Kudos to the anonymous New York Times staffers who leaked the paper’s offensive internal guide about the language it won’t permit in its reports on Israel/Palestine, and more kudos to The Intercept for publishing it. The shocking revelation should prompt an even broader examination of the biased language that has long been routine in the Times and across all U.S. media.

Hey guys so do we want to talk about how Lila’s entire thing is that she lies and yet the biggest lie this season isn’t coming from her... but from Marinette.

How Lila and Marinette match each other intellectually, which Marinette herself says while fighting Lila (‘unlike the other Hawkmoth you’re actually clever!’). How Marinette has always fought against Lila’s lies but is now perpetuating one herself that will probably turn out to be one of the most (unintentionally-don't attack my daughter) harmful ones in the show- and its to Adrien- one of the only people who didn't initially fall for Lila's lies.

How the thing- the lie that is going to break Adrien this season, that will guiltrip him over his final confrontation with his father, make him hate himself for not being there for the final battle, and make him feel the weight of a thousand revelations and implications and betrayal once revealed, comes not from the villain known for lying... but from Marinette.

There is something to be said about villains paralleling the hero, and BOY is this season going to be one of the most heartbreaking and craziest examples of it yet.

I think that’s the real reason he was papped yesterday. Massive attack did also headline that festival he was at yesterday and they’re supposed to be playing the new COOP arena in Manchester where Harry is an investor but they’re cooperating with Barclays and Barclays is not ethical at all and is supporting Israel it seems so massive attack feel betrayed by the coop arena because they have chosen that arena because they were supposed to be ethical and all. So Harry is used once again to deflect from this shitshow. Because that festival yesterday was apparently eco neutral and massive attack did a huge free Palestine display

Ugh. I hate ALL of this. Also, good for Massive Attack for speaking out. I hate that H is connected to this arena.

If the PC completely changed their appearance (for example, using Shapeling Arts), do you think Poor Edward would still be obsessed with them specifically or would his brain melt from the thing he loves no longer physically being there? Obviously the obsession itself wouldn't be gone, that's not how the moon milk works, but would it continue to apply to the person specifically if they don't look like themselves?

This isn't a serious lore question, I just wanna know what you personally think would happen. Let's torture either Edward or the PC for funsies.

Just to add to that last post about whether Ayatollah Khamenei would go into exile like Bashar al-Assad, here's a great article published today in The Times of London on that very question by Christopher de Bellaigue, who has written several excellent books about Iranian history. He's most more knowledgable about the subject than I am, but it looks like we're on the same page:

Khamenei is an amateur historian who remembers with rancour the sway that Britain had over Iran for many decades, without, however, ever formally colonising the country. Like all ideologues, he hates sell-outs, particularly the last Shah's father, Reza Shah. He was brought to power by the British and, having made the mistake of favouring the Germans in the Second World War, was bundled into exile by the Allies when they invaded in 1941. An Iranian friend recently sent me a clip of Khamenei in a hall of people discussing the moment when the British told Reza to leave Iran. His style is conversational, intimate, grandfatherly -- but above all virile. "They told him to go," Khamenei told his rapt audience, "and he went! Can you imagine a greater humiliation for a country?" And, as if addressing Reza himself, he went on: "If you're a man...if you possess a drop of spunk, you'd say, 'I won't go!' You'd let them kill you!" So when Khamenei issues his warnings from his bunker, do not confuse them with the empty fulminations of a Colonel Muammar Gaddafi or a Saddam Hussein, made while their praetorian guards melt into the night. Do not expect this man who has lived his life for a noble cause -- and in his pious eyes has everything to gain from dying a martyr to it -- to do an Assad and willingly exchange the leadership of his country for a Russian dacha... ...Right now, from exile in America, a second Reza Pahlavi -- the grandson of Reza Shah, for whom Khamenei has such fierce contempt -- has been calling for the Iranians to take advantage of the Israeli assault and topple their tyrannical ruler.
