"Because you won't tell me!" As much as Tracey adored Leanne, as much as so many of their days were filled with fond memories, somedays it felt like she was giving up so much for so little.

Tracey told Leanne everything ! From the name of her dog to the little down in West Virginia that she had grown up in. Some the story behind every scar and smile line, Tracey was an open book, all ready for examination. And then there was Leanne, with her pretty smile and big doe eyes, Tracey had always felt like she could trust Leanne.

All she was ever met with was half explanations and run on sentences that never made it tot heir destination. Tracey knew nothing about Leanne and all she wanted was something to prove this was all real.

THERE REALLY IS SOMETHING SO LOVELY ABOUT BEING ABLE TO SAY THE DENTIST AND NOT HAVE TO EXPLAIN ANY FURTHER. Hermione tries not to resent magic-folk their ignorance. It feels like every day she's learning things about the wizarding world she had no idea of. The difference being that she was eleven when she found out about this world. Witches and wizards grow up knowing all about the muggle world existing alongside theirs, they just didn't care to explore it. "With the state of the NHS? Absolutely not. I'll ask them next time I write," she says with a grin. "So, where did you grow up?"

The Auror department had a close relationship with the accidental magic reversal squad. Which gave Susan an excuse to come barging into Leanne's office whenever she wanted. Katie was keeping a wide berth from the Wizarding World for obvious reasons but that didn't mean that Leanne could.

"Slytherin boys are trouble. I told you this when we were in Hogwarts, even before Katie touched that cursed necklace, and now you're finding yourself roped back in with the same one? Merlin, maybe it's fate at this point!" Susan offered, her smile still on her face.

So they were sneaking into the Holyhead Harpies practice arena but Katie thought she was in her right to do this! After all, she was a renowned chaser for the team, why shouldn't she be able to use the arena when she wanted? Leanne wasn't one for brooms, if Katie remembered correctly. Maybe that was a muggle born thing, Katie didn't know many muggleborns that actually liked being up in the sky.

"Here you go!" Katie cheered, finding one of the practice brooms easily before handing it to her friend. "Look, your problems with ... him are going to look so minuscule from a few hundred feet up in the air. You just have to trust me!"+

When I woke up at St.Mungos, she was one of the first people I saw. Do you know she brought me flowers even though they kept dying? That's just the type of person Leanne is! Anyone would be lucky to have her." Suddenly, Katie's gaze narrowed. "Not Theo though ... I think she can do better."

" ... Huh." Katie whispered, her cheeks suddenly during a soft shade of pink. "There's a lot I can say about Draco. A lot of people have ... alot to say. Either I'm using him or he's using me and either way, the universe is cruel to have us paired together right?" She murmured, shaking her head slowly. "I've said a lot about him in the past and not all my ... words have been nice so I'll keep it short and sweet. I love Draco ... and I wouldn't want anyone else to be my soulmate."

SUSAN & RILEY

"I have to say ... everything I think about Riley? We might be here all day." Susan giggled, bringing her knees up to her chest as just the thought of her boyfriend made her flustered. "When I was fourteen, I realized that everytime I walked into a room ... I was always looking for him. And when I was eighteen, I decided to force myself to never look for him again because going down that path was sure heartbreak. But ... now every time I walk into a room, he always looks for me. Isn't that crazy?" She smiled, letting out a lovesick sigh. "Sure ... he still annoys me a lot! Like, he can't go fighting everyone that looks at me! But he makes me so happy. I gave him my heart years ago and I don't plan on asking for it back. And I'm just ... very lucky that he loves me back. Sometimes ... I'm scared he won't feel the same anymore but for right now, he's mine. And I never thought I would ever have him even for a second."

"My dad is great." It was a simple answer, but Scorpius was used to the Daily Prophet twisting his words for a quick galleon. "My dad ... my dad has been through a lot. So have I, if I'm being honest. And he's always been there for me through all of it. I think about everything my dad went through to raise me alone and ... he's one of the strongest men I know. He's never ... he has always allowed me to be myself and has encouraged me in every aspect of my life and I know that sometimes ... he doesn't think he's doing a good job but I think he is." Scorpus sighed, smiling as he looked down at his thumbs. "I think my mum would agree. She'd be proud of the man I am because my dad raised me."

"Draco is ... off-putting." Artemis shrugged. "He is ... undead and alway runs cold. He always is determined to tease me by saying my French is wrong! He is cocky and arrogant at times. Have I mentioned he is a vampire? So obviously, we should have never gotten along." She huffed before a slow smile crept up onto her face. "But we did. And he is oddly adorable at the worst of times, like the times where he is worried about my safety. I didn't know a vampire could get so pale in the face ... I should hate him. But I do not."

"Essie is cool. She, for some reason, thinks I'm a bad boyfriend? I think someone got into her head about that. She was happy when we were dating, I swear! And this Riley started being some sort of gentleman around his girlfriend and now Esme thinks I didn't do shit! But like ... I thought her flowers sometimes and showed up to dates ... mostly. And I only invited the guys to a date once like she makes it seem like I always did it!" Carter's jaw was clenched and he rolled his eyes at the memory of that argument. " ... That being said, if she wants to get back together and ditch that blonde guy, I'm down."

"His girlfriend is hot. Wouldn't mind tapping that ... I'm sorry, is there more to the question?"

CONNOR & ESME

"She's gonna let me rave about her? Really? She ain't gonna slap me across the chest and call me a sap?" Connor was grinning, excitedly, almost like he was a golden lab and had just been told he was going out for a walk. "Shit, Esme is just perfect, ya know? She's so cool and I just knew she was the most perfect girl I had ever seen when I spotted her workin' the bar that night. But it ain't just her looks. Don't get me wrong, she's gorgeous but she's also so funny. I ain't ever seen anyone as funny as her and I've seen comedians perform. She could make me laugh until I cry and she's also so smart. I still don't understand tips and percents and she can do it all in her head! I ... Harry knew he shouldn't have opened up in the first place, that admitting to wanting something in the long run would make those feelings run out of control, but he had learned by now- when he wanted something? That's when it got taken away, that's when people got killed.

But still; he couldn't help that look of longing in his eyes, because he wanted it more than anything he'd wanted in awhile. "I know you won't." he finally said quietly, looking down to hide the emotion in his eyes, "It just- it wouldn't be fair to them. I'll just drag them down like I do everyone who gets close to me and..." And she was too important for that. "But maybe..." There it was, that glimmer of hope again.

"You think?"

leanne wasn't typically in the business of eavesdropping or was she one to reveal she'd overheard such a confession. but this was about crushes and potentially love, and leanne can't help the romantic in her from blurting out advice or an unsolicited push in the right direction.

"or you'd be making her life brighter." because leanne's heart would soar if her long-time crush told her he reciprocated her feelings. "and i didn't mean to overhear it, but i won't tell anyone! i pinky swear." leanne says, making a zipping motion across her lips and extending her pinky out for harry to take. "what if it doesn't go away? wouldn't you like to see if it goes somewhere?"

i refuse to have draco call anyone a mudblood / write extensive blood purity themes. while it’ll be mentioned and acknowledged in his past, it will not be his present. this does not mean he can’t actively be working through the prejudice / conflicted about it, it just means i’m not making draco blurt out slurs, etc. he can most definitely still be the bully / rude / cruel in other ways when the plot calls for it.

i do practice mains and exclusives. see my pinned post to see who's listed. just because someone is listed as a main with a character you also play, doesn't mean i won't write against your character. i try my hardest not to have exclusives with canon hp characters to avoid alienating and excluding people, but i won't promise it won't happen if i truly can't see my draco without a specific portrayal.

She loved getting to gossip while the ministry paid for it. It was the best reason to work only a few floors away from one of her best friends.

Susan offered the bag to Leanne, gently shaking it in the other witch's direction. "Look. I know you always rant and rave about being over Theo and how you're a better person now because you have left that part of your life behind but ... I mean ..." Susan trailed off, pressing her lips together.

"Maybe this is a sign that your story isn't over! And woudn't that be nice?"

leave it to susan to make her feel so good about her current situation. leanne wishes katie was here so she could share the wealth of susan's amusement. if anything, leanne thinks katie's situation was far more distressing than hers. at least leanne liked theo at one point. draco, on the other hand... irredeemable. leanne could still hear echoes of his teasing and see the image of katie's body jerking and moving in ways that it shouldn't.

"it's not funny!" leanne whines, keeping her voice low in fear of eavesdroppers. she's tempted to put up a silencing charm just for good measure. "i know they are. i've learned from my mistakes! i vet any potential matches to make sure they weren't a slytherin." which might have been an overreaction and slightly prejudicial, but leanne refused to be burned again, even by minor association.

"no, don't do that." leanne shakes her head. her lunch is long forgotten now. "don't say it's fate. it was an unfortunate, one-off accident. i assumed they'd give me weasley or abney!"
