Hi! I’m Dunia Loves and this is my first post on Tumblr. I had to start with something close to my heart, my Build a Better World Legacy Challenge for The Sims 4. 🌍✨

This legacy is about raising generations to build the kind of world we all dream of. A world where everyone thrives.

Over 10 generations, your Sims will create homes, communities, and connections that grow from self-sufficiency to global thriving. It’s the perfect challenge for anyone wanting to set up a forever world in The Sims 4, blending gameplay with imagining how we can build a better world together, in-game and in real life. 💚

All the rules and graphics for this challenge are made by me, and I’ll be sharing my gameplay here too. I’m linking a spreadsheet of the rules for those who prefer that format below.

Generation One: Brown Sugar Boba

Harmony Croft left her small-town life behind, determined to make something of herself in the big city of San Myshuno. Raised by her farmer grandparents, she traded starry country nights for bustling streets, landing a tiny apartment and a job at a local diner. But city life isn’t as glamorous as she imagined—money is tight, her feet ache from long shifts, and rude customers leave her wondering if she’s cut out for this. Torn between her dreams of independence and the pull of home, Harmony must decide if the city is where she truly belongs or if the country still holds her heart...

Generational Goals: 

Run a restaurant and get to at least 3 stars before you quit.

Move to Chestnut Ridge as an adult and start making money through nectar making.

Marry a sim with the Rancher trait.

Have at least one child.

Adopt at least 1 ranch animal.

Complete half of the Master Chef aspiration.

There’s nothing Short n’ Sweet about this challenge 🤭 Although I did try to make it shorter by pairing two songs together. Most of the songs from the album are sad, which led to some very romantically tragic (but dare I say realistic) generations. If you get bored of the "perfect household", this challenge is for you!

This is a legacy challenge created by @lxdice, originally for TS4 - I had a read through the generations and watched her LP and thought the gameplay sounded so fun and I couldn’t help myself but want to adapt it to TS3!

I’ve kept the storylines mostly the same, just adapted the challenge goals to suit TS3 gameplay, I also tweaked some of the titles as I like the option of having an heir be whatever gender I want - up to you if you wanna use my new titles or lxdice’s original ones :)

For some of the gens, there will be a list of mod / CC suggestions, if you don’t play with mods / CC then I’ve also listed mod-free adaptations to the rules to keep it vanilla-friendly if you’d rather :)

Feel free to swap out traits, LTWs and goals to something you can do with the packs you own. Some generations are more wholesome than others. Some are filled with drama!

Your natural talent for baking bread and decorating sweet treats made you think that owning a bakery would be a piece of cake *pun fully intended*. So, with stars in your eyes and every last penny to your name, you poured it all into opening your dream bakery. What you didn’t expect was to fall in love and get pregnant with your partner so quickly. For a while, life felt perfect. Business was picking up, your little family was thriving, and love was sweet. Each time you or your partner are pregnant you should read the most expensive pregnancy book, and have the baby’s other parent read it too if they are part of the active HH.

Host a baby shower every time you or your partner is pregnant (Throw a house party and decorate the house with baby stuff, then go around the sims at the party announcing that you're pregnant & have them feel your sim’s belly).

Host a Feast Party, Pool Party and Gift-Giving Party with all (known) family members invited at least once. 

Host a family member to live at the house for 2-5 days at least twice. (it can be a different family member each time).

Parent your children strictly: - Read to your toddlers at least 3 times using the toddler skill books (preferably the logic ones - they’re the ones with the pink covers). - Teach your toddlers all of their essential skills for age up - Always punish them for bad behaviour. - Always do homework with them & make sure they keep up good grades. - Don’t allow the relationship bar to go above the ‘acquaintance’ level with your kids - if you do become friends, you need to get into an argument to set it back down. - If one of your kids is being particularly rebellious, feel free to ship them off to military school. - Send your kids to the military academy in town (NRAAS Careers - Schools)

What's even worse is that you got pregnant very young and had to put your life plans on hold to raise the baby. Telling your parents was the scariest part. They were livid. Too scared to stay, you and your partner ran away, leaving everything behind, and had to start from scratch. You gave birth to your baby and showed it so much love, while trying to make ends meet. Once your baby was old enough, you joined the athlete career for some stable income, but eventually realised you want to be more involved in your children's lives, so you decided to open your own gym and yoga studio. Soon enough, you built a life for yourself and a beautiful family. And you did it all by yourself, without the help of your parents.

Everything just seems to fall into place perfectly for you. From your amazing relationship with Gen 6, to being with your high school sweetheart, the one you’re sure you’ll marry someday. You know what, why wait? Right after graduation, you land a job as a Journalist (Gen 6 always asked for your feedback on their work, so why not get paid for your opinions?) and start planning your dream wedding. You go all out, celebrating with both your family and your fiancé’s. Everything is going perfectly! Until the night before the wedding. At your bach party, things get out of hand. You get totally wasted and end up having a secret hookup with your fiancé’s best friend. The next day, unable to face what you've done, you leave your fiancé at the altar and disappear to an off the grid lot.

There, in the quiet of nature, you begin to heal. You discover a deep love for the outdoors and animals. Everything about your life seemed on track… until you met the local teenage delinquent, the one everyone warned you about. Something about them fascinated you. But it seems you weren’t cut out for corporate life. So you took gigs as a freelance sculptor.  You refused to let your siblings struggle like you did, so you do everything you can to put them through school and set them up for success. Once they’ve all moved out, that's when you can start living life!

I love this challenge so much I decided to make graphics for the first time! They're a little messy, but it is my first attempt at making graphics, so hopefully I will only improve from here!
