yeah there’s an interview with holly rowe that is so unintentionally funny bc holly’s like “sorry we made such a big deal of your freshman year match up but it’s just because you’re friends and grew up playing each other !” and caitlin’s like “yeah totally, except we never played in high school because we were at different age groups”
https://youtu.be/dEPyrC6nSeE?si=sYd1Y_Jrqc8XqF9j
i am a proud member of the holly rowe hate club bc she never fails to make interviews so painfully fucking awkward

V.A "La Révolution Française - Rock Opéra" 1973 double LP Box Set France Pop Rock
full youtube
1973. To keep up with the public's enthusiasm for projects such as Tommy or Jesus Christ Superstar, the first rock opera called "La Révolution Française" was released in France. Rock opera? Today, we would rather say musical comedy and the success of "Notre-Dame de Paris", "The Ten Commandments" and other "Romeo and Juliet" proves how much interest in this musical genre is still alive. The ancestor of these shows already used the same tricks: telling a story in about twenty scenes involving many protagonists, mixing solo numbers and choirs, bluettes and heavier titles, using recurring themes that make it easier to anchor oneself in the memories. With a libretto by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Rivière, the music is the work of Raymond Jeannot and Claude-Michel Schönberg, creator the following year of the romantic hit 'Le Premier Pas' and who, in addition to composition, interprets a Louis XVI overwhelmingly human. Because one of the strengths of "The French Revolution", which narrates the upheavals that shook France from the opening of the Estates General on May 5, 1789 to the dark period of the Terror, is to make us relive the key moments of this period in a faithful summary of history and to identify in three verses the character of each character, without sounding caricatured. Musically, the work is very diverse, alternating between pure and hard rock (the revolutionaries, Fouquier-Tinville, Robespierre), entertainment (Napoléon et Madame Sans-Gêne, Talleyrand, Marat), romantic French variety (Charles Gauthier, Louis XVI, Marie-Antoinette) and musical comedy in all its splendour (Les États Généraux, A Versailles, Ca Ira). We thus go from the thrill of the great story to the tragedy of the love story between two fictional protagonists (Charles Gauthier and Isabelle de Montmorency), with a few moments of lightness where musical interest briefly gives way to humour. 6.1 Blood Ties Part 1
Max won an Emmy in Hollywood. Kay’s been shifted away. The whole squad has moved around and we have Falsone on Homicide and a new woman, Laura Ballard. And Gharty is on the department permanently, too!
They’re getting praise just as Frank and Tim come back—just in time for a mysterious murder at a high function
Lewis can’t stay with Kellerman. He’s too explosive. Then he gets shot at with Falsone. Same with Mike and Munch (who admits he has bad luck) with Mike’s arm getting hit
Pembleton doesn’t trust Ballard yet (Both Cox and Bayliss say you’ll get used to it)
A new season brings more chaos
Also nice semi-foreshadowing of Tim saying he likes Laura and Frank all, “you would…”

Character Actor
Edgar "Mac" McLean Stevenson Jr. (November 14, 1927 – February 15, 1996)  Actor and comedian. He is best known for his role as Lieutenant Colonel Henry Blake in the television series M*A*S*H, which earned him a Golden Globe Award in 1974. Stevenson also appeared on a number of television series, notably The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and The Doris Day Show.
Before becoming a star, Stevenson appeared as a contestant on the Password television game show in New York City, winning five pieces of luggage.  After this he appeared in New York City on stage, and in television commercials. He also performed on Broadway, and began to establish himself as a comedy writer, writing for the seminal That Was The Week That Was—in which Alan Alda appeared—and The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, performing occasionally on both shows. He also was a regular on the 1970 The Tim Conway Comedy Hour variety show on CBS. During the late 1960s and early 1970s, he also appeared in TV commercials for products such as Kellogg's, Libby's fruit cocktail, Dolly Madison and Winston cigarettes, in which he was shown sprinting around a parking lot of Winston delivery trucks and painting over the product slogan, replacing the "like" in "like a cigarette should" with the grammatically correct "as."
After guest-starring in That Girl with Marlo Thomas, he was cast in The Doris Day Show in 1969, playing magazine editor boss Michael Nicholson until 1971. Originally, he auditioned for the role of Hawkeye Pierce in M*A*S*H, but was persuaded to play Lt. Col. Henry Blake instead.
Stevenson appeared as a guest panelist for several weeks on Match Game in 1973, and again in 1978 on the daytime and nighttime weekly syndicated version. In 1981, he became a regular panelist on the daily syndicated version of Match Game, staying with the show until its cancellation a year later. He would make occasional appearances on the subsequent Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour in 1983 and 1984.
After his departure from M*A*S*H, Stevenson's acting career declined. While occasionally filling in as guest host of The Tonight Show, Stevenson's first attempt at his own show was an NBC variety show special titled The McLean Stevenson Show on November 20, 1975. The program finished 41st in the ratings that week, and the planned series was ultimately scuttled. He then starred in a series of sitcoms: The McLean Stevenson Show (1976–77), In the Beginning (1978), Hello, Larry (1979–80) and Condo (1983).   During the 1988–89 television season, he returned to a supporting TV role in an ensemble, playing Max Kellerman in the short-lived CBS series adaptation of Dirty Dancing.  (Wikipedia)

Hey girl! So I’m super new to basketball and I don’t really know anything about it and half of my opinions are based on how other people think, so I was wondering how you got your… ball knowledge?? Like I sound goofy whenever I talk about basketball with someone and I just end up embarrassing myself 😭 I know this is stupid but I just want to start understanding it more
you do not sound stupid babe don’t worry
honestly like… i wish i could tell you, it’s just pretty much years and years of watching the game and being invested in it and all of it’s just lowk swimming around in there
like imma keep it a buck, most of the shit up there is pretty useless
it’s not like a test you can study for tho… honestly the best way to learn the game is to watch it and stick with it. like all forms of the game, whether it’s women’s, men’s, college - and the really cool thing about basketball is that it’s pretty fuckin interesting (except men’s college ball fuck that shit)
obviously i don’t watch every basketball game ever, but i make sure to check box afterwards if there’s a game i was interested in but didn’t get to see. in terms of social media i’ve always followed like bleacherreport, overtime, house of highlights, etc. twitter will always tell you what’s going on, but i’m only on there when the transfer portal opens, before trade deadlines, and sometimes during the playoffs so do with that what you will
i love watching commentary also - inside the nba and first take are some of my fav shows. some of my favorite analysts are malika andrews, i used to love max kellerman, i love chiney and draya too, when candace parker is on she’s hilarious. i hate stephen a smith but he’s a staple and he has his moments so
i also think i do have a pretty good memory for these things, like when i pull games and stats or whatever outta my ass, i normally don’t have to look them up like they’re just kinda there
yeah i think you just kinda take some time and explore all forms of media that you can and see what clicks for you, and then just stick with it. the game is so easy to fall in love with

The end of an era
Tumblr media
Around the Horn (ATH) is an American livesports roundtable discussion show, conducted in the style of a panel game, produced by ESPN. The show premiered on November 4, 2002, as a replacement for Unscripted with Chris Connelly, and has aired daily at 5:00 p.m. ET on ESPN ever since, and has had over 4,000 episodes aired as of 2020. The program emanated from Washington, D.C., where it was located in the same facility as Pardon the Interruption (PTI). Production still is based in Washington.[2] The moderator for the show is Tony Reali, who has hosted the program since 2004, replacing Max Kellerman, and also served as the statistician on Pardon the Interruption until the show's relocation to New York. In March 2025, ESPN announced that the show's final episode would be May 23, 2025.
Around the Horn premiered on November 4, 2002.[3] From its premiere until January 30, 2004, the show was hosted by Max Kellerman, who at the time was largely known strictly as a contributor to ESPN's Friday Night Fights. In late 2003, Kellerman announced that he would depart from the network for Fox Sports;[4][5]after the show tried out several replacements, current host Tony Reali was named the permanent host on February 2, 2004, three days after Kellerman's last episode aired.[6] As of September 23, 2019, Woody Paige has the most wins in the history of the show, with more than six hundred.[7] Despite early negative reviews due to its now-defunct argumentative formatting,[8] the show has lasted more than twenty years on the air, remaining a staple on ESPN.[9] The show became less combative and more playful over the years, and in 2018, changed its look with augmented reality of the panel with Reali standing in an enhanced studio at ESPN's South Street Seaport studios with a continuation of the relaxed tone of the show since the mid-2010s.
The show went on hiatus from March 16, 2020 to May 8, 2020, as a result of a national emergency being declared due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused the suspension of sports leagues around the world. Between May 11, 2020 and July 10, 2020, Around the Hornaired for 20 minutes with commercials at 4:40 p.m. EDT as Around the Home under a new format where Tony Reali, along with three panelists, discussed sports issues from their own homes. The Around the Home format became semipermanent beginning with the July 13, 2020 episode, which saw the show expand back to its normal length. The show returned to its regular format when it returned to the studio in September 2020, although the Around the Home format is still used occasionally.
It was announced on November 20, 2024, that Around the Horn will come to an end by summer 2025.[10] Shortly after this announcement, daily episodes were added to Disney+.[11] On March 4, 2025 it was announced by ESPN that the final episode of Around the Horn would air on May 23, 2025
