HPSS Liveblog: Chapter 11 Quidditch

I really like the description of the change of seasons and the Winter coming, fits with the seasons now irl.

Yay, the first quidditch game!

Harry didn't know which was worse-people telling him he'd be brilliant or people telling him they'd be running around underneath him holding a mattress. I think it helps Harry grow up to be a great person that he gets both sides!

Aw @ Hermione helping him out with his homework and also lending him Quidditch Through the Ages. We also see she’s become a bit more relaxed, I think Hermione’s a really great friend in this chapter.

Quidditch is a really dangerous game! I haven’t read Quidditch Through the Ages in ages. But I mean think about how many times Harry WILL almost die from quidditch in the series. Okay, maybe not that many but at least a few bad injuries right....the one with the cursed broom in SS, the bludger in CoS, the dementors in PoA.

Why does Snape take his book, just to be mean? Come on Snape!

Harry it’s probably not a good idea to try and look in a teacher’s office without them in there!

And....oh suspicious Snape and Filch convo which adds to the mystery of the book and the 3rd floor corridor!

"No -- he wouldn't, she said. "I know he's not very nice, but he wouldn't try and steal something Dumbledore was keeping safe." They make fun of her but she’s right. Except he probably WOULD in certain circumstances, but not in this one.

"Honestly, Hermione, you think all teachers are saints or something," They have a few awful teachers to come.

Aw motherly baby!Hermione trying to get him to eat.

Potter for President is this different in the UK version? There’s not a president in the UK right? Or president of the class? How does this work?

But also aww at them all being Good Friends.

Dean, who was good at drawing, had done a large Gryffindor lion underneath. And so fandom decided Dean was an Artist, haha.

"And women," said Chaser Angelina Johnson. COME ON WOOD women’s equality!

"We know Oliver's speech by heart," Fred told Harry, "we were on the team last year." I always loved that line!

"Now, I want a nice fair game, all of you," Yeah right.

They are SO sure it’s Snape, Hermione even changed her mind really quickly from like 2 paragraphs ago.

Weasleys flew up to try and pull Harry safely onto one of their brooms, Aw they tried!

And I mean Hermione’s spell worked so 9 year old me is like, “OBVIOUSLY ITS SNAPE THEN”

Neville had been sobbing into Hagrid's jacket for the last five minutes. Neville BABE! Someone call his grandma!

IN HIS MOUTH. BADASS HARRY.

It’s weird how even though Slytherin scored so many times, Gryffindor still won by THAT much. I feel like the Snitch has an inordinate amount of control over who’s winning the game. See: Book 4.

We learn Fluffy’s name. Oh, Hagrid.

"I don' know why Harry's broom acted like that, but Snape wouldn' try an' kill a student!” Again, he’s right, but he’s probably wrong to trust Snape so much.
