I know we're all caught up and very excited about the first appearance of the Count and his lizard fashion today, but I just want to make a quick note of something I didn't pay attention to at one point but now can't stop thinking about:

I explained all these things to him to the best of my ability, and he certainly left me under the impression that he would have made a wonderful solicitor, for there was nothing that he did not think of or foresee.

The idea of Dracula the lawyer is very scary but also very, very funny.

Possibly because I keep picturing him as like. Phoenix Wright. But a vampire.

Where do we go from here?

//So to end all of this off, I want to quickly explain to you guys what's going to happen from here.

//After some discussion, we've decided that even though this is technically our Christmas anniversary event, we have already pre-written all the fights and will NOT be uploading them until the current arc is finished.

//Unfortunately, due to the pace and the difficulties of life, I cannot confidently say when that will be, but with this being the final battle against Zetsubou, hopefully it won't be too long. The reason why we've decided to do this is for two main reasons.

Last year, I attempted to upload Canzanilla Cafe alongside the main story, and it did not work out well in the end. So I'm going to try and avoid that this time by putting more focus on the current story and saving the bonus arc for afterwards.

Some of the biggest feats of power shown from the characters comes directly from this arc, and while it may be unfair, we only take into account feats that were part of the original Survivor script, and don't put focus on fairly recent and new events if we can help it. That being said, it does contain a lot of character and story spoilers, which we would rather avoid.

//Still, I'm very excited to bring this all to you when we finally DO get around to doing it. And I hope you're all looking forward to it as well.

In the second episode of the anime Stars Align, there is a scene where the character Itsuki Ameno is playing with a lizard he found in the grass. His wiki page lists this as being a gecko, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut...

Well, this is what it looks like:

This isn't a gecko.

Seeing this, I knew I had to do something. So like, half an hour later I came to two conclusions.

This is a skink in the genus Plestiodon. Going off of body shape alone this is clearly a skink, I've seen enough of them on sunny days to find them very easy to distinguish. I say this specific genus because while it is quite widespread across Asia and the Americas, it has several species that are native to Japan, many of which sport line markings similar to the lizard pictured here. However, many of the genuses with these markings have blue tails, and many of them are also listed as being endemic to the Ryukyu Islands (sidenote: afaik Stars Align takes place in Tokyo due to an area the main characters meet at a lot, Rokugo Watergate, being a sewage system or part of a sewage system in Tokyo. There are probably other things mentioning the show's location I'm just not great at noticing things). Unfortunately I couldn't find much information on where every specific species was found, so jury's still out on that one.

Another option is the Japanese grass lizard (Takydromus tachydromoides). While not a skink this lizard has a similar body structure and markings, as well as being a reasonable estimate geographically.

Big disclaimer to end this off on, I'm not a herpetologist, I just know that's not a gecko and I had to do something about it.

anyway i was driving with @little-lizard-big-brain today and we were listening to music as we always do and goddamn we’re so mentally unwell.

And we continued on to say that Miles wanted to write so much more in his note. He wanted to say how much he cared and how sorry he was and that it wasn’t Nick’s fault but he knew it would only hurt him more, so he left it ambiguous and undefined.

then Wisdom by mother mother came on and I said Maya probably listened to them, and Lizard said “yeah, especially after mia’s death” I said she probably has a pillow that she puts a scent mia used to wear on. And how sometimes, it’d get holes and burst seams as all well loved things do, and Nick would mend it for her without telling her

I said Phoenix knows how to sew to fix things, but not how to make them. And Beau looked at me and said “He’s a mender, not a maker.”

we know two of auchi's descendants, they've both gone against phoenix wright before, and they both look EXACTLY like auchi

I'm convinced auchi actually reproduces asexually like lizards because his descendants look like literal clones of him

Perhaps it's a weird family thing?

A couple of announcements

//Got a few things I need to make you all aware of.

1 - Unavailability

//First of all I understand that this is very annoying, and frankly I find it annoying too, but I'm not going to be available to post for the next week as of today. This is because basically every day that I post, I'm preoccupied with some other matter.

//I have a doctors appointment on Friday for long lasting health issues, a wedding to attend on Sunday and Monday, and a funeral on Tuesday. So you probably won't be saying any genuine posts from me until Wednesday next week earliest.

//It's frankly very inconvinient, but these are important matters and I hope you can understand.

2 - Warriors of Other Worlds Release Date

//The second is that the beginning of the Warriors of Other Worlds arc, AKA the Danganronpa X Death Battle crossover that I set up at the end of last year will be dropping on the first day of March.

//I've addressed concerns about running the arc alongside the main story once already, but I believe that unlike the previous examples, we shouldn't have any real problems this time, considering this is very much a side spinoff arc and meant for more fun than anything else.

//Also, all the chapters are already pre-written and prepared, so you don't need to worry about delays or anything of that sort. There are a few things I want to make you all aware of in regards to this special event.

These will be the matchups that you all voted for, and unlike the other arcs, they will be available to read on Tumblr and ALSO Wattpad and AO3.

I did the analysis and created this arc in tandem with two friends of mine in the DB community at university. Let the record say that we are in no way biased towards the Danganronpa characters, and don't intend to give that impression. We personally do not care about the verdict so long as we can make an entertaining display and analysis for you all. But we are a team of three people, so if there are some things we portray incorrectly or get wrong, don't hold it against us. We appreciate constructive feedback given to us calmly and appropriately; but also know that we won't be going back to make changes to the verdicts we've put in place. These are our final says on the matter, and whether you accept that or not is fine and shouldn't matter in the end.

In relation to this, I know how the death battle fandom is and I'm aware that it can be toxic at its worst, so I'm warning you all now that any toxicity will be treated appropriately with a permanent ban from the blog.

I've said this before, but this event is completely unofficial and fan-based. I'm not endorsed by the official Death Battle channel in any way shape or form. I know I don't need to say that, but I will.

//Any other rules that pertain to the event itself will be posted on the day of release. I will be doing regular posts of this event, so I hope you look forward to that.

3 - Clearing the Ask Box

//I haven't quite decided when I will do it, but I have so many asks in the box right now and it's more than I'm physically capable of keeping up with. So pretty soon, I will be clearing the box and starting from scratch.

//So this is just a shoutout that if you have any unanswered asks that date back to a while ago, I won't be overviewing them and if you really want me to answer them, I advise you send them again.

//I will let you guys know when this happens though.

4 - Naegibowl Poll

//The last thing I wanted to talk about briefly is that fairly recently, I made a poll asking the readers of the blog how they would like me to handle the relationship dynamic for Makoto Naegi.

//As things stand, Makoto is under the eye of three different girls; Kyoko, Mukuro and Sayaka, but is already married to one of them; Kyoko.

//People do still like to tease all three for their feelings for him, and I have hinted before, especially recently due to some asks, that the three girls also feel something for each other as well as Makoto, so I put up a poll to ask what I should do with that information: Either leave things as they are and let Makoto have one bride, or go the ploycule route.

//Based on the results, the popular opinion seems to be to give all the girls a happy ending. Which you know what? I'm totally ok with.

//Don't expect anything soon, but I will act upon the results of this poll as soon as I can in the third phase of the story, assuming I actually get there.

//And that's all I have to announce for now. Hope you stay tuned for the updates and look forward to what I have in store.
