Wait…nowwhen you say ‘RememberMe’, do you mean the infamous songfrom Coco?If so and I’m assuming correctly here then WHY LETHIE! Why remind me of demfeels gurl ESPECIALLY with Rosegarden! Now I can’t unsee it. Oh no!

Eventhough my main headcanon is that Oscar will be made complete by the Merge as he isactually the one true Ozma reborn in Modern Remnant, I’m going toentertain this thought that you’re making me conceptualize here. What if…theMerge was indeed a negative thingand it’s something that both Oscar and Ruby dreaded since it spelt that Oscarwill disappear entirely like most theorists are assuming.

Sowhen the Merge happens and Ruby feels as if Oscar---her Oscar---is slipping away, shestarts singing a song. A song that encapsulates all that Ruby and Oscar feelfor each other sharing the same sentiments from ‘Remember Me’. Imagine…anAU where Oscaris secretly a surprisingly good singer andhe even ropes in Weiss to help him write a song he wanted to perform for Ruby. Similarto Coco’s version, Oscar’s song is entitled ‘Remember Me’ andbasically what the meaning behind the song was that no matter what happened inthe Merge, Oscar wanted Ruby to cherish their time together and never forgetthe moments they shared. And above all else, Oscar wanted Ruby to know he loved her morethan anything and that he didn’twant her to forget that; even if he does. 

Sowhen Oscar starts drifting away and is almost completely gone---Ruby startssinging the song he wrote for her in hopes that it would guide him back. Back to her.She sings it similar to how Miguel performed it for Mama Coco in hopes that she would remember her father Hector.And just like Mama Coco, Ruby’s song doesn’t work at first and when thishappens, Ruby’s singing dissolves into tearful sobbing as she hugged Oscar orat least the empty husk that represented all that was left of him. Just a bodywithout a soul that harboured little essence of the boy she fell in love with.

Butto Ruby’s surprise, Oscar stands singing the song. It’s slow at first catchingRuby off guard. She even thought she might’ve misheard. But as she stared intoOscar’s eyes, his singing picked up rhythm and his recital of the lyrics becamemore clear. And with it, his memories and love for her that shined through hishazel eyes.

Ruby’sprayers had been answered. Even in the void, Oscar had remembered her and likea beacon in the darkness, her love for him and the song that symbolized thatunyielding love returned him to her. That’s what I got :D Hope that’s answeryou were hoping for m’dear.

okay but lets say that salem is controlling oscar's mind, does that mean that she's making he reach for the relic ? or is he trying to reach for ruby like, asking for help ? or both ?

Y’know I think you already hit the nail on the headthere. I think it could be a combination of all three of those things. I thinkin this particular scene from the trailer, Salem might be attempting to grab atthe Relic throughOscar. As I made mention of in my views on the V6 trailer,it was established since V4 that there might be a link between Oscar and Salem via Ozpin. When wewere first introduced to Oscar, he was seen waking up distraught from anightmare where he dreamt Salem firstlyspeaking to the members of her Inner Circle.

I even made the parallel between Oscar/Ozpin andSalem to Voldemort and Harry Potter. So perhaps Oscar is linked to Salembecause Ozpin is linked to Salem.

But because Ozpin was weakened from his battle withHaven, Salem is using that her advantage and is now trying to…I dunno utilizethis twisted link between her and Oscar to force him to steal the Relic forher.

If taken into context, these three shots could betaken from the same scene as we see Salem reaching for the Relic as Oscar fallsto the ground, probably trying his best to restrain her from using him to grabthe Relic. This could explain the group’s mixed feelings of apprehension.

Speaking of which, I think there may come a timeduring V6 when Qrow gets separated from everyone now and it’ll be just RWBY and Oscaralone. At this point, tensions will be at its highest and it isestablished in the aggravated expression on Yang’s face towards Oscar reachingfor the Relic.

I think V6 will start off with the group beingtogether happily excited for the voyage towards Argus or Atlas. But then, oneby one, they’ll get separated or left behind somehow. First to besacrificed are JNR---probablyat the same point in the story where the heroes meet Maz Kataraover here. I’m gonna call her that til we get an official name for her. 

Next will be Qrow until allthe team will have left is Oscar. It’ll be just Team RWBY and Oscar aloneagainst the winter wonderland just as the V6 poster art established. 

To all the FNDM fam wondering where are Team JNR and Qrow in the V6 official volume poster? There’s your reason. They’ll all be left behind at some point during V6. Not killed off. Just unfortunately abandoned so that Team RWBY and Oscar could keep moving forward.

According to Miles at NYCC, V6 will be about ‘keep movingforward’ right? What I’m taking fromthis is that there may come times during the season where the group will haveno choice but to do just that--- keep moving towards Atlas, even if it meant beingforced to abandon certain friends. I think shit will go down and RWBY will beforced to just keep moving, even it means just the four main girls and Oscarbeing the sole survivors to deliver the Relic and make it all the way to Atlas.

That’s my impression.

But back to talking about Oscar, I think Salem willtry to straight up Voldemort her way into forcing Oscar to take theRelic. If this is the case then it definitely brings to light something VERY interesting regarding Salem and Ozpin. The two are linked!

Not just mentally but…in away that Salem could even control Oscar/Ozpin if she could. Now that isinteresting to note.

It’s either that or my second hunch where…Oscar is being affected by the Relic of Knowledge itself. I made a post early with my observation thatthe Relic of Knowledge appears smaller somehow. What if…and this is a huge IF…Oscarhas subconsciously draining the energy from the Relic of Knowledge due to Saleminfluencing him.

Or…perhaps since theRelics were made through the power of the Gods, it has a negative effect on Oscar, through Ozpin who was cursed by the Gods.

If Salem isn’t controlling Oscar here then my nextimpression is that Oscar is having a Smeagol momentwith Relic of Knowledge where he wants it…like he’saddicted to whatever power is inside of it. To all the folkswho made jokes about the substance inside the Relic of Knowledge resemblingcrystal meth, perhaps they were unintentionally onto something.

Perhaps…the Relics have negative effects on magical beingslike Ozpin and Salem. What if… it corrupts them in some way. What if…Ozpindidn’t just build the schools to keep the Relics away from Salem but also fromhimself out of fear that he too may become obsessed with obtaining the Gods’ Power?

Maybe that’s why the Relics are kept inside ofthose artifacts like a lamp or a sword. They’re a sort of protective guard tokeep people from getting corrupted. People like Ozpin.

That’s another way tolook at it.
