There’s the obvious “I control one of the fundamental forces” thing but harness is an English/Dutch false friend (they sound the same spoken but have two different meanings)

English- Harness and Dutch-Harnas/Armor

Considering that kinetic grasp effectively turns Zarya’s grav into armor 👀

imagine you are a cloned member of a slave race who got terminated and revived for no reason other than to get a “fresh perspective” on your research and this very wack experience is what pushed you over the edge to decry your gods and flee to freedom and when you’ve worked out an ok plan (you and some fellow scientists are being transported on a spaceship, then you wait until everyone falls asleep/the soldiers who don’t sleep aren’t looking and make a break for an emergency escape shuttle) and when you intend to do this you’re stopped by a colleague who noticed your weird behaviour and is threatening to narc on you so you fucking one shot kill them just absolutely fold them like an omelet before getting the fuck out of there (now with some metaphorical blood on your hands) but just before you get to the ship you’re stopped again by another scientist that you don’t really know but you think their name is gogurt and this time you just grab them by the face to shut them up before anyone hears either of you and drag them onto the ship so that they can’t run and snitch on you too and you take off as fast as fucking possible only to realize that you now have a captive/companion for this little road trip who you quickly figure out to be a total piece of shit who does not particularly want to be free because they don’t like responsibility or work or being a person so they sell you both out as soon as they can to the massive interplanetary power that’s currently at war with your former gods in exchange for being babied forever and now you’re stuck with them because along the way you developed a violent-nemeses-with-benefits situation that is so codependent that you cannot be physically separated lest your bodies begins to shrivel up and decompose. and also you both picked up swing dancing (weirdo freak version) but they don’t have a sense of aesthetics so you’re the entire creative backbone of the duo and you can’t abandon that because dance is your passion. this is what my oc maevith lives everyday.

I honestly kind of thought this was how it worked before I became a librarian but now,

Like y’all the librarians do not care that you have a fine or lost a book, yeah I can’t let you check out any books until your under ten dollars, but I’ll also help you calculate how much you need to pay to be at $9.99.

I can usually tell when people have fines because they’re trying so hard to hide, like dropping the books in the Dropbox or just handing them to me and fast walking away. It makes me so sad because I’m not mad or upset at them at all! I’ve been there before! I’ve almost abandoned library cards because of the fines before! I’ve accidentally moved with library books before and I had to mail it back to the library because I left the state! They still let me be a librarian!

The best experiences are the people that are brave enough to tell me about the fines because they’re so relived! When they realize that I’m not mad at them and I’ll help them work it down and that I genuinely want them to keep coming back!

So yeah the librarians aren’t mad at you and we aren’t going to hunt down your family. I promise.

I don’t see this talked about a lot but y’all know Sigma doesn’t curse right? Like he’s a full grown man and he just says “Verdorie” when he’s frustrated. Which is a minced curse and the Dutch equivalent of “Gosh darn it”

This is one of the big reasons why I don’t get why some people find him scary or creepy. Like yeah he’s huge and can turn you into a singularity with a thought but he’s also thinking about the stars 24/7 and won’t even curse in the middle of a battle. Regardless of what he’s been tricked into doing, he’s still himself after everything that’s happened to him and I love him for it.

REORGANIZING OVERWATCH (didn’t even know it was shut down to begin with) and also TALKING

i like to think of this like you go on vacation for 10 years and when you come back your neighbor’s dog has become sentient, talks, studies physics and ALSO IS REVIVING AN OLD SHUT DOWN BRANCH OF THE CIA.

So Talon has several known and respected members of Overwatch and also has broken Dr. De Kuiper out of his imprisonment and tells him to go fight,, some people? and the neighbor’s dog?? like no wonder he's being manipulated, it literally couldn't be easier

Your hypothetical scientist is making endless slides of snake tissues and putting them in different bath thingies and then making more slides because they fell off the slides into the bath thingies and then making more slides because they got pollen in them and then making more slides and then frantically running around the halls of the bio floor trying to find someone who has a card to the lab because she locked herself out and the slides have to go in the next bath in 3 minutes

Culture is so obsessed with the idea of lone geniuses that it doesn't really appreciate that most of the progress of science (and likely every other discipline) occurs collaboratively, in babysteps, and usually through a lot of very tedious, utterly unsexy, work.

Hey, if you find yourself tossing and turning out of your blankets you can just climb inside an empty duvet cover. It’s like a nice blanket pocket, plus the covers themselves are basically two sheets stuck together so it’s nice and light weight for summer nonsense. Also if you don’t want to buy an expensive duvet cover you can just sew two sheets together! (Sew on three sides, and don’t forget to turn them inside out first)

There’s less waking up in the middle of the night with your butt and one leg cold! It’s harder for plushies to fall off the bed if they’re in the pocket!
