice in her head muttered.
The duo made their way to the house with extreme caution. The place seemed deserted. The only evidence of people ever being in there was the mess inside: furniture was turned over or broken, papers scattered all over the floor along with other decor accessories. Claire found bloodstains in some of the walls, and she shuddered. Maybe their "friends" hadn't left after all, but something had gotten them before they arrived.
"Now, this looks ominous. Why are there so many papers in here?"
"They seem like medical records, but the papers are too dirty to read them," she said, picking some of the scattered sheets. The pages looked blurred with humidity, and some had red stains that covered half of the text.
"Knowing these guys, there's probably an electronic record somewhere. We need to find a computer." Leon replied, looking around the rooms with his gun raised, "There are signs of struggle. I guess they didn't leave on good terms…"
That if they had made it out alive.
"There's too much blood. Do you think one of their pets went through havoc?"
"Most likely, maybe it was the one that attacked us last night."
Claire picked a folder that was over a table. The yellowish surface had dried stains of blood, but she ignored it and flipped through its contents. Her face tensed as her eyes traveled over the printed letters.
"They were making a new virus, " she said with anger, "These people don't ever learn that you shouldn't mess up with nature."
"Any idea of what sort of virus that is?"
"No...this seems more like genetic blueprints," Claire replied, "RNA virus sequences and possible recombinations with other viral agents. I'm taking these. it might be useful later. I can look into it when we get back to TerraSave.."
"Didn't know you had a liking for this sort of mad scientist stuff. Didn't picture you like a science girl..."
"You know, I did finish college before I joined TerraSave," Claire laughed.
"So I heard, but I never asked what you majored in, now that I think about it."
"Oh, so you didn't check my background?" Claire replied, surprised.
"I don't do that with friends. It's easier to ask, so what did you major in?"
"Biology and life sciences. Did a specialization in virology after joining TerraSave," she replied, checking another pile of folders, "I never thought I'd get so much into viruses. You would be amazed by how many outbreaks TerraSave attends, and for worse or better, not all of them involve zombies. Going into virology sounded reasonable, logical, and useful. "
Claire's crescent interest in viruses had to lead to her choosing a virology specialization. She had thought that it would come in handy while working in TerraSave. The organization was founded as a countermeasure to terrorist attacks. However, as time went by, TerraSave began attending other cases, including viral outbreaks in affected zones and as they worked with WHO. As an active agent at the time, Claire had participated in many operatives. That made her interested in the subject. After thirteen years of working in the organization, Claire was a pretty respectable professional. She wasn't as prodigy as Saya or Rebecca, but her observations and criticisms were valuable, and she had permission to work on her own projects.
"Never pictured you like a bookworm, but it seems I was mistaken."
"Another con on my side, I guess. Relationship wise..."
"I doubt it. Nothing wrong with a smart woman. I find it much more appealing. So, does your scientific vision give you a lead to what we have here?"
"Unfortunately, nothing clear. There's a lot of things you can do with genomes and some genetic engineering. I am not a biosynthetic engineer, but this looks like design proposals? We have someone in HQ who could see through it or maybe in B.S.A.A. I want to look at the digital records; if we are lucky, there might be something left in there. What about your signal jam?"
"I think I might have found the cause. Up there in the tower, there seems to be an antenna of some 's a good lead..."
"Guess we found our next stop. Let's go. I've got the feeling that I don't want to be around when the night falls."
"Always trust a female's sixth sense."
Claire followed Leon through the house. The absence of hostiles was welcome, but at the same time made her wonder what could have happened to them. They found more papers on their way, but nothing that could give them a clue of what had taken place in that place. After a while, they finally arrived at the tower.
The room seemed to be the security command center as there were several screens and computers. Leon got himself busy as he started to work on the antenna right away. Without much else to do, Claire decided to take a look at the server and see if she could get her hands on any interesting data while Leon tried to fix his communication line.
Well, let's see what you kept in here.
Claire began typing. She wasn't a techie like Wallace, so her skills as a hacker were terrible, but to her surprise, the security around the server was much laxer than she would have imagined. Or maybe she was too used to her overestimated security system in TerraSave.
Sadly, the computers had no access to the research datalog. However, it gave Claire information about the facility, and just as expected, there was a large underground structure underneath the mansion; the security system provided a clean 3D blueprint of the facility, showing research rooms, animal essays rooms, and laboratories. Everything pinpointed on the screen.
What the hell were they researching here?
Claire checked the security protocols, which seemed typical procedures designed for facilities handling potentially pandemic agents. She was familiar to them as a few years before she had adapted to those same protocols to propose an effective plan of contention in case of bioterrorist attacks. There was nothing that could be useful to find out what she wanted, but she did find something that caught her attention.
Damn, if only Wallace were here. He could probably hack into the central system and get me that information.
"I think I got it." Leon's voice made her look away from the screen, "I have the signal back. I'll try to contact Hunningan."
"That's great news…!"
"What about you? Did you find anything?"
"No, and yes. I managed to hack into the security system, but the servers aren't linked, so I have no access to research data from here. I did get a nice blueprint of the facility, though. Just look at this, the main research area is right underneath us, which is not surprising at all. I also checked the security protocols, and from that, I can say they were doing in vivo essays. I found something alarming and unexpected."
"How come?"
"They have a viral repository here. It is curious because, with the T-virus, C-virus, and all those new strains that Umbrella had been spreading, most bioterrorists had dropped the use of traditional pathogenic weapons."
"By traditional you mean…?"
"Regular viral agents: influenza, Nipah Virus, chickenpox, ebola… Ring a bell? They have a bacteria stock, too. Anthrax, Tuberculosis, MRSA," she said, scrolling down the screen, " Basically Level 3 and 4 pathogens. Just what the hell were they doing here?"
" If you don't know, neither do I. Can you get the information from here?"
"Sorry to disappoint you, but I am a virologist, not a hacker. The information should have a back up in the central server, but I am not skilled enough to break through their encryption to get it. We would need a vicious hacker for that, and the only one I know is somewhere in Hughesville."
"So, in other words, if we want that data, we'll need to go down there."
"Very sharp, Kennedy."
"Well, I guess we should bring some company down there," Leon commented, pulling his mobile to his ear. "Hunnigan… I need a favor."

Oh god i just realised i donty work there anymore so i can tell u how i got my last jpob
okayt so fguckin
I worked at sbubby in a hospital, it was a really fun time, loved it so much, but I had an issue with my manager. He was a fucking idiot.
Since day 0 we were at odds, there was Supervisor Lee. The singular saviour of Subway, but o high Mr. Manager Man was still in charge at the end of the day, and, in massive credit to myself, I lasted most of a year until I let my shit slip and I just called him a fucking idiot to his fucking idiot face.
Having clear disagreements and also maybe a laxer than professional approach to customers and still being in a hospital, I was told to patrol between sbuuby and two other places to clean tables -not unprecedented, I did this when my ears were all jammed up and I couldn't do customer work a few months prior. 4 hour days, this is important- basically as a way to get me out of his hair. It lasted two days.
Being hot, sexy, and more than anything, good at cleaning; I had all three storefronts sparkling with an hour n half to go, so I decided to sit to eat chattin to my friends while they made my butty.
Tragically, someone from one of the other shops came around and thought this counted as a break, becuase 4-hour days don't get breaks. No, I, of course, argued, there's nothing to do, so I'm giving it a few minutes for people to leave so I have stuff to clean... also I'm hungry.
The crone was unconvinced and trotted off to report this to Mr. Manager Man. She didn't tell me this, but I could guess. I finished my food and continued to do exactly as I said I would; clean now people are gone. I was interrupted though, not just by Mr.MM, but his Supermanager or whateverthefuck.
He asks I step outside, yeah I know this routine.
He says something, but that's long lost in my memory, I'm done.
Addressing Mr.MM, not acknowledging Super,"Fuck off, shut the fuck up. You treat everyone in there like shit and pretend it's their fucking fault that you never hire anyone and all the ones that don't put up with your shit are the problem when it's fucking you piece of shit" I tried to go in again but once again interrupted by Super.
Some more things but I'm already sacked so what's the difference.
I give my basic defence and explanation for the sake of it.
Predictably, I was suspended. With full pay, for legal reasons.
Now, the last time I was suspended it was for four days after which I was was sacked from maccies, so I'm obviously expecting the same thing.
but
no
Four days pass, no contact,
A week passes, I'm paid on payday.
Two weeks. Paid again.
Three and four and not a word from Sodexo, but £240 regardless.
Week five, I finally get bored and because i can't get a job on suspension, I contact them to sort this shit out.
"Corey, what happened?"
I hear you begging from just beyond the monitor.
Well.
They forgot.
Okay, more accurately, my suspension case was put through just before the person who processed it went on leave for three weeks, and by the time they were back, it was low-priority.
So, what was the follow up.
The follow up was a job offer for stores. They forgot about my case and I'm pretty sure I could have sued or whatever but In good truth I consider this story absolute gold and I loved the job they were gonna give me so I didn't see a problem. I mean yeah I should'a but that job was a solid year of fun even through covid.
Got me out of sbubby, into a better job that I loved even more.
I was so sad when I got sick of management again, but that's a whole second story.

Dangerous Jobs of the Future (Final Effect)
The future can be a dangerous place, and this is definitely true when it comes to jobs. Here are some of the most dangerous - but profitable jobs you can have in the distant future.
Salvager The colossal battles fought between Grimm and the various factions from Remnant often leave huge fields of debris that need to be cleared. Simply gathering the debris using a System Processor or similar device is relatively easy, but it is also very wasteful. Preserving important components for reuse (e.g., engines, reactors, sensor arrays, etc.) requires a more delicate touch, which is where salvagers come in.
A salvager’s job is to go through debris fields and remove anything that can potentially be reused or repaired. Although some salvagers are independent, most have standing contracts with the galaxy’s major factions. For example, the fleets of the various factions save countless lien each year by reusing and repairing damaged components salvaged from ships, as opposed to making them from scratch.
What makes salvaging so dangerous is that these debris fields can be incredibly dense. Sudden changes in conditions can easily lead to salvager ships being crushed or otherwise damaged. Worse, not all of the wrecks are stable. A battered reactor make look salvageable, only to go critical and explode. There is even the possibility of surviving Grimm hiding in the debris field and attack unwary salvagers.
As a result, salvaging is an extremely dangerous profession with a high turnover rate. However, a skilled salvager captain can make an absolute killing in the aftermath of a Grimm battle, so there is no shortage of people willing to risk life and limb to earn a hefty chunk of lien in a relatively short amount of time.
Salvagers not only deal with the aftermath of Grimm battles, but they also roam the galaxy in search of older wrecks and debris fields, with many exploring remote planets in search of salvageable material or perhaps even a profitable archaeological find.
Salvagers come from all walks of life, but there are many Dia and Al Bhed amongst them. Furthermore, many of Taren’s descendants, the so-called Wayfarers can also be found plying the salvage trade throughout the galaxy.
Remote Mining Remote mining involves mining in areas far from the industrial heartland of the Remnant Galaxy. In that heartland, mining is conducted on a colossal scale. Asteroid fields can play host to hundreds, even thousands, of ships whilst planets become home to mining machinery that towers into the sky and vanishes deep below the earth.
However, amongst the remote planets and asteroid fields of the outer rim and the less well-explored sections of the galaxy, it is a different story. Here, brave individuals or small groups seek out riches, putting their lives on the line every day in hazardous conditions.
Almost none of these areas are terraformed or suitable for life. Instead, miners must wear protective equipment (e.g., mining suits or modified power armour) at all times, and even their homes are rarely safe. A ‘living dome’ on a planet devoid of an atmosphere and subject to terrifying storms can easily become a tomb if it fails or if the environment overwhelms it.
This far from the more civilised and settled worlds, crime may also be a problem, and attacks by space pirates are a real risk. However, the rewards can be impressive. A skilled - or lucky - miner who hits a good patch can make enough money to last a lifetime in a matter of months. This is particularly true for areas where the rarest and most valuable resources can be found.
In this remote and desolate locations, the luxuries that many people take for granted are all but impossible to obtain. Miners - and their families - rely heavily on the occasional visit by travelling merchants, and perhaps the occasional patrol by the fleets of one of the major factions.
Terraformer Although terraforming can often be completed using a largely automated process, there are times when a more personal touch is required. The task of a terraformer is a ruthless an unforgiving one, where even a small mistake can cause a catastrophic change in conditions or where a seemingly minor malfunction in the titanic equipment required to transform a planet can lead to devastating accidents.
This is particularly true for areas that are not being terraformed by the major factions. Although the cost of terraforming is truly enormous, it is not unheard of for certain groups (e.g., large communities) to pool their resources and try to terraform a planet on the cheap, so they can settle there.
By treaty, the terraforming of worlds that are already inhabited is strictly policed and controlled because nobody wants to wipe out the native inhabitants or damage a world that has already found its own equilibrium. In those cases, most terraforming is extremely subtle and conducted by only the most skilled experts using the finest equipment.
However, the law is laxer when it comes to terraforming planets that are barren and devoid of life. In these cases, private groups can ask for authorisation to attempt terraforming, and if they fund it, this permission will often be granted. Yet terraforming a world is a treacherous task. In many cases, planets not only suffer from a lack of life but also issues with the atmosphere, soil composition, and so on. All of these must be addressed, and the equipment needed to do so is expensive and dangerous to use.
There are multiple instances of terraforms essentially blowing themselves up in the processing of terraforming a world for settlement. Naturally, the rewards, should they succeed, are incredible, which is why so many people are willing to participate.

Do you have any sts character headcanons? Like for Shun maybe?
HI ANON, so I started answering this and ended up writing a whole post-canon bullet point fic here, but it’s not really character headcanons, so I made it a separate post!
but for character headcanons!! here’s a hodgepodge of vague headcanons about the 5 main bronzes + saori because I’m basic :’)
shun really likes plants, but isn’t actually very good at taking care of them, mostly because he dislikes killing pests (they also have a right to live!!) so he often ends up watching his houseplants get devoured by spider mites and scale insects lmao, but he waters them to the bitter end
as a corollary: shun is also the designated insect-catcher of the mansion because even though there are servants to do that, every time he sees someone about to kill an insect, he protests and runs off to fetch a jar so he can capture it and put it outside instead
everyone basically just stops killing insects while he’s around and if he’s in the same wing of the mansion, the servants just usually kind of shout for him ahaha most of them think it’s very cute. a couple of them find it an irritating nuisance
seiya is enormously skeeved out by bugs actually, so he’s called shun before at like midnight like “WHERE ARE YOU THERE’S A SPIDER ON MY CEILING I CAN’T SLEEP LIKE THIS” (shun was taking a walk on the beach lol)
later hyoga was like, “why didn’t you just kill it aren’t you a saint” and seiya just gave him a scandalized look and said “i can’t disappoint shun like that how could you say such a thing aren’t you dating him”
(hyoga is actually ALSO pretty skeeved out by insects, but he’s got a better poker face about it)
the two most competitive at games (board games, video games, word games, card games, sports, whatever) are seiya (unsurprising) and hyoga. there’s been many a game where shiryu and shun, having been eliminated or chosen to sit out, spectate as seiya and hyoga get increasingly close to throwing hands over mario or something
ikki doesn’t take graude foundation money unless they’re going on a specific, sanctuary-related trip. for all that he would lay down his life for justice or whatever, he also is just. angry. contrary to popular belief, he doesn’t spend all his time brooding on death queen--he actually likes working temp manual labor jobs to take a break from thinking about you know. all of it.
saori wrestles a lot with her conception of her grandfather and how to honor his memory, as well as her own role in the childhood abuse of the others. like, she was a child! a child who was told constantly that she was better than everyone else and that she should treat them like they were beneath her--it’s completely understandable that she acted the way she did, but it doesn’t mean she didn’t hurt people. she tries hard not to throw money at them out of guilt, but she’s actually a pretty awkward bean around people her own age, so she has a hard time figuring out how she should act instead. when she’s not being ~Athena or like ~ojou-sama, she’s actually a bit of a social mess
this is more endearing than anything else, and the bronzes prefer that over her other personas
shiryu and hyoga sometimes have conversations about their different experiences as mixed race kids in japan (I feel like this is up for debate, but I think there are some incarnations of shiryu where’s he’s half japanese half chinese?? whatever, these are hcs, I’m going with it) since hyoga is obviously mixed from just looking at him, whereas shiryu often doesn’t get clocked, except when he’s wearing more chinese-style clothing (which he does often), at which point a lot of people just assume he’s full chinese
shun eventually learns russian, and he and hyoga talk shit together. they have a repeated bit where they’ll comment about the others in front of them in russian because it drives them nuts (it’s never anything very mean, just good-natured gentle roasts)
saori, being a somewhat hyper-educated sort of rich girl, DOES know russian, and they get her in on it sometimes
shun likes to be around people, but he also likes quiet, which is sometimes hard to achieve, since seiya is, after all, rather loud and also a big gravity well, but hyoga, when he’s not being lured into a competition, also prefers the quiet, so they start falling into the same spaces
they sometimes spend whole days in silence in the same room doing their own things--hyoga reads russian and japaenese lit to make sure he keeps those two languages sharp, but he’s a bit laxer on his english. greek he studies more formally.
ikki doesn’t actually have a problem with hyoga--they’re not the best of friends, and their personalities don’t mesh very well, but they have solid mutual respect going, and they’re both invested in shun’s wellbeing, which is usually enough for both of them. ikki thinks hyoga is condescending and hyoga thinks ikki is emotionally unavailable and selfish, but they’d also die for each other so you know
anyways. i simply love them!! i hope uh, you enjoyed??? :DDD
