thinking so much about the fact that leo wants desperately to be the stoic, mysterious princely archetype that xander exudes so perfectly and succeeds in a way that he doesn't even realize. he doesn't realize that he's mysterious because nobody actually knows all that much about him despite the often deep conversations people have with him. he doesn't realize that he actually is fairly stoic, as the definition of stoicism is not necessarily showing no emotion but rather enduring severe hardship without complaining or showing how much he's struggling. he thinks he doesn't measure up to xander because he's not as intimidating, because people are comfortable enough to speak to him about their issues and come to him for advice–but in a way, that makes him more intimidating, because now he knows all of this information about them that he can use against them without him having given up anything. his proficiency and talent with people could be absolutely fucking terrifying if he realized and acknowledged it, and if he truly wanted to be the evil prince so many people chalked him up to be, the evil prince he convinced himself he wanted to be, good god could he be that. but he's just so good at heart without even necessarily realizing it. he's so blinded by his admiration of xander that he fails to see all of the things which he succeeds in, and it makes me so sad.

I started to explain that we were looking for invisible soldiers? Jakob realized that was a bad idea so I improvised? The invisible soldiers attacked and he and his two friends helped us fight them? Ringing any bells?

Elise: Oh yeah! The guy with the armor gave Jakob a pebble!

Camilla: I believe the man you are about to fight is Chrom, and we met his sister Lissa and his retainer Frederick that time.

Leo: Sister, wasn't your improvised story that the invisible soldiers were Invisible Warthogs? Could you not think of anything better?

Corrin: Hey! I'd like to see YOU do better!

Leo: A group of thugs attacked us, stole from us, and the mages among them used an invisibility spell.

Corrin: Ah… yeah that's way better.

Elise: Jakob and Frederick did get along well. It was funny seeing them try and one up each other over the better servant!

Camilla: Odin, Selena, and Laslow behaved… oddly. Almost as if they knew those three.

Corrin: Perhaps Ylisse is the homeland I've heard them speak of.
