You ever wonder if Samus has ever been approached by folks to either have a book or movie written about her life? Like she spends some time in a Federation-controlled quadrant of space and suddenly some Hollywood sleazeball come out of the woodwork with a movie deal and it doesn't immediately register for her that the bullshit she gets up to would be like... summer blockbuster material? Also, that's her extremely traumatic life story?? Who wants to watch that???

(It turns out a lot of people would absolutely watch that and have Totally Normal™ Thoughts and Feelings about it.)

hey so, some time ago I found a piece of Samus art showing her reacting with despair to a 23andMe letter showing that she's got British heritage, and the art style heavily resembles yours, but I can't find it in your Samus or Metroid tags on your blog, and there's no signature on the art, anyway does that at all sound familiar to you?

from time to time i draw random feminine-coded aliens for the specific purpose of flirting with samus but they all dont have any particular backstory. we can make one up right now she’s a travel nurse that hops planets every couple of years

I imagine being around other Smashers from Super Smash Bros. does wonders for Samus' self-esteem and emotional well-being. Not in a sarcastic "haha we're comparing traumas wheeee" kind of way, but because SO DANG MANY Smashers are so very insightful, compassionate, and caring in their own ways and would want to see her have some measure of peace and help her heal.

The Smash Crew (with the obvious exception of fucking Ridley and probably Dark Samus too I dunno) is Ride or Die for Samus Aran and they will not hesitate to remind her at every given opportunity.

Just curious - why won't you draw Malos from XC2? (I don't want to commission him, it's just a very specific "no" so I have to ask about it)

no harm in asking. here’s the three point breakdown:

1) i generally feel bad about taking money for art i’m not super confident in, and in the case of malos he’s got a Very specific face that i think i only get right in polished art (that is, not 5 minute scribbles that i sometimes draw him in) maybe 50% of the time

2) i also think he’s kinda ugly just a bit sorry jin

3) i also mainly only want to draw him if im sexualizing him (reparations for his sisters having outfits like that)

If I were to want to get into metroid where's the best place to start? I have access to the nes/snes/gbc games that are on the Nintendo online thing, but are those the best place to begin?

posting this publicly just for my sweet beloved followers to also get metroidpilled. best bet is to play by order of each sort of section rather than release date since there’s been updates to some.

main series that has a connecting storyline (these get numbers, ie dread is metroid 5):

metroid zero mission (remake of og metroid, you have no reason to play og metroid) -> metroid samus returns (remake of metroid 2, you ESPECIALLY have no reason to play og metroid 2) -> super metroid -> metroid fusion -> metroid dread

everything but samus returns is available on switch

otherm is before fusion on the timeline so you could play it then. you could also choose Not to play this one cuz most people do not fucking like it (i think it’s like a 4/10)

prime series that all takes place between metroid 1 and 2 for reasons you’ll understand when you play them lol:

metroid prime remastered -> metroid prime 2 -> metroid prime hunters (get a friend for this, it’s honestly optional but it’s cute) -> metroid prime 3 (you could play the whole prime trilogy on gc/wii/wii u, but remastered prime1 is pretty good, so up to you) -> metroid prime federation force (yeah this is important for prime 4 lol. i havent played this yet bc i can’t convince any friends to play it with me)

As for non-game stuff I recommend:

Metroid (essentially the samus backstory manga, you could read this after playing zero mission)

Metroid Episode Aether (prime 2 manga)

Samus & Joey 1, 2, 3, 4 (good original story manga, not connected to the games at all)

these games are not very long you could feasibly finish all of them within like a summer break month. good luck

I know this may be a strange thing to ask, but have you seen RvB, I ask because I love seeing your Halo art and your art style

I watched like two seasons when i was but a young gal but fell off. my deeplore is i used to really be into roosterteeth around my preteen/13 year old days, but i mainly just watched achievement hunter stuff and general grab bag rt things like animated shorts & rt life videos….

my dear oomf fiiib is recently making me watch rvb in exchange for them playing my fav obscure visual novel series (utawarerumono). Im on season 5 right now… it’s not something i can watch on a second screen and i’m always busy as hell so it’s taking me a while to get through. sorry fiiib
