Thought I'd share this one with you all today. I came across it on a routine rampage through some boxes full of old treasures to work on. 👧🏻This is my mums cousin.She was around 15 at the time.. meaning it was taken some 70 years ago.🤫 As you can see in image number 1 as @ 22nd Oct 2020 .. it's a little worse for wear..or should I say very little wear at all but rather just some good old fashioned aging in a forgotten box.  I was surprised when I dug the digital, restored version out from my laptop, to see it was only showing some crazing, yellowing and was in need of some light repair. This work was carried out on 27th of Jan 2014. The point? Had I not intervened, and left this untouched, the precarious condition of the image may have seen it turn into a jigsaw of many un-put-back-togetherable, shattered pieces.  😳No one has disturbed this for 6 years yet the decline in its condition is significant. If you have any pieces like this ..please restore them, document, photograph, scan or even photocopy them. In my experience, old photos are like roller-coaster rides...the first few moments heading down are oddly slow, then comes the acceleration.
