You ever think about the astounding amount of shame Liu Qingge felt after each fight lost to Luo Binghe? How every injury he suffered came furnished with a fresh paint of it. Seeping into his bones, his spirit... But he still uses it to reinforce his resolve to keep trying. Because even beginning to entertain the notion of giving up would submerge him in shame even he wouldn't be able to resurface from.

Liu Qingge

I saved this one for after work just so I could gush

Liu Qingge. My man. My king. My brute of a war god. The icon you are.

He is a perfect example of second male lead syndrome and it's a great addition to all the meta commentary svsss already has. He's painted to be this helpful, devoted character, if a little brutish by Shen Qingqiu. All in all a simple person. Shen Qingqiu sees him as hired muscle to save him from having to fight.

I feel like a large section of the fandom falls for this as well. They see Liu Qingge as kind of stupid and single minded, especially when it comes to Shen Qingqiu. People often see him through Shen Qingqiu's perspective who only sees him through PIDW's perspective which painted him to be the brutish, canon fodder war god. (A reason I'm often not a fan of the fandom's interpretation of liushen but I digress)

I'm not immune to this, btw. A lot of my early characterization of Liu Qingge was very flawed until I started actually studying his character. A lot of my takes are still very flawed even while I'm trying to understand him

I adore Liu Qingge as a character because once you look past the unreliable narrator and look at what he's done he seems so different. He's devoted, yes, but not to a foolish amount. He's not stupid despite what both Shen Qingqius think. He can be thoughtful and intelligent, he's just bad at expressing himself.

Liu Qingge has such an earnest way of sticking to his principles and I love him for that. He's stubborn in his ways but its because he cares so much about doing the right thing

Man if Shen Qingqiu can't appreciate that this man chased him for five years to save his body and then chased him all the way across the demon realm to save him again I will

Shen Qingqiu: Consent is very important! I think consensual non consent is (probably) disgusting and weird! But I also need to pretend I don't want to and that am only giving in because of pressure because I get embarrassed easily. But I'm actually super into it.

Luo Binghe: THIS IS A CONSENT ONLY HOUSEHOLD! WE ONLY DO IT WITH EXPLICIT CONSENT! Which considering Shizun's thin face means waiting for him to hit me with his fan and to tell me to ask again properly. (properly means crying)

Shang Qinghua: consensual non consent is hot in theory and in fics but I'm an old man and prefer just talking about kinky stuff while boning like normal

Mobei Jun: anything but being naked and saying "we will fuck now" does not get through to Qinghua. My only option is explicit consent because otherwise he thinks I mean something else and leaves

Luo Bing-ge: what is consent? I have not experienced it from either direction.

Shen Jiu: I am the only person whose consent matters and I don't. Ever. In fact don't look at me or speak to me or think about me

Yue Qingyuan: consent is for other people. I don't get to. This is fine 🙃

Liu Qingge: it depends if we're talking spars, duels, or fighting for your life. ...What do mean you aren't talking about fighting?

Tianlang-Jun: it's more fun with consent but also characters! Costumes! Is it really worth it without roleplay with a complete backstory and world building?

So I've been reading some svsss fics recently,

One that I've been focusing on is called Butterfly Dreaming by Tiffindale, and omg

This is like my most favoritest thing ever, the author doesn't belittle our brains and they let SJ be the bitchiest bitch there is, honestly I have a type of character I like to read... this is it, I love pissy little cats who are hissing and scratching at the walls of the cardboard box they've been left in.

The trio of this fic has to be the funniest group of personalities I've read about ever, I'll do this often, go back to a fic i enjoyed reading and try to get that feeling back,

Reading these fools try and navigate the world of pidw in their second try is so entertaining, wait I don't think I've actually explained it... SJ and ogSQH regress with the help of our absent mother "The System". She doesn't actually do anything until our boys try to get out of doing the laundry or dishes (progressing the story) and even then it's just to scold them (punishment for trying to ex: kill protag/not fulfill their character roles)

The main ship in the fic is LiuJiu

And imma be honest I'm incredibly here for their slow burn romance.

OK WAIT I JUST HAD AN IDEA HOLD ON

So like, imagine Ning Yingying, Sha Hualing, and Liu Mingyan all become good friends and start hanging out a lot, usually at Mingyan's place, cause she's the only one with relatively normal family members (Ning Yingying has Shen Yuan & Bingge, so...) and they kinda end up imprinting on Liu Qingge to a point where one day he's getting harassed by someone for some reason and he's about to give them a piece of his mind when suddenly his little sister and her friends show up OUT OF FUCKING NOWHERE and give the guy the most visceral, cutting, scathing verbal lashing ever seen in the history of humankind (Ning Yingying learned it from her shizun and passed on the knowledge).

Yeah idk I just thought it would be funny if lqg suddenly had two extra feral meimeis.
