Sometime after the battle for Bowerstone Logan and his brother return to the city shops despite his anxieties. It turns out the world is filled with forgiveness, if you know where to look.

Thinking about a scenario where some big evil threatens Albion during Sparrow's reign as queen and she and the other three heroes unite once more to deal with the threat while her son has to be left at home with his little sister. Then the big evil threat comes knocking on their door while Sparrow can't get to them, Walter is knocked down and Logan knows he has to protect his little sister but he doesn't know what to do so he just hugs her and screams and then releases a powerful wave of magic to destroy the enemy.

Basically Logan having Will is on my mind all the time and in this essay I will-

I never want any sort of confirmation on who Logan and the Hero of Brightwall's father is. It's gotta be a Mamma Mia situation for maximum drama. And they need to have different fathers for maximum confusion.

Is it Reaver? Walter? That sexy pistol trader that hangs around the castle sometimes? Sparrow isn't sure. The suspects aren't sure. It's an endless source of gossip for the citizens of Albion.

Bonus if after Sparrow's death they get the occasional grifter coming up to the castle like, "Logan! Prince/Princess! It's me your long lost father."

Logan and Hero of Brightwell being the children of Reaver and Sparrow. But it's not Logan who takes after Reaver the most, oh no. It's HOB.

I do find it kinda funny that if you play as a fem hobw you don't get a ladies maid, you still get Jasper. It implies that Logan just doesn't know enough about other nobility to know that most brothers in his position would have hired a woman to take care of their sisters, not their advisors boyfriend.

I really feel like Sparrow losing 10 years to the Spire irreversibly shaped them going forward, and they really do live life like an ex-convict.

Losing so many people due to coming back home changed, not being able to adjust, and never being able to return to the person you once were are all obvious--but Ex-cons have stated that after getting out of a controlled environment, and returning to a world where they have freedom again, they end up overcompensating.

Atonement for their actions, catching up with the world, indulging in things they longed for in confinement... it feels like a must--an obligation--and we already know that Sparrow has a complicated relationship with duty.

But all those achievements? All the heroics? Taking Albion's future in their hands as a ruler? It's likely an internal struggle to make up for all that was lost (especially if their wish was to save all the other lives the spire took).

But here's the thing... it never feels like enough. They're always going to be weighed down by the guilt, shame, and loss of agency. What time you have left is going to feel so precious, and they can't fuck it up. Life spent in the past is life wasted. They didn't stop moving forward when Rose died, and they didn't stop after losing everything else.

If they "fail", they fall apart... and that's not something they feel they can afford, knowing what it cost them before. So... they keep doing things. Keep building, keep their hands busy, and keep telling them self to live up to every promise they made. It's the only way they know how to live.

They must be the hero Albion needs. They must ensure its future. When Theresa tells them their kid is a part of that legacy, it feels like another obligation.

It's tragic, I think, that they probably never broke out of that mentality.

Random thought and maybe it's born from my mixed-to-negative feelings on Theresa but part of me can't help but wonder if her treatment of Logan wasn't a bit of intentional sabotage. Yes, Albion needed a leader with their heroic abilities fully manifested but there's no reason to assume that couldn't have been Logan. But Logan had something that Theresa didn't want in her pawns. Personhood.

Logan had been raised by Sparrow for years, Theresa's most successful and potentially resentful tool. He traveled worldwide, and Logan had experience, knowledge, and strong personal motives. Those traits made Logan capable and also a lot harder to control.

Who's to say he would listen to Theresa's guidance? What if his own lived experiences caused him to steer away from the road she'd laid out before him, the one that would ultimately lead to the darkness being defeated and Albion's future secured? And her own mistake buried?

Any risk to Albion's future is unacceptable. And a naïve royal, who has never set foot out of the castle, out from their brother's shadow, has strings that are easier to pull. Albion will be saved because they'll stay the course simply because they don't know the road has any other paths.

But for that to happen, the King had to be made inert. Hated. Give him enough guidance that he takes up a task he will never be able to accomplish. Stifle him with dread so he never expands his heroic nature any further than it has. He will stay put while his tyranny cuts away the fraying threads that bond his sibling to him.

Maybe it's dumb but like- I love to think about the fact that Logan is Sparrow's son. That before he went mad, he was cherished, and his whole life he was someone's baby. It's so bittersweet
