@begaydodrughailsaten
Please excuse my shitty camera quality, but here's my lucetting!
Pictures of my longest lucet cord, a tiny bit, and my current one! Plus the actually lucet. The squiggly bit is called frogging, and it's done by weaving a smaller bit of string through it and then scrunching it up along that string

A lucet bracelet I recently made! The button is dark mother of pearl and the yarn is a silk blend that we spun ourselves!

I make my own shoelaces and pretty cords for my hoodies with a lucet! [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucet] I 3D-printed mine at the library for $3 (filament charges, I guess? I would have paid way more) but if you just want to watch a YT tutorial and try it out a big meat fork works fine if you put some tape over the points so you don't stab yourself.
Ha, I actually have a wooden lucet that lives abandoned in my fingerloop box. I was hoping to get into it cuz I like that you can pick lucet up and put it down and work on it whenever, compared to fingerloop where you kinda have to go start to finish all in one go, but I can't seem to get the hang of the tension. I always pull too tight and can't get the string back off the fork to keep going.

Okay soooooo very tired from Woolstock so I'll post pictures tomorrow but quick question for those of you have use a lucet knitting fork:
Can I use unfinished handspun or should I steam set the twist before hand?

I picked up a new skill today! I made beaded flat lucet cord! The tension is trickier, I stopped when my yarn snapped after about two feet. Maybe I'm just too used to the crochet cotton and I have to be gentler.
Anyway, maybe I'll make some of this up as largesse! I don't have a plan for using it currently.

need a break from the wedding dress and things so decided to try making a little bag with oak leaves and acorns. This will be the drawstring cord for it- a flat lucet cord! I picked this fork up years ago as a kid at a colonial history event and haven’t done much with it, but it’s super fun. The yarn is just K+C essential cotton (in sequoia and golden coast). I might also weave a …takadai(?) type plaid braid with these two and grey or cream as a bag strap or if I don’t like the way this cord looks with it. I don’t know, I’m just suddenly overcome with lust for weaving, you know how it goes lol
