Already completely obsessed with the dynamic between Robert and Mackenzie.

I was starting to worry that Mack was going to be less involved with the John storyline considering his focus right now seems to be the weed plot, but it’s nice to see they’re not only deliberately setting up a friendship between them (and purposely bringing up their shared problems with John) but having them work closely alongside each other as well.

Mack may have grown to tolerate John but he’s one of the few people who is more inclined to believe that he isn’t just the selfless hero he makes himself out to be. If they build a real sense of trust between Mack and Robert, Mack could be a really strong ally when shit hits the fan – which is exactly what Robert needs right now.

And I can’t wait for Aaron’s head to spin seeing his best friend and his ex husband get on.

Mack’s seen pictures of Robert before he went to prison, the remaining few that had been in Aaron’s flat before he met John, the ones that had always been lovingly lingering in Vic’s place - he wasn’t exactly built, back then, tall and lanky with a blonde quiff that Mack would have ripped the piss out of him for.

Robert would never have the body type to be bulky, but prison, and farm work, had changed him, firm, sinewy muscle flexing under Mack’s exploratory touch. He was strong - Mack knew that much from experience, the way Robert could easily flip the two of them over in bed, the way he could easily take the weight of Mack in his lap on those nights when Mack would crave riding the other man into oblivion.

Robert was sleep soft, next to him, blonde hair soft and free of product, tousled from Mack’s grabby hands. If things were different - if there was ever any chance that Robert could get over Aaron, if there was a world where the ending to the story was ever going to be anything other than Robert and Aaron - Mack could love him. He could really love him.

really need mack to tell robert about the slurry incident and how he swears he doesn't remember leaving the valve open but he must have. and then goes on to say that he didn't really rate john, still isn't sure he does completely but, he did come through for him and support him then, so. and the wheels start turning in robert's head and he's like, oh did he now? interesting. would just love robert slowly figuring it all out and no one believes him. because he's the ex-husband. but mack does. mack listens.

Robert and Mack. Roback? Mackbert? RobMack? MackRob? We’ll workshop it.

Think about it. Charity hooks up with Vanessa, Mack and Charity split up. Mack comes out as bi. Hooks up with Robert, which ends up evolving to a full-blown relationship. Aaron in his jealous little feelings because his ex (who he’s still in love with) and his best friend (and secret crush) are together, but feeling guilty about it because he’s married to Fauxbert now. Warning Mack that Robert is bad news, and Mack’s just like “he can’t be all bad; he pulled you, didn’t he?” — because of course he fucking is, my beautiful flirty Scottish bastard.

John gets exposed, goes down, Aaron divorces him. Aaron is visibly jealous of Mack and Robert’s relationship, but he never actually specifies which one of them he wants (we all know it’s Robert, but for the sake of the angst, it’s not entirely clear). Mack and Robert make it all the way to the altar before Aaron breaks, crashes the wedding and goes “this is a mistake, I know you love me” (because we love a good parallel), but the camera angles make it difficult to tell who he means. The lack of specification is a big part of this, because I’m envisioning it as a Friday cliffhanger — leaving us with three big questions going into the following Monday’s episode; who is Aaron referring to? Does the wedding go ahead? If not, who ends up heartbroken? (Hint: it’s Mackenzie, when Robert leaves him at the altar for Aaron).

Robert returning and accepting Aaron has moved on and becoming Mack's equally chaotic best mate all while Aaron, from corner of the bar, jealously watches Mackbert contuinue to bond all while being stuck with SugdenFromWish and wondering how the hell he can get rid of him and have his Hummus & Coriander sandwich loving husband back in his life... I want it and I want it now please. Thanks..
