“Welcome to the New Age” (NewAge SL Starter)

The CIA was trying to track down Jason Bourne, the modern day "Public Enemy Number One", and they hadn't had any success up until that point with catching him, which told Tamerlane that the guy was not only really good at what it was he did, but that he also desperately didn't want to get caught. In a weird kind of way, Tamerlane could relate to that but he kept that to himself as he made his way out with Atticus and Ginger to meet the rest of the team so that they could set out on their mission. The team consisted of Tamerlane and Atticus, Bloody Mary, the Captain, Guinness, who Tamerlane had never actually spoken to before, and the new kid Cayden, who the Statesmen had been calling Bacardi. It bothered Tamerlane a little bit that they were sending a kid out into all of that, but they didn't seem to have any qualms about it and that didn't come as a surprise to Tamerlane because that was just how they were as far as Tamerlane was concerned; some of them were kind of heartless and didn't seem to give a damn at all as far as he was concerned. They were putting him up against /the/ Jason Bourne because they thought Tamerlane was their best shot at subduing one of the most dangerous rogue agents on the face of the planet. He didn't want Atticus having to go up against Bourne, so he was going to do it for that reason. His little brother meant everything to him and was all he'd had for most of his life, and he wasn't about to let him get hurt. Those thoughts went through Tamerlane's mind as they boarded the plane they were going to take to get to Bourne and the CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia. Tamerlane wasn't an agent at all, and yet there he was armed and ready to go into battle on the side of the people that he swore he was never going to submit to in his life. He was, like he had actually told Atticus, doing it for his little brother and wanted to be there with and for him should he need Tamerlane. His focus fell on Atticus for a moment as they got closer to their destination, and then his eyes moved away from him and focused on Ginger's voice coming from his earpiece. "They're goin' to drop you off first. Ya gotta be ground level to get to Bourne, and everyone else is goin' to fan out to find him. Ya'll need to get him in one spot, and then Jameson needs to get in there and make contact." Tamerlane looked over at Atticus again when Ginger was done speaking and waited for him to nod or speak, or give some sign that he understood what Ginger had just said, and he watched as Atticus hesitated before finally nodding a little, the look on his face and in his eyes one of absolute concern. "We're droppin' off Captain Morgan next. We gotta get her down there 'fore we get everyone else down there." Tamerlane looked over at the Captain for a moment and watched as she simply nodded once, seeming like she was /still/ really angry but also more than ready to get the ball rolling. "After that, we'll get everyone else down on the ground at the same time and track Bourne down from there. Ya'll be careful and keep track of each other. And keep me informed on what's goin' on." Tamerlane waited for the signal that it was his time to get off the plane and touch down to the ground, and did so as soon as Ginger said to and as soon as Atticus gave another small and very tense, hesitant nod. Once he was on the ground, he looked back and saw that Captain Morgan was there too, then gave her a small nod and pulled one of the guns on his belt out, taking the safety off and grasping it firmly as he started in the direction that he had been told to go in. After a little bit, he heard Ginger in his earpiece again saying that Atticus had gotten off of the plane along with Guinness, Bacardi, and Bloody Mary. Everyone fanned out the way they were supposed to, and Tamerlane waited to hear that Bourne had been found and was where he needed to be so that Tamerlane could go get him. His heart hurt every time he heard his little brother's voice through the earpiece, and he tried to focus on him and the fact that he was there doing that for Atticus so that he didn't have to be the one being put in the position that Tamerlane was in. He knew that it wasn't any easier with the situation being the other way around and that Atticus was having a hard time with it, but he listened to and did everything Atticus told him to and had sworn to him that he was going to walk away from that fight with his life no matter what. It surprised Tamerlane when he heard Guinness even trying to walk him through it a bit and telling him to be careful. He had never even spoken to Guinness before, and yet he seemed like he was actually concerned about Tamerlane and his well-being. It was kind of baffling, but it was nice, so Tamerlane nodded slowly even though Guinness couldn't see it and said "Alrigh'...thanks." before he continued on. At one point, Tamerlane couldn't fight back the feeling that they knew that the Statesmen were there, and he stopped in his tracks and looked around, noticing how everything was so empty and how there were barely any other breathing souls in that area. It was eerie and didn't get past Tamerlane, but he simply focused on the task at hand and stopped again when he caught sight of movement from the corner of his eye. He had a whole new found respect for his little brother and what he did for a living, and even made it a point to try to lighten the mood ever so slightly and point that out to Atticus. "Little brother, I've got a whole new found respect for what ya do. This is some...well, this is some real shit." He kept going like he was supposed, but was also trying to reassure Atticus that it was okay and was going to be just like he had said it would be. They were both there together, and Tamerlane was keeping his promise and listening to what Atticus told him, occasionally checking in with the others to make sure everything was still okay. Whenever it was going to be that Bourne finally made an appearance, things were going to get bad, so Tamerlane was trying to be ready for that.
