Urobian Lore: Planet Overview and Nature Wyrms

Urobia is the name of the main planet in my setting. It's a world made from the still "living" bodies of five elemental dragons. The Fire Salonix became the core, the Earth Behemoth became the land, the Water Leviathan became the Seas, the Air Phintoatl became the Skies, and the LightDark Lumbrax became the sphere of heaven. The setting is geocentric, with the other celestial bodies being the eyes of the Lumbrax.

The world has one main continent, and many smaller "islands." The world is significantly larger than Earth, however, so many of these islands are still Greenland sized.

On Urobia, every aspect of nature is alive, in the sense that every aspect of nature is conscious and has a soul. The vast majority of these, with a few exceptions not really worth mentioning, are Nature Wyrms: dragons that are the aspects of nature they represent.

A Nature Wyrm has three forms: An elemental dragon, a "normal" dragon, and the landmark or phenomenon itself. To give an example, we'll look at an island.

The Nature Wyrm of this hypothetical island could appear as a wingless, armored dragon made entirely of stone, with moss growing on its hide and ferns growing from the cracks between its earthen scales.

It could also assume the form of a dragon with the same general build, but this time seemingly to be made of flesh and bone. In this form the Nature Wyrm would have a draconce (dragon gem) on its forehead, usually made of the same material as its elemental form (in this case mossy stone).

These two forms would exist independent of the island. One could walk on the island and meet one of these incarnations also living on the surface. Such is not the case with the third form. In this case, the island itself grows limbs and a head, breaks free from the ocean floor, and moves away.

(nearly) Every aspect of nature has an associated Nature Wyrm, and it can be difficult to figure out where one ends and another begins. The Nature Wyrms themselves aren't even sure about it.

How active a Nature Wyrm is can depend on the individual. Some are very active, and interact with those around them often, while others tend to "sleep" more often than not.

The main focus of my story and worldbuilding are dragons, with an assumption my lore makes is that 1) Draconity is equal to cosmic wholeness, and this wholeness is good. The fact that everything isn't connected to draconity is due to this iteration of reality being damaged. and 2) That dragons, all dragons, are gods.

Gods need not be Supremely Powerful, rather a god is a being with an inherent connection and control over some aspect of reality. The spirit of a boulder or well is just as much a god as the personification of Chaos, just a much weaker one. Think dryad vs Zeus.

The Phintoatl was inspired by Amphipteres and Coatls, originally this species was supposed to be ancestral to/the combined species of flying/wind snakes before it became a primordial dragon.

Salonix, likewise, were Salamanders and Phoenixes, before becoming their own thing.

Lumbrax were created much later, when I needed a LightDark counterpart to the others. It was inspired by Worms and Arthropods, because by this point of my lore I had decided that each of the Urobian Orms was the supernatural ancestor of one of the five groups of animals (Lumbrax: Invertebrates; Leviathan: Fish; Phintoatl: Reptiles and Amphibians; Behemoth: Mammals; Salonix: Birds).

Draconic Energies

*Disclaimer: Some terms and classifications may be subject to change.

Draconic Energies are defined as any energy which is, in some way, whole. In the current Cycle of Tamut, energies have been improperly made, resulting in only two energies being fully Draconic. Many more energies aren’t Draconic at all, and yet some still are what have been dubbed Quasi Draconic, being in some way whole without being perfectly whole.

Draconic Energies in the Cycle of Tamut are divided into different categories, some of which can overlap. They are:

Pure and Quasi: Pure Draconic Energies are perfectly whole while Quasi Draconic Energies are imperfect in their wholeness.

Composite and Primary: Composite Draconic Energies are made up of a combination of other energies, while Primary Draconic Energies exist all on their own, without the input of other energies.

Greater and Lesser: Greater Draconic Energies are capable of creating Dragons without the influence of Eitr or Arkhe, while Lesser Draconic Energies are not.

Pure Draconic Energies

There are two Pure Draconic Energies, identical in form and function though not in source. The first is Essential Arkhe, coming directly from Tamut the Essence. The second is Urobian Eitr, the energy of Ouroborus, the First Dragon.

Quasi Draconic Energies

All other Draconic Energies are classified as Quasi Draconic Energies, meaning that while they are in some ways whole, they are not perfectly whole. Quasi Draconic Energies are:

Living Atter

Kaiju Radiation (possibly more accurately described as a subtype of Atter)

Cosmic Mana

Imagination/Belief

Discordant Dissonance

Faerie Glamour

Lanced Animys

Death

Divinity

Composite Draconic Energies

These energies are made up of others, rather than having a pure source. Composite Draconic Energies are:

Divinity: Made up of Essential Arkhe/Urobian Eitr, Cosmic Mana, and Imagination/Belief.

Kaiju Radiation: Made up of Urobian Eitr and Living Atter.

Living Atter: Has both a Pure Form as well as a Composite Form. The Composite Form is made up of the Elements of Nature (Water, Air, Earth, Fire, and LightDark) combined with either Cosmic Mana or Essential Arkhe/Urobian Eitr. When made with Cosmic Mana it is known as Lesser Atter, when made with Arkhe or Eitr it is known as Greater Atter.

Faerie Glamor: Made up of Living Atter and Imagination/Belief. Like Atter, it has a Lesser and Greater form.
