Adrienne Passer wears gold jewelry with emeralds set in them. One of these pieces is a pendant she found in her family's guest bedroom downstairs, that was actually something the guy who would much later become her boyfriend left behind when her brother had him over.

Mirdri Abanador has a gold band set with the acrostic gemstones ruby, emerald, garnet, amethyst, ruby, diamond, and sapphire. Her mother told her to always have with with her, because it's a magical ring that absorbs the energy of vampires to convert into energy. Midri was a half-vampire whose half-vampirism wasn't allowed to manifest, because the ring took the type of energy needed for it to, so she lived most of her life as a human until the ring got temporarily misplaced. It's still very special to her. She also is given a gold necklace by her friend Adrienne, since it was too short for Adrienne to want to wear.

Nieva Crace has a silver ring with "love" spelled in a cursive manner with the shape of the ring. Her boyfriend gave it to her before his apparent death.

Sidus Sagebrush had temporary custody of an acrostic ring that could steal vampire energy, and used it to put vampires in comas. Not very nice, man. He also had temporary custody of a silver ring with a vampire's eye in it. Also not very nice, man. He does have his own ring, which is gold with two large diamonds set with a smaller yellow gemstone.

Otto Passer has a silver ring with a vampire's eye set in it. It's very special to him. Don't ask him about it, because he probably doesn't want to talk about the details.

In Rainbow

Mae Chouko has a gold butterfly necklace with gemstones set in it, which Tornin attached her personal memories to, so if she took it off she would lose her personal memories until she put it back on. Once this effect was removed from it, she still wears it.

In A Chained Sunrise

Sara Herbst had a gold chain bracelet, which was actually a piece of a larger golden chain that had magical powers. She later acquired this chain. It was made, I'm pretty sure (it's been a few years since I wrote that book), to destroy some kind of like, creature thing that killed a queen's husband and impersonated him?

In The Curse Of Rhiannon

Aurora Schiller has a necklace with a purple labradorite stone on it (though the stone is not named by name in the book). It has protective energy, like the stones on her cape do.

In The Olivine Letters

Avdotya Petrov has a silver necklace with two peridot stones, which were given to her by her crush Ruthe, which had been owned by Ruthe's mother before she died. Avdotya's dead and slightly unhinged mother Athene connects herself to it at some point.

In Visions

Hecate acquires a key tied to a black cord, and wears it around her neck. It was the key to the prison cell she shared with her partner Lucifer when they were accused of being a witch and a kidnapper respectively.

In The Madder Queen

There is a red stone necklace known as The Charm of Garance, and I think it protects against the effects of the jade tiara, but again, it's been a few years, I don't 100% remember. Oriel Madder has this at some point.

In The Line Madder

Seth Madder has snake bite piercings, and therefore the jewelry for them, for much of his life until he loses one in a fight and gives up wearing them. He didn't want to remove them before, I'm pretty sure, because he didn't want to look too different from how he looked when his parents knew him before they died when he was sixteen.

I think my recent manuscript The Mind Game Machine didn't include any that I can remember? That might be the only one spared of it, at least, before the editing stage. Who knows what I might add.

I finished the drawing of Mae I was working on. I plan to get this one on a keychain, too. It has a bit stronger lighting than I've been working with lately. I really like it.

Mae Chouko of Rainbow went through many early designs quite quickly in mid-2013, with her hairstyle and outfit initially changing at least a little bit almost every time I drew her. In her very first design, her hair was shorter, with fewer lighter pieces. By page 12 of the first draft of her story, the drawing in the margin brought her hair to its current length, and mostly its current style. Still, it would change throughout margin drawings to become straighter or parted to one side sometimes, depending on what I wanted it to look like to match whichever outfit I was drawing her in.

Her outfits and hair changed greatly throughout 2014-16, too, for the most part becoming longer, but that is a drawing for another time.

Her wings changed, also. Initially they were much more pointed, with the core of them being black, and only the edges being rainbow. Since 2014, her wings have been entirely rainbow.

As the 24th of August marks 10 years since her first design was created, I thought I'd draw some of her earliest designs, alongside her current design (finalized as of 2017 for the publication of Rainbow) in the upper right corner.

And now, time for bed. It's five in the morning. I stayed up all night doing this.

The first two characters are two of the main supporting cast members, the third is the protagonist (an early version of Rainbow's Mae Chouko, with an early version of one of her outfits from the book), and the fourth character here was the first antagonist.

I seem to draw her wings a different size every time I draw her. After nearly ten and a half years, I still haven't sorted that out.
