Quiz 12 Final Chapter 👺 Non-RECYCLABLE or Do Not Recycle There are certain things which are either can not be recycled or are dangerous to recycle. 1.☠️ Poisonous Or Toxic The skull and crossbones symbol means the product is poisonous. Licking, eating, drinking, or smelling a substance marked with this symbol can make you very sick or even cause death. Objects containing this label are toxic and should not come in contact with skin. Inhalation or swallowing can be fatal.  2.🔥 Flammable Flammable. The flame symbol means the product may catch fire. Flammable products or their fumes may catch fire easily if near heat, flames or sparks. 3.💥 Explosive This hazard symbol indicates an explosive, self-reactive substance and organic peroxides that may explode when heated. 4.⚗️ Corrosive Corrosive refers to a substance that has the power to cause irreversible damage or destroy another substance by contact. The hazard symbol used to identify either a chemical capable of metal corrosion or skin corrosion shows a chemical poured onto a material and a hand, eating into the surface. 5.☢️ Radioactive a sign denotes the need for caution to avoid contamination with or undue exposure to atomic radiation. 6.☣️ Biohazardous / Infectious The term "biohazard" for the purpose of this symbol is defined as "those infectious agents presenting a risk or potential risk to the well-being of man, either directly through his infection or indirectly through disruption of his environment." Sorry for the late post, was busy in enrolling in new courses and other things. Will now start new series. Quiz 11 ♻️20-23♻️ PAP Symbols PAP - As you've guessed as a wise student that it stands for Paper. Check what type of paper codes are there below. ♻️20 C PAP (PCB) - Cardboard ♻️21 PAP - Other paper, mixed paper (magazines, mail) ♻️22 PAP - Paper ♻️23 PBD (PPB) - Paperboard: Greeting cards, frozen food boxes, book covers Facts 👇 ♻️Paper making has an impact on the environment because it destroys trees in the process. According to data from the Global Forest Resource Assessment roughly 80,000 to 160,000 trees are cut down each day around the world with a significant percentage being used in the paper industry. Source :worldatlas ♻️Paper Waste is a severe problem in many industries and offices. Because of printing mistakes, junk mails, billings, and packaging, the paper may comprise up to 70% of a company's total waste. An average office employee would be using about 10,000 sheets of paper in a year. ♻️There is a wide variety of alternative 'fibres' that can work as an alternative to wood-pulp paper. Sources for tree-free paper include: agricultural residues – for example, sugar cane bagasse, husks and straw. fibre crops and wild plants – such as bamboo, kenaf, hemp, jute, and flax. Source: PgPaper ♻️ So buy companies who make pages from alternative to paper. The good news is that India is a leader in Paper Waste Management. The Indian recycling industry needs nearly 14 million tonnes of waste paper to meet current demands. Domestic recycling only produces 30% of that amount, and recycling levels are only half the global average. So the demand for waste paper from abroad is likely to remain strong. Quiz 8 - Alu (41) Symbol This recycling symbol indicates that the material is aluminium and can be placed into an aluminium or mixed metal recycling container. If this is from a food or drinks container please wash the item prior to recycling. It is highly recyclable and widely used. India’s aluminium consumption per year.is 3.3 tonnes. Annual demand for secondary (recycled) aluminium, accounting for nearly 30% of total consumption. By 2021, demand is expected to reach 1.5 million tonnes. 90% of secondary aluminium consumed was imported even though a significant amount of scrap is generated in the country. 120000 tonnes Aluminium scrap was generated in India in 2016, with the automotive and power segments together accounting for 75% of the total. Current recycling rate, while the world average is 45%. The country has a long way to go before it can become a major aluminium recycler and feed the secondary metal market which is dependent on imports. Aluminum cans lost to landfills  Americans throw away more than $700 million worth of aluminum cans every year. #SchoolOfRecycle #WiseVillage #education #awareness #information #MakeEnvironment #MakeEarth #Reuse #WiseVillager #Alu #Alu41 (at World Wide) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTBd_9wofJ3/?utm_medium=tumblr
