Song Review: Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway with Maya DeVitry and Joel Timmons - “You Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere” (Live, July 27, 2024)

Molly Tuttle ceded partial lead-vocal duties to her Golden Highway bandmates Kyle Tuttle, Dominick Leslie and Bronwyn Keith-Hynes and Shelby Means alongside guests Maya DeVitry and Joel Timmons when the expanded band performed “You Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere” at the 2024 Ossipee Valley Music Festival.

Captured on video July 27 in Maine, the performance reveals Tuttle is the only true lead singer in the group. Fortunately, however, the joy that’s evident as the musicians, gathered around a single mic, decide on the fly who is going to sing and/or play a solo transcends the flat vocal deliveries of Tuttle’s collaborators.

And when the full band and audience sing Bob Dylan’s infectious chorus in unison after Tuttle herself delivers the final verse, the foregoing vocal sins are (almost) forgotten.

This one’s about the atmosphere.

If this is what they drop on a random Tuesday, then I have no idea what they're going to do for splatoon 3's third anniversary

Isn't there supposed to be a nintendo direct in June? Or did they cancel that and the splatoon devs decided to release this on its own?

Well either way, there's a lot of stuff jam packed in this five and a half minute video!

Deep Cut is back! To be honest, I thought that this would be the Deep Cut dlc some people wanted, but this is so much better! An entire spinoff game centered towards them!

I saw this and for a split second I thought that this would be a splatoon fishing spinoff. Do yall think they would put a fishing minigame in splatoon? It would be kinda messed up since they're all sea creatures

I don't know what it is, but the cartoonish splatoon characters against the washed out and semi-realstic terrain is so interesting to me. I wonder if they're going for a somewhat unsettling vibe? Like something similar to Dredge?

Overall, this looks so good! The first offical splatoon spinoff game is a grand title, and I really hope it lives up to the hype. For some reason, it kind of reminds me of bugsnax since we're visiting an uncharted island that looks fun but is no doubt hiding some sinister secrets. The mechanic we play as seems like they're going to be taken in (and adopted) into deep cut, so I wonder if they will be mentioned in the inevitable splatoon 4 game. Though I don't think I'll be able to play splatoon raiders at launch since it's a switch 2 exclusive and I probably won't be able to get one for another year or so.

Back to splatoon 3, third kits are real! And there's THIRTY of them! With this, it seems like they're extending the life of splatoon 3 for a little longer until the next mainline splatoon game (man I can't believe that we're going to have mainline AND spinoff splatoon games now)

They're bringing back urchin underpass let's go!!!!!! I gasped when I saw this since I never got to play the first splatoon on the wii u so I'll finally be able to play on this map!

The release date for this update is June 12th, which is way sooner than what I first thought. I can't wait!

And as a side note, I'm really glad that they got Maya Aoki Tuttle (the narrator for the splatoon 3 direct and a few commercials) back! She did an amazing job as always!

If I had a nickel for every character voiced by Maya Aoki Tuttle that was born on a residential ship that crashed, resulting in the death of both of the character's parents, only for the character to get adopted by a parental figure trying to escape a crappy social system, who also desperately tries to redeem an alien character under the belief that she's only acting against them because of their lack of support, I'd have two nickels. Which is not a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

Spidey And His Amazing Friends Introduces New Heroes and Villans For Season 2

Earlier today, Entertainment Weekly shared the news that the Disney Junior hit show Marvel's Spidey and his Amazing Friends would be swinging onto TVs in August for a second season and bring a brand new roster of amazing friends for the Spidey gang!

John Stamos will be voicing the role of Iron Man/Tony Stark in season two of Disney Junior's hit series "Marvel's Spidey and his Amazing Friends." The additional new Marvel heroes and villains that will be featured in season two are Ant-Man (voiced by Sean Giambrone), Wasp (voiced by Maya Tuttle), Reptil (voiced by Hoku Ramirez), Black Cat (voiced by Jaiden Klein), Sandman (voiced by Tom Wilson) and Electro (voiced by Stephanie Lemelin). The new season premieres August 2022 and will include a new "Glow Webs Glow" storyline. Season two will also feature four new original songs and a "Glow Webs Glow" anthem song by series' songwriter/composer Patrick Stump (Fall Out Boy).

Marvel's Spidey and his Amazing Friends follows the adventures of Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy and Miles Morales as they team up to defeat foes and save the day. In season two of the series, the trio of young Super Heroes are able to call on Avengers pals Iron Man, Ant-Man, Wasp and Reptil, in addition to Hulk, Ms. Marvel and Black Panther, for help when trouble arises — like when villain Electro tries to drain all of the power in the city and the Spidey Team must band together to use a new glowing web formula to turn the lights back on.
