Romanov Impostors
Anna Anderson (Anastasia)
Eugenia Smith (Anastasia)
Eleonora Kruger (Anastasia)

Nadezhda Vasilyeva (Anastasia)
Larissa Tudor (Tatiana)
Michelle Anches (Tatiana)

“Granny” Alina (Maria)

Ceclava Czapska (Maria)

Marga Boodts (Olga)
There were a couple of Alexei imposters but no one ever took their claims seriously because 1.) no one can fake hemophilia and 2.) it’d be impossible for a hemophiliac to survive gunshot wounds.

Why do people think Anastasia survived (I know she did not) instead of any of the other girls?
Hi! Actually, there were a few people who claimed to be Anastasia’s sisters (Marga Boodts and Larissa Tudor come to mind), but Anna Anderson’s insistence that she was the murdered tsar’s youngest daughter captured the public’s imagination. She gave a fairly convincing performance, and even Gleb Botkin (son of the imperial family’s physician), who had known the real Anastasia, believed that Anderson’s claim was genuine. Many people wanted to believe that at least one of the Romanovs had survived the massacre at Ekaterinburg because the truth of the matter was just too horrible to contemplate, and Anderson gave them something like hope.
