A little while ago my nibling achieved their GCSE results and did rather well, so I drew them a frog, because they like frogs, I froggin love them, and they are toadally awesome.

As they have now received the card that said frog is drawn upon I can now share the image with the world and lo! So I am doing.

I'm probably really late but I saw ur frogs and they were so cute and also reminded me of when I started playing yugioh like half a year ago one of the decks I'd like to use was one that was like half based around frogs and there was this Really Cool Frog you'd summon that was called Toadally Awesome and it was just like... a frog with another frog on top of it.

Ah, okay.  Toadally Awesome was after my time, so I’ve never actually used it.  And I don’t think I ever used Treeborn either.  My focus was always Unifrog and Submarine Frog, with Wetlands, Level Limit Area B, and Gravity Bind.  Mirror Force was banned, but the Froggy version wasn’t, so that was a big part of it too.  I’d have to break out the deck and look at everything, but I’m pretty sure it was Dupe Frog that blocked people from attacking anything but it?  There was some kind of shenanigans, but the point was, direct damage and pierce damage while the foe was locked down because so many things were 4*.  But then the stupid XYZ stuff started happening and it’s like “Actually these are ranks, not levels, so I can hit you anyway,” and the entire thing just collapsed.  My main after that Fortune Ladies, who I still really enjoy but aren’t exactly great.  And I wound up settling on Madolche, which are fantastic and ridiculous and I love them.  The other I really enjoyed was Ghostrick, and I think there was one I built around Wights that wasn’t like...super consistent, but was really, really funny.

Nintendo Posters VOL. M

Welp, these things had been done for a few months now, and I'm just now sharing them with Tumblr! #lazysloth

Anyway here are my concept posters for the upcoming animated Super Mario movie.

I originally started working on these shortly after posting the last batch of Nintendo film posters to the blog. If you recall, the original poster that I made for the Super Mario movie was extremely simple; a red hat on a white background with the release window. Compared to the other five posters, particularly the Starfox one and the Smash Bros one, it didn't look like much effort was put into making it. So, since there actually IS an animated Mario movie out on the horizon, I decided to expand on the subject a little more than I already had.

So, instead of making one poster, I made six! One 'final' poster, and five individual 'teaser' posters.

The 5 'teaser' posters are all set up in the same way; One Mario character standing inside of a large ? Block. I tried to make it look like each character is emerging from the block in the same manner as items like mushrooms do when they are hit from below.

Each character has their own unique background color and tagline. While I'm not particularly fond of peach's tagline, I do really like how the other 4 came out. Especially toad's tagline! It's TOADALLY awesome! YA GET IT? TOAD-ALLY! AH-HA-HA-HA-HAAAAAA!!!!

The 'final' poster, on the other hand, is probably one of the more complex designs that I have come up with. I took heavy inspiration from some of the posters for 2018's Ocean's 8. Look them up, and you will see somewhat of a resemblance.

I divided this poster into 5 segments of equal size. Each segment contains the following;

a. a different and unique color,

b. a fragment of the ? block symbol. Put them all together, and you get 1 whole picture (It was actually a huge hassle to get those placed just right), and...

c. one of the five Mario characters that were featured in the teaser posters. I've strategically placed them in a way that makes them look like they are coming out from behind the segment that is in front of them. That way, the poster illustrates an illusion of 3d space/depth.

In case you haven't already noticed, all six posters feature a realistic looking Movie Title that I pretty much made from scratch. It's the one thing that all of these posters share, and I am very happy with how it came out

Overall, it ain't bad for something made entirely in Microsoft Word! After a couple months in development, hopefully it will have been worth the wait. #rippingoffagabennewallquote. Enjoy the posters and I'll catch you in the next big post!

Although nowadays most Decks will focus in an archetype, that doesn't stop them from mixing things up even if they might lose some interactions in the process. Various cards will obviously reach peak performance if they play with all the cards they can play arround with, but they might provide some uses in other Decks that makes it worth missing its main uses in their main archetype. Usually losing effects arround their core theme, these cards can be as powerful in mixed themes thanks to the alternative options we can provide them with.

"Toadally Awesome" is one of the few offenses the Frog archetype can work along with, yet gained a huge reputation in all sorts of Decks due its many effects and the consequences that will produce. The materials attached on "Toadally Awesome" will be using during our Standby Phases to summon a Frog from our Deck, keeping the theme of the archetype to provide cheap monsters for any purpose we can work along with. But the Xyz Monster gained a bigger reputation by its second effect to let us dispose an Aqua monster from our hand or field to negate a card's effect and destroying its source, for afterwards let us Set said card to our field in return. Finally, "Toadally Awesome" will let us retrieve a WATER monster from the Graveyard back to our hand once itself is sent there, compensating its defeat or even using this same monster for its negation effect. In resume, while "Toadally Awesome" clearly has a purpose arround the Frog archetype, it became a staple choice in several Extra Decks with a negation effect that is able to steal opponent cards in the process.

With only requiring Aqua monsters for its Xyz Summon, "Toadally Awesome" easily fits in all sorts of builds inside and outside the Frog archetype. Frogs are quite known for their mechanics to gather materials pretty quickly, easily achieved by members like "Ronintoadin" and "Swap Frog" right from early game. A similar strategy is arround Nimble monsters, often sharing the same Deck along Frogs as monsters like "Nimble Angler" quickly swarm the field with monsters to Xyz Summon with. Another archetype easy to work arround "Toadally Awesome" is Paleozoic, a group of Trap Cards that become Level 2 monsters upon activation. However, since its materials are exclusive to play arround Frogs some Decks will try to take shortcuts to summon "Toadally Awesome", like "Bahamut Shark" if we play it along a proper Link Monster or the defeat of "Metaltron XII, the True Dracombatant".

While still keeps a WATER theme to work arround its effects, "Toadally Awesome" is more than prepared to use its negation effect inside and outside the Frog archetype. Obviously its very own effect will provide with monsters ready to use on its negation effect, as otherwise the Frogs that we will summon with its help will be used as materials for other Extra Deck creatures. Many WATER Decks are more than prepared to recycle and/or retrieve its creatures, ranging from "Salvage" to "Aquaactress Tetra" refilling our hand in some way or another. Some of the monsters we can use to negate cards will even benefit in the process, ranging from various revival effects such as "Abyss-Squall" swarming the field with Mermails, to using the disposed monsters to bring out monsters like "Aqua Spirit". Obviously "Toadally Awesome" itself can be used as cost of its own ability, not only negating a card but also triggering its effect to recover a WATER monster. As we get benefits arround this Xyz Monster in some way or another we cannot forget the ability to steal the negated card to our side of the field, and while in many cases we won't have any uses to certain Traps and Spells we still have a good opportunity to take control of an opponent's monster (As long is not a monster with a restricted summon, or a Link Monster as they cannot be Set).

With a cheap Xyz Summon and several interactions outside and inside the Frog archetype, "Toadally Awesome" has more than enough reasons of being a Rank 2 staple in many Decks can work with it. Its negation effect not only can counter key cards, but also have sinergy with various Aqua monsters and effects as well the possiblity to take way that card from the opponent's. And while in most cases we will try to steal a monster as long it is possible to do so, nothing stop us from taking away key cards in case the opponent might be able to retrieve or reuse them. The negation of "Toadally Awesome" might seem quite expensive at first, but since the Xyz Monster itself can be used as cost not only we will be always ready to negate an opponent's card but also trigger its Graveyard effect to retrieve a WATER monster in the process. If anything "Toadally Awesome" average stats makes it a very easy target to defeat in battle, so the opponent can keep their resources at bay as they bring out a monster strong enough to take down this creature. But overall, from a very easy arrival to all kinds of opportunities and sinergy arround its effects, "Toadally Awesome" is a threatening creature with the possibility to either counter big plays or even steal monsters to our field.

So for my birthday my brother got me a laptop. Its the most technologically advanced item I own probably. I wanted to type out a nice post from my new laptop but something didn't work right i guess. Still figuring out.

But its so smooth and light. Its nothing like my old chunky laptop that weighed probably like 5 pounds. Getting it set up isn't hard and I already made my background toadally awesome so I'm in the right direction.

Yu Gi Oh OC - Ran Pyr

Name: Ran Pyr

Personality: Ran is an energetic and enthusiastic duelist with a flair for the dramatic. While he isn’t the most skilled or intelligent and tends to largely come across as a joke to his opponents, he can be a surprisingly lethal duelist. Despite his lack of skill he’s eagre to learn and improve. He does this by latching onto more talented and observing them. Because of this he looks up to and admire stronger duelists, such as pros or his friends.

Ran tends to be scrappy, always eagre to duel and often picking fights with people, even if they aren’t really up for it. Despite this, he’s actually rather lacking in self confidence, believing himself inferior to others and always feeling a need to prove himself and be useful. Another flaw of his is being very easily influenced, especially by those he respects and looks up to.

Backstory: Ran is one of two heirs to the Pyr family legacy along with his brother Aiden. The Pyr family is a long running series of fire using duelists, with various traditions being passed down along with the type of deck they use. However Ran wasn’t very good with these traditions, while his brother excelled he found himself near incapable of using any of the fire decks suggested to him. Because of his inability to live up to his family legacy, he grew uncertain of himself and lost confidence. In private though he began to toy around with decks, eventually discovering a love for a deck based on his favourite animals, frogs. After adopting this deck and taking it on as a large part of his identity, he ran away from home, feeling like he had betrayed his family name. There he became a street duelist, always looking for a new opponent and more talented duelists he can look up to.

Strategy: Ran’s deck is largely based around his love of ridiculously high attack. His deck is absolutely loaded with cards that increase water monster’s attack. Aside from this, using his frogs to make Rank 2s (Mostly Toadally Awesome) as well as getting out three Des Frogs (Or Ronintoadins and Dupe Frogs) to wipe the enemies’ fields with Des Croaking and then fusing them from for D.3.S Frog. 

After befriending another water user, a girl who uses sharks, Ran gains the card Cat Shark, that he uses to double Toadally Awesome’s attack to 4400. This becomes one of his main strategies from that point on.

Other things he does include: Using Aquarium Stage to keep prevent his frogs from being destroyed, using Moray of Greed for draws, using Rage of the Deep Sea as a strong attacker once he has a bunch of water monsters in the graveyard and Flip Flop Frog to bounce a multitude of cards to his opponent’s hands.

they were once a pretty alright r4nk deck, but as time went on, Konami showed they hated 4nk more and more.

Exciton Knight was one of the best ranks 4 and a universal nuke even non Evilswarm decks loved, but he got hit. then Shock Master died, one of the best Rank 4s in the game period that can shut down entire decks, and then losing Lavaval Chain meant no more setting up DAD in 1-2 turns. we can’t make any other really memey rank 4s like Bahamut Shark to make Toadally Awesome

Dangers were hit unsurprisingly.

ABC Dragon was hit before it had a chance to do anything.

Toadally Awesome is brought down to one which hits the chance of that deck doing fun stuff.

Zoodiac Drident has been unbanned and is at 1. The cost of the banning was Zoodiac Barrage being brought to 1 making Zoodiacs much less splashable.

Also Instant Fusion is at one which is huge but I havent seen a lot of people talking about it.

The Semi-limited list only really needs to exist for cards like Malicious. If it was limited they effectively banned it. Semi-Limiting just hits its consistency.

Alright, TCG Banlist

It doesn't hit quite as hard as the OCG one but there are some interesting ones

Steam Cloak and Glow-Up Bulb ban is unsurprising.

I'm not sure many people thought Destrudo would be hit.

I don't know much about Spyrals, but I've heard people talking on how well Spyrals may or may not be after Master Plan's banning.

I don't think Lunalight Tiger was on a lot of people's banlists but I'm kinda glad its gone.
