Looking for a penpal!

Hello lovely people! 

I’m Megan and I’m looking for an open minded person (or persons!) between the ages of 18-35 to start snail mailing with. I have had a few penpals over the years but they always seem to just dwindle away, so I’m looking for someone who will write with me long term even if we don’t write for a while always have an eventually reply.

So a little about me: 

I’m 21, and a gemini for all who like that sort of thing. 

I’m a biomedical science student.

I am from the UK, but currently living in Spain for University. 

I speak English (my native language), a little german and am learning Spanish. So I’d ideally like a penpal who I can practice my Spanish with!

I love travelling and learning about and being immersed in new cultures. I love being out in nature and exploring the planet, sitting and indulging in all it’s wonders.

I’m a huge foodie, I’ve been vegan for a long time, but am pretty flexible nowadays when I’m travelling. 

I love tea. 

I would consider myself a creative person; with interests in all kinds of art and design. I would love a penpal whom I can exchange small drawings or pieces of art and photography with. 

I collect postcards and small trinkets; maybe we can exchange little things we find too.

A bunch of 6 year olds sent me the most precious drawings as a part of my snail mail project. There were houses with sloping roofs, flying birds, happy suns and lots of children and trees in them. Drawings that we are all familiar with, mark making of an early childhood. Iam thankful to their teacher for sending me these innocent drawings. In return, I take elements from their artwork and recreate the compositions. So they find familiarity. An emotion so vital for children. I hope they like them. Back to #letterexchange calligraphy post. This is such a slow-progress on the very late #dreaminginscript #engrosser exchange. But i finally done it! I’ll be shipping it out this week. Thank you for being patient, calligrafriends. 😭😭😭 —- Anyway, amazing tips from Younghae @logos_calligraphy on adding flowers flourish on off-centered letter address. I ended up writing them all off-centered, hahaha. There are several ways i add the flourish, which is fun to explore. This is a letter which got lost somewhere for ten months and was eventually found and given to me a few days ago. So this one quite special. Priyanka writes to me from a holiday she is taking, from the beautiful coffee estate in Chikmanglur. She passionately describes her beautiful surroundings and yearns to live in the wilderness.

I draw for her a woman in thought, a woman in a contemplative mood, a woman who is aware of her surroundings, a woman who is trying to find a meaning of her existence, A woman like herself!

A letter about a dream.

Dinah, an artist from Pasadena writes to me about a dream she has. A dream to visit India and see the Taj for real. Last year her family lost everything their home, possessions, everything. She was struck with a medical condition but they’re doing much better now and I am so happy that her dream still lives.

I draw an image of her cradling her dream on the backdrop of a poem she wrote for me called “An athlete dying young” by A E Housman.
