ngl it really irks me when people say that comic books are “for kids” because comics are literally just a medium with which you can tell a story. the general public’s perception of comic books today is like 90% superhero comics but there are tons and tons of different types of stories being told through the medium of comics (and even in the superhero genre) that i would not even begin to describe as “for kids”. one form of media is no more inherently “for kids” than any other, they’re just different ways of telling a story.

#comics #you are allowed to dislike superhero comics/superhero comic book films without making blanket statements about a whole form of media lol #comics 🤝 animation: being incorrectly considered things that only kids can enjoy #like… maus. fun home. saga. fax from sarajevo etc etc #there are plenty of ‘grown up’ comic books out there telling important stories if you bother to look #also ‘for kids’ is always used in a negative way but like children’s media can be complex and nuanced too lmao #mine
