#linuess is a hot mess when amelia gets there

i'm pretty sure this was one of those posts i wrote up but then never posted (i do that a lot you'd be surprise, im trying to do it less). and this is going to be the spark notes version of the events that take place really. however while amelia's claim to linuess is legit as she is named one of two heirs, there was a certain number of lords who just conveniently "forgot" to relay that information to amelia and also her father. hoping that they would just never find out. they do of course, but at that point amelia is 18ish (im a little fuzzy on the exact timeline it's a wip) anyways there is a semi queen making plot that is done on amelia's behalf. something she does not ask for btw, she also doesn't know all the details of what was done in said plot (she does eventually but that's another post). but it's a mixed group of people who genuinely want change from how things are currently done and others who think amelia would be easier to control than the other and wildly more popular lords not to say she undermines or like unravels all the work that had been done, but more makes the whole plot rather irrelevant as after having two conversations with her, aymeric steps down as heir leaving amelia being the one to inherit the crown. he very clearly can see that she is far more suited to be the leader linuess needs, and he really didn't want to be king anyways. this pisses a lot of powerful men off, and a good number of them think they can control her in some form or fashion. but amelia very quickly puts them in their places and has none of their nonsense. it's honestly beautiful
