( henry zaga , 26 , he/him , cis man , ambrozy 5/advisor to the lichtenstein queen ) - have you seen LORD LÁZSLÓ-CELESTINE AMBROŻY?  we’ve heard through the grapevine that they’re DEVOTED but also CRITICAL. when you think of them , you think of ANOTHER DAY OF PRETENDING YOUR MATURITY, THE CRUMBLING WALLS OF A FAMILY PALACE LEFT UNTENDED, WEALTH UNIMAGINABLE AND NOWHERE FOR IT TO GO, SCULPTING DUST WITH A SMILEY FACE DRAWN WITHIN.
name; lázsló-celestine, after his mother celeste && after a good friend of his father's.
nicknames; lassie, laz/las, l.c. (only by his family)
birth date; september 13th, 1774, a virgo.
orientation; bisexual/biromantic. slight preference towards men.
relationship; single, a bit emotionally distant.
politics; very heavily involved in the success of hungary && litchenstein, is in favor of france, and has a hate for the hre that goes beyond most. likes peaceful options.
religion; catholic.
languages; tba.
interests: sculpting, sketching, some painting, debate, history, horse-riding, swimming, being a nude model for painters, talking about theoretics, running, drama/theater, animals.
headcanons && backstory.
his father is (was?) a legend in all of europe, and lassie, his devout follower. count rudolf was a hedonist painter in life, and a caring, self-expressive father to his children. lassie was as captivated with their elegant life as anyone could be; he loved the traveling, the fame, the glory, and it wasn't like the money was hard to enjoy, too. though Hungarian by birth, he considers himself a little piece of everywhere he has ever been. his loyalty is not to his country, necessarily, but those he loves. after attending university for the majority of his early 20s, it was until a year ago that he finally returned home. his beloved father had gone missing; and while at first, no one found this odd... when he did not come for months, panic began. eventually the family, once close, turned to fighting among one another for who controlled the massive wealth, many properties && assets, that belonged to the count. no one could prove his death nor life, and there was sides to be taken. some wanted to continue waiting && searching, but others were jealousy, and greedy, wanting their slice of the pie now. lassie, unlike his elder siblings, never found any fame in his own artistic abilities. instead, he was academic, and a little bit of a hopeless romantic, he was idealist, and over-the-top, he dreamt, and he hoped, and he struggled to fit into any one mold. he was a fierce lover, a protector (when he could be), and always a diplomat. now he has just recently arrived to france under the employment of the new Lichtenstein royals. queen gizella had been his friend for years, long into their childhood, and he had the management skills that could hopefully be of use to the new establish monarchy, and the family skills to handle the schellenberg drama.

Day 2
After a quick breakfast at the hotel I made my way out for the day passing Monument to the Great Fire of London and the Tower of London on the way to Tower Bridge. It was a bit drizzly this morning but not too cold and slightly quieter on the street than yesterday morning. Walking over the bridge was a bit windier than the rest of the walk, but going down The Queens Walk past HMS Belfast and under London bridge was more covered and a lovely walk down to the Tate.
After not getting to the Tate last time I was here it was great to get here finally. The main exhibitions I might get to when I’m back in London so I focused my time on the permanent galleries, stopping in for a coffee on level 10 with a lovely view over the Thames and the city between galleries. I especially liked seeing Litchenstein’s ‘whaam’ and in another room a series of ‘reflections on…’ where he reuses his own works with a painted glass lens over them, obscuring parts of the piece as if from a reflection. And who doesn’t love seeing a Duchamp urinal.
Then it was off to The Globe for Much Ado About Nothing. At the beginning of the performance an announcement was made that the actress playing Hero was ill and as they don’t have understudies, another performer has been called to read in. This was just so much fun. Standing, well… leaning, as a groundling is always different and being outside with a bit of rain here and there just added to the experience. The performance was lovely and interspersed with music, a great cast who played off the audience so well, with a special heckle from a young child when one of the actors was called ‘an ass’
After walking back to the hotel I remembered that Long Days Journey Into Night was at 7pm, not 7:30. So I quickly got ready and headed back out to the Wyndhams Theatre. Sitting in the front row for possibly one of the best performances I have seen in a long time was just amazing. The nuance and reactiveness from all five actors was astounding to see. It is such a deeply moving and upsetting piece of theatre, when a cast of that caliber is performing it is pure magic. Brian Cox and Patricia Clarkson were just so good in these roles.

you could electrically shock them and then the stretch marks and litchenstein scars would be matching but different colours
fat whumpees
whumpees who aren't the skinniest little toothpicks alive
whumpees with flab
whumpees with thick thighs
whumpees with more fat than muscle
whumpees who lose weight while being whumped but then gain it back in recovery and it's seen as a completely good thing
we just need more whumpees that don't have the standard, typical, cliche "ideal" body type that society pushes onto us. because whumpees can come in many shapes and sizes.
i will never shut up about this because i hate the idea that people can only be helpless and deserving of rescue and victims and all that if they're skinny and little and tiny.

Screen printing 26/02/24
Today I began working on the screen print design I made last week. This involved photocopying my drawing onto the stencil paper and then planning each layer.
Tumblr media
This is my finished plan, I decided to make the hair longer in order to make the layers work more seamlessly. Taking inspiration from Litchenstein, I decided to use bright eye catching colours that were also kind of garish in order to capture almost a feeling had nausea that comes with change. I wanted the lettering to be similar to warning signs and capture a feeling of chaos.
I began printing and got the first layer completed.

" well, we find ourselves evenly matched then, on that field. " eyebrows rose with the words, soft in their delivery, for neither of them had expected to find themselves in positions they now held. " and in any sense, at least you are not alone in feeling that way. i cannot speak for all the newly promoted kingdom placeholder's, but... know this, there is plenty of nerves shared by all. " he spoke discreetly of his own country of interest, now employed to litchenstein, but also... in the regards of loss, in general. with lassie's own father missing, he understood now more than ever just a snippet of othello's pain. and the desire to hide from the subject of it, so he said nothing else on the idea. a laugh followed his blunder, and lassie was struck at how familiar the scene was, despite the years && tragedy between them now. almost like young teens again, poking fun && testing limits between art sessions. " it's a newer hobby. i picked it up at oxford. " a shrug, and lassie busied himself gathering his charcoal stubs, his looseleaf parchment, back into their home satchel. then, eyes darted playfully to othello, and lassie could only hope the shade of pink would not rise yet again to his cheeks. oh, how easily he could change color, it would always be a source of his pain, truly. " now, listen here, i thought i was the model between us? " - referencing to an old session of his father's, using lassie as a model for the portrait lesson. maybe othello wouldn't remember; lassie wouldn't blame him.
Tumblr media
othello cannot help but snort in response to lassie's observation about kings — a title that he still feels is so unbefitting of him. " unfortunately, i am still in training, on that front. " his eyes turn back down to the portrait in his hands, inspecting it as lassie rambles on about what he sees wrong with it. laughter bubbles up from otto's chest, followed a quiet, hoarse cough — a constant annoyance as a result of his damaged lungs. " i quite like my nose. the one you've drawn, i mean. " he glances up again, a coy smile on his face at the sight of the slight flush to the brunette's cheeks & the flattery made evident upon his features. he wears it well. " sculpture, hm? i have never met a sculptor before. " he sets the portrait down in his lap, leaning back on his palms once more & eyeing the other curiously. " i wouldn't be opposed to having my likeness preserved in soap. or is this you saying you wouldn't want me as a model? " the coy, playful smile returns, his head tilting in a half-hearted taunt.

Artist research: Andy Warhol
Next I began to look at artists that would inform my screen print. I was particularly drawn to Andy Warhol’s Marilyn screen prints for their vibrant colours and Pop art style.

Artist research: Roy Litchenstein
Another pop artist who has informed my work is Roy Litchenstein. Inspired by the comic strip, Lichtenstein produced precise compositions that documented while they parodied, often in a tongue-in-cheek manner. I am really interested in how expressive his pieces are as well as their composition. I also like how he uses text.

This is a sketch to show the plan for my own screen print. Inspired by my research, I used a reference photo of myself to draw this expressive portrait, highlighting the negative and often disruptive effects that come with change.
